Abstract

This study aims to understand the differences in teachers' understanding of the concept of Islamic education for children based on their educational background. The study was conducted in ten Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions in Jayakerta District, Karawang Regency, involving twenty teachers, consisting of twelve teachers with a bachelor's degree (PIAUD) and eight teachers without a bachelor's degree. The method used was a qualitative approach with a descriptive design, while data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews. The results showed that teachers with a bachelor's degree tended to have a more systematic conceptual understanding and were able to integrate Islamic values into teaching and learning activities with a planned pedagogical approach. Meanwhile, teachers without a bachelor's degree had a strong understanding in daily practice, emphasizing role models, habituation, and direct experience in instilling Islamic values in children. Both groups of teachers contributed significantly to realizing Islamic values-based early childhood education. The synergy between theoretical understanding and practical experience is a key strength in the implementation of Islamic education in PAUD.

Abstract

This study aims to examine anti-bullying values in the Qur’an through a thematic interpretation (maudhu‘i) approach and analyze their implications for educational practices in school environments. Bullying has become a serious issue in Indonesian education due to its negative impact on students’ psychological, social, and academic development. Therefore, a strong value-based foundation is necessary to foster a safe and character-oriented school culture. This research employs a qualitative method with a library research design. The primary data consist of Qur’anic verses related to prohibitions against mocking, degrading others, calling people by offensive nicknames, and engaging in aggressive behavior. These verses are analyzed using thematic interpretation by referring to classical and contemporary exegeses. Furthermore, the identified values are integrated with character education theory to assess their relevance in bullying prevention efforts within schools. The findings reveal that the Qur’an explicitly prohibits all forms of behavior that lead to bullying—whether verbal, social, or psychological—and emphasizes respect for human dignity, empathy, brotherhood, and justice. These values are highly relevant for implementation in education through strengthening character education, promoting teacher role models, and cultivating an inclusive school culture. This study is expected to contribute conceptually to the development of education grounded in Qur’anic values in order to minimize bullying practices within educational settings.

Abstract

Education in Islamic boarding schools is a comprehensive educational unit that encompasses all aspects of students' lives. Various pesantren have developed and implemented methods and strategies believed to optimize and maximize education in their institutions. One such institution is Al-Amien Prenduan Islamic Boarding School, which categorizes student graduation into three categories: positive graduation, conditional graduation (conditional on moral behavior and Quranic recitation), and failure to graduate. To optimize guidance for female students with conditional moral behavior, individual counseling services with a Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) approach are provided. This study aims to discuss the implementation and results of CBT as a counseling guidance method for a fenale students with conditional moral behavior who experiences cognitive distortion, namely the assumption that she is difficult to change and useless, as well as the thought that she is considered insignificant and viewed negatively by others, which affects her performance as a manager. The research method used is qualitative field research in the form of a case study, with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The implementation of individual counseling services with a CBT approach for female students with conditional moral behavior is carried out in three counseling stages: preparation, implementation, and final stages, and is conducted in five meeting sessions, which include four core stages: assessment, goal setting, technique implementation, evaluation, and termination. The results show that the counselee becomes more confident, performs tasks well, and is able to control her emotions. This study is expected to serve as a reference source for addressing similar problems and as one of the efforts to improve the counseling process in Iskamic Boarding School.
