Abstract

The philosophy of the School of Isfahan represents a pivotal intellectual movement within the Islamic tradition, offering an integration of reason, intuition, and revelation. This study aims to analyze the philosophical patterns of Isfahan thinkers, specifically Mulla Sadra, in establishing an epistemological foundation for spiritually-oriented knowledge through the lens of sacred science. This research employs a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were gathered from both classical and modern literature, including the primary works of Seyyed Hossein Nasr, and subsequently analyzed using content analysis techniques. The findings indicate that the School of Isfahan positions reality as a hierarchical unity originating from God, where concepts such as the gradation of being (tasykik al-wujud) and substantial motion serve as the basis for understanding science as a means to attain ultimate truth. In contrast to modern science, which tends to be secular and materialistic, the perspective of sacred science in Isfahan asserts that nature consists of signs (ayat) reflecting Divine presence. This study concludes that the philosophy of the School of Isfahan contributes significantly to constructing an integrative and holistic paradigm of knowledge. Reconstructing this thought is essential for reviving an Islamic intellectual tradition capable of balancing the rational, empirical, and spiritual dimensions of humanity.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the phenomenon of the adolescent moral crisis in the digital era, which has become increasingly concerning, evidenced by a loss of etiquette (adab) and character degradation within cyber spaces. This condition poses a significant challenge for educational institutions, particularly boarding schools, where restricted technological access often triggers an explosion of immoral behavior once students regain digital freedom. This study aims to formulate the concept of moral resilience from the perspective of Islamic Education (PAI) as a strategy for strengthening student character. The method employed is qualitative research with a literature study approach and content analysis. The findings indicate that moral resilience in Islamic Education is rooted in three main pillars: Istiqamah (consistency/steadfastness), Izzah (self-dignity), and Muraqabah (mindfulness of Divine supervision). These three pillars are integrated into a strategic curriculum design through moral reasoning-based learning and authentic evaluation models. This study concludes that strengthening moral resilience is capable of transforming external compliance into solid internal control, ensuring that adolescents maintain moral integrity even when navigating the boundless digital environment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the obstacles in the implementation of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum and formulate strategic solutions to improve learning effectiveness. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study conducted in educational units. Data collection techniques included observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, with data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the PAI curriculum has not been optimal, which is characterized by the dominance of teacher-centered learning methods, limited pedagogical and professional competencies of teachers, and gaps between learning planning and implementation. In addition, external factors such as the family environment, society, and the development of information technology also influence the effectiveness of PAI learning. The impact of these various obstacles is seen in the less than optimal achievement of learning objectives, particularly in the affective and psychomotor aspects of students. Therefore, strategic solutions are needed in the form of improving teacher competency through continuous training, optimizing facilities and infrastructure, developing a comprehensive evaluation system, and strengthening collaboration between schools, families, and the community. This research is expected to contribute to the development of a more effective, contextual, and adaptive PAI curriculum implementation to meet the challenges of the times.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze QS. Al-Jumu’ah:10 as a conceptual foundation for the development of Islamic economics education based on Qur’anic values, particularly in integrating spirituality, work ethics, and economic productivity. The research employs a qualitative approach with a library research design through thematic content analysis (maudhu’i tafsir). Data were collected from the Qur’an, classical and contemporary tafsir literature, as well as scholarly articles on Islamic work ethics and Islamic economics education published between 2023–2026. The findings indicate that QS. Al-Jumu’ah:10 constructs a balanced paradigm between worship and economic activity, positioning work as an act of worship grounded in divine consciousness. The study identifies three main values: spirituality, Islamic work ethic, and economic productivity, which together form an integrated epistemological framework for Islamic economics education. However, the implementation of these values in current Islamic economics education remains partial and tends to be overly technical, with limited internalization of spiritual dimensions. This study concludes that QS. Al-Jumu’ah:10 can serve as a philosophical and epistemological basis for reconstructing Islamic economics education toward a more holistic and value-based system. The implication of this study is the need for curriculum integration that emphasizes Qur’anic values, ethical formation, and spiritual awareness in economic learning.

Abstract

Egypt has been one of the most important centers for the development of Islamic intellectual movements in the Arab world, particularly from the 19th to the early 20th century. During this period, two major currents emerged that significantly shaped the intellectual dynamics of the Muslim community: traditionalism and modernism. Traditionalism sought to preserve the authority of classical scholarly heritage, the interpretive methods of earlier scholars, and religious educational systems rooted in long-established Islamic institutions. In contrast, modernism arose as a reformist movement advocating for the reinterpretation of Islamic teachings in order to align them with contemporary developments, scientific progress, and socio-political change. The debate between these two currents not only reflects differing approaches to understanding religious texts but also illustrates the broader effort of Muslims to respond to the challenges of modernity and colonialism. This article aims to analyze the development of Islamic intellectual movements in Egypt by highlighting the background of their emergence, their key characteristics, and the influence of both traditionalism and modernism in shaping Islamic intellectual discourse. This study employs a library research method by examining various sources related to the history and thought of Islam in Egypt. The findings indicate that the interaction between these two currents has produced a dynamic intellectual landscape that has significantly influenced the trajectory of Islamic reform in the Muslim world. However, this study is limited by its reliance on a library research method and secondary sources, which may not fully capture contemporary empirical dynamics of Islamic intellectual movements in Egypt; therefore, future studies are recommended to employ field research, interviews, or comparative analyses with other Muslim countries to obtain more comprehensive findings.

Abstract

The community of Nagari Panti Selatan practices a unique tradition involving the use of shrouds (kain kafan) and acid water during the slaughtering of sacrificial animals. This tradition exhibits distinct characteristics compared to the general Islamic procedures for slaughtering sacrificial animals. This study aims to describe the implementation process of this tradition and to analyze it from the perspective of ‘urf (customary law) in Islamic jurisprudence. This research is a qualitative field study. Primary data were gathered through interviews with traditional leaders, religious figures, and relevant stakeholders, while secondary data were obtained from books, academic journals, and theses related to the research theme. Data collection methods included interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that the shroud is used before the slaughter to cover or shelter the animal (known as the unduang-unduang tradition), symbolizing the sanctity and sincerity of the ritual purely for the sake of Allah SWT. Meanwhile, the acid water (a mixture of water, lime slices, and ground rice) is used to purify the animal and is interpreted as a symbol to eliminate animalistic traits such as greed, stubbornness, and arrogance within the person offering the sacrifice. From the perspective of Islamic law, although there are no specific textual regulations regarding this practice , the tradition in Nagari Panti Selatan is categorized as ‘urf sahih (valid custom) since it embodies positive values, does not contradict Islamic law, and does not cause any harm or kemudharatan.

Abstract

The development of the Society 5.0 era encourages the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Islamic Religious Education learning. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the opportunities, challenges, and projections of AI integration in Islamic Religious Education learning. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with literature review and content analysis techniques. The results show that AI has the potential to create adaptive and personalized learning, increase motivation, encourage media innovation, and improve the effectiveness of learning evaluation. However, in the process there are challenges such as shifting value orientations, limited teacher digital literacy, the validity of religious material, ethical issues, and the risk of student dependency. Future projections indicate that AI will evolve towards data-driven adaptive learning with the role of teachers as facilitators and value directors. Thus, the use of AI in Islamic Religious Education needs to be carried out in a balanced manner between technological innovation and Islamic values.

Abstract

The massive advancement of digital technology demands a reconstruction of the Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum to remain relevant to the characteristics of the digital native generation and strengthen students' religious literacy in the era of information disruption. This study aims to formulate the concept of digital-based curriculum development and analyze the effectiveness of integrating Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) technology in enhancing students' religious literacy. The method employed is library research with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data sources are classified into primary data, consisting of fundamental curriculum theory literature, and secondary data, comprising accredited scientific journal articles and related policy documents. The data collection technique utilizes digital documentation studies through Google Scholar and Sinta databases, while the data analysis technique applies content analysis through reduction, categorization, interpretation, and drawing conclusions. The results indicate that: (1) The characteristics of the PAI digital curriculum systematically integrate goals, multimedia materials, and interactive strategies while maintaining moral-spiritual values as the ultimate achievement; (2) IFP integration transforms conventional classroom climates into participatory, multimedia, and contextual learning ecosystems; (3) This IFP-based curriculum is proven to holistically boost students' religious literacy while serving as a preventive instrument against online radicalism narratives by providing access to authoritative digital sources; (4) The implementation of this curriculum still faces challenges, such as infrastructure limitations and teachers' digital competence, thereby requiring adaptive curriculum models and sustainable technology training.
