Abstract

The Indonesia Smart Card for College (KIP-K) program is a government policy aimed at expanding access to higher education for underprivileged communities while simultaneously supporting poverty alleviation efforts, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) point 1, namely No Poverty. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the KIP-K program using William N. Dunn's policy evaluation indicators, which include effectiveness, efficiency, adequacy, equity, responsiveness, and accuracy. The study uses a qualitative approach through a literature study method by reviewing scientific journals, government reports, policy documents, and various other relevant sources. The results show that the KIP-K program has made a positive contribution to increasing access to higher education and reducing economic barriers for students from underprivileged families. However, the implementation of the program still faces several obstacles, such as inaccurate targeting of aid recipients, delays in disbursement of funds, adequacy issues in certain regions, weak supervision, and less than optimal transparency in program management. These findings indicate that the success of the program is not only determined by the amount of educational assistance provided, but is also influenced by the quality of governance, recipient data validation, and the policy evaluation system implemented. Therefore, strengthening the evaluation mechanism and program governance is an important step in increasing the effectiveness of KIP-K to support sustainable poverty alleviation.

Abstract

This study was conducted to carry out a more in-depth examination of the relevance of the Merdeka Curriculum to Al-Ghazali's educational philosophy. The study investigates the values embedded within the Merdeka Curriculum and subsequently connects them to Al-Ghazali's educational thought, with the aim of identifying the points of relevance between the two. This research employs a qualitative approach through a library research method, with data analyzed using content analysis. The findings of this study conclude that the educational concepts found in the Merdeka Curriculum are relevant to Al-Ghazali's educational philosophy. First, in terms of educational objectives, both place equal emphasis on character development and moral formation. Second, regarding the characteristics of educators, both position the teacher as a transmitter of knowledge and a living example in daily life. Third, learners are required to be actively engaged in the learning process and to embody noble moral values.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the use of digital storytelling in teaching English narrative texts to students of SMPS Al-Falah Beringin Tambelangan using a qualitative descriptive approach. The focus includes the learning process, development of vocabulary and listening comprehension, improvement of speaking confidence, and student and teacher responses to story-based digital media. Data were collected through classroom observations, student and teacher interviews, and documentation such as activity photos, worksheets, story scripts, storyboards, and digital storytelling products. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, conclusion drawing, and triangulation techniques. The findings reveal that digital storytelling helps students who initially face limited vocabulary, difficulty in understanding oral narratives, and low confidence in using English. Through stages of model reading, drafting, storyboarding, voice recording, pronunciation revision, and presentation, students experience more concrete, collaborative, and meaningful narrative learning. Interview results also show that this strategy supports teachers in integrating narrative text structure with language production practice, although it requires proper time management, resources, and guidance. The study concludes that digital storytelling is a relevant alternative for improving students’ English skills in narrative text learning when implemented gradually and accompanied by process and product assessment.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the forms of linguistic politeness found in TikTok comments on the @kompascom account related to political news content based on Leech’s (1983) politeness principles. This topic is important to examine because TikTok has developed into a major digital public space in Indonesia with a very high level of interaction, particularly regarding political content. The freedom to comment in digital spaces often gives rise to various forms of speech, ranging from polite expressions to provocative statements. Therefore, this study investigates how TikTok users demonstrate linguistic politeness when responding to political news content on the @kompascom account. Previous studies have discussed linguistic politeness on TikTok in general; however, none have specifically examined political news content on the @kompascom account. Thus, this study fills that research gap. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a pragmatic approach. The data consisted of 10 comments selected purposively from the comment section of the @kompascom account during the period of March–April 2026. The data were collected through observation and documentation, then analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with theoretical triangulation used to ensure validity. All comments analyzed fulfilled the six politeness maxims proposed by Leech, namely the tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. The dominant pattern found was the delivery of criticism in a subtle manner and the establishment of agreement before expressing disagreement. The findings indicate that linguistic politeness norms are still practiced by TikTok users in the context of digital political discussions, demonstrating that communication ethics within Indonesian digital spaces have not entirely diminished and may serve as an empirical foundation for the development of digital literacy on social media platforms

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in the dual system of school and Islamic boarding school (pesantren), particularly in integrating formal educational values with pesantren traditions. This research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design conducted in a pesantren-based educational institution. Data collection techniques include observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that PAI teachers play a strategic role as value mediators, learning facilitators, and role models in harmonizing formal curricula with pesantren culture. This integration is reflected in the learning process, religious habituation, and the internalization of moral values in students’ daily lives. However, several challenges were identified, including differences in pedagogical approaches, time constraints, and students’ adaptation to the dual system. This study contributes to the development of an integrative educational model that bridges academic and spiritual needs of students.

Abstract

The rapid growth of tourism not only has a positive impact on the community’s economic growth but also gives rise to social issues, such as an increase in the number of underage children working as street vendors and accessory sellers in tourist areas. This study aims to analyze the impact of tourism on underage child labor and to identify the factors that cause children to become involved in such economic activities. This study employs a qualitative approach using the case study method. Data collection techniques involved direct observation and in-depth interviews with child workers, parents, and the local community in the Kuta Mandalika tourist area. The results indicate that family economic factors are the primary cause of children working in the tourist area. Work activities take place after school until the afternoon, thereby reducing children’s time for studying and playing.

Abstract

The division of nagari is a decentralization policy aimed at improving the effectiveness of governance, bringing public services closer to the community, and accelerating development and community empowerment. However, the implementation of this policy does not always have the same impact on every area resulting from the division. This study aims to analyze the impact of the division of Muaro Kiawai Barat Nagari on governance in Gunung Tuleh Subdistrict, West Pasaman Regency, and to identify the challenges faced following the division. The study employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive research design. Research informants were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using qualitative data analysis techniques with validity testing through source triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the village division has had a positive impact on governance, as evidenced by increased accessibility of public services to the community, development initiatives that are more responsive to community needs, enhanced community development efforts, and the implementation of community empowerment programs. On the other hand, there are still negative impacts in the form of development constraints due to limited budgets and the lack of optimal sustainability of community empowerment programs because Nagari-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) have not yet been established. The main challenges faced by the nagari government are budget constraints and the suboptimal management of community empowerment programs.
