Abstract

The application of entrepreneurship in educational institutions by school principals can be through the management of programs that can grow and develop their schools in producing real work that is highly competitive in order to prepare the future of their students in the midst of the complex challenges of entering Industry 4.0. This study aims to determine the spirit of entrepreneurship in education leadership based on religion, philosophy, psychology and sociology. This research is a type of library research by collecting library data, taking notes and reading and processing research materials. The results of the study show that 1) Success in entrepreneurship will come to someone who carries out the teachings of Islam in their activities, and always tries and does not give up in running it. 2) The essence of entrepreneurship for educational leadership or school principals is not making him an entrepreneur but making him an agent of change for creative ideas, innovations, his findings, implementing competitive models, approaches, management and leadership strategies and producing quality for his educational institutions. 3) The ability that must be possessed by an educational leader in carrying out his role as an entrepreneur in an educational institution is to have an entrepreneurial spirit, attitude, and behavior. 4) The entrepreneurial influence of educational leadership in terms of the social environment, the creativity and innovation of an educational leader can realistically be utilized for the benefit of students, teachers and institutions as well as for the community using graduates who are competitive and useful in society. ABSTRAK Penerapan kewirausahaan pada Lembaga Pendidikan oleh kepala sekolah dapat melalui pengelolaan program-program yang dapat menumbuhkan dan mengembangkan sekolahnya dalam menghasilkan karya nyata yang berdaya saing tinggi guna mempersiapkan masa depan peserta didiknya di tengah kompleksitas tantangan memasuki Industri 4.0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jiwa enterpreneurship dalam kepemimpinan pendidikan berbasis agama, filsafat, psikologi dan sosiologi. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis riset kepustakaan (library research) dengan pengumpulan data pustaka, mencatat dan membaca serta mengolah bahan penelitian. Adapun hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa 1) Keberhasilan dalam berwirausaha akan datang pada seseorang yang melaksanakan ajaran agama Islam pada kegiatannya, serta selalu berusaha dan tidak menyerah dalam menjalankannya. 2) Hakikat kewirausaan untuk kepemimpinan Pendidikan atau Kepala Sekolah bukanlah menjadikannya sebagai pengusaha tetapi menjadikannya seorang agen perubahan atas ide kreatifitas, inovasi-inovasi hasil temuannya implementasi model, pendekatan, strategi manajemen dan kemimpinan yang berdaya saing dan menghasilkan mutu bagi Lembaga pendidikannya. 3) Kemampuan yang harus dimiliki seorang kepemimpinan Pendidikan dalam menjalankan perannya sebagai seorang entrepreneur di Lembaga Pendidikan, yaitu memiliki memiliki jiwa, sikap, dan perilaku kewirausahaan. 4) Pengaruh kewirausahaan kepemimpinan Pendidikan ditinjau dari kacamata lingkungan sosial maka kreatifitas dan inovasi dari seorang pemimpin kependidikan secara realistik dapat dimanfaatkan untuk kepentingan peserta didik, guru-guru dan lembaganya serta bagi masyarakat pengguna lulusannya yang mempunyai daya saing dan berguna di masyarakat.

Abstract

Fokus penelitian ini mengkaji soal implementasi pembelajaran tematik berbasis contextual teaching and learning (CTL) pada siswa kelas IV SD pada mata pelajaran Matematika tema pengukuran. Penelitian ini berangkat dari adanya upaya guru dalam penerapan CTL sebagai upaya inovasi pembelajaran Matematika di SD Negeri 050763 Kecamatan Gebang. Melalui penelitian ini diharapkan ada temuan baru terkait dengan model implementasi CTL dalam pembelajaran matematika serta efektivitasnya dalam peningkatan mutu pembelajaran Matematika. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif analisis terhadap pembelajaran matematika tema pengukuran. Sedangkan instrumen pengumpul data menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Adapun sebagai informan dalam penelitian ini yaitu guru Matematika dan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa implementasi pembelajaran tematik berbasis CTL di SD Negeri 050763 Kecamatan Gebang sudah berjalan sesuai dengan karakteristiknya (7 tahap). Hanya saja dalam tahap penilaian autentik masih belum belum memenuhi kriteria. Penerapan model ini memberikan pengaruh terhadap hasil belajar yang lebih baik bagi anak, dibuktikan dengan nilai yang dicapai sudah melampaui KKM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari lebih lanjut tentang konsep Islam pada tahap perkembangan sosial dan memetakan fase-fase perkembangan sosial manusia dalam perspektif lslam yang berasal dari Al Qur'an dan Al Hadis dibandingkan dengan konsep psikologi sebagai salah satu kontribusi ilmiah untuk keberhasilan membesarkan anak-anak di sesuai dengan ajaran Islam. Ini adalah penelitian pusataka dengan mengungkapkan teks-teks dari Al-Qur’an dan Al Hadits serta sumber data relevan lainnya yang dianggap memiliki kajian psikologis. Islam tidak hanya diukur sebatas ibadah, tetapi juga mengatur segenap aspek kehidupan dan masalah-masalah yang muncul dalam masyarakat. Islam merupakan bagian dari masyarakat sehingga terlibat dalam hubungan masyarakat sosial dan memiliki aturan dan tata cara yang telah diajarkan dengan baik dalam bermasyarakat. Ilmu sosial dipandang sebagai ilmu yang memahami atau mempelajari tentang perilaku manusia dengan masyarakat disekitarnya. Dalam ajaran Islam, pandangan sosial telah dikenal mengenai manusia terdiri dari jasad dan roh, hati nurani dan nafsu, keselamatannya bergantung pada kualitas hubungannya dengan Allah dan dengan sesamanya

Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of higher education, the need for effective leadership among doctoral students has become increasingly critical. This research study explores the perceptions of adaptive leadership and the impact of behavioural nudging strategies among postgraduate students in educational management at two private universities in Nigeria. Employing a mixed-methods research design, the study addressed three key research questions and involved 58 participants. The findings revealed that participants acknowledged the importance of adaptive leadership, scoring an average of 4.12 in relevance, yet expressed moderate confidence in their adaptive leadership abilities (mean score of 3.60). Regarding behavioural nudging, participants reported a favourable view of its effectiveness (mean score of 3.45). Still, they stressed the necessity for integrating these strategies with robust support systems, such as mentorship and institutional resources. Key challenges identified included limited resources, inadequate mentorship, and time management issues, which hindered their leadership development. In conclusion, while there is a strong recognition of the significance of adaptive leadership and nudging strategies, systemic barriers remain. The study recommends implementing comprehensive leadership development programs, enhancing mentorship opportunities, integrating nudging strategies into academic support, fostering collaborative learning environments and conducting ongoing research to evaluate the effectiveness of these initiatives. By addressing these recommendations, educational institutions can better equip doctoral students with the adaptive leadership skills necessary to navigate the complexities of their academic and professional journeys.

Abstract

In the rapidly evolving landscape of education, integrating digital technologies is essential for enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. However, successful implementation relies heavily on effective leadership. This research investigates the role of leadership, particularly transformational leadership, in facilitating digital integration within educational contexts. Employing a qualitative research approach, the study engaged school leaders—specifically principals and vice principals—from 30 institutions. The methodology utilised a thought experimental scenarios approach alongside a relevant literature review to gather insights into the experiences and perceptions of these leaders regarding leadership practices and change management processes. The findings reveal that transformational leadership significantly influences the successful adoption of digital technologies by fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Leaders who embody transformational qualities, such as inspiration and individualised support, effectively engage educators and promote a shared vision for digital integration. Additionally, the research highlights the importance of structured change management processes in guiding the implementation of digital initiatives, ensuring stakeholder engagement and continuous evaluation. In conclusion, this study underscores the critical role of leadership in navigating the complexities of digital integration in education. It contributes to the existing body of knowledge by providing a comprehensive theoretical framework that integrates transformational leadership, change management, and constructivist learning theories. The insights gained from this research offer practical recommendations for educational leaders, emphasising the need for ongoing professional development and stakeholder collaboration to sustain successful digital transformation in academic settings.

Abstract

School group dynamics are critical factors influencing students' educational experiences and outcomes. This study investigated the relationship between school group dynamics and students' goal achievement in Universities in Kwara State, Nigeria. The study was guided by two research questions and five research hypotheses. The descriptive survey of the correlational type was adopted for the study. The population of this study comprised 77,984 undergraduates. A sample of 385 undergraduates was selected using purposive and simple random sampling techniques. A researcher-designed instrument titled School Group Dynamic and Students' Goal Achievement Questionnaire (SGDSGAQ) was utilised for data collection. A reliability test was conducted, yielding coefficient values of 0.89. Mean ratings were used to answer the research questions, while Pearson product-moment correlation statistic was employed to test the hypotheses at a 0.05 significance level. The findings of this study showed that school groups in Kwara State Universities are highly available, including social groups, academic groups, political groups, and cultural groups. Similarly, the study showed that students’ achievement goals in universities at Kwara State are high. The study also revealed a significant relationship between school group dynamics and students' goal achievement in Universities in Kwara State. It was recommended that universities enhance the organisation and visibility of these groups by establishing a formal framework for group registration, participation, and leadership. Universities should encourage multidisciplinary collaborations across different types of groups (social, educational, political, and cultural).

Abstract

Head teachers' administrative capacity and leadership heavily influence the effectiveness of basic education in Nigeria. However, in many public basic schools, particularly in Kwara State, systemic challenges such as overpopulation, inadequate infrastructure, and insufficient funding hinder effective school leadership. This paper investigates head teachers' leadership responsibilities, challenges, and prospects within the Nigerian basic education framework. The paper is motivated by growing concerns over declining educational standards and the increasing complexity of school administration roles in the face of limited institutional support. Adopting a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology, this paper synthesises findings from peer-reviewed journals, policy documents, and empirical studies to identify the core administrative duties of head teachers, assess the barriers they face, and propose strategic interventions. The analysis was guided by thematic synthesis and supported by critical appraisal tools to ensure the inclusion of high-quality literature. The paper reveals that head teachers are responsible for various functions, including instructional leadership, resource management, policy implementation, stakeholder engagement, and quality assurance. However, their effectiveness is undermined by student overpopulation, lack of professional development opportunities, indiscipline among staff and students, poor data systems, and inadequate funding. The paper concludes that empowering head teachers through improved training, inclusive leadership models, infrastructure development, and enhanced supervision mechanisms is crucial for educational reform. The paper contributes knowledge by offering a comprehensive framework for strengthening school leadership and guiding future policy decisions in Nigeria’s basic education sector

Abstract

Assessment methods in education significantly influence student performance and motivation. However, standardisation—characterised by variability and inconsistency in assessment practices—challenges educators and learners alike. This research explores the impact of standardisation on student outcomes through a systematic literature review (SLR). The SLR synthesised existing studies to identify key themes regarding the correlation between assessment methods and student performance, the role of feedback, and the importance of fairness in assessments. Significant findings indicate that formative assessments enhance academic performance by providing ongoing feedback, while perceived fairness in assessments boosts student motivation and engagement. Additionally, varied assessment methods contribute to developing lifelong learning skills essential for success beyond the classroom. The study concludes that while traditional standardisation offers consistency, standardisation presents unique benefits that can foster a more equitable and effective educational environment. This research contributes to the field by highlighting the need for flexible assessment practices that cater to diverse student needs, offering recommendations for educators and policymakers to enhance assessment strategies and promote improved educational outcomes. Ultimately, this work underscores the importance of ongoing exploration in educational assessment to create inclusive learning environments that support all students.

Abstract

This study examined the Design and Evaluation of a Gamified Biology Learning App for Senior Secondary Students in Ilorin, Nigeria. The problem addressed is the persistent low achievement of students in biology, attributed to traditional teaching methods that fail to engage learners effectively. The objectives were to develop a gamified learning application for selected biology topics, determine its effect on students' academic performance, and examine students’ attitudes towards the application. The study adopted a quasi-experimental research design using a pretest-posttest control group approach. A total of 80 senior secondary school students were selected through multistage sampling of SS2 students from two senior secondary school in Ilorin Kwara state, which is make up of the experimental and the control group. Data were collected using a Biology Performance Test (BPT) and an Attitude towards Gamified Learning Questionnaire (AGLQ). Findings revealed that students taught with the gamified application performed significantly better than those taught through traditional methods. Additionally, students demonstrated a positive attitude towards the gamified learning experience. Based on the findings, it is recommended that teachers adopt gamified applications to improve learning outcomes in biology. It is suggested that future studies explore the effects of different gamification elements across various science subjects. In conclusion, the integration of gamified learning applications offers a promising approach to enhancing biology education in Nigerian schools.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Manajemen Peserta Didik di SMK Ulil Albab. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Data yang dimuat dalam artikel ini berasal dari jurnal ilmiah terkait Manajemen Peserta Didik serta adanya analisis lapangan yang bertempat di SMK Ulil Albab. Isi pembahasan jurnal ini memuat tentang Perencanaan PPDB, Proses Pembelajaran, Pengembangan Pendidikan Karakter dan Manajemen Kedisiplinan Peserta Didik. Manajemen Peserta Didik sangatlah penting bagi lembaga pendidik untuk mengatur serta mengarahkan peserta didiknya agar menjadi lebih baik dengan penanganan yang efektif dan efisien. Bukan hanya untuk menampung peserta didik saja tetapi harus diadakannya pengelolaan yang jelas agar Lembaga Pendidikan tersebut dapat mencetuskan lulusan yang baik dan bermutu.
