Abstract

The teaching of English Language in tertiary institutions has continued to face challenges due to overdependence on traditional methods that limit students’ engagement and comprehension. Despite the global shift towards technology-driven learning, many lecturers encounter difficulties in adopting digital instructional tools, often due to inadequate facilities, poor internet access, unstable electricity supply, and limited technical skills. The study employed a descriptive survey design to examine the use, challenges, and effectiveness of digital instructional tools in English Language teaching in tertiary institutions. A sample of 160 lecturers was selected, and data were gathered using a validated self-structured questionnaire divided into demographic and research sections, with responses rated on a 4-point Likert scale. Reliability was established through Cronbach’s alpha. Descriptive statistics such as frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation were used to analyze research questions, with 2.50 as the decision benchmark. Hypotheses were tested using ANOVA. The findings revealed that lecturers moderately utilized digital instructional tools in English Language teaching, with high usage of projectors, multimedia, and video resources (mean = 3.36–3.46). However, integration faced challenges such as unstable electricity (mean = 3.53), inadequate technology (3.25), poor internet (3.08), high maintenance cost (3.30), and need for training (3.29). Despite these, lecturers perceived digital tools as effective in enhancing engagement (3.22), improving comprehension (3.03), saving time (3.26), extending practice beyond class (3.26), and improving outcomes (3.32). ANOVA showed no significant differences in utilization (p = .917) or challenges (p = .918), but significant differences in effectiveness perceptions (p = .022). The study concludes that digital instructional tools are indispensable in English Language teaching and recommends improved institutional support, training, and provision of modern facilities to strengthen technology integration.

Abstract

The background of this study departs from the gap between increasingly complex professional educator competency demands and performance management practices that have tended to overlook the emotional dimension. Human resource management in educational settings has not fully integrated emotional intelligence capacity as a strategic variable in efforts to improve educator performance quality. This study aims to explore in depth how emotional intelligence can be integrated into the professional educator performance management system, as well as identify patterns, strategies, and barriers that emerge in the integration process. The methodology employed is a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, involving in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentary studies of twelve professional educators across three senior secondary education units in Cirebon City. Data analysis was conducted through thematic analysis techniques using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model. The findings reveal that emotional intelligence plays a significant role as a foundation in three aspects of performance management: setting realistic empathy-based goals, providing constructive feedback, and developing continuous professionalism. It was also found that educational unit leaders with high emotional intelligence are able to create a conducive school climate that directly encourages holistic improvement of educator performance. The study affirms that integrating emotional intelligence into performance management is not merely supplementary, but a core element that determines the effectiveness and sustainability of professional educator empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the management of Islamic education curriculum development based on 21st century competencies, focusing on the gap between the existing curriculum framework and the actual demands of contemporary learning needs. The urgency of this research arises from the persistent misalignment between the normative-ideological foundations of Islamic education and the practical requirements of modern competency-based approaches, including critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity. Employing a systematic literature review methodology, this study critically examined thirty-five peer-reviewed sources published between 2020 and 2025, integrating theoretical frameworks from curriculum management, Islamic educational philosophy, and competency-based education. The findings reveal that effective reconstruction requires a tripartite model encompassing: (1) epistemological reorientation of curriculum design toward tawhidic integration, (2) managerial restructuring of planning, implementation, and evaluation cycles, and (3) contextual adaptation of 21st century skill frameworks within Islamic value systems. This study contributes a conceptual model termed Integrated Competency-Based Islamic Curriculum Management (ICBICM) that bridges normative Islamic values with empirical competency demands, offering practical implications for madrasah administrators, Islamic school principals, and curriculum developers

Abstract

This study examines the reconstruction of Islamic education innovation concepts through the integration of Design Thinking methodology and Islamic values, addressing a critical gap in contemporary Islamic educational management discourse. The urgency of this research stems from the observed inadequacy of existing innovation frameworks in Islamic educational institutions, which tend to adopt secular innovation models without sufficient epistemological grounding in Islamic principles. This study aims to: (1) analyze the conceptual foundations of innovation in Islamic education, (2) examine Design Thinking as a problem-solving framework applicable to Islamic educational contexts, and (3) formulate a reconstructed model of Islamic education innovation that synthesizes Design Thinking stages with Islamic value systems. Employing a systematic library research methodology, this study critically reviewed thirty peer-reviewed sources spanning 2020 to 2025. The findings demonstrate that Design Thinking's five stages — empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test — can be meaningfully reinterpreted through Islamic epistemological lenses, producing an integrated framework termed Islami Design Thinking for Education (IDTE). This model offers transformative implications for madrasah principals, Islamic school curriculum designers, and educational policymakers.

Abstract

Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia face mounting competitive pressures from both domestic and international arenas, yet many continue to operate without a coherent and systematic strategic management framework. This study investigates the application of strategic management principles within Islamic educational institutions as a means of sustaining institutional relevance and competitiveness in the global landscape. The study pursues three specific objectives: (1) to analyze the theoretical foundations of strategic management as applicable to Islamic educational institutions, (2) to examine the principal challenges confronting Islamic educational institutions in the global competitive environment, and (3) to construct a strategic management model that is both managerially rigorous and epistemologically grounded in Islamic values. Employing a systematic library research methodology, this study critically synthesized thirty-two peer-reviewed sources published between 2020 and 2025. The findings yield a strategic management model designated as Islamic Adaptive Strategic Management (IASM), comprising four interconnected dimensions: environmental scanning through Islamic wisdom, strategy formulation based on maqashid al-syariah, strategy implementation through transformational Islamic leadership, and strategic evaluation via shura-based feedback mechanisms. Practical implications for madrasah principals, Islamic university administrators, and educational policymakers are discussed.

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of digital transformation across public service sectors has created an urgent imperative for Islamic educational institutions to fundamentally reform their administrative management systems. Despite growing policy pressure and technological availability, the majority of Islamic educational institutions in Indonesia continue to operate within bureaucratic administrative paradigms that are largely incompatible with the efficiency, transparency, and accountability demands of digital governance. This study investigates the reform of administrative management in Islamic educational institutions within the context of digital governance, pursuing three objectives: (1) to analyze the conceptual foundations of administrative management reform in Islamic education, (2) to identify principal barriers to digital governance adoption in Islamic educational institutions, and (3) to construct a model of digital administrative governance that is both technologically progressive and rooted in Islamic values of amanah, adl, and shura. Employing a systematic library research methodology with thirty-three sources published between 2020 and 2025, the study proposes the Islamic Digital Governance Framework (IDGF), a five-pillar model integrating digital transformation principles with Islamic administrative ethics. Implications for madrasah administrators, educational technology policymakers, and Islamic educational governance scholars are elaborated.

Abstract

Interpersonal conflict within Islamic educational institutions constitutes a persistent yet underexamined phenomenon that significantly affects organizational health, staff performance, and the quality of educational outcomes. Despite the normative expectation that Islamic educational environments should embody harmony and ukhuwah, empirical realities indicate that conflicts among educators, administrators, and other stakeholders remain prevalent and frequently mismanaged. This study investigates the dynamics of interpersonal conflict in Islamic educational institutions and the strategic approaches to their management, pursuing three specific objectives: (1) to analyze the typology and principal sources of interpersonal conflict in Islamic educational institutions, (2) to examine the impacts of unmanaged conflict on institutional effectiveness, and (3) to construct a conflict management model grounded in Islamic values of islah, adl, and hikmah. Employing a systematic library research methodology drawing on thirty-one peer-reviewed sources published between 2020 and 2025, the study proposes the Islamic Constructive Conflict Management (ICCM) model, a five-stage framework integrating contemporary conflict resolution principles with prophetic conflict management approaches. Implications for madrasah principals, Islamic educational administrators, and organizational development practitioners are elaborated.

Abstract

Organizational culture constitutes one of the most powerful yet frequently underestimated determinants of educational quality in Islamic educational institutions. While considerable scholarly attention has been directed toward structural and technical dimensions of educational quality management, the role of Islamic organizational culture as a foundational driver of institutional excellence remains insufficiently theorized and empirically validated in the Indonesian Islamic education management literature. This study investigates Islamic organizational culture as the foundational basis for quality management in Islamic educational institutions, pursuing three objectives: (1) to analyze the conceptual dimensions of Islamic organizational culture and its theoretical relationship with educational quality, (2) to examine the mechanisms through which Islamic organizational culture influences institutional management quality, and (3) to construct a model of Islamic organizational culture development that serves as a strategic foundation for educational quality improvement. Employing a systematic library research methodology drawing on thirty-four peer-reviewed sources published between 2020 and 2022, the study proposes the Tawhidic Organizational Culture Framework (TOCF), a six-dimensional model integrating Islamic values of tawhid, amanah, shura, itqan, tawadhu, and ukhuwah as cultural pillars of quality Islamic educational management.
