Abstract

Abstract. Teaching writing for English foreign students offers very interesting challenges for the few past years, especially in the Indonesian learning situation. The teacher himself must ensure the students understand as well as produced good products of writing in various text types. Based on that assumption, this research described the undergoing process of students in their learning to write using Genre Based Approach. This research is presented qualitatively with the subject of Indonesian college students who are taking English class. The GBA approach in this study developed into four phases that are Building knowledge of the field (BKOF), Modelling the text, Joint Construction of The Text (JCOT), and Independent Construction of Text (ICOT). After students were taught using this approach, they filled out questionnaires to find out the suitability of the GBA steps with the real practice in learning to write. In summary, the GBA approach is applicable and suitable in the practice of teaching writing.

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the implementation of elearning as a distance learning strategy during pandemic coronavirus disease (Covid-19).The effectiveness will be examined from the results of previous studies through metaanalysis methods Meta-analysis is the study of several research results in a similar study. The unit of analysis in the study of meta-analysis of these are documents written are taken from the journals the results of the research are purposive in accordance with the theme of research on the implementation of e-learning in the process of learning. The primary research instrument is there on the researchers themselves aided by the guidance documentation. Data analysis that was carried out was the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative analysis is used to analyze data in the form of numbers and the percentage of e-learning effectiveness. Qualitative data analysis is used for the study of data in the form of descriptive data about the implementation of e-learning. The results showed that the implementation of e-learning was effective as a distance learning strategy during coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.Keywords: E-learning, distance learning, Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19)

Abstract

Abstract. Since Covid-19 was established as a global pandemic and by National DisasterManagement Authority established the status of a national emergency, the government enact work from home since last March. This makes the learning process changed from classical learning to be non-classical or distance learning. This could be said to be minimal preparation because distance learning decisions are taken suddenly as non-classical learning solutions following work from home and study from home decisions. This study aimed to determine the implementation of online learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic in Yogyakarta. The technique samples were taken randomly covering 4 districts and 1 municipality in Yogyakarta. These conditions force all parties to try to maximize the learning process with due regard to all aspects of support. The results showed that sequentially the most widely used applications to assist in distance learning were Google Classroom, What‘s Application, and Zoom Clouds Meeting. The majority of teachers still apply learning model in virtual learning. The 3 popular learning models to be applied are Cooperative, PBL and PjBL. The teacher states that the learning model applied is very helpful for their work to realize a virtual classroom, helping students to better understand the material delivered, because it follows the systematic syntax on the learning model used. The application of learning models in each meeting in virtual classrooms was arranged varied to optimize learning and maximize the saturation experienced by students. In addition, various learning methods are applied to support predetermined learning models.

Abstract

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to describe the practice of learning during thecovid-19 pandemic in Mathematics Educations Department at Teacher Training andEducation Faculty of Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya (UM Surabaya). The research used descriptive explorative methods with qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of students and lecturers in the mathematics education department at Teacher Training and Education Faculty of UM Surabaya. Data collected by documentation, questionnaire, and interview techniques. Triangulation of sources was used to test data validity. Data from students were compared by lecturers‘ data. The data were analysed through three stages, i.e., reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results showed that during the covid-19 pandemic, there are four alternatives learning practices implemented by lecturers. Each alternative consist of 3 stages: delivery, activity, and assessment. The online media used were Zoom, WhatsApp, YouTube, e-mail and Google Meet. The most effective online learning media according to lecturers is Zoom. Meanwhile, according to students, the most effective online media is YouTube. The obstacles faced by students and lecturers are internet network and quota. The learning practices carried out by lecturers during the covid-19 pandemic helped students to keep learning

Abstract

Abstract. During the COVID-19 outbreak, we had to do physical distancing, so that alluniversities in Indonesia conducted online class programs. This research focuses on the segmentation of college student assessment in choosing online learning platforms and in the context of their satisfaction. An empirical survey was conducted on 295 college students who were taught using various online learning platforms through online surveys. The results showed the selection and use of learning platforms significantly influence the level of college student satisfaction. The use of online learning platforms with a combination of Zoom + Google Classroom + WhatsApp application (model 1) becomes a very dominant choice used by college students in online learning when compared to other models

Abstract

Abstract. Online learning (e-learning) as a solution for learning activities during the Covid19 pandemic in Indonesia. This study aims to describe student learning outcomes in developing Classroom Action Research proposals through the Peer and Self Assessments method in e-learning using Moodle and Whatsapp. The study design was a preexperimental design using One Shot Case Study. The research subjects were students of Biology Education Study Program at the University of Muhammadiyah Surabaya who took the Classroom Action Research course in the even semester of the academic year 2019/2020 with a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques through product performance assessment and student response. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the use of Peers and Self Assessment can encourage students to be actively involved in building knowledge, attitudes, and behavior to become independent learners.

Abstract. The learning practice of Q.S. Al Ma‘un by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan gives significantimpact on people civilization and Islamic education as depicted in the film ―SangPencerah‖. The success becomes a magnet which attracts the curiousity about how the, learning practice is conducted. In accordance with it, this research studies learning model of Q.S. Al Ma‘un by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan in the film ‗Sang Pencerah‘. This researh is conduccted with qualitative method. This research shows the learning model of Q.S. Al Ma‘un by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan is supported by the teaching process and the included elements of learnign model. This research resulted in 1) the teaching process of Q.S. Al Ma'un by K.H. Ahmad Dahlan in the film "Sang Pencerah" carried out by paying attention to the elements of the learning process namely teacher, students, curriculum, social culture, psychological surroundings, facilities-infrastructure and 2) K.H. Ahmad Dahlan learning model is applied with contextual, deductive, conceptual and process approaches, SPBM learning strategies, method of repetition, discussion, field experience, and question-answer technique.

Abstract

Abstract. Covid-19, which is pandemic throughout the world, including Indonesia, forcedface-to-face learning to be transformed into distance learning. Distance learning done through various platforms. This research aims to find out what platform was the most enjoyable to use during learning for students. The sample were 119 students from the Family Welfare Education Study Program, Engineering Faculty, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The study conducted from April to May 2020. The research used descriptive qualitative methods. The results showed that 45% of students chose Google Classroom as the most enjoyable platform to use during distance learning, 28% of students chose Zoom, 9% of students chose WhatsApp, and the rest chose on several platforms such as Edmodo, Slido, Quizizz, Schoology, Seesaw, and Google Meet. The main reason for choosing the platform as seen from the effectiveness and ease of access. To keep distance learning enjoyable for students, they create coping strategies for themselves. Respondents did somethings such as journaling, always thinking positively, interacting with friends and family, creating an atmosphere of learning like being in class, and not delaying assignments. When there is free time, they often listen to music, watch movies, play with pets,or get more rest. Keyword: distance learning,joyful learning, enjoyable platform used, coping strategies

Abstract

Abstract.This research aims to describe the self-efficacy profile of students majoring inmathematics education in e-learning during the covid-19. The research subjects were 98 students of IAIN Metro mathematics semester 2, 4 and 6 who took part in e-learning. Students complete the self-efficacy questionnaire and interview guidelines. The results showed that 5.10% of students had very high self-efficacy, 28.57% high, 38.78% moderate, 21.43% low, and 6.12% very low. Furthermore, interviews were conducted with 6 students with high, medium and low self-efficacy criteria. The interview results show that students with high and moderate efficacy are feeling optimistic in carrying out online learning while students with low efficacy feel not optimistic in carrying out online learning. Their efforts have not been optimal due to several obstacles so they are not sure they can reach the learning target optimally. Students with high, moderate, and low self-efficacy have not been able to understand difficult lecture material through online learning. However, they always try to complete the task on time.

Abstract

Abstract. Important language knowledge taproot during school. Preschool Classroomcurriculum can help with language development through various exploration activities,activities that are guided by the teacher, and routine activities. Teachers ' understanding of the potential to expand language development in all the preschool curriculum priests provides many opportunities for children to see the language being used. Specific teaching strategies that are effective in supporting language development include asking questions, buffering language, mediation, and conflict resolution. Activities that combine books, poetry and songs encourage children to develop receptive and expressive knowledge in written language and to develop their receptive and expressive knowledge in spoken language.
