JePKM (Journal of Community Service) is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Institut Agama Islam Insan Prima Misbahul Ulum (IAI-IPMU) Gumawang. The journal focuses on the dissemination of community engagement activities that apply science, technology, and Islamic values to support sustainable community empowerment. The scope of the journal includes community empowerment based on education, social, economic, and religious approaches; the implementation of academic research and expertise in community service programs; participatory and collaborative community development; and the integration of Islamic values in community engagement activities. The journal welcomes manuscripts covering, but not limited to, educational and learning-based community service, creative economy and SME empowerment, social, cultural, and religious community development, public health improvement and environmental sustainability, appropriate technology application, digital literacy and religious literacy enhancement, as well as community service in educational institutions, Islamic boarding schools, and social communities. All submitted manuscripts must be original, practice-based, and demonstrate measurable impact on community development.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran Al-Qur’an di TPA Hidayatul Mubtadi’in dan memberikan edukasi kesehatan dasar bagi balita serta ibu hamil melalui Posyandu di Desa Burnai Sari Mulya, Kecamatan Belitang Madang Raya, Kabupaten OKU Timur. Metode pembelajaran individual diterapkan di TPA guna mengoptimalkan potensi belajar anak, dengan evaluasi melalui tes membaca Al-Qur’an. Kegiatan Posyandu mencakup pengukuran tinggi dan berat badan balita, pengisian buku KIA, serta penyuluhan mengenai pencegahan penyakit dan edukasi persalinan bagi ibu hamil. Program ini dilaksanakan pada 12 Desember 2023 di Poskesdes setempat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman masyarakat di bidang keagamaan dan kesehatan, serta partisipasi aktif dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang anak dan kesehatan ibu.

Abstract

Pembuatan pot bunga lukis dari botol bekas pada siswa kelas V MIN 4 OKU Timur bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kreativitas, meningkatkan kesadaran lingkungan, serta memberikan nilai ekonomis dari barang bekas. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan menggunaan metode ceramah, diskusi, dan praktik langsung yang terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan partisipasi dan antusiasme siswa. Pada awal pelatihan, siswa cenderung ragu dan kurang percaya diri, namun seiring dengan berjalannya sesi praktik dan bimbingan guru, keaktifan serta kreativitas mereka mengalami peningkatan signifikan. Siswa mampu menghasilkan karya yang tidak hanya memiliki fungsi, tetapi juga nilai estetika dan potensi jual. Kondisi ruang praktik yang kurang optimal menjadi tantangan tersendiri, namun dapat diatasi melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang lebih terstruktur dan pengawasan yang intensif. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan keberhasilan dalam mengembangkan keterampilan siswa serta menanamkan nilai pentingnya pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini ditujukan untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi mahasiswa Institut Agama Islam Insan Prima Misbahul Ulum Gumawang, terutama dalam penulisan karya ilmiah berbentuk book chapter. Melalui program ini, diharapkan para mahasiswa memperoleh wawasan serta keterampilan yang memadai guna menyusun book chapter yang berkualitas dan memenuhi standar publikasi ilmiah. Pelatihan ini diadakan di kampus Institut Agama Islam Insan Prima Misbahul Ulum Gumawang, sasarannya adalah mahasiswa yang belum pernah atau pernah memiliki karya dalam bentuk buku, mencoba untuk membuat karya yang dimuat dalam bentuk book chapter. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan dengan mengombinasikan metode ceramah dan praktik, pendampingan intensif oleh narasumber serta sesi diskusi dan umpan balik.  Kegiatan dimulai dengan pemaparan materi mengenai konsep dasar book chapter, pemilihan topik, struktur penulisan, teknik pengembangan konten, serta aspek publikasi dan etika penulisan. Setelah itu, peserta melanjutkan dengan praktik penulisan book chapter yang didampingi oleh narasumber yang berkompeten di bidangnya. Pelatihan ini terbukti mampu meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam penulisan book chapter. Materi yang diberikan memberikan landasan teori yang kokoh, sedangkan sesi praktik serta pendampingan memungkinkan peserta untuk langsung menerapkan ilmu yang diperoleh. Proses diskusi dan umpan balik turut berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas tulisan peserta. Sebagian besar peserta berhasil menyusun draft book chapter yang layak dan siap melanjutkan ke tahap publikasi. Selain itu, pelatihan ini turut mendorong berkembangnya budaya literasi di kalangan mahasiswa Institut Agama Islam Insan Prima Misbahul Ulum Gumawang.

Abstract

Pelaku Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) sering kali terfokus pada aspek produksi, sehingga aspek promosi dan pemasaran menjadi terabaikan. Hal ini berdampak pada rendahnya daya saing dan keterjangkauan produk di pasar. Pelatihan pembuatan media promosi sederhana dengan aplikasi Canva ini ditujukan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan promosi UMKM, khususnya pelaku usaha madu murni di Desa Pematang Sari, Mesuji Makmur, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode library research dan survei lapangan dengan pendekatan pelatihan privat. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta dalam menggunakan aplikasi Canva untuk membuat desain promosi digital. Penggunaan Canva terbukti memberikan dampak positif terhadap strategi pemasaran produk, sehingga membantu pelaku UMKM dalam memasarkan produk madu murni secara lebih efektif dan menarik. Pelatihan ini menjadi langkah strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan kapasitas promosi UMKM di wilayah pedesaan.

Abstract

Pemberdayaan perempuan dalam pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan merupakan salah satu cara untuk memenuhi kebutuhan tanpa harus beli. Lahan pekarang bisa menjadi tempat kegiatan usaha wanita yang mempunyai peranan besar terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan keluarga. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan kesadaran wanita melalui pemanfaatan dan kemampuan wanita untuk berpartisipasi secara aktif dan upaya pemberdayaan pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan. Metode yang digunakan adalah dengan metode yang meliputi beberapa tahapan, yaitu persiapan penyuluhan pelatihan, pendampingan, dan evaluasi. Sasaran kegiatan ini adalah Perempuan atau nantinya menjadi wanita Tani yang akan dikukuhkan menjadi Kelompok Wanita Tani dalam Setiap desa. Upaya pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan budidaya sayuran sangat berdampak baik bagi wanita tani, mampu memberi kontribusi untuk peningkatan ketersediaan sayuran yang sehat dan bergizi untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the professional capacity of teachers at TPQ Al-Qolam in Kranji Village, Paciran, Lamongan, through structured tahfidzul Qur’an coaching. The program was conducted over four weeks with eight coaching sessions, employing participatory and interactive approaches. The primary focus of the coaching was strengthening mutqin memorization techniques and murāja‘ah practices through interactive methods, including regular repetition, understanding the meaning of verses, writing Qur’anic verses, and utilizing instructional media. The results indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ memorization abilities, self-confidence, and motivation to develop a sustainable tahfidz culture. Challenges encountered included time constraints, age-related factors, and adaptation to new methods; however, these were effectively addressed through intensive mentoring and reflective discussion forums. This program not only improved technical skills but also reinforced teachers’ identities as Qur’anic educators. The activity is recommended for replication in other TPQs to support the enhancement of Qur’anic education quality at the grassroots level.

Abstract

The low level of pedagogical competence and the limited ability of teachers at SMP Tahfidzul Qur’an Paleran to design innovative, contextual, and Qur’an-based learning devices highlight the urgent need to enhance teachers’ professional capacity through practical training aligned with the Merdeka Curriculum. The In-House Training (IHT) program was implemented as a strategic effort to strengthen teachers’ pedagogical understanding, technological integration skills, and the development of learning tools relevant to students’ characteristics and Islamic educational values. This training aimed to equip teachers with practical skills in designing differentiated lesson plans (RPP), integrating simple digital technologies, and developing interactive learning media that support 21st-century learning. The program adopted a participatory and product-oriented approach, conducted at SMP Tahfidzul Qur’an Paleran, Jember. The activities consisted of three main stages: preparation, implementation through thematic workshops, and formative evaluation using observation, pre-test, and post-test instruments. The results showed a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of innovative learning design, digital media utilization, and the application of project- and problem-based learning models. Approximately 90% of participants actively engaged in discussions and successfully produced lesson plans and digital media aligned with Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) indicators. The program also fostered professional collaboration and reflective practice among teachers. It is recommended that continuous mentoring be provided through professional learning communities and the development of IHT models integrating Islamic values and educational technology to enhance teachers’ adaptability to digital transformation in education.

Abstract

Village youth play a strategic role in driving locally-based economic development. However, challenges include limited entrepreneurial skills and minimal use of digital technology in managing MSMEs. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge, skills, and motivation of youth in Karang Kemiri Village, Belitang District, East OKU Regency, in the areas of entrepreneurship and digital MSMEs. The community service method is implemented through participatory training, hands-on digital marketing practice, and business mentoring. The results of the activity indicate a significant increase in understanding of entrepreneurial concepts, skills in using social media as a promotional tool, and the emergence of youth initiatives to start businesses based on local products. Therefore, this training is an effective strategy to encourage economic independence among village youth.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen the development of children’s Islamic character through participatory mentoring in Taman Pendidikan Al-Qur’an (TPA) activities in Margokoyo Village, Belitang Jaya District, OKU Timur Regency. As a non-formal Islamic educational institution, TPA plays a strategic role in reinforcing the values of Islamic Religious Education, particularly in the aspects of faith (aqidah), worship (ibadah), and morality (akhlaq). However, preliminary observations revealed that TPA learning activities remain primarily oriented toward the technical ability to read the Qur’an and have not been systematically integrated with Islamic character development. The community service program was implemented using a participatory mentoring approach involving TPA teachers, students, parents, and community leaders. The implementation methods consisted of planning, implementation, and evaluation stages, focusing on character-based Qur’anic learning assistance, habituation of daily religious practices, strengthening moral values through role modeling and educational storytelling, and enhancing the pedagogical capacity of TPA teachers. The results of the program indicate an improvement in students’ religious understanding, positive behavioral changes reflected in increased discipline, politeness, and religiosity, as well as heightened motivation to participate in TPA activities. In addition, TPA teachers demonstrated improved competence in integrating Islamic character values into Qur’anic learning. These findings confirm that structured and contextual participatory mentoring is effective in strengthening the role of TPA as a community-based institution for fostering children’s Islamic character grounded in Islamic Religious Education.

Abstract

Internships are field practice activities that must be undertaken by students of the Undergraduate Program in Islamic Education before completing their final thesis. Through internship programs, students have the opportunity to gain direct experience in real working environments while applying various theories acquired during their academic studies. Student mentoring in the implementation of internship activities at SMA Darul Falah aims to bridge the theoretical learning obtained at the university with professional practice in the field. This community service activity was conducted over a period of two months, from August 22 to October 23, 2025, and involved 12 students from the Islamic Education Study Program. The internship activities were carried out using a classroom teaching practice method. The results of the student mentoring activities included internship preparation, student placement, monitoring of internship implementation, student withdrawal, and the preparation of internship activity reports.
