Abstract

Background: One of the main focus of nutrition problems is stunting in children under five years old. Stunting is a condition of growth failure in children under five years old. There are 100 districts / cities in Indonesia where the incidence of stunting is the highest and is a priority for the government to handle. And 3 of them are in Lampung Province, namely South Lampung 43.01%, Lampung 43.17% and Central Lampung 52.68%. Objective: To determine the relationship between maternal education level and family income with the incidence of stunting in children aged 6-59 months. Methods: This study was an observational analytic with a cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 75 children aged 6-59 months obtained from purposive sampling calculation. Data analysis using chi square test. Results: There is a relationship between maternal education level and stunting with the results, namely the OR value of 3.313 (CI: 1.878 - 5.848) and the p value of 0.000 or p value <0.05.  The test results obtained a p value of 0.000 <0.05.  Conclusion: Low maternal education has a 3.313 times higher risk of stunting (<-2SD) compared to mothers with higher education. Higher maternal education is generally associated with better knowledge on nutrition, access to health services, and adequate parenting. Therefore, exploring the relationship between maternal education and the incidence of stunting may assist in the development of more effective public health policies

Abstract

Background: Health services in Health Care Facilities (Fasyankes) have high risks related to the safety of patients and health workers, which can trigger occupational accidents. Risk control through the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OSHMS) is needed to create a safe and healthy work environment. Objective: This study aims to identify and evaluate the implementation of occupational health and safety management systems in health care facilities, especially in Sekadau Health Center. Methods: This research is a descriptive study with a crosssectional design. Data were collected through observation and validated based on interviews with occupational health program holders, health and safety programs, and doctors. Results: This study shows that the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System (OHSMS) at the Sekadau Health Center mostly runs quite well, especially in policy setting, planning, and reviewing and improving OHS performance. The implementation of the OHS Plan has gone very well. However, weaknesses were found in monitoring and evaluating OHS performance. Conclusion: It is recommended that the Sekadau Health Center strengthen monitoring and evaluation of OHS performance by adding resources and experts in the field of occupational safety and health, to ensure a more thorough and sustainable implementation.

Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional period with rapid growth, where failure to adapt can lead to the risk of juvenile delinquency, including promiscuous sexual behavior, especially in the midst of increasing cases of child marriage. Internal factors such as lack of attention from parents and adolescent curiosity about sexual life can endanger them if not balanced with adequate knowledge. This study aims to describe the level of knowledge about the dangers of free sex among students of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Pontianak. By using Probability sampling method and Quota Sampling technique, the study involved 88 respondents. The results showed that the majority of respondents were 15 years old, with a higher proportion of females than males. The level of knowledge of students about the dangers of free sex was dominated by the good category, with 71 people (80.7%) having adequate knowledge, while 17 people (19.3%) had sufficient knowledge. It is recommended that educational institutions design a comprehensive sex education curriculum and involve the health department to provide sex-related education. Students are expected to increase self-awareness and instill Islamic values. This research can also be the basis for further studies on the role of parents in adolescents' knowledge about the dangers of free sex.

Abstract

Stunting remains a significant public health issue in Pontianak City, with long-term impacts on children's growth and development. This study aims to identify the main determinants of stunting among children under five in Pontianak, determine the dominant contributing factors, and formulate evidence-based policy recommendations for more effective and context-specific interventions. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted using articles from Google Scholar and Scopus, published between 2015 and 2024. Literature was retrieved using the keywords "Stunting" AND "Pontianak" via the Publish or Perish application and selected based on predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The dominant factors contributing to stunting include inadequate protein, calcium, phosphorus, micronutrient intake, infectious diseases (e.g., diarrhea), and poor household sanitation. Moderate factors include maternal height, young maternal age, Posyandu activity, exposure to cigarette smoke, and inappropriate complementary feeding. Some factors, such as exclusive breastfeeding and immunisation, showed mixed results across studies. Reducing stunting in Pontianak requires targeted nutritional interventions, improved sanitation, and strengthened community-based health services tailored to local contexts and supported by evidence-based strategies. Faktor dominan penyebab stunting meliputi rendahnya asupan protein, kalsium, fosfor, zat gizi mikro, infeksi (seperti diare), serta buruknya sanitasi rumah tangga.
