Abstract

This study investigates the influence of intellectual capital (IC) on the performance of Public Service Agencies (Badan Layanan Umum Daerah - BLUD) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, with innovation acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach was employed, utilizing Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) on data collected from BLUDs in the specified region. The findings indicate that IC has a positive and significant effect on both BLUD performance and innovation. Furthermore, innovation is confirmed to partially mediate the relationship between IC and performance, with a substantial total effect of IC on performance. These results support the Resource-Based View and Dynamic Capabilities theories, emphasizing the crucial role of intangible resources and innovative capabilities in enhancing public organization performance. Practical implications suggest that BLUDs should prioritize strengthening IC management through human resource development, knowledge systems, and strategic collaborations, while simultaneously fostering a culture of innovation to improve service quality. This research contributes theoretically by confirming the mediation mechanism of innovation in the IC-performance relationship within the public sector context, and offers policy recommendations for optimizing BLUD operations.

Abstract

This study investigates whether job satisfaction significantly mediates the influence of work environment and work discipline on employee performance at CV Leo Putra Makmur, a growing agro-based MSME in Indonesia. Using a quantitative approach with data collected from 102 employees, the study applied Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to examine direct and indirect relationships among variables. The results show that work environment has a significant effect on both job satisfaction and employee performance. Work discipline significantly affects performance but not job satisfaction. Interestingly, job satisfaction does not significantly influence performance, nor does it mediate the relationship between the independent variables and performance. These findings suggest that while a supportive environment and strong discipline drive performance, job satisfaction may not always play a central mediating role in MSME contexts. The study offers insights for managers aiming to improve productivity through targeted HR strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to conduct a bibliometric analysis of literature on Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and economic growth. This study analyzes scientific publications indexed in the Scopus database for the period 2020-2025 to map publication trends, identify leading journals and authors, reveal collaboration patterns, analyze citation impact, and identify key research themes. The results show an increase in research activity in this field, with "Sustainability (Switzerland)" as the main source of publications. Authors such as Batara Surya and institutions such as Bosowa University have made significant contributions. A global collaboration network has been revealed, with China, the United Kingdom, Spain, South Africa, Pakistan, and Malaysia playing important connecting roles. An article by Myovella G (2020) had the highest global citation impact. Key research themes included "SMEs," "economic growth," "innovation," and "sustainability," indicating the evolution of research focus over time. This research provides comprehensive insights into research developments in the field of MSMEs and economic growth, as well as identifying opportunities for further research. The results of this study are expected to be useful for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers interested in MSME and economic growth issues.
