Abstract

Arabic language instruction at the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah level plays a crucial role in developing students’ basic linguistic competence and religious literacy. However, Arabic learning in primary Islamic schools often faces challenges, particularly low student learning interest caused by conventional teaching methods and limited use of instructional media. This article positions a technology-based Arabic literacy program as an alternative pedagogical approach to address this issue within the context of community service activities (Kuliah Pengabdian Masyarakat/KPM). The main question explored in this study is how the integration of technology-based literacy activities can enhance students’ interest in learning Arabic. The program was implemented through educational seminars and interactive learning activities utilizing digital media such as instructional videos, interactive slides, and Arabic vocabulary audio recordings. The discussion is based on qualitative observations of student participation, enthusiasm, and learning behavior during the program implementation at MI Nahdlatul Athfal. The results indicate that technology-based Arabic literacy activities significantly increased students’ enthusiasm, active participation, and confidence in practicing Arabic vocabulary. Students showed greater interest and positive attitudes toward Arabic learning when digital media were incorporated into the instructional process. These findings suggest that technology-based literacy programs can serve as an effective strategy to improve Arabic learning interest among Madrasah Ibtidaiyah students.

Abstract

Abstract: Lack of adolescents’ understanding of marriage administrative procedures often leads to delays in marriage registration, incomplete documents, and unregistered marriages. This condition is commonly found in rural areas, including Cikadu Village, where access to administrative information remains limited. This Community Service Program (KPM) aimed to improve adolescents’ understanding of marriage administration procedures through structured socialization activities. The methods used included educational socialization, interactive discussions, and simulations of the marriage registration process at the Office of Religious Affairs (KUA). The focus of the material covered marriage documents, the marriage registration flow at the KUA, administrative requirements, and technical aspects that are often unknown to adolescents. The results showed an improvement in adolescents’ knowledge and awareness regarding the completeness of documents and the importance of legal marriage registration. This activity is expected to serve as a preventive effort in preparing adolescents for marriages that are legally valid according to both religious and state regulations.

Abstract

Bullying remains a persistent social issue in school environments and has significant negative impacts on students’ psychological well-being, sense of safety, and character development. This community service activity aims to prevent bullying through empathy-based character education among students at SMPN 2 Buahdua. The program was implemented through a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach involving students and school stakeholders as active participants in problem identification, program implementation, and reflection processes. The activities included stop bullying educational socialization, interactive discussions, simulations, and collective reflection emphasizing empathy, mutual respect, and social responsibility. The results indicate an increase in students’ awareness of bullying dangers, the development of empathetic attitudes in social interactions, and enhanced student participation in creating a safe and inclusive school environment. Therefore, empathy-based character education delivered through participatory approaches can serve as an effective preventive strategy in bullying prevention within school settings. In addition, the participatory learning process encourages students to actively express opinions, share social experiences, and develop critical awareness toward negative behaviors in peer interactions. The implementation of collaborative educational strategies also strengthens the role of schools as social institutions that promote positive character formation and foster harmonious interpersonal relationships among students in a sustainable manner.

Abstract

Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) is a form of student community engagement aimed at applying academic knowledge, skills, and values in real social contexts. One of the main focuses of the KKN Community Service Program (PKM) in Hariang Village is the strengthening of religious learning at Madrasah Diniyah Takmiliyah Awaliyah (MDTA) as a nonformal Islamic educational institution that plays an important role in shaping the character and moral values of the younger generation. This program was implemented through learning assistance in Al-Qur’an studies, fiqh of worship, aqidah, and akhlak by applying creative, innovative, and participatory learning methods that are tailored to the characteristics of the students. The implementation of the KKN program showed positive results, as indicated by an increase in students’ learning motivation, improved understanding of religious materials, and the development of religious attitudes and noble character (akhlakul karimah) in daily life. In addition, the presence of KKN students provided support for MDTA teachers in developing more varied, engaging, and effective learning methods. Thus, the KKN program made a tangible contribution to improving the quality of nonformal religious education in Hariang Village. This article positions the KKN activities as a form of community-based empowerment using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, which emphasizes active collaboration among students, MDTA teachers, students, and the local community in the processes of planning, implementation, and continuous evaluation.

Abstract

This Community Service Program aims to empower the community of Hariang Village, Buahdua District, Sumedang Regency through a sustainable planting program using the Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach. The main issue addressed is the underutilization of productive land and the low awareness of sustainable agricultural practices that support long-term economic development. Community empowerment is positioned as a participatory process in which local residents are actively involved in all program stages. The PAR method was implemented to encourage community participation in problem identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Activities included planting white teak and durian trees, as well as cultivating corn and chili in collaboration with local residents, the Women Farmers Group, and village authorities. Data were collected through observation, participation, and documentation. The results indicate increased community participation and awareness of sustainable agriculture. The community also showed improved motivation to manage productive land more effectively. Furthermore, these activities demonstrate potential economic benefits that may contribute to community income in both the short and long term. This program shows that PAR-based sustainable planting can be an effective model for community development focused on environmental sustainability and economic self-reliance.
