Abstract

The Qur’an as the source of the highest Islamic teachings at first was not fixated on written narration but verbal transmission. However, with the spread of Islam out of the social and cultural sphere of Arabic, oral transmission is felt to be isufficient to overcome the rapid growth of the Musliim community. Therefore, the Koran develops with the simple writing model. The history of the Qur’anic text does not stop at the codification of manuscripts, but it continues on publishing and printing. One of them is thematic quran which is based on the subject of the reader, such as the Qur’an and its translation published by Syamil Alquran edition special for woman. This research to describe the systematic presentation of the Qur’anic manuscripts and the translation of the issue of the special for woman edition of syamil Alquran and the student reception of the mushaf. Then the method used is qualitative literature and the field with the Hans Robert Jauss reception theory approach.

Abstract

The nation of Indonesia is one country that has a diversity of abundant, better than tribe, language, or Religion., in the context of this community demanded to apply the meaning of tolerance, in order to realize a pluralistic nation, in accordance with the motto which is sturdy in Indonesia is Bhinneka tunggal Ika which means “Different but still one”. However at this time very much the presence of various conflicts among the religious, so that in reality a religion that teaches to love each other no longer be the role of in peace and harmony, Indonesian society is multi cultural has a face the paradox of change. Islam is the religion of the majority in the community believe Indonesia, therefore, in the development of attitudes and the nature, muslims must demonstrate the value of tolerant to the society, in the religion of Islam Alquran as a book of guidance for muslims, Alquran has explained or has given way for the people of Islam in solving a problem which on the whole concerns the relationship of the social good on a community or personal. that is the reality that in many communities embraced different religions. The religion of Islam trying to dig up the Islamic concept of tolerance that is being obscured its meaning, especially to the younger generation. In a context like this, then we will study the Tafsir of the verses of the holy Quran version Tafsi>r Marah} Labi>d by Shaykh Muhammad Al-Nawawi Al-Jawi.

Abstract

This paper tries to discuss the new direction of the development of Quran studies in the discourse of classical and contemporary interpretations. Specifically, this paper explores the thoughts of Ibn Kathir and Fazlur Rahman as a comparative study to see the development of the Quran’s interpretation methodology. It can be said that, Ibn Kathir's interpretation in understanding the Quran is textual. While, the development of Quran in  the contemporary era in relation to Fazlur Rahman's thinking tends to be contextual. There are several new methodologies offered by Fazlurrahman in understanding texts, including: first, looking at the context of asbab al-nuzul verses; second, the approach (double movement); and third, the logical synthesis approach. This research employed a literature study approach to find related discussions through books, journals, and articles that were relevant to see the problems. The conclusion shows that Q.S. An-Nisa' 4: 3 according to Ibn Kathir is a text of polygamy, while according to Fazlur Rahman, it is not seen as a command to practice polygamy but monogamy in the context of marriage.

Abstract

Educational values incorporated in Fawa>tih} al-Suwar are as tanbi>h (warnings) and guidelines for life, as knowledge embracing many secrets of Allah SWT that cannot be known, as a motivation to always seek knowledge and be taqarrub to Allah Swt, and as a doubt dissolver about Quran, especially for Muslims who are weak in faith because they are influenced by the words of the enemies of Islam which state that the Quran is the product of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. The presence of munasabah that understands the correlation between verses or surahs in Quran certainly has good wisdoms in developing education. Thus, the concept of munasabah is a critical way of examining the interrelationships between verses or between surahs in Quran.

Abstract

This research describes about the model of using of the rule of rasm in hadhf and ithbat alif in three letters, namely the letter Yasin, al-Rahman, and al-Waqi’ah. The object of this research study is the Indonesian standard Manuscripts (MSI) made by the Ministry of Religion and ancient Manuscripts in the Tebuireng Islamic Boarding School (MQT). Taking of these two Manuscripts is intended as the first step to see the development of using of the rasm in Manuscripts in Indonesia started from the ancient Manuscripts until the formation of Indonesian standard Manuscripts. From the results of the analysis of researchers in seeing the application of h}adhf and ithba>t alif rules on the two Manuscripts, it concludes that the Indonesian standard Manuscripts do the mixed rules in writing alif. While the ancient Manuscripts collection of Tebuireng Islamic boarding schools are more likely to make detrmaining alif (ithbat).

Abstract

Historically, the practice of reading the Qur'an had already existed as Islam entered the archipelago. Unfortunately, the tendency of Qur’anic studies has long been dominated by the tafsir and translation of Qur’an. In the 20th century, the studies of the Qur’an came through a different tendency, namely Tajweed. This paper intends to examnine a treatise of “Miftah al-Lisan” written by K.H. Abdul Djamil Nawawi. This treatise is the science of Tajweed that departs from a social phenomenon, namely the community of Quranic tadarus. The media to deliver this treatise are local languages. The other characteristic of “Miftah al-Lisan” is that it does not only explain Tajweed, but it also contains laws, verbal solutions, and advice for students and teachers.

Abstract

Humans are the most perfect creatures of Allah Swt. Every human has different fingerprints. Even for two people who are identical twins, they have the characteristics of fingerprints that are not the same. Therefore, fingerprints are used in identity cards that are very important for their owners and are used throughout the world. Previously, people valued fingerprints as ordinary arches without special meaning. But in the Qur'an, Allah gave references to fingerprints, which did not attract people's attention at that time, and direct attention to the importance of fingerprints, which can only be understood today. The method used in this study is literature review using content analysis techniques and the data sources in this study are books, thoughts, and writings related to the research object. The results of this study show that the Qur'an has stated that fingerprints are human identification. In the Qur'an, it is mentioned that it is easy for Allah to revive a human being after his death, which is specifically mentioned in the Qur'an, Surah al Qiyamah verses 3-4.

Abstract

This paper is an academic step to discover a scientific fact through the study of hadith texts that legitimize the ideological truth of the HTI group. In generating radical thoughts, the HTI group has a main reference, a book entitled Nizam al-Hukm fi al-Islam, written by the founder of Hizb al-Tahrir, Taqiyuddin al-Nabhani. In this study, the themes of the hadiths discussed are those related to the khilafah (caliphs) contained in the book and in the sub-chapter of Al-Khilafah (the Caliphate). The book was chosen because it is the main reference book of HTI that cites hadiths which are textually radical. Some key points that become the objectives of this study are: (1) What is the status of the authenticity of khilafah  hadiths?, (2) How is the contextual understanding of khilafah hadiths?, and (3) What are the implications of HTI's understanding of khilafah hadiths in the context of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia?

Abstract

This article examines a dialogue between Al-Qur’an and the Bible which have many similiarities particularly on the topic of stories. However, the studies on them have always been conducted separately, resulting in confusion among mufassirs when they try to understand the stories in the Qur’an based on the structure of the verses. In order to overcome this confusion, Gabriel Said Reynolds offers a method of reading Al-Qur’an as a homily. The Bible becomes the comparison and helps mufassirs to get detail information related to the same topics. One of the examples is the case of Sarah’s laughter. Mussafirs have different opinions on it because of the structure of verses written in the Qur’an. According to Gabriel Said, the problem would not appear if they wanted to study the Bible. The Bible states that Sarah’s laughter was caused by the good news about the birth of Isaac.

Abstract

At-Tarbiyyatul Wathoniyyah Islamic Boarding School (PATWA) located in the village of Mertapada Kulon, Astanajapura District, Cirebon Regency, is one of the Islamic boarding schools that conducts a routine reading of Surah Yasin, or commonly known as Surah Yasin Fadilah, in which there are dhirk and prayers. The phenomenon was used as the object of this study with some research questions formulated, which are (1) why do they conduct a routine reading of Surah Yasin Fadilah?, (2) what is the purpose of reading Surah Yasin Fadilah?, and (3) how does the practice of reading Surah Yasin Fadilah affect the community?
