Abstract

The informal business sectors or small medium enterprises will surely depend on good and quality human resources to drive their business assets. This is because human resources are a basic element of every company. So every company, especially small medium enterprises will always try to improve employee productivity. One of the factors that can increase productivity drastically is work discipline. This research was conducted at UMKM Batik Semarang 16 producing batik in Semarang city, aiming to know the application of work discipline. The data were collected by participant observation technique, in-depth interview to business leader, and business worker in UMKM Batik Semarang 16. Data analysis was done gradually by describing the condition (description), interpreting with theory (interpretation) and explaining (explanation) from data source obtained. The results of the analysis are compared with supporting theories, among them Malayu Hasibuan (2000: 192) states that there are several factors that affect the level of discipline of employees of a company, such as penalties or written rules, role model of leadership, firmness of leadership, remuneration ,and supervision inherent / monitoring . This study concludes that the discipline of work in UMKM Batik Semarang 16 has been running well, especially in the role model of leadership, firmness of leadership, and supervision inherent / monitoring. But in terms of dimensions of punishment sanction and remuneration must be improved. Suggestions that can be given are 1) Required mechanism of interpretation and socialization of routine about work discipline 2) The need to hold and apply compensation or remuneration and promotion of position to improve discipline worker of workers consistent in discipline. In addition, it is necessary to increase the training or deepening of batik science to the workers.

Abstract

Siloam Hospital is a healthcare provider company under the auspices of Lippo Group. One of the branches of Siloam Hospital is located on Jalan TB Simatupang, South Jakarta. In the business development division of Siloam TB Simatupang Hospitals, South Jakarta, it is known that there are employee job satisfaction problems seen from the absenteeism level which has decreased over the last few years.The aim of this research is to determine the effect of collaborative office space, consist of tangible and intangible aspect, to employee job satisfaction in business development division at Siloam Hospitals, Jakarta. The type of this research is explanatory research, with 40 respondents of samples. Used questionnaire as data collecting with Semantic Differential scale. In the data analysis method used is test of validity and reliability, correlation coefficient (R), regression test, coefficient of determination (R2), significance of t test and F test by using SPSS 16.0The results of this research indicate that the tangible and intangible aspects of the collaborative office space have a significant influence on employee job satisfaction division business development Siloam TB Simatupang Hospital Jakarta. The two variables are tested in stages and both show that tangible aspect (0,662) and intangible aspect (0.403) have strong and pretty much strong relationship to job satisfaction of business development division employee of Siloam TB Simatupang Jakarta Hospital. The amount of donation possessed by tangible aspect variables in the collaborative office space is bigger rather than the intangible aspects of the collaborative office space. The coefficient of determination (R2) for tangible aspect variable in collaborative office space is 43,9% and intangible aspect in collaborative office space is 16,2%.Company is suggested to keep tangible aspect in colaborative office space good and also develop the tangible aspect, so that job satisfaction of employees keeps imrpoved. The same thing going to the intangible aspect, it is necessary to improve and maximize communication and interaction among employees.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of debt to equity ratio (DER) towards price to book value (PBV) through return on equity (ROE) at index LQ45 companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange (IDX) from 2013 to 2016. The population of this research is index LQ45 companies. Sampling method used in this research is purposive sampling that obtains 40 companies as sample. The research data analysis uses Regression test, path analysis and mediation test (Sobel test) by using program of SPSS 21. The result shows that ROE is able to mediate the influence of DER on PBV. This research proves that with the existence of ROE, then the addition of DER could increase PBV. Furthermore, to achieve ROE at index LQ45 companies, DER has to be further improved so that later will increase PBV.

Abstract

Human resources are one of the resources that belong to the company, where the human resources have a very important factor in the success of the company's effort to create a good performance, because the company had though funding sources the great and the good infrastructure and facilities, but when humans working on tasks within his do not contribute with good then it will be difficult for the company to create a good performance. This research aims to know the influence of work environment on performance of employees through the motivation of working as an intervening variable in pt. PLN (Persero) distribution of Central Java and Yogyakarta. This research type is explanatory research. The sampling techniques used in this research is the technique of Probability Sampling and its kind are Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The number of samples taken in this study as many as 101 respondents. In this study, assisted by computer programs to process data that is SPSS 22.0. The results obtained in this study indicate that the independent variable has a positive and significant influence towards the dependent variable, either partially or simultaneous. While the variable interbening used in this research showed there is an indirect influence of variables the dependent variable and independent of a partial mediation. Suggestions in this study was the need to improve relationships between employees in a non physical company. The company must also be able to create competition between employees, so that employees can be more motivated in their work. In addition, the company must conduct the evaluation in terms of the accuracy of the time of employees in work performance, so that the karyawaan can be better again.

Abstract

PT. Sinar Sosro manufactures ready-to-drink tea beverages called Teh Botol Sosro. Teh Botol Sosro has been widely consumed by the public and became the market leader of ready-to-drink tea beverages in Indonesia in 2013-2016 according to Top Brand Index (TBI), but the percentage of people who consume Teh Botol Sosro in Indonesia is declining year by year. This is due to the increasing number of emerging competitors by providing better quality and lower prices thus making people switch to consume competitors product. This research aims to determine how the influence given by product quality and price to Teh Botol Sosro customer loyalty. This type of research is an explanatory type with the help of questionnaire and interview as the tools in collecting data. The amount of the sample used in this research is 100 respondents who ever made a purchase of Teh Botol Sosro at Indomaret located in Tembalang Village. Methods of data analysis used is test validity and reliability, the correlation coefficient (R), regression test, the coefficient of determination (R2 ), the significance of the t-test and F-test. The result of this research shows that product quality and price severally has significant, strong enough and positive influence toward customer loyalty. Two variables have been tested gradually or even together show that product quality (0,613) and price (0,522) simultaneously have strong enough relation with customer loyalty. The amount of contribution owned by product quality is greater than price, coefficient of determination value (R²) for quality product is 37,6% and price is 27,3%. The suggestion in this research is the company can improve the quality of its products related to the suitability of taste variation, durability, and health and safety of Teh Botol Sosro to be consumed, so it could maintain the product quality. The company also suggested to lowered the price of Teh Botol Sosro to be lower than other brands of packaged tea and other types of beverages so the price set is cheaper than the competitor and able to dominate the market again.

Abstract

Beauty cosmetics are one of women’s most important things and basic needs to beautify their appearances and also as a skincare treatment. PT. Paragon Technology and Innovation is the one of manufacturers that creates a beauty cosmetic product. One of its product, Wardah Kosmetik with the tagline “inspiring beauty”, has a market share numbered as 34,5% in 2016 at national level. Meanwhile, at the number of counters from year 2013-2017, Wardah Kosmetik counter numbers in Semarang have decreased in comparison with Kudus which is significantly increasing and developing. That is caused by competition in beauty cosmetics market which is getting tighter both in product quality and advertisement that is used to preserve the hearts of consumers. This research’s aim is to know the influence given by product quality and Youtube advertising to Wardah Kosmetik consumers’ loyalty in Semarang. The result of the research shows that product quality and Youtube advertisements variables have a strong and positive influence to Wardah Kosmetik consumers loyalty in Semarang. Product quality and Youtube Advertisement variable shown as 0,856; it shows that both variables and consumers loyalty have a strong relation. Product quality variable on determination test (R square) shows that 71,9% of it influences consumers loyalty, meanwhile the rest of 28,1% is influenced by another factors. Youtube advertisement variable at determination test (R square) shows a number of 64,1% is influencing consumers loyalty while another 35,9% is influenced by another factors.

Abstract

Susan Spa & Resort Bandungan is a service company offering lodging services such as resorts and SPA. The problems in this research is the fact that employee turnover¸ increased employee absenteeism, low awareness to help each other and low achievement. This indicates low employee performance. Susan Spa & Resort Bandungan need to take attention to factors affecting employee performance to increase work productivity so that can compete with other service companies. The purpose of this study is to identify the influence of commitment organizational, self efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior (ocb) for employee performance (case study on permanent employees Susan Spa & Bandungan Resort) in Semarang Regency. The type of this research using explanatory research. The sample used are 38 respondents respondents permanent employee Susan Spa & Resort Bandungan. The sampling techniques is Saturation Sampling method. The data collection technique are questionnaire and literature review. Data analysis techniques are using validity test, reliability test, cross tabulation test, correlation test, determination test, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, t test, and f test with SPSS 21.0. The conclusion of this study is that there is a positive and significant between, organizational commitment, self efficacy, and organizational citizenship behavior (ocb) influece to the employee performance partially and simultaneously. The recommendation for the company to improve self efficacy of employees from indicators solutional (able to give the best advice), leadership (teamwork) and experience ( experience from failure). In addition, the company also have to improve organizational citizenship behavior (ocb) employees from indicators volunteer to help (help other employees without rewards), competition (to be the best employee), avoid conflict, participation (participation in the activities company), initiative (looking for information of competitors and new trend), and fairness (not spending time to raise the issue).

Abstract

Based on stock price at sectoral index listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the mining sector is decreasing significantly in stock price for two years since 2014, especially on coal mining subsector. This decrease can be affected by many factors. To know these factors, this research is using fundamental analysis with financial ratio analysis. The type of this research is explanatory research with the population of all coal mining subsektor companies that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) year 2013-2016 specifically 24 companies. However, there is only 16 coal mining subsector companies which qualified. The data used is secondary data from the Company’s Financial Statement published at Indonesia Stock Exhange (BEI) in the form of panel data. The analysis technique used is correlation, determination, simple linear regression analysis, multiple linear regression analysis and significance test by using SPSS 21 version data processing application. This research shows that partially EPS have a positive and significant effect on stock price. While the other variable which is ROE, CR dan DER has no significant effect on stock price. Simultaneously, ROE, EPS, CR and DER has significant effect on stock price.   Based on multiple linear regression analysis, EPS has the biggest effect on stock price. Therefore, investors should use EPS factor as a basic of main decision making before investing in coal mining subsector companies.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of work discipline, work motivation and work environment on the performance of employees of production PT Sari Warna Asli Unit V Kudus. The type of research using explanatory research with data collection methods using interviews and data collection tools using questionnaires with a sample of 82 respondents employees of the production of PT. Sari Warna Asli Unit V Kudus uses Probability Sampling method. The analysis technique used validity test, reliability test, simple linear regression, multiple linear regression, t test, and F test with SPSS 16.0. From result of research indicate that work discipline have strong influence to employee performance equal to 75%, work motivation have good effect to employee performance equal to 63% and work environment have good effect to employee performance equal to 65,4% while simultan work discipline, work motivation and work environment strong influence on employee performance of 79,6%. This means that the better the discipline of work, work motivation and work environment then the higher the performance of employees of the production of PT. Sari Warna Asli Unit V Kudus. Job discipline variable to employee performance variable has the greatest influence from work motivation variable and work environment. Based on the results of the study, researchers suggested that PT. Native Color Sari further impose strict sanctions on employees who do not comply with company regulations, pay more attention to security and comfort employees in working for better performance

Abstract

The performance of employees in production department PT Asia Pacific Fibers,Tbk still shows fluctuative numbers and many employees still get C score on their performance. This study aims to determine the effect of organizational commitment and interpersonal communication on the performance of employees with Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) as an intervening variable in the employees of PT Asia Pacific Fibers Production Plant, Tbk Kendal. This type of research is explanatory research. The sample used is 92 respondents. The sampling technique used is random sampling with type of sample is proportional sampling. The data collection techniques used were questionnaires and literature study. Data analysis techniques are correlation test, coefficient of determination, simple linear regression test, multiple linear regression test, t and f significance test, path analysis and test of mediation effect of sobel with the help of program SPPS (Statistical Product and Service Solutions) version 23.0. Based on the analysis, it can be concluded that organizational commitment has a significant effect on employee’s performance and OCB, interpersonal communication has significant effect on performance and OCB, OCB has a significant effect on employee’s performance, and OCB is a mediating factor between organizational commitment and performance, but not a mediating factor between interpersonal communication and employee’s performance.The company sould be improve the factors that can increase organization’s commitment, interpersonal communication and organizational citizenship behaviour, such as improving the welfare of employees, make an open interpersonal communication, and to increase OCB, the employees must increase their self awareness.
