Abstract

Firm value plays a central role in shaping investor perceptions and long-term corporate sustainability, making corporate governance an essential mechanism for ensuring managerial accountability and reducing agency conflicts. In emerging markets such as Indonesia, where transparency and governance quality remain uneven, the effectiveness of governance practices becomes even more crucial in strengthening market confidence. This study investigates how corporate governance, measured using Bloomberg’s Governance Pillar Score (Board Composition, Executive Compensation, Shareholder Rights, and Audit), influences firm value among companies listed in the LQ45 Index during 2019–2023. A total of 31 companies and 140 firm-year observations were selected using purposive sampling based on data obtained from the Bloomberg Database. The study uses unbalanced panel data, and the analysis was carried out using EViews 13 software. The findings show that Executive Compensation is the only governance indicator that has a positive and significant impact on firm value, highlighting the importance of aligning managerial incentives with shareholder interests. Meanwhile, Board Composition, Shareholder Rights, and Audit do not exhibit significant effects, suggesting that these governance dimensions may not yet contribute meaningfully to value creation in LQ45 companies. Overall, the results emphasize that performance-based compensation remains the most influential governance mechanism in shaping market valuation.

Abstract

This study aims to explore how Generation Z employees construct the meaning of compensation satisfaction by examining the financial and non-financial factors that shape their perceptions and experiences. It seeks to understand the subjective meaning they attach to compensation in the workplace. The research also intends to provide insights that help organisations design compensation systems that align with the needs and expectations of younger employees. The research was conducted using a qualitative-phenomenological approach. The research explores the subjective experiences of nine Generation Z informants who are alumni of Diponegoro University and employed across different sectors. The findings indicate that compensation satisfaction is shaped not only by salary but also by the alignment with personal and generational needs, career development opportunities, and organisational culture. Generation Z views compensation as both recognition of effort and a means of achieving well-being, in which non-financial aspects such as work-life balance, learning opportunities, and appreciation are equally important. These insights show that companies should create fair and appropriate compensation systems so that Generation Z employees feel more motivated, engaged, and willing to stay with the company.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of liquidity (Quick Ratio), profitability (Net Profit Margin), capital structure (Debt to Equity Ratio), institutional ownership, and firm size (Ln Total Assets) on the probability of financial distress in property and real estate sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the 2020–2024 period. Financial distress is proxied using the Interest Coverage Ratio (ICR) in the form of a dummy variable, where companies are categorized as experiencing financial distress if ICR < 1. The research sample consists of 23 companies with a total of 115 observations selected through purposive sampling technique. The analytical method used is binary logistic regression with EViews 12 software. The results show that partially, profitability (Net Profit Margin) and firm size (Ln Total Assets) have a negative and significant effect on the probability of financial distress, indicating that the higher the profitability and the larger the firm size, the lower the probability of financial difficulties. Meanwhile, liquidity (Quick Ratio), capital structure (Debt to Equity Ratio), and institutional ownership have no significant effect. Simultaneously, all five independent variables have a significant effect on financial distress with a Prob (LR Statistic) value of 0.0000. The logistic regression model has a prediction accuracy of 81.74% and a McFadden R-squared value of 33.57%, indicating that the model is good in explaining the variation in financial distress. These findings imply that companies with low profitability and small business scale have a higher risk of financial distress, thus requiring serious attention from management, investors, creditors, and regulators in formulating preventive strategies, investment decisions, and supervisory policies for the property and real estate sector.

Abstract

Workplace loneliness is a psychological issue with growing relevance, yet it remains underexplored in Indonesia. This study examines how emotional and social loneliness affect individual work performance in an Indonesian cultural context. Using a quantitative approach, 72 active employees from various sectors completed a structured online questionnaire. The instruments used were the Loneliness at Work Scale (LAWS) and an adapted version of the Individual Work Performance Questionnaire (IWPQ). Data were analysed using linear regression and Spearman correlation. Results indicate that both emotional and social loneliness significantly and negatively influence work performance. The higher the level of perceived loneliness, the lower the performance. These findings highlight the need for Indonesian organisations to foster inclusive and socially supportive work environments.

Abstract

The regional banking industry plays an important role in supporting the local economy, but improving employee performance remains a major challenge in maintaining service quality and organizational competitiveness. Employee performance is influenced by various internal factors, including work engagement, job satisfaction, and perceived organizational support. This study aims to analyze the effect of work engagement and job satisfaction on employee performance with perceived organizational support as a mediating variable at PT BPR Bank Boyolali. This study is based on Social Exchange Theory, which explains that reciprocal relationships between employees and organizations can improve positive work attitudes and performance. This study uses a quantitative approach with a census method of all 132 employees of PT BPR Bank Boyolali. Data were collected through a questionnaire using a five-point Likert scale. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS version 4 software. Testing was carried out through outer model analysis to test validity and reliability, inner model analysis to see the relationship between variables, and mediation testing using indirect effects. The results of the study indicate that work engagement has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and job satisfaction also has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. In addition, perceived organizational support has been proven to have a positive effect on employee performance and acts as a partial mediating variable in the relationship between work engagement and job satisfaction on employee performance. These findings indicate that improvements in employee performance are not only influenced by individual factors, but also by the extent to which the organization provides support, attention, and recognition to employees. Therefore, organizations need to strengthen work engagement, increase job satisfaction, and create consistent organizational support to improve employee performance.

Abstract

The mining industry remains historically male-dominated, shaped by entrenched masculine norms that constrain women’s career sustainability. This study explores the lived experiences of women in the Indonesian mining sector using a qualitative phenomenological approach, drawing on in-depth interviews with ten participants in technical and administrative roles and analyzed through explicitation techniques. The findings reveal that career entry is influenced by the accumulation of human and social capital, alongside strong economic motivations. In practice, women face gendered communication norms, dual legitimacy pressures related to gender and age, as well as horizontal segregation and vertical glass ceiling barriers linked to reproductive life stages. Career sustainability is supported through a combination of formal institutional mechanisms and informal relational solidarity within organizational culture, while participants exhibit resilience through adaptive coping and long-term career planning aligned with life transitions. The study concludes that women’s career sustainability in mining is an active, negotiated process shaped by the interaction between professional aspirations, individual agency, and gendered institutional structures, contributing to the development of gendered organization theory and life-course perspectives in Global South contexts.

Abstract

This research is driven by the rising trend in skincare use, which intensifies competition in Indonesia's skincare industry. This development is supported by growing public awareness of selfcare and by the role of social media, such as TikTok, in shaping consumer perceptions through product reviews and user experiences. On the other hand, the emergence of overclaim issues in Azarine serum products has raised consumer concerns about brand trust and product quality, potentially affecting brand image and repurchase intention. Therefore, this study aims to analyse the effect of Brand Trust and Perceived Quality on Repurchase Intention, with Brand Image as an intervening variable. Consumers aged 18 or older who reside in Semarang and have used Azarine skincare products within the last six months were selected as respondents in this study. The sample size of this study was 135 respondents. Data collection was conducted via online questionnaires with a 5-point Likert scale. The sampling technique used was non-probability purposive sampling. The data analysis method used to test the research model was Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) in AMOS 28. The results show that perceived quality has a positive and significant effect on brand image and repurchase intention. Brand trust does not have a significant effect on brand image, but it has a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention. In addition, brand image has been shown to have a positive and significant effect on repurchase intention, indicating that it plays a mediating role in the relationship between these variables and Repurchase Intention.
