Abstract

The evelopment of the economy that becomes more global makes general banks to use foreign currencies in a transaction at a certain time or circumstances. Foreign currencies’ values are fluctuating that could lead a bank to exposure of the exchange rate risk. Currency swap contract is an alternative that can be used by the bank to do a hedge. This research aims to analyze how the foreign exchange liabilities, bank size, cost of financial distress, and net open position affecting the use of currency swap on general banks that listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange. After the literature review, data were collected by documentary study of financial reports and formed the pooled data. The pooled data then being analyzed using some methods like descriptive statistic analysis, the test of classical assumption, linear regression analysis, and the goodness of fit regression model. The result of this research shows that foreign exchange of liabilities, bank size, and net open position are significantly against the decision of using currency swap as a hedge significantly, while the cost of financial distress does not significantly against the decision of using currency swap as a hedge.

Abstract

Momentum and disposition effect in modern stock markets are distractions against the Efficient Market Hypothesis. The effect might be elaborated by disposition effect model in which momentum is explored through behavioral bias. The aim of this research was to analyze the propensity of previously winning-stock to perform better than losing-stock as a strategy of momentum attributable to disposition effect. The study case incorporated Stock Index of Kompas 100 in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period of 2012–2015 by employing cross sectional regression.Weekly stock data from 79 companies were taken as sample--comprising of volume and outstanding share. The variables consist of momentum in the sort-term, medium-term, and long term; consecutively taken from past-return week-1, past-return week 5 to 52, past return week 52 to 156. Additionally, to examine the size, trading volume variables were used consisting of average trading volume in the sort-term, medium-term, and long term; consecutively taken from week 1 to 4, 5 to 52, and 53 to 156.Capital gains overhang were used as a proxy of disposition effect. The results revealed that momentum exists on Indonesia Stock Exchange; furthermore, capital gains overhang is sufficient to be a proxy of disposition effect. In other words, disposition effect is driven by momentum. Up to the point od this study, Indeks Stock Kompas 100 has experienced a capital losses; implicating an inclination to remain perform satisfactorily ahead.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing number of mail delivery services and goods and the growing sophistication of technology. While the selected object in this study is customer of Purworejo Post Office where a decline in the level of customer arrivals Purworejo Post Office and the increasing number of complaints. Purpose of this study was to determine the effect of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy towards customer satisfaction Purworejo PostOffice.After a literature review and compose of hypotheses, data were collected through quantitative methods used questionnaires to 150 customers of Purworejo Post Office. Methods of analysis used multiple linear regression analysis. Sampling technique in this study using accidental sampling.The results showed that the value of the F test was 63,139. In this study, the value of coefficient of determination showed 75,8, the model in this study were able to explain variation in the dependent variabel of 0.758 or 75.8%. The variabels of tangible, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and empathy affect the customer satisfaction Purworejo Post Office

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence between time management, study motivation,  self actualization and student’s academic achievement who have part time job. The data in this research was collected through questionnaire distributed to 89 respondents, which are undergraduate students from Management Bachelor Degree in Diponegoro University. The techniques to testing data is multiple linear regression analysis. Results indicates that time management, study motivation, and self actualization give positive influence to academic achievement of undergraduate students in Management Bachelor Degree in Diponegoro University who have part time job. Those variables also give 67% contribution to the variety of  student’s academic achievement who have part time job.

Abstract

High rate of turnover leads to adverse effect to an organization. Such problem is likely generating instability and uncertainty towards employment condition and human resources cost rise in forms of training invested to them, recruitment and newly built training programs. High turnover, in addition, also results in organizational ineffectiveness because it loses experienced employees as well as spends much times in  new training, inexperienced employees..This research aim to examine and analyze the influence of the relation between work environment and compensation on turnover intention with job satisfaction as intervening variable (study on employees of Laksana Baru Swalayan Majenang).Questionnaires were distributed to 73 employees of Laksana Baru Swalayan Majenang and data was collected using puposive sampling method. This research used software SPSS Statistic 23.The result of this research indicates that work environment an compensation has positive effect and significant on job satisfaction. Work environment and compensation has negative effect and significant on turnover intention. Job satisfaction has negative effect but not significant on turnover intention,  sobel test indicates that job satisfaction hasn’t mediation effect on work environment and compensation on turnover intention.

Abstract

This study was motivated by competition and business threats that occur in the automotiveindustry in particular on products Honda Mobilio. The decline in the value of the index in Table Honda car sales indicate there is a problem in product purchasing decisions Honda Mobilio. This study aims to analyze and examine the elements that comprise the purchase decision of the product quality, brand awareness, and the price of the product purchase decisions Honda Mobilio.Research data retrieval is done through questionnaires to 100 respondents Honda Mobilio car users in the city of Semarang is obtained using the technique accidental sampling and purposive sampling. Then the analysis of data obtained both qualitatively and quantitatively. Qualitative analysis is the interpretation of the data obtained in the field and analysis of open answers given by the respondents, whereas quantitative analysis include: validity, reliability, classic assumption test, multiple linear regression, hypothesis testing via t test and F test, and coefficient of determination(R2).Data - data that has met the validity, reliability, and classical assumption, processed with SPSS (Statistical Package for Social Science) for Windows 15, resulting in a regression equation as follows:          Y = 0,240 X1 + 0,589 X2 + 0,376 X3Where hypothesis testing using t test showed that the three independent variables, namely  the  quality  of  the  product  (X1), brand  awareness  (X2),  and  the  price  (X3) significant positive effect on the purchase decision (Y).

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze factors that affected the cause of failure in the achievement of performance target goals at PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero). This study used 20 indicators that will be reduced by using factor analysis and continued with adding 1 dependent variable on Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis. The result will then be analyzed with SPSS 20.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs for Windows. The result of factor analysis showed that from 20 indicators, 4 factor is formed which is represent those 20 indicators. Those four factors are Work System Factor, Process Efficiency Factor, Work Readiness Factor, Technology and Management Support Factors. Those four factors obtained based on eigenvalues greater than one, so that the factors can represent several indicator that exist. These formed factors then developed with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) analysis to determine the causality relationship to Performance Variables. The results of SEM analysis showed that Work System Factor, Process Efficiency Factor and Work Readiness Factor has positive and significant impact on performance variables, whereas Technology and Management Support Factor has no impact and not significant. Based on the result of the analysis, the company can now focus on increasing Work System Factor, Process Efficiency Factor and Work Readiness Factor for improving their performance.

Abstract

Yamaha is one of the largest automotive company in Indonesia. In particular, this study reviews how Yamaha attempt to increase sell their product in market that is currently dominated by Honda. This research was based a decrease in sales of Yamaha motorcycles in the period 2010-2011and decrease in sales of Yamaha motorcycles in Yamaha SS Cabang Kedungmundu Semarang in August-December 2011. This sales decline shows a decrease in consumer buying interest on Yamaha motorcycle products. This research is purpose to find out whether the quality of product, price, and advertising appeal affect on consumer willingness to buy in Yamaha motorcycle products and analyzing the most dominant factor influencing consumer’s buying interest on Yamaha motorcycle in Yamaha SS Cabang Kedungundu Semarang. This research it used 100 samples that was taken from to 100 consumer Yamaha SS Cabang Kedungmundu Semarang obtained by using accidental sampling techniques. Then conducted an analysis of data obtained in the form of quantitative and qualitative analysis. Quantitative analysis involves the validity and reliability testing, test classic assumptions, multiple regression analysis, Goodness of Fit test through regression coefficient (R2), F test and t test. Qualitative analysis is an interpretation of the data obtained in this study and the results of data processing is carried out by giving a description and explanation. The data that have met the test of validity, reliability, and test the assumptions of classical processed to produce a regression equation as follows: Y = 0,388 X1 + 0,364 X2 + 0,205 X3 Order individually from each of the most influential variable is the  variable product quality with regression coefficient of  0.388, then price variable with regression coefficient of 0.364. While the variables that  affect the lowest advertising appeal with regression coefficient of 0.205. The model equation has a calculated F value of 32.871 and a significance level of 0,000. Where F count is greater than F table (3.09) and with a smaller significance level of α (0.05). It shows that the independent variables in this research is jointly  influential to the dependent variable is willingness to buy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of capital structure (DER), sales growth, and firm size of firm value (PBV) and profitability (ROE) as an intervening variable. The data used in this study were obtained from financial statements of the real estate and property company that is listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2010-2014. This study uses secondary data. The selection of the sample using a purposive sampling tecnique and using 32 companies. The analysis technique used is Path Analyst which is a development of the bivariate and multiple regression analysis.The results of this study showed that capital structure and growth sales have a positive effect and significant to probability, firm size has a negative effect and insignificant  to profitability. Probability and capital structure have a positive effect and significant to firm value. Growth  Sales and firm size have a negative effect and insignificant to firm value. Profitability is able to mediate the effect of capital structure and growth sales on firm value. But profitability is not able to mediate the effect of firm size on firm value.

Abstract

This study aims analyze the factors that affect profit and loss sharing financinng. The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of Financing to Deposit Ratio, Non Performing Financing, equivalent rate of profit sharing and spread profit sharing of profit and loss sharing financing. The samples used are selected using purposive sampling technique and only 4 banks in accordance with the criteria. The data is taken from the Quarterly Financial Reports Sharia Bank in Bank Indonesia's website during the period of 6 years from 2008 to 2013. The data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the coefficient of determination through the four test variables: Financing to Deposit Ratio, Non Performing Ratio, equivalent rate of profit sharing and spread profit sharing can explain the variation in the dependent variable for profit and loss sharing financing by 89% while the rest is explained by other causes beyond the research variables . Four variables simultaneously affect the results because the financing for the significance level of less than 0.05. From the partial results only variable non-performing ratio has negative significant affect to profit and loss sharing financing, while the other three variables Financing to Deposit Ratio, equivalent rate of profit sharing and spread profit sharing have positive significant affect to profit and loss sharing financing.
