Abstract

This study aims to explain the effect of compensation and work environment on work productivity through job satisfaction. This research applies a quantitative approach, with a total population of 58 employees and a sample of 38 employees. The Structural Equation Modeling Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) technique was applied in this study to analyse the data with the help of SmartPLS software version 4.1. The results obtained from this study indicate that compensation and work environment have a significant positive effect on job satisfaction, compensation and work environment have no significant effect on work productivity, and job satisfaction has a significant positive effect on work productivity. In the indirect effect analysis, job satisfaction is proven to mediate the effect of compensation and work environment on productivity. The research implications that can be applied to companies are that companies need to pay more attention to aspects that can affect employee productivity levels, one of which is related to work facilities, namely improving company network access; through a good and smooth network, employees can work effectively and do not hinder the customer service process. The company needs to pay attention to the job satisfaction employees feel towards the compensation received. Branch leaders must also give awards or appreciation to employees who have achieved work targets. In addition, the company needs to organise family gathering activities for all employees; these activities can create comfort for employees and strengthen relationships between superiors and employees.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effects of leverage, ownership structure, and innovation on the financial performance of firms. A quantitative approach was employed, utilising secondary data sourced from companies in the infrastructure, utility, and transportation sectors listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during the period 2019–2023. The sample consisted of 30 companies selected through purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS 25. The findings indicate that leverage has a significant negative effect on financial performance, as measured by return on assets (ROA). This suggests that excessive reliance on debt may lead to financial distress due to increased interest obligations, although debt utilisation can be beneficial when tax shields outweigh the costs. Furthermore, managerial and institutional ownership, components of ownership structure, exert a significant positive influence on financial performance, likely due to their role in mitigating agency conflicts between principals and agents. However, ownership concentration was found to have no significant impact on performance. Innovation also demonstrated a significant positive effect on financial performance. Based on these results, firms are advised to manage leverage carefully, as higher debt levels can adversely affect performance. Conversely, enhancing managerial and institutional ownership, alongside fostering innovation, may serve as effective strategies for improving financial outcomes.

Abstract

This study applies the Markov Switching Model Autoregresive Models (MSAR) with two regimes to predict movements in the Bitwise crypto index. An autoregressive model with one lag (AR1) is used to capture the complex dynamics of the crypto market, focusing on two main phases: bullish and bearish. The model accounts for the probability of transitioning between regimes, allowing it to identify when the market shifts between positive and negative conditions. The estimation results show that the model fits the data well, with key variables such as historical prices and other indicators providing accurate predictions in both regimes. In both phases, the model exhibits near-perfect fit, indicating it explains almost all variability in the data. However, despite the strong fit, some parameters do not show high statistical significance, which may point to challenges in the estimation process. The transition probabilities reveal that the bearish condition is more dominant and tends to persist longer, while transitions to the bullish phase occur with lower probability. Thus, the use of the Markov Switching Model offers deeper insights into crypto market movement patterns, especially in identifying sudden shifts between different market phases. These findings are relevant for investors and analysts, providing a better understanding of volatility and aiding in investment decision-making strategies in the crypto market.

Abstract

This study examines the impact of hedonic shopping, shopping lifestyle, and free shipping on impulse buying among S1 Management students. The research employs a quantitative approach, collecting data through questionnaires directed at students who actively use online marketplaces. The population for this study consists of 4,831 students, while the sample includes 100 respondents selected using probability sampling techniques, specifically simple random sampling. This sample selection is based on the recommendation that a minimum of 30 respondents is necessary to approximate a normal distribution. The distributed questionnaire features five score values to reflect respondents' attitudes toward the research variables. Data analysis was conducted using multiple linear regression, enabling researchers to evaluate the relationships between variables systematically. The results indicated that hedonic shopping and free shipping have a positive but insignificant effect on impulse buying. In contrast, a shopping lifestyle was found to positively and significantly influence impulse buying. This finding suggests that while university students exhibit hedonic shopping tendencies, their impulsive buying decisions are more significantly influenced by their shopping lifestyle. This research provides valuable insights for marketers seeking to understand consumer behavior in the digital age and to develop marketing strategies that align with the characteristics and preferences of young consumers.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of job crafting on work engagement, with psychological empowerment as a mediating variable among employees of PT XYZ. The research uses a quantitative approach with a saturated sampling technique, involving the entire population of 100 employees as respondents. Data were analysed using the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS 3.0 software. The findings reveal that job crafting does not have a significant direct effect on work engagement. However, job crafting has a positive and significant effect on psychological empowerment. Additionally, psychological empowerment positively and significantly influences work engagement. Importantly, the study finds that psychological empowerment serves as a significant mediating variable in the relationship between job crafting and work engagement. These results indicate that while job crafting alone may not directly enhance employee engagement, it can foster psychological empowerment, which in turn strengthens engagement. The study highlights the importance of psychological empowerment in the workplace, suggesting that organisations should focus on strategies that enhance employees’ sense of autonomy, competence, and impact to improve engagement levels. Overall, the research contributes to the understanding of employee motivation and engagement by emphasising the mediating role of psychological empowerment in organizational behaviour.

Abstract

Financial well-being is one of the most critical issues in financial research. Financial well-being is when a person feels comfortable and satisfied and does not feel depressed or worried about their financial condition. The study examines the effect of financial knowledge and experience on the financial well-being of high and low-income communities. The sample was taken using purposive sampling. Data is collected using a survey method, and questionnaires are distributed to respondents according to the criteria. The data analysis used is SEM-PLS.  The results of this study prove that financial experience has a positive effect on financial well-being, while financial knowledge has no impact on financial well-being. Another interesting finding of this study is that financial behaviour can mediate the effects of financial experience on financial well-being in both high and low-income communities. This result implies that people should improve their financial expertise to improve their financial well-being. High financial experience supported by good financial behaviour will give a person a high perception of financial well-being because of a sense of satisfaction and comfort and the ability to not feel worried or depressed about their financial condition.

Abstract

This research aims to identify the factors influencing the firm value of mining companies listed on the Indonesia ESG Leader from 2017 to 2022. The study focuses on four independent variables: environment score, social score, governance score, and ESG combined score. Using purposive sampling, the sample consists of seven mining companies that have been consistently listed on the Indonesia ESG Leader index during the specified period. The data analysis technique applied in this study is panel data regression, which allows for examining the effects of these variables on firm value over time. The results indicate that the environment score, social score, governance score, and ESG combined score do not significantly influence the firm value of the companies in the sample. This suggests that the current efforts of mining companies in implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices may not have immediately tangible effects on their financial performance. One possible explanation is the high costs associated with ESG initiatives and the long time frame required to see measurable outcomes. Therefore, the research highlights the importance of maintaining consistency in ESG reporting, as continued adherence to ESG principles may help secure long-term support from consumers and investors, ultimately enhancing firm value in the future.
