Abstract

This study aims to analyze socialization management in increasing new student enrollment in an integrated Islamic senior high school context. This research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving key informants, including the school principal, the new student admission committee (PPDB), the vice principal for student affairs, and parents. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured using source and technique triangulation. The findings reveal that socialization management has been systematically implemented through the stages of planning, organizing, actuating, and controlling by utilizing both digital and conventional media. However, the increase in new student enrollment has not been fully optimal due to socioeconomic constraints and the characteristics of the boarding school system. This study is limited by its single case study design, which restricts the generalizability of the findings, yet it provides theoretical implications for the development of socialization management within the framework of Islamic education marketing. Practically, this study offers recommendations for educational institutions to develop adaptive, community-oriented socialization strategies and strengthen collaboration with external stakeholders to enhance institutional attractiveness. The originality of this study lies in integrating socialization management with value-based Islamic educational marketing in a boarding school context. Abstract

This study examines the construction and dissemination of multicultural da’wah messages on Instagram as a form of digital Islamic communication in contemporary society. Drawing on a qualitative content analysis approach, this research analyzes posts from the @nuonline_id Instagram account to explore the types, strategies, and audience responses to multicultural da’wah content. The findings reveal that multicultural da’wah is communicated through diverse themes, including interfaith harmony, local wisdom, ethnic philosophies, and religious traditions, which are strategically curated and alternated with other religious content to sustain audience engagement. The account employs inclusive narratives and culturally adaptive messaging to appeal to a heterogeneous audience within a digital environment. Furthermore, audience interaction reflected through likes, comments, and shares indicates a predominantly positive reception, suggesting that multicultural framing enhances the effectiveness of da’wah in pluralistic contexts. The study contributes to the growing literature on digital religion by demonstrating how social media platforms facilitate the transformation of traditional da’wah into interactive, audience-centered communication practices. It also highlights the role of strategic content management in promoting tolerance, inclusivity, and religious moderation in the digital public sphere. Abstract

This study aims to analyze how operational strategies are implemented to enhance financial resilience through budget deficit reduction in Islamic boarding schools. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed, with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques, while validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings indicate that effective operational strategies include optimizing revenue sources, strengthening collaboration with village governments and external partners, improving expenditure efficiency, and conducting regular financial evaluations. These strategies have proven effective in maintaining operational stability despite challenges such as limited external support and fluctuations in student enrollment. However, this study is limited by its single-case design, which restricts the generalizability of the findings. The implications of this research highlight the importance of integrating planning, implementation, and control within operational management to support the sustainability of Islamic educational institutions. Practically, the findings offer valuable insights for administrators of Islamic boarding schools and similar institutions in designing adaptive and sustainable financial management strategies. The originality of this study lies in extending the operations management perspective within the context of Islamic education, particularly in strengthening financial resilience through a structured strategic approach.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Value-Based Leadership model to enhance integrity and human resource commitment within Islamic da’wah organizations. Employing a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach within a qualitative-interpretive paradigm, the study analyzes and synthesizes findings from reputable scholarly articles published over the past five years. The analytical process follows structured stages of identification, selection, evaluation, and thematic synthesis of the literature. The findings reveal that Value-Based Leadership exerts a significant influence on integrity through mechanisms of value internalization and leader role modeling. Integrity, in turn, functions as a mediating variable that strengthens the relationship between value-based leadership and organizational commitment. In the context of da’wah institutions, human resource commitment is not solely affective but also encompasses normative and spiritual dimensions, reflecting a more complex construct compared to conventional organizations. This study is limited by the absence of empirical field data; therefore, future research is recommended to empirically test the proposed model using quantitative methods. Practically, the findings offer strategic implications for Islamic da’wah institutions in fostering leadership practices centered on value internalization, integrity reinforcement, and enhanced workforce commitment. Theoretically, this study contributes to the leadership literature by integrating Value-Based Leadership with Islamic values into a comprehensive conceptual framework.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between workload and work-related stress among traffic police officers within a high-risk law enforcement context. The research adopts a quantitative approach with a correlational design, involving 52 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires measuring workload and work-related stress, and analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including Pearson correlation analysis. The findings reveal that both workload and work-related stress are predominantly at moderate levels, and a significant positive relationship exists between the two variables, with a correlation coefficient of 0.667. This indicates that higher workload is associated with increased levels of work-related stress among traffic police officers. The study is limited by its relatively small sample size and its focus on a single institutional setting, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings. Practically, the results highlight the importance of effective workload management strategies to mitigate stress levels and enhance both performance and well-being among law enforcement personnel. The originality of this study lies in its empirical contribution to the limited body of literature on occupational stress within traffic policing in developing country contexts, offering insights relevant for human resource management and organizational policy in high-risk public service sectors.

Abstract

This study examines the dynamics of classical Islamic theology through a comparative analysis of five major theological schools Ashʿarism, Murjiʾism, Shiʿism, Muʿtazilism, and Kharijism—and their contemporary reception in Indonesia and Malaysia. Islamic theology (ʿilm al-kalām) emerged from political conflicts and intellectual debates following the death of the Prophet Muhammad, particularly concerning political authority, faith, divine justice, and the relationship between reason and revelation. This study employs a qualitative library-based approach using descriptive-analytical and comparative methods. Data from primary and secondary sources were analyzed through comparative content analysis. The findings show that each theological school reflects a distinct doctrinal orientation. Kharijism adopted an exclusive stance by excommunicating Muslims who committed major sins, while Murjiʾism promoted a more inclusive approach by deferring judgment to God. Shiʿism emphasized imāmah as the basis of religious and political authority, whereas Muʿtazilism prioritized rational inquiry and human agency. In contrast, Ashʿarism reconciled reason and revelation and later became the dominant theological framework in Sunni Islam. The study also demonstrates that the reception of these traditions in Southeast Asia is shaped by socio-political structures and state religious policies. Indonesia tends to be more pluralistic and accommodative, while Malaysia institutionalizes Sunni Ashʿarism as its official theological orientation. This study argues that classical Islamic theological discourses remain relevant for promoting religious moderation, intellectual pluralism, and inter-sectarian dialogue in contemporary Muslim societies.

Abstract

This study examines the institutional transformation of Indonesia’s Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kementerian Agama Republik Indonesia) within the framework of public policy and structural da’wah in response to the evolving socio-political and religious dynamics of Indonesian society. Employing a qualitative approach through document analysis and library research, this study analyzes government regulations, academic literature, policy documents, and previous scholarly studies related to religious governance, religious moderation, and state-religion relations in Indonesia. The findings reveal that the Ministry of Religious Affairs has experienced a significant paradigm shift from a predominantly administrative and doctrinal institution toward a more dialogical, inclusive, and service-oriented religious bureaucracy. In this context, religious policies such as religious moderation programs, zakat and waqf governance, halal assurance, and community religious development function not only as instruments of state regulation but also as mechanisms of structural da’wah aimed at strengthening social cohesion and public welfare. However, the implementation of these policies continues to face several structural challenges, including bureaucratization of religion, political intervention, institutional fragmentation, and declining public trust in religious institutions. This study contributes to the discourse on religious governance by highlighting the complex interaction between religion, state authority, and public policy in contemporary Indonesia. The study further argues that strengthening transparent, participatory, and collaborative governance is essential to enhancing the effectiveness of religious policy and promoting inclusive religious development in a pluralistic society.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the sustainable business model of Sharia Umrah travel and its contribution to the Muslim community economy in the era of digital service transformation. The research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by examining reputable scientific articles indexed in Scopus, Web of Science, and ScienceDirect databases. The findings reveal that the integration of sustainable strategy, business model innovation, and digital transformation contributes significantly to the development of sustainable business practices through the synergy of economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Digitalization functions as a strategic enabler that enhances operational efficiency, service transparency, and the overall experience of Umrah pilgrims. Furthermore, Sharia Umrah travel contributes to the Muslim community economy through job creation, the expansion of Islamic financial inclusion, and the strengthening of the halal ecosystem. However, the implementation of sustainable business models still faces challenges related to technological adoption gaps and the lack of comprehensive strategic integration. The originality of this study lies in the development of an integrative conceptual framework that combines sustainable strategy, business model innovation, digital transformation, and maqashid shariah within a holistic perspective, which remains underexplored in previous studies. Theoretically, this study contributes to the advancement of sustainable strategy literature within the context of Islamic economics. Practically, it provides strategic insights for industry practitioners in designing adaptive, sustainable, and welfare-oriented Sharia Umrah travel business models. Abstract

Digital transformation has fundamentally reshaped communication practices in nonprofit organizations, requiring Islamic philanthropic institutions to adopt effective digital communication strategies to strengthen public engagement and sustain donor participation. Although previous studies have extensively examined digital fundraising and social media communication, limited attention has been given to the strategic role of organizational websites as integrated communication and engagement platforms. Addressing this gap, this study investigates how Dompet Dhuafa’s official website facilitates public engagement through digital communication strategies. A qualitative case study approach was employed using secondary data collected from academic literature, institutional reports, and systematic digital observation of the website. Data were analyzed through thematic analysis guided by the Attention–Interest–Desire–Action (AIDA) framework and the concept of public engagement. The findings reveal that the website functions not only as an information repository but also as an integrated engagement ecosystem that combines persuasive communication, transparent program reporting, interactive features, and seamless digital donation services. The implementation of AIDA is reflected in compelling visual content, well-structured program information, emotionally engaging narratives, and accessible call-to-action mechanisms that encourage user participation. Furthermore, financial transparency, impact reporting, and interactive communication channels including FAQs, contact forms, WhatsApp services, and social media integration enhance organizational credibility and foster public trust. The study contributes to the literature by extending the application of digital communication theory to website-based engagement within the context of Islamic philanthropy, an area that remains underexplored. Practically, the findings provide strategic insights for nonprofit organizations seeking to optimize websites as digital communication infrastructures that promote sustainable public engagement and strengthen long-term donor relationships.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the dynamics of the relationship between the state and Islamic da’wah institutions in Indonesia through a periodization analysis covering the Pre-Independence era, the Old Order, the New Order, and the Reform era. The study is motivated by the importance of understanding how political regime changes and state policies have influenced the development, functions, and roles of da’wah institutions within Indonesia’s social, religious, and national life. Although previous studies have examined Islam state relations, political Islam, and civil society in Indonesia, limited attention has been given to the historical evolution of state da’wah institution relations across different political regimes. This study addresses this gap by offering a comprehensive periodization framework that captures the changing patterns of interaction between the state and da’wah institutions over time. This research employs a qualitative approach using the Systematic Literature Review (SLR) method by analysing various relevant academic sources related to the relationship between Islam and the state, Islamic organizations, civil society, and the development of da’wah institutions in Indonesia. The collected data were analysed using thematic analysis to identify patterns of interaction between the state and da’wah institutions across different historical periods. The findings reveal that the relationship between the state and da’wah institutions has shifted dynamically from a restrictive pattern during the Pre-Independence era, to a negotiative pattern during the Old Order, an accommodative-controlled pattern during the New Order, and a participatory pattern during the Reform era. The study also indicates that political policies constitute the primary factor influencing the development of da’wah institutions, while these institutions demonstrate a strong adaptive capacity in responding to political changes. The research contributes to enriching the discourse on state and civil society relations within the context of Indonesian Islam and offers a periodization framework for understanding the historical development of da’wah institutions comprehensively. The findings also provide practical implications for policymakers, Islamic organizations, and scholars in strengthening collaborative and democratic religious governance in Indonesia.
