Abstract

This research is a qualitative study with a case study design that aims to reveal various problems in archive management in the pesantren environment and explore solutions that can support the improvement of the administrative quality of Islamic education institutions. The research focus was directed at two pesantren with different characteristics, namely Pesantren X (modern) and Pesantren Y (salaf), in order to obtain a contextual and in-depth understanding. The problems identified include technical, structural, and limited human resources aspects in the archival process. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, observation of administrative activities and archival systems, and analysis of available documents. The results showed that both pesantren faced similar challenges, such as the absence of a standardised archive classification system, limited storage facilities, not maximising archive digitisation, and the lack of understanding of archival principles among administrative staff. However, strategic solutions have begun to be implemented, including through human resource training, the preparation of archive management SOPs, strengthening archival institutions, and implementing simple digital systems for efficient data access. This research provides a comprehensive overview of the challenges and solutions in archive management, and confirms the importance of revamping the archive system to improve administrative effectiveness and accountability in the pesantren environment. Good archive management is not only a technical necessity, but part of the strategic efforts of pesantren in maintaining their existence, preserving history, and providing quality Islamic education services.

Abstract

This study aims to determine how the application of audio-visual media by teachers in learning Aqidah Akhlak subjects and how much influence the media has on the learning interest of class VIII students of MTs Muhammadiyah Tawangsari in the 2024/2025 school year. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method. The research sample amounted to 28 students taken from four classes using proportional sampling technique. The main instrument in data collection is a questionnaire that has been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that the application of audio-visual media by teachers was in the moderate to good category, with 50% of respondents stating the use of media in the good category, 42.86% were sufficient, and only 7.14% stated that it was not good. The results of students' interest in learning showed 50% in the good category, 39.29% were sufficient, and 10.71% were not good. The simple regression test resulted in an R Square value of 0.012, which means that the effect of using audio-visual media on learning interest is only 1.2%, while the rest is influenced by other variables. This study concludes that the use of audio visual media contributes positively although at a very low level of influence on students' interest in learning. The implications of these findings emphasize the importance of teacher training in developing and implementing interesting learning media. Future research is recommended to expand the sample size, location coverage, and incorporate a qualitative approach to explore other factors that influence students' interest in learning.

Abstract

Achieving success in both worldly and hereafter matters requires a systematic process, through the practice of worship and education that is purposefully designed with the support of a structured curriculum. Currently, the National Education System is considered not yet fully capable of meeting the demands of the times and the expectations of society. This situation has led to the emergence of Integrated Islamic Schools, including SDIT Salsabila Yogyakarta, which operates under the Integrated Islamic School Network (JSIT), offering a concept of integration between religious education and science. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the JSIT curriculum as a model of integrating religion and science at SDIT Salsabila Yogyakarta. The research employed a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The results show that the curriculum integration at SDIT Salsabila is carried out through the combination of three main curricula: the JSIT Curriculum, the National Curriculum (from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Religious Affairs), and the Qur'an Curriculum (tahfidz program). The integration model developed focuses more on strengthening Islamic values as the foundation of all academic activities, while the science component is applied more practically in everyday life. Through this approach, SDIT Salsabila Yogyakarta strives to nurture students who are not only knowledgeable but also possess strong faith and good character (Research, 2025).

Abstract

The transformation of education in the digital era has brought significant changes in the learning system, both in terms of methods, the role of teachers, and the competencies required of students. On the other hand, technological advances also present new challenges, especially related to the degradation of moral values and character. Therefore, it is important to examine how modern education can integrate technology, 21st-century learning strategies, and character education holistically. This study aims to analyze the transformation of digital education and innovative strategies in 21st-century learning, identify the challenges of character education in the digital era, and offer an integrative approach between technology and character formation in the education curriculum. The method used is qualitative descriptive through library research, by reviewing academic sources in the form of books, scientific journals, and national and international policy documents. The results of the study show that technology has the potential to increase the effectiveness of learning if accompanied by innovative strategies that focus on developing 4C competencies. However, character education remains a fundamental aspect that must be integrated into every learning process so that students not only excel academically, but also have integrity and social responsibility. Holistic integration between technology and character has proven to be a strategic solution to produce graduates who are adaptive, competitive, and have strong character in facing global challenges.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how Halal bi Halal activities become a means of multicultural education in the Merbau Padangsari community, Banyumanik, Semarang. Halal bi Halal activities, which are an annual tradition after Eid al-Fitr, are seen not only as a means of friendship, but also as an effective medium in fostering values ​​of tolerance, mutual respect, and harmony among residents who have diverse cultural and religious backgrounds. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with community leaders, and documentation of activities. The results of the study indicate that Halal bi Halal has a significant role in strengthening social harmony and expanding community understanding of the importance of multicultural values ​​in community life. The hypothesis that this activity is a means of inclusive social and cultural learning is acceptable. These findings strengthen the argument that local traditions have the potential as instruments of character education and multiculturalism at the community level.

Abstract

This article examines the exemplary method (tamsil) in the education of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH as an effective strategy in strengthening students' understanding of Islamic values. Exemplary is understood not just as a rhetorical style, but as a pedagogical approach that bridges abstract concepts with students' concrete experiences. This study uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach, analyzing two hadiths narrated by Imam Muslim that display the example of the Prophet: about the reader of the Qur'an and about the influence of association. The results of the study show that the examples used by the Prophet are contextual, emotional, and communicative, so that they are able to build conceptual and affective understanding at the same time. This method is in harmony with modern learning strategies such as contextual learning and analogical reasoning, and is very relevant to be applied in contemporary Islamic education. Thus, the Prophet's exemplary approach can be an inspiration in designing meaningful and transformative learning strategies.

Abstract

Digital era marked by an overflow of information, instant culture, and moral decline character education that relies solely on normative and authoritarian approaches is increasingly inadequate. This study aims to compare and synthesize the educational thoughts of Imam Az-Zarnuji and Jean Piaget to develop a more integrative approach to character education. This study utilizes a qualitative research method with a literature review approach. The data sources comprise scholarly works relevant to the character education perspectives of Imam Az-Zarnuji and Jean Piaget. Results of this research are Az-Zarnuji stressing the importance of spirituality, ethical conduct (adab), and sincerity in seeking knowledge, while Piaget focuses on moral autonomy, social responsibility, and the development of ethical reasoning. The synthesis of their perspectives offers a more holistic framework for character education suited to contemporary challenges. The study recommends that future research build a contextualized character education framework and examine its practical implementation in educational institutions to assess its effectiveness in fostering students' moral development

Abstract

This study aims to examine the development of an Islamic Religious Education (PAI) curriculum that is responsive to diversity in Indonesia. As a country with a wealth of culture, ethnicity, and beliefs, the development of the PAI curriculum must be able to accommodate multicultural values ​​while maintaining the essence of Islamic teachings. Using a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this study analyzed various sources of national scientific publications to identify models, strategies, and challenges in developing an inclusive PAI curriculum. The results of the study indicate that the development of an PAI curriculum that is responsive to diversity can be implemented through the integration of multicultural values, adjustment of teaching materials according to the local context, application of participatory learning methods, and increasing teacher competence in managing diversity. This study also identified several challenges such as differences in interpretation of religious texts, limited educational resources, and resistance from conservative groups. The implications of this study suggest the need for reformulation of the PAI curriculum development policy that pays more attention to the socio-cultural aspects of Indonesian society without sacrificing fundamental religious principles.

Abstract

This study explores how the Bahtsul Masa’il method is used to foster critical thinking skills among students (santri) at the AnNajah Gondang Islamic Boarding School, particularly in Fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence) classes. The research is guided by three core questions: why this method was chosen for Fiqh learning, how it supports the development of critical thinking, and what challenges arise during its implementation. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through observations, indepth interviews, and documentation. The findings show that Bahtsul Masa’il is favored because it encourages students to engage more actively, think critically, and analyze religious issues from both classical and contemporary perspectives. In practice, the method is applied through open discussion forums where students are invited to identify problems, build arguments, and propose solutions based on Islamic legal reasoning. These discussions gradually nurture a more independent and critical way of thinking. However, the implementation is not without challenges. Differences in students’ abilities, limited access to relevant references, the need for skilled moderators, and time constraints during discussions all present obstacles. Still, despite these hurdles, Bahtsul Masa’il remains a powerful tool in shaping students' intellectual character and helping them grow into independent thinkers

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has brought significant shifts in educational paradigms, especially in the realm of Islamic Education (PAI). In the midst of growing cyberbullying phenomena, the role of PAI teachers is not only to educate but also to instill and preserve Islamic values through spiritual digital literacy. This study explores how spiritual digital literacy is transformed and strategically utilized by PAI teachers to address ethical and moral challenges in the digital age. Using a qualitative library research method with thematic content analysis, various scholarly works, journal articles, and educational policy documents were analyzed to identify effective strategies employed by teachers. The findings indicate that spiritual digital literacy must be consciously cultivated to empower students in facing the negative impacts of cyberspace, including cyberbullying. PAI teachers are shown to act as value-driven digital facilitators who integrate faith-based ethics into online learning environments, creating safe, reflective, and spiritually enriching educational experiences.
