Focus and Scope Peurawi: Journal of Islamic Communication Studies aims to provide an academic forum for publications based on Islamic communication. Peurawi is based on values derived from Islamic principles, such as ethics, universality, inclusiveness, and humanity, which serve as a reference in the development of communication studies. The Peurawi Journal seeks collaboration with international researchers through publications covering diverse communication methods and fields, including media studies, journalism, public relations, digital communication, organizational communication, and other related subfields within the scope of communication science. This journal recognizes the increasing relevance of communication research in addressing social, cultural, and global issues, and gives priority to works that demonstrate theoretical contributions and practical significance. Articles with a comparative, critical, or international orientation are highly welcome, as they provide alternative perspectives and broaden the scope of academic inquiry. By integrating Islamic communication values with advances in contemporary communication science, Peurawi serves as a medium for disseminating research that is rigorous in method, substantial in concept, and relevant to the pursuit of knowledge and social responsibility. Abstract

Religious messages conveyed by extremist preachers have the opportunity to move the congregation to anti-tolerant actions that can threaten the nation and state. Based on this, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) sees the need for a standardization policy in order to create enlightening lecturers. This incident did not escape the media spotlight. The media even had their own characteristics in filming the standard of dai. The news of dai's certification did not escape the media spotlight. This scientific work aims to reveal the online media framing of Tempo.co, Medcom.id, and BBC.com for reporting on dai's certification. The theory used in this research is the Zhong Dang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki's framing theory which classifies the structural news text on four dimensions as a framing device, namely syntax, script, thematic and rhetoric. This study uses a qualitative descriptive research method where the data will be presented in the form of a description of the results of the analysis of the news on certification from Tempo.co, Medcom.id, and BBC.com. The framing of the news carried out by the three online media shows a difference. Tempo.co framed that dai certification was seen as an important policy that MUI had to take in order to create enlightenment. As for Medcom.id, in framing MUI's policy on standardization of ulama, it emphasizes and awaits support from religious organizations such as NU and Muhammadiyah. Meanwhile, BBC.com is more concerned about the benchmarks that will be used by MUI in dai certification

Abstract

This research is a descriptive study that examines the development of the Islamic Communication and Broadcasting Postgraduate Study Program and determines perceptions of the study program work opportunities for the alumni to become practitioners of political communication study fields, both in government and private sectors. The participants of this study were students from the 2016/2018 cohort. There are two main research questions of this study; How to revitalize job opportunities for study program postgraduate students to become a Political Communication Practitioners and how is the process of perceptions of interest in choosing postgraduate Islamic communication and broadcasting study programs at UIN Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh. In this study, researchers’ data collection is obtained through the use of a tracer study to track the performance and suggestions of graduates and graduate users so that clear indicators can be obtained about the number, future job profiles, and competencies required by the world of work.

Abstract

Da'wah is a duty of Islamic syar'i that given to every Muslim according to their abilities. In the running of da'wah, it is always faced with various challenges in every space and time. Currently, da’wah is being faced with a global and an invisible challenges, covid-19. This virus had choked up the dakwah movement, the interaction between the da'i and mad'u was hindered by the procedure of social distancing. Therefore, the direction of da’wah in the era of Covid-19 needs to be formulated. To find the ideal direction of da'wah, the research has been done at the “Forum Dakwah Perbatasan (FDP)”that located in the capital city of Aceh Province. This forum is ane of the Islamic organizations that are committed to carrying out da'wah even in the midst of a covid storm. The data that related to the challenges and direction of da'wah were obtained through in-depth interviews, documentation in the office of FDP and observations in the FDP da'wah area, especially in Danau Paris District, Aceh Singkil and in Lhokseumawe City. Based on the understanding and analysis of the data, the direction of da’wah carried out by this organization emphasizes the development of education, economic strengthening and humanitarian assistance, and health campaigns. So, the activities of da'wah is still running well while maintaining of health protocols.

Abstract

This study aims to determine what attracts students in watching Rudy Habibie films and the influence of watching Rudy Habibie films on student nationalism. To achieve this goal, the researcher used descriptive quantitative research method by distributing questionnaires directly to the students of SMA Unggul Ali Hasjmy, a number of samples that have been determined with certain conditions. The data collection technique used was through initial observation, questionnaires and documentation. Furthermore, the data processing technique was carried out using the help of the SPSS version 17 application to test the validity and reliability of the questionnaire, simple linear regression test, t test, and test the coefficient of determination. The results showed that the things that were of interest to the students were, among others, the content of the film, such as the story that was very inspiring, a figure who was described as having a high enthusiasm for learning and a love for the country, then in terms of the artistic side of the film, the character told even the shooting location. Then it was also found that there was an influence between watching Rudy Habibie films on student nationalism as evidenced by statistical calculations, the significant value was 0.000 or less than 0.05, which means that there was an influence and Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Then the t test shows the value of t count> t table or 6.287> 1.666 which means that there is a significant effect, then from the test results the coefficient of determination shows that the influence of variable X on variable Y is 34.9%.

Abstract

This research is important to explain about minor criminal acts, which are acts committed by someone who violates the public interest which is threatened with sanctions or fines. The legal basis for the settlement of minor crimes that can be carried out by the Adat Qanun Institution Number 9 of 2008 concerning the Development of Customary Life, Article 13 Paragraph (1) regulates that there are 18 cases or disputes that are delegated resolutions through the Adat Court in Aceh, as well as Court Regulations. Agung (Perma) Number 2 of 2012 regulates the limit on the value of minor crimes. The settlement of minor crimes committed by the Gampong Customary Institution always makes it easier for the parties in the settlement process. The settlement carried out by the Customary Institution is to hold deliberations and summon the parties to facilitate the settlement process for the minor criminal case. The settlement of the crime is carried out at the meunasah in a fast and easy way and does not require money. Meanwhile, the sanctions given by the Gampong Customary Institution are also in accordance with the capabilities and habits prevailing in the local community. The role of the Customary Institution in every dispute resolution, where Adat always strives to maintain a balance between the reporter and the reported and the sanctions that are wise and fair for both parties, so that the parties get a sense of justice and no one feels disadvantaged.

Abstract

This article discusses the role of Banda Aceh Govermen and islamic teachings on tasauf in creating social, cultural, and contextual forces as factors affecting synergetic communication for living together, which further give contributes to protecting society againt radicalism. This article argues that the cooperating between Banda Aceh Goverment and Islamic teachings on tasauf can be an alternative power introducing peace without spreading hates each other. The teaching itself led and followed by ulama and people from any different place and thought of Islam. They always able to work together in creating individual and social forces by their abilities of social communication skills.

Abstract

The film "Victoria & Abdul" is a film with a docudrama genre that tells the true story of Queen Victoria who lived in 1875 and Abdul, a servant of Queen Victoria who came from India. In this study, the writer wants to analyze the content of the film from the point of view of the intercultural communication. The forms of intercultural communication proposed by De Vito. Of the eight forms of De Vito's intercultural communication, this is the main study in this study. There are only four forms that will be the limitation in this analysis, there is (1) communication between different religions, (2) communication between different cultures, (3) communication between subcultures with dominant cultures, (4) communication between different gender and (5) communication between different ethnic groups. The methodology used to obtain the results of this study uses the descriptive analysis method by Tzvetan Todorov. According to Todorov, every film has a story and plot. The story is the story of the film itself, and it is an idea, not a physical one, while the plot is the plot that determines how the story will be run, and this requires physical activity.

Abstract

This research explains the failure of fir un in communication is the result of failing to understand one's own communication and when it fails to communicate with itself, fir un has lost its power and as a result of Fir un's arrogance and wants to monopolize power and want his greatness to last, finally the destruction felt by Fir un. and he considers himself a god because he wants to dominate and treat other people, including those beside him. Until finally fir`un fell from power because fir un lost the trust of his own people. Fir`un failed to communicate with the environment until fir un carried out a massacre in his own community and people and was afraid of a replacement. And if they do not communicate and deliberate properly and have extraordinary ambitions, then fir un eventually lost power, because they had persecuted their own people because they were too confident in power and played with extraordinary attitudes, then fir un's power was destroyed. Self-destruction at fir un is indirectly doing self-destruction, So good communication is being able to bring power to a more advanced and dignified direction. Poor communication can be fatal and devastating. So the conclusion in this scientific work is that the basis of the study of naturaltology is that the failure of fir un in receiving messages and communication has caused its own destruction.

Abstract

Aceh reached its zenith, during the reign of Sultan Iskandar Muda Mahkota Alam. However he died at a young age, leaving an heir and legacy of enormous ruling power. Its main enemy, both in the military and in trade, is the European power in the Straits of Malacca. The Ruler of Aceh after his death had to deal with the Dutch colonialists who are interested in tin mining in the state of Perak in the Malay Peninsula. Perak at the time was under the auspices of Aceh. The main goal of this paper is to review the role and authority of the ruler of Aceh and Perak, when dealing with a Dutch ploy to monopolize the quarry. This study uses a qualitative method, with a fully literature approach. Based on the data analyzed, it was found that the Queen of Aceh and the Sultan of Perak managed to maintain the tin in Perak, from completely monopolized by the Dutch. The attitude of Queen of Aceh, and Sultan Perak's patience and diplomacy to treat the ills of the Dutch; finally resulted in the Dutch themselves have to bear the losses because of their greed by blockading the port of Aceh and Perak, who angered local merchants and foreigners.

Abstract

This illegal logging practice occurs in almost all districts in Aceh. The mass media should be part of the socialization of various illegal logging cases that have occurred in Aceh. News Serambi Indonesia is able to carry out an in-depth and comprehensive investigation of illegal logging in Aceh. Serambi Indonesia must be able to expose the involvement of the "big and important" figures who played in this case. The questions that will be answered in this research are Why does Serambi Indonesia Daily not report the issues of illegal logging in Aceh comprehensively and thoroughly? What are the problems and obstacles faced by the journalists of the Serambi Indonesia Daily in reporting on the issues of illegal logging in Aceh? The study used a qualitative approach with qualitative descriptive methods with data collection instruments carried out through interviews with journalists who had reported on illegal logging cases in Aceh. The coverage of illegal logging issues in the Serambi Indonesia Daily does not seem to have high news values. The value of the news in question is hardly interesting to follow because the news that is presented is never finished. The journalists of the Serambi Indonesia Daily are constrained by various things in covering and reporting on illegal logging in Aceh
