Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of discount, hedonic shopping value, and shopping lifestyle on impulse buying in the purchase of Erigo fashion products through the Shopee e-commerce platform. This study employed a quantitative approach using an associative research method. The sample consisted of 150 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with SmartPLS 4.0 software. The results indicate that discount, hedonic shopping value, and shopping lifestyle have a positive and significant effect on impulse buying. The findings suggest that consumers' impulse buying behavior toward Erigo products on Shopee is influenced by price discounts, enjoyable shopping experiences, and consumers' shopping lifestyles.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are under pressure to use digital technology while continuing to improve their business performance. In practice, however, buying technology does not automatically make an SME more productive. Employees still need the knowledge, skills, learning capacity, and ability to adapt that allow technology to be used well. This study develops a system-thinking framework explaining how human capital capability and digital transformation can work together to improve SME performance. A systematic literature review was combined with system-thinking analysis. Recent studies on human capital, digital capability, digital transformation, dynamic capabilities, organizational learning, innovation, and SME performance were reviewed and synthesized. The review shows that human capability is not a supporting issue outside digital transformation; it is part of the transformation itself. Human capital strengthens digital capability, digital capability supports digital transformation, and digital transformation creates opportunities for learning, innovation, and organizational adaptation. Better performance can then provide resources for further investment in people and technology. The study presents a reinforcing loop and a balancing loop that explain why digital transformation may accelerate when capability and resources grow together, but may slow down when the digital skill gap becomes too large.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) need continuous learning and innovation to grow in changing markets. However, SME growth is rarely the result of one factor. Learning creates knowledge, knowledge supports innovation, innovation improves market responsiveness, and better performance can provide resources for further learning and innovation. This study develops a System Dynamics model called the SME Growth Engine to explain these relationships as a feedback system. A systematic literature review is used to identify the main variables and causal relationships, which are then translated into a Vensim-style causal loop structure. The model contains reinforcing loops in which learning, innovation, market responsiveness, and performance support one another, together with a balancing mechanism associated with market dynamism. The model provides a foundation for future stock-flow simulation and scenario testing using real SME data.

Abstract

Sustainable food consumption has attracted increasing scholarly attention in contemporary consumer behavior research, particularly in emerging markets characterized by growing environmental awareness alongside continuing sustainability skepticism and authenticity uncertainty. However, prior studies have predominantly emphasized environmental concern and functional product attributes while providing limited understanding regarding how sustainability-related perceptions become psychologically internalized into long-term lifestyle commitment. This study therefore examines the relationships among health consciousness, perceived environmental value, consumer trust, purchase intention, and sustainable food adoption behavior within the context of hydroponic vegetable consumption in Indonesia. Drawing upon symbolic consumption theory, trust theory, and the Theory of Planned Behavior, this study proposes an integrated psychological framework explaining how sustainability-related perceptions influence environmentally responsible consumption behavior through affective trust formation. Data were collected from 385 consumers purchasing hydroponic vegetables in urban retail markets in Indonesia and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with LISREL. The findings demonstrate that health consciousness and perceived environmental value significantly strengthen consumer trust. Consumer trust further exerts the strongest influence on purchase intention and long-term sustainable food adoption behavior. The mediation analysis additionally reveals that consumer trust functions as an affective psychological conversion mechanism linking sustainability-related perceptions with behavioral commitment. The findings indicate that environmentally responsible food consumption is shaped not merely by rational product evaluation but also by emotional reassurance, perceived authenticity, ethical alignment, and identity-related lifestyle processes. This study contributes to sustainable consumption and consumer behavior literature by extending understanding regarding the affective mechanisms underlying environmentally responsible consumption behavior in emerging markets. The findings further enrich symbolic consumption literature by demonstrating that sustainable food adoption increasingly reflects psychologically and symbolically embedded lifestyle commitment rather than purely functional purchasing decisions.

Abstract

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are expected to use digital technology while maintaining business performance. However, technology investment does not automatically produce better results. The benefits of digital transformation depend on whether employees have the knowledge and skills needed to use technology, whether the organization can learn from digital information, and whether improved performance creates resources for further development. This study develops a system dynamics model to explain the interaction between human capital capability, digital transformation, and SME performance. A systematic literature review is used to identify the main variables and causal relationships, followed by causal loop and stock-flow modelling. The proposed model contains reinforcing and balancing feedback structures. The reinforcing loop shows how human capital development can strengthen digital capability, learning, innovation, and performance, which in turn can increase resources for further capability development. The balancing loop captures the digital skill gap that may slow transformation when technology develops faster than employee capability. The model provides a basis for scenario simulation and future empirical validation using SME data.
