Abstract

Purpose: to develop an interactive canva website-based learning media for the economic activities topic in junior high school social studies and to evaluate its validity and practicality. Method: this study employed a research and development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, comprising five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study involved 53 seventh-grade students for the needs analysis, 32 students for product implementation, two expert validators, one practitioner teacher, and five social studies teachers participating in a focus group discussion (FGD). Data were collected through observations, questionnaires, FGD, and documentation, and analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques to evaluate the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. Findings: the interactive canva website-based learning media, integrated with an economic laboratory, was very valid (95.04%) and very practical, as reflected in the practitioner teacher's assessment (94.43%) and students' responses (88.86%). These findings demonstrate that the developed media is feasible for teaching economic activities in junior high school social studies. Implications: the developed media can serve as an effective digital learning resource to support interactive, student-centered social studies learning. Originality: lies in integrating an economic laboratory, featuring simulation and educational games, into a canva website-based learning media for junior high school social studies.

Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the learning needs of elementary school students and examine how learning needs analysis serves as the foundation for implementing differentiated instruction, as well as to identify the challenges and potential solutions for its implementation in Indonesian elementary education. Method: this study used a narrative literature review with thematic analysis to synthesize research on elementary students’ learning needs and differentiated instruction from relevant academic sources. Findings: elementary students’ learning needs are multidimensional, encompassing cognitive development, learning styles, readiness, and learning interests, which collectively shape differentiated instruction. The study shows that these aspects can be integrated into Tomlinson’s framework of content, process, product, and learning environment differentiation. However, implementation in Indonesian elementary schools still faces challenges such as limited teacher competence, time constraints, classroom heterogeneity, and inadequate resources. Implications: a conceptual framework to support teachers in conducting learning needs analysis and implementing differentiated instruction in elementary schools. It also offers guidance for curriculum developers and future research to improve assessment tools and instructional strategies under the merdeka curriculum. Originality: a comprehensive integration of cognitive development, learning styles, readiness, and learning interests into a unified framework of learning needs, which has not been fully synthesized in previous studies on differentiated instruction in elementary education.

Abstract

Purpose: to analyze and compare the marketing strategies of gold savings and rahn products in increasing customer interest at PT Pegadaian Syariah Muara Enim Branch. Method: this study employs a qualitative descriptive approach conducted at PT Pegadaian Syariah Muara Enim Branch. Data were collected through observation, structured interviews with branch management, marketing staff, and customers, as well as documentation of relevant company records. The data were analyzed using the interactive model consisting of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification, with the marketing mix (4P) framework used as the main analytical approach. Findings: gold savings and rahn have different customer growth patterns. Rahn experienced more stable growth due to its role in meeting immediate financing needs, while gold savings showed fluctuating growth as an investment-oriented product. The 4P marketing mix, particularly community-based promotion and personal selling, contributed to building customer trust and increasing customer interest. Implications: Islamic financial institutions should develop product-specific marketing strategies by combining the marketing mix with trust-based community engagement to increase customer interest and strengthen competitiveness effectively. Originality: by providing a comparative analysis of gold savings and rahn marketing strategies within the same Islamic pawnshop context, revealing how different product characteristics influence customer growth patterns and marketing effectiveness.

Abstract

Purpose: to examine the influence of social media, visitor experience, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on visit decisions at the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque as a contemporary religious tourism destination. Method: this study employed a quantitative approach using a survey involving 390 visitors to the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS to examine the effects of social media, visitor experience, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) on visit decisions. Findings: social media, visitor experience, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) significantly influence visit decisions at the Al-Jabbar Grand Mosque. Among these factors, visitor experience and e-WOM represent the most influential determinants, indicating that meaningful on-site experiences and credible online information play essential roles in shaping visitors’ decisions. Implications: extending the application of the theory of planned behavior in understanding religious tourism behavior and offering managerial insights for improving digital communication, enhancing visitor experiences, and managing online visitor engagement to support sustainable destination development. Originality: lies in integrating social media, visitor experience, and electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) into a single framework to explain visit decisions in the context of a contemporary mosque as a religious tourism destination, which remains underexplored in previous tourism research.

Abstract

Purpose: to analyze the legal protection of marital rape victims in Indonesia from a victimological perspective, focusing on its status as a hidden crime, the factors contributing to secondary victimization, and the effectiveness of the existing criminal law framework in providing victim-centered protection, recovery, and justice. Method: this study employs normative legal research using statutory, conceptual, case, comparative, and human rights approaches. Legal materials consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary sources collected through library research and analyzed qualitatively using legal interpretation, conceptual analysis, and prescriptive analysis. Findings: marital rape in Indonesia remains a hidden crime influenced by patriarchal norms, economic dependency, unequal power relations, social stigma, and limited access to victim protection services. Although Law No. 23 of 2004 and Law No. 12 of 2022 provide an important legal basis for protecting victims, their implementation remains constrained by institutional and cultural barriers. The study further finds that a victim-centered, trauma-informed approach is essential to prevent secondary victimization and ensure victims’ safety, recovery, restitution, and empowerment. Implications: Indonesian criminal justice policy should strengthen victim-centered and trauma-informed approaches through improved law-enforcement capacity, integrated victim protection services, institutional coordination, and mechanisms for restitution and recovery. Originality: lies in integrating classical and contemporary victimological perspectives with Indonesian criminal law to develop a victim-centered framework for addressing marital rape as a hidden crime.

Abstract

Purpose: to examine and analyze the effects of good corporate governance, solvency, and firm size on tax avoidance. Method: this study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data from the annual reports and financial statements of property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 65 observations. Data were analyzed using panel data regression to examine the effects of good corporate governance, solvency, and firm size on tax avoidance. Tax avoidance was measured using the effective tax rate (ETR), while good corporate governance was proxied by the proportion of independent commissioners, solvency by the debt-to-asset ratio, and firm size by the natural logarithm of total assets. Findings: good corporate governance does not have a significant effect on tax avoidance. Solvency has a significant positive effect on tax avoidance, while firm size has a significant negative effect on tax avoidance. Implications: companies should strengthen the effectiveness of corporate governance and manage financing and tax strategies prudently. For investors, regulators, and tax authorities, firm size and solvency may serve as relevant considerations in assessing corporate tax-avoidance risks and strengthening tax oversight. Originality: lies in examining good corporate governance, solvency, and firm size simultaneously as determinants of tax avoidance in property and real estate companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2020–2024.
