Abstract

ABSTRACT Limitations in reading skills in children with hearing impairment caused by lack of vocabulary. This will hinder the process of capturing information. To solve the problem required innovation, one PQ4R strategy implementation. The purpose of this study to determine whether there is influence strategy implementation PQ4R the learning outcomes of reading skills of deaf students of class X Senior High School of Special Education Dharma Bhakti Patianrowo. The method used is quantitative research methods, the design of Pre-Experimental Design with the kind of One-group pretest-posttest design to compare the situation before and after beingtreated. The results showed that the value of Zh (2.20) and the Z table 5% (1.96), then to interpretation is Zh> Zt. So we can conclude that Ha accepted, meaning that there is the effect of applying PQ4R strategy on deaf children in class X in SMALB Dharma Bhakti Patianrowo.   Keywords: Implement strategies PQ4R, learning outcomes of   reading

Abstract

Abstract Learning skill was one of the learning which was really required by the blind. Learning skill could also be used as facility to enhance cognitive ability in understanding lesson material. The skill of science process, which could be applied to the blind students, was selecting organic and inorganic garbage skill. The developing of selecting garbage was aimed in order that the children could differentiate the organic and inorganic garbage using project method. A project method was learning which build the students’ motivation to be more active in solving problem dealing with processing garbage. This research purpose was to apply the project method toward selecting garbage skill to the blind students. This research used quantitative approach and pre-experiment kind. The research arrangement was “one group, pretest – posttest design” with the research subject i.e. the blind students of class VII numbering 7 students. The research location was in SMPLB-A YPAB Surabaya. The data collection method used test and the technique of data analysis used statistic non parametric of sign test. Based on the data analysis it indicated that ZH = 2,05 > Z table = 1,96 to 5% significant level (two sides test). So, it could be concluded that there was significant influence toward selecting garbage skill to the blind students using project method in SMPB-A YPAB Surabaya.     Keywords:  project method, selecting garbage.

Abstract

Abstract Learning model of ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, Satisfaction) As a lesson that instills confidence student, relevance with a children life and happily. This research had purpose (1) to state the readiness done by the teacher in the implementation of learning model of ARIAS in science for deaf student in SMPLB Karya Mulia Surabaya. (2) To describe the learning prosses in learning model of ARIAS in science by teacher and deaf students response, and (3) to describe the obstacles experienced in applying ARIAS learning model and solution will be given. The research used descriptive method of qualitative approach. research subyect is a teacher and deaf student in class VIII of SMPLB Karya Mulia Surabaya. The technique of data collection by observation, documentation and interview, data analysis used the steps of reduction data, display data, and verification / concluding. The results of the research are (1) the readiness done by the teachers in learning model of ARIAS in science lessons to deafstudent in SMPLB Karya Mulia Surabaya was arranging the modified syllabus and RPP, teaching materials adapted to the students ability, prepairing of learning media, and making assessment sheets. (2) The learning procces in learning model of ARIAS by the teacher in science lesson to deaf student could be applied well with percentage of implementation above 80%. ARIAS learning model gets good response from students, students are more active in learning and student evaluation result shows good learning progress. (3) The obstacles is the condition of interest in learning some deaf students are volatile change. The solution is to do variations of learning activities, doing ice breaking or giving more motivation by teachers and other students. The ARIAS learning model is more readily accepted by students with high abilities than students with less ability. the solution is to give more attention to the student with less ability and give understanding to all students to be able to work together.     Keywords : Learning model of ARIAS (Assurance, Relevance, Interest, Assesment, Satisfaction), science.

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Orientation and mobility abilities should be possessed by the blind students so that they could automatically recognize and master the environment where they lived. The technology development to the Smartphone based Android also began to be felt the utilization largely for fulfilling the daily needs by the blind students who could operate and had a Smartphone. The importance of mastering orientation and mobility abilities and supported by the technology progress to the Smartphone made the blind students assisted in mastering orientation and mobility abilities using the Smartphone based Android. The purpose of this research was to describe about (1) the implementation of mastering orientation and mobility abilities technique using the Smartphone based Android to the blind students in SMPLB and SMALB YPAB Surabaya, (2) the problems found to the implementation of mastering orientation and mobility abilities technique using the Smartphone based Android to the blind students in SMPLB and SMALB YPAB Surabaya, and (3) the efforts to solve the problems in implementing the mastering orientation and mobility abilities technique using the Smartphone based Android to the blind students in SMPLB and SMALB YPAB Surabaya. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative. The data was collected by using interview and observation techniques and the data validation test used triangulation technique i.e. joining data from a number of different data collection techniques and data sources which had been existed. To analyze the data, this research used data reduction, data presentation, and making decision. This research result indicated that the implementation of mastering orientation and mobility abilities technique used the Smartphone based Android for the blind students by utilizing the application of Taptap See and Eye-D to orient the environment around and by utilizing the application of online transportation order  to help having mobility in daily activity. However, there were several problems in the implementation either personal problem of blind students or medium factor i.e. Smartphone and the applications. In the efforts to solve the problems, the students of SMPLB and SMALB YPAB Surabaya used the basic technique of orientation and mobility by utilizing the medium such as a stick, to get more information through the other senses which still functioned, and to utilize the information from the normal people around.   Keywords: Orientation and mobility, Smartphone, Android

Abstract

ABSTRACT. Short fingers and arithmetic method is a way of calculating mathematics using the fingers by opening and closing the fingers as the needed to do mathematical calculations. The purpose of this study was to improve light mentally retarded students’ acounting ability in nineth class of  SLB.C Kemala Bhayangkari 2 gresik. This research used a quantitative approach using one pretest-posttest group with O1 C O2 pattern. The result of this research showed there was influence of short fingers and arithmetic method to improve light mentally retarded students’ acounting in nineth class of  SLB.C Kemala Bhayangkari 2 gresik. The total of postive deviation score was 740, meaning that this method was effectively applied forlight mentally retarded students’ acounting where the final result of Tobserved 21.50>Ttable 2.57   Keywords : Short fingers and arithmetic method, multiplication ability

Abstract

ABSTRACT. The problem in this research was the low ability of mild mentally retardation children of class II in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan – Sidoarjo to mathematics subject matter of 1 – 10 addition material. This research had purpose to know the children’s ability to the material of 1 – 10 addition in learning mathematics through bowling game. This research was a class treatment research using descriptive qualitative approach. The subject in this research was mild mentally retardation children of class II in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan – Sidoarjo which consisted of 4 boys and 2 girls. The instruments used in this research were the observation of children’s activities sheet and evaluation in the end of lesson. Through bowling game, learning mathematics of 1 – 10 addition could enhance the learning result of the mild mentally retardation children of class II in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan – Sidoarjo. This was proved by the enhancement of the children’s learning result to each meeting so that it reached 7,3 above the criteria standard of minimum completeness determined by the school i.e. 7,0. The children’s learning acitvity using bowling game to 1 – 10 addition ran well and effectively. The children’s response toward bowling game in mathematics subject matter with the material of 1 – 10 addition was very positive and fun.     Keywords: Learning mathematics, bowling game

Abstract

ABSTRACT The less fine motor skills of cerebral palsy children led to their difficulties in doing their daily activities especially in school environment like writing and other activities that require fine motor skills. The purpose of this study to know whether there is influence of quantum learning on the fine motor skills of cerebral palsy children in SDLB-D1 YPAC Surabaya. This study aims to train and develop fine motor skills of cerebral palsy children using quantum learning by applying motor activity. This research used a quantitative approach with pre-experimental research by One Group Pre-test Post-test Design. The subject of this study were 6 students of class 1-3 in SDLB-D1 YPAC Surabaya. The data analysis revealed that the average score for the pre-test was 37,40 and the post-test was 60,73. Using the sign test, it was obtained that Zobserved= 2,05 was higher than crisis values =1,96, meaning that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. Thus, it showed that quantum learning fine motor skills of cerebral palsy children  at SDLB-D1 YPAC Surabaya. Keyword: Quantum Learning, Fine Motor Skills, Cerebral Palsy

Abstract

 Abstract. The mild mentally retardation children in gross motoric got disturbance, this was caused by the limitedness of ability or intelligence and also less concentration. To handle the mild mentally retardation in gross motoric things it could be used a way i.e. managing the body through doing sport in the form of cheerful rhythm gymnastic. This research had purpose to describe the enhancement of gross motoric ability of class III mild mentally retardation children in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan through cheerful rhythm gymnastic i.e. they could do the cheerful rhythm gymnastic correctly. This research was a class treatment research which was implemented in 2 cycles and each cycle was done in 2 meetings. The subject of this research was mild mentally retardation children of class III in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan Sidoarjo. The method of this research was descriptive qualitative and the data collection technique used observation and documentation. The research success criterion was stated success if the value had reached minimum 75%. The research result was there was enhancement of gross motoric ability from pre cycle i.e. 37,7%, cycle I became 57,2% while cycle II became 80%. Based on the explanation above, it could be concluded that cheerful rhythm gymnastic could enhance the gross motoric ability of class III mild mentally retardation children in SLB Aisyiyah Tulangan Sidoarjo.         Keywords : Gross motoric, cheerful rhythm gymnastic.
