Abstract

This study explores the relationship between chemistry and spirituality from an Islamic perspective. Focusing on the concept of the "miracle of chemistry," this research aims to understand how chemical processes in creation can strengthen faith and bring individuals closer to the Creator. Through literature review and Islamic perspectives, this study reveals that various chemical reactions and natural phenomena are closely related to the signs of God's greatness as mentioned in the Qur'an. This approach is expected to provide deeper insights into the integration of science and religion, reinforcing the belief that scientific knowledge is a means to understand divine power. The results of this study indicate that understanding the miracle of chemistry from an Islamic perspective not only enriches scientific knowledge but also strengthens spiritual connection with the Creator.

Abstract

Abstract

Money politics is a fraudulent act by bribery/risywah candidate pairs or political parties in general elections. This action is done with the aim that they get a lot of votes to get a position. Money politics is often untouched by the applicable law, even though this is always done openly in every legislative election held in Indonesia. This is very contrary to how politics is taught by Islam: elections should be carried out fairly without bribery or risywah. This kind of cheating can have a negative impact on the country, as leaders who do not have the quality and credibility to lead may be elected. In the Qur’an it is mentioned and also explained by several hadiths the prohibition of bribery/risywah.

Abstract

Abstract

Marriage is a physical and mental bond between a man and a woman to form a happy and lasting family. However, marriage is required for two people who share the same religious beliefs. However, interfaith marriage in Indonesia is one of the most common phenomena. Islam openly prohibits interfaith marriage. Interfaith marriage is a complex issue in the perspective of Islamic law and has become a topic of debate in various circles of society. This article aims to examine the Islamic view of interfaith marriage, which is examined according to the Qur'anic texts, Hadith, and fatwas of scholars regarding marriage between a Muslim and a non-Muslim. Based on the research conducted, it is known that in Islamic law, marriage is considered invalid due to differences in religion, in the Compilation of Islamic Law (KHI), marriage between different religions is invalid. The results of the study show that interfaith marriages in Islam are considered invalid due to differences in beliefs. Some couples choose several alternatives such as conducting marriages abroad or through the courts to obtain legal recognition. However, the phenomenon of interfaith marriage still occurs in society and has become a debate related to human rights and freedom of choice. This is based on the view that religious differences can pose various challenges, both in theological and social aspects.

Abstract

Indonesia's economy currently faces challenges of instability, where the financial and business sectors play a crucial role in economic stability. Following the monetary crisis of 1998, there has been a shift in societal mindset from being employees to becoming entrepreneurs, with private financial institutions collaborating through Islamic economic principles that have proven to be more resilient in times of crisis. This article explores ethics in Islamic economics, focusing on sharia-compliant business as an implementation of Allah's commandments grounded in ethical values. Business activities, defined as economic efforts to generate profit, must prioritize responsibility toward consumers and society. Awareness of the importance of business ethics is growing among Muslim entrepreneurs, as Islamic teachings provide guidance exemplified by the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). This research aims to identify issues in business practices and offer recommended solutions, hoping to strengthen the ethical foundation in economic activities in Indonesia. Through the application of Islamic ethical principles, it is expected that businesses will not only focus on profit but also on sustainability and societal welfare.

Abstract

Halal food is food that conforms to the teachings of Islamic law, known as halalan thiyyiban. All halal food is inherently good, but the converse is not necessarily true—good food is not always halal. Therefore, for Muslims to avoid haram (prohibited) food, they should consistently consume halal food. Conversely, haram food is that which is forbidden in Islamic doctrine, and Allah typically prohibits things that carry inherent disadvantages or harms, whether known or unknown. Everything Allah forbids has an underlying wisdom. In terms of food, Allah emphasizes that humans should consume halal food that is both wholesome and nutritious and avoid alcohol. Regarding haram foods, Muslims are strongly advised to abstain as much as possible. The types of food prohibited by Allah include carrion, blood, pork, animals not slaughtered in the name of Allah, and animals that were strangled, gored, or attacked by wild beasts. The Islamic principles of halal and haram are fundamentally for the wellbeing of humanity, encompassing elements to maintain health, avoid danger, and exercise caution in food and drink consumption. Beyond just halal and haram, Islam also delineates three additional categories—mubah, makruh, and subhat—as a framework for communal choices in food and beverage intake. Ultimately, the laws of halal and haram are the sole prerogative of Allah, which are not open to negotiation.

Abstract

Every human being certainly has behavior that reflects whether a person is good or bad. In Islam, a person's behavior is closely related to morals. Morals can be said to be permanent traits inherent in the soul of every individual. Moral behavior itself is contained in the Al-Qur'an. In Islam, we as Muslims are encouraged to have good morals. Like Rasulullah SAW who always adhered to the Al-Qur'an so that noble morals emerged from obedience in carrying out His commands, avoiding His prohibitions, his manners, and the gentleness of his heart. We as the Prophet's people can certainly adorn ourselves with the noble morals of the Prophet especially Muslim women. Muslim women have an obligation to maintain their faith and morals in accordance with Islamic teachings so that they are among the best women according to Islam. If Muslim women have good morals, Allah SWT will certainly like them. Good morals can also have a positive impact on yourself and those around you.

Abstract

The development of LGBT communities (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender) in Indonesia has caused a lot of debates, especially about religion. In Islam, homosexuality is not allowed according to the teachings of the Qur’an and Hadith. This article talks about LGBT issues from an Islamic point of view and explains why religious beliefs often lead to the rejection of same-sex relationships. A survey of 66 respondents, 87.5% of them do not support recognizing LGBT rights. This shows that many people have negative views influenced by religious and cultural beliefs. However, some individuals are starting to understand the importance of human rights and agree that discrimination against LGBT people should stop. Public attitudes towards LGBT representation in the media are also mostly negative, with many people seeing LGBT as being very against religious values. These findings indicate that there are different opinions in society. While religious beliefs remain important, Indonesian society is changing as it balances strong traditional values with new ideas from outside. This article argues that the challenge in the future is to find a balance between respecting religious and cultural beliefs while also fighting for justice for everyone, no matter their sexual orientation.
