Abstract

This narrative review analyses the social development of students with special needs in Indonesian inclusive schools by synthesising five high-quality empirical studies (indexed SINTA 1–3) published between 2018 and 2023. Addressing three research questions, the synthesis reveals heterogeneous and generally limited social development trajectories shaped primarily by ecological interactions rather than inherent disability characteristics. Key barriers include symbolic inclusion, inadequate teacher training in multimodal strategies, low peer acceptance, and systemic resource deficits, whereas facilitators encompass contextualised multimodal communication, active family involvement, and supportive institutional leadership. Effective interventions depend on coordinated teacher–parent–peer triangulation, leveraging local sign language, structured peer-mediated activities, and emotionally responsive pedagogy. Integrating Bronfenbrenner’s ecological systems theory with Indonesian collectivist values of gotong royong, this review proposes a culturally grounded framework to bridge persistent policy–practice gaps. Policy recommendations include mandatory inclusive pedagogy certification, enforceable GPK-to-student ratios (1:10), and performance-based funding mechanisms.

Abstract

Pancasila education is one of the subjects that teaches the importance of understanding values in the surrounding environment. Understanding this value requires a higher order thinking process (HOTS), especially in grade IV elementary school as the beginning of the higher grades. The purpose of the research is to develop five items of HOTS-oriented question instruments in the material of daily application of Pancasila in grade IV that are valid according to elementary school teachers. The research method used is RnD with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, evaluate). The validation results show the first item question is 0.90 very valid, the second item question is 0.73 valid, the third item question is 0.87 very valid, the fourth item question is 0.83 very valid, and the fifth item question is 0.90 very valid. The results of the small group trial showed that students scored 90 and above with an average of 94 in the KKM guidance category. Thus, the results of the development of question instruments can be declared very valid and can be used to measure the higher order critical thinking skills of fourth grade elementary school students in Pancasila Education subjects.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the need for the development of Augmented Reality (AR)-based learning media as an innovative solution in elementary school learning. The needs analysis method was conducted using a mixed methods approach through questionnaires and interviews with 103 students and 5 teachers. The data were analyzed descriptively and quantitatively to obtain a comprehensive picture of instructional needs. The results showed that student needs were in the high category, with a percentage of 80.64%-85.30%. The socio-cultural aspect was the highest need (85.30%), followed by the pedagogical and technical aspects, while the cognitive aspect had the lowest value (80.64%). In the analysis of teacher needs, all aspects also showed a high category with a range of 77%-92%. The socio-cultural aspect was the most dominant (92%), while the aesthetic aspect had the lowest score (77%) but was still in the good category. The results of the media needs analysis show a range of 80%-85%, with the Cognitive and Aesthetic aspects obtaining the highest scores (85%), while the Pedagogical, Technical, and Evaluation aspects are at 80%. In terms of instructional design needs, the percentage results ranged from 80% to 86%, with the Pedagogical aspect being the highest (86%) and Aesthetics the lowest (80%). The research conclusion confirms that AR-based media has great potential for application because all aspects of the requirements are in the high category. AR is considered capable of increasing student motivation, conceptual understanding, and active engagement, as well as supporting more interesting, contextual learning that is in line with the demands of the Merdeka Curriculum.

Abstract

This study examines the role of the Bursa Kerja Khusus (BKK) in enhancing graduate employability at SMKN 1 Bandung. Using a qualitative descriptive design, data were collected through interviews with BKK staff, teachers, alumni, and industry partners, supported by observations and document analysis. The findings reveal that BKK functions as a strategic bridge between school and industry by providing digital job information services, facilitating structured recruitment processes, and maintaining strong industry partnerships. These practices effectively support graduates’ transition into the workforce. However, challenges persist, particularly related to limited soft skills and occasional mismatches between school competencies and industry demands. Supporting factors include an extensive industrial network and the use of digital platforms, while inhibiting factors involve soft skill deficiencies and competitive labor market conditions. The study highlights the need for strengthened soft skills programs, curriculum alignment, and expanded industry collaboration to optimize BKK’s contribution to graduate employability.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the need to identify effective dance learning methods that enhance dancers’ technical and aesthetic abilities, particularly in applying canon and broken design techniques to creatively reconstructed traditional dances. The purpose of this research is to analyze the effectiveness of the drill and imitation methods in developing dancers’ ability to apply canon and broken techniques in the Feto Hitu dance. The study employed a qualitative descriptive approach using field action methods. Data were collected through observations of the training process, interviews with instructors and dancers, and video documentation at the Dance Studio of the Music Education Department, Widya Mandira Catholic University, Kupang. Data were analyzed through stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the drill method is effective in improving movement precision, tempo accuracy, and synchronization among dancers, while the imitation method enhances the dancers’ understanding of style, character, and expressive movement. The combination of both methods strengthens the dancers’ ability to perform canon and broken design techniques, resulting in rhythmic, harmonious, and communicative dance compositions. These findings indicate that integrating the drill and imitation methods can serve as an effective pedagogical approach in teaching and developing traditional dance within art education settings

Abstract

This study examines the governance of basic education access for Indonesian Migrant Workers’ children in Sabah and Sarawak by focusing on the roles of multi-actors involved in service provision. Using a qualitative approach through in-depth interviews and document analysis, the study finds that the operation of Community Learning Centers is highly dependent on the interaction between the Malaysian government as the licensing authority, plantation companies as facility providers and funders, and the Indonesian government through Atdikbud, KJRI/KRI, and SIKK as facilitators of educational diplomacy and the roles of PMI communities. Non-governmental organizations such as Humana Child Aid Society also enhance access in areas not covered by CLCs. The findings indicate that education provision for migrant children is the result of adaptive, cross-actor collaboration shaped by coordination and negotiation on the ground.
