Abstract

Business Tortila Chips Insan Mandiri is a business that is engaged in theprocessing of corn. At one stage in the production process, i.e. the moldingstage tortilla chips, are still done manually so it takes a long time, shapes andsizes are not uniform. IbM program was implemented with the aim to increaseefficiency in the production process, especially in terms of shortening themolding and training partners to create a simple financial reports. Service activities using the dialog metode (FGD), introduction and applicationof technology, training, and assistance in an integrated manner. Technologythat introduced and applied to partners through this IbM activity is aTortila Chips display device to create rounded shapes, rectangles and hexagons.The training are simple financial bookkeeping trainings. Introduction to Tortilla Chips display device has been done and partnershave used these tools properly, so the shorter the time required, the productioncapacity can be increased, the product has a uniform shape and size so that thequantity and quality becomes better, which in turn will increase profits. Abstract

Community Service Activity (PPM) on training "Power ElectronicsApplications for Induction Motor Settings for vocational teachers in YogyakartaSpecial Region" conducted at the Laboratory of Power Electronics andElectrical Machine Laboratory in the Department of Electrical EngineeringEducation FT UNY. This activity is conducted by the PPM team consisting oflecturers in the Department of Electrical Engineering Education , FT UNY withthe aim of: (1) provide basic knowledge and skills application of power electronics circuits, namely a series of alternating voltage regulator for inductionmotor control; (2) provide knowledge and skills of the induction motor settingsby utilizing one of the instructional media in the form of a variable speed driveunit; (3) do the programming unit of variable speed drives for induction motorsrotation speed controlling; and (4) do the programming variable speed driveunit for braking the motor induction. PPM activities conducted during the three-day meeting with the allocation for 25 hours. The training material covers the theory and practice include:induction motor theory, the theory of series AC drives, AC drive circuit practice, and practice of induction motor control using Altivar 312. This trainingwas attended by 23 people who had a vocational teacher expertise associatedwith this training. Training method used lectures, discussions, question andanswer, demonstration, and practice directly. The achievement of this result can be expressed PPM activities: (1) theparticipants have increased knowledge and skills in power electronics and itsapplications to induction motor settings are indicated by an increase in the valueof the mean pre-test and post-test participants of 48.9 into 76.5; (2 ) of theparticipants felt the benefits of the PPM activity shown from a mean value of 95 96 3.46 questionnaire scores that can be categorized, this activity is very good; and(3) the participants can develop the training materials as a instructional mediafor the control induction motors

Abstract

The main argument of this community service is that office work as theservice in the government bureaucracy in the urban village is an action givingimportant contribution in improving the performance of the government bureaucracytopublicserviceandperforminggoodimagetothesociety.The priorities of the problem in the implementation of knowledge andtechnology for the society toward the office work in the urban village of Triharjoand Trimulyo, Sleman, DIY are the non-standard composition of the Indonesianletters, filling, the non-standard composition of minutes, and the problemsincommunicationbyphoneorinreceivingguest.Therefore, the implementation of the knowledge and technology for thesociety focuses on helping finish the priority problems in the office work in theurban village. It aims at fixing office work either through training or correctingthe office work so that it is suitable with the standard and improves the organization'simage through the service of the office work. The significant outcomeand recommendation of the community service of the knowledge and technologyforthesocietyisthestandardizedcorrespondence,standardizedfilingsystem,rightminutes,rightandpoliteetiquetteofreceivingguestandphonecalls.The result of this community service can be one of the inputs andcontributions for the office work in other urban villages and contributions forthe office work in other urban villages so that service quality of the office workcan be more optimum

Abstract

The aims of this activity are to: (1) disseminating the results of researchfrom a team of stewards on the development of integrated science worksheetsguided inquiry based to develop thinking skills and scientific attitude in order tosupport the implementation of Kurikulum 2013; (2) improving the skills ofteachers in guiding students to form a concept (concept formation); (3) improvingtheskills of teachers in inquiry approach in worksheet; (4) improving thecreativity of teachers in developing worksheet. The target participant of this activity is 34 teacher members of MGMPIPA SMP/MTs Magelang regency. This activity is done in three stages, includingthestage of theoretical training, practical training phase and the evaluationphase. The methods used are: modeling (simulation), lectures, discus-sions, andworkshops. The results showed that the overall activity of PPM activity has beensuccessful in reaching the target activity. Most of the participants are alreadyskilled in guiding students to form a concept (concept formation) IPA. Mostparticipants also been able to apply the guided inquiry approach in studentworksheet. In addition, the final product student worksheet also shows most ofthe participants have been creative in developing worksheets with student worksheetdevelop their own (not copy and paste) and includes the development ofhigher order thinking skills in student worksheet

Abstract

The purpose of this program are: (1) to create a design motif of wovenfabric "goyor" more varied; and (2) to make the color composition. The methodused in this program is the training and mentoring. The program is carried outin stages: (1) an increase in knowledge about the importance of developing adesign motif for expanding market segment; (2) provide assistance equipment;(3) training of development product design; and (4) assistance in the form ofconsultancy to the problems faced. Through this program produced three formsof design motifs. Products are finished with attractive colors compositions willincrease the selling price. With the help of tools and capital in the form of asewing machine and materials, the real impact that can be seen is the sustainabilityofthebusiness.

Abstract

Yoghurt making class is expected to increase the income of the people and the dairy farmers in the village of Gading, Glagaharjo, Cangkringan Sleman,YogyakartaaftertheMerapivolcanoeruption.Theactivitiesconsistof(1)surveytherealconditionofdairyfarms and the farmers in the Village Gading,Glagaharjo, Cangkringan, Sleman, Yogyakarta which was conducted on June 5,2014; (2) the TOT (Training of Trainers) for students who will assist in theyoghurt making class held on 26-28 June 2014, at Microbiology Laboratory,Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Yogyakarta State University; and(3) training on yoghurt making to the target community that was PKK Arimbiheld on 20-21 July 2014. The participants were 25 members of the PKK. Theconclusion is that the training went well as it was planned, the participants succeededin making yoghurt with various flavors, and also designing a businessplan. The members of this community are very interested in developing a yoghurtbusinesssinceitisprospective.Inaddition,thepeopleneedassistanceforthepackagingand marketing of their products. For further program if it is possible,participants suggested that there is a training on the diversification ofmilk and yoghurt products which can be marketed as food gift from Merapitourist areas

Abstract

The ibM community service aims at training the MGMP teachers ofbiology & indonesian language subject in yogyakarta municipality and slemanregency in order to have ability to develop test which is composed of divergentand convergent test items. Also, the teachers are able to perform qualitative andquantitative analysis to the developed items.  To meet the targets, this community service was conducted using lecturing;questioning and answering; and practicing techniques. With regard tothis,the practicing technique include: (1) writing test items, (2) performing deepunderstanding to the quality of test items qualitatively, and (3) analyzing itemsusing Quest program.Then,the researches guided the teachers throgh email todevelop a test which were used in their schools. The last activity was analysingtheir data using Quest program. The findings of this activity, the teachers had succesfully produced ablue print and a set of sample items  both divergent and convergent model andit was review between the participants. After each participants conducted of thetest administration on each school, the result of the Quest analysis showed thatsome items of the test was conducted by 21 MGMP teachers of biology subject& 16 MGMP teachers of indonesian language subject didn"t fit with the partialcredit model. That is because not all teachers are able to develop a good itemaand also the minimum of samples was tested by politomus scale items. As aresult, estimates do not achieve the expected results

Abstract

This activities is carried out in order to: (1) provide an alternative topost-harvest cassava in farmer groups of Mekar Sari Lor, Karang Gawang,Jumoyo, Cangkringan, Magelang regency which able to produce food based onmocaf that can be accepted by consumers, (2) provide an alternative toconsumers in food based on mocaf that ready to use and have a long shelf life,and (3) home industry development opportunities in Karang Gawang in anattempt to economic recovery after eruption of Merapi The steps taken to achieve the goal of this activities is to provide atheory  characteristic of mushroom and way of processing, sanitation, hygieneand food sertification, packaging and selling price determination and long shelflife; practice make flour mocaf and products based on mocaf, namely egg roll,sempe,kembang goyang, and pangsit. Preference test for the products, the calculationofthesaleprice;acceptancetestingforproductsandpricesattheconsumerlevelanddeterminationofshelflifeasoneofthedatathatwillappearinthepackaging.Alternative processing of cassava into mocaf flour be implemented. Theyield of mocaf flour from cassava is 35% with a production cost of Rp 3300.00.The sale price with 40% mark-up is Rp 5000.00. Diversification processedproduct based on mocaf flour are egg roll, sempe, kembang goyang and pangsitwhich have a shelf life of 3 months. This products have opportunities to behome industry development because have a competitive price; mocaf flour Rp5,000.00/kg, egg roll Rp 6000.00/100 grams, pangsit Rp5000.00/200 grams,sempe Rp 5000.00/100 grams, and kembang goyang Rp 5000.00/100 grams
