Abstract

This activity aims to enhance knowledge, skills and motivation ofprimary school teachers in post-disaster Merapi in creating a mathematicalgame that utilizes the natural around Merapi to be used in the process oflearning mathematics so as to foster positive attitudes toward children's naturalsurroundings. Prior to implementation, the team conducted observations ofnatural objects around Merapi, which can be used for math games. Observationscarried out in SD Cangkringan 2, as a training location that is one of theprimary victim Mount Merapi eruptions.The activity has been carried out for 3 days, ie Friday-Sunday on 30September to 2 October 2011 with a total allocation of time is 24 hours. Placeof activity is in SD Cangkringan 2 and in computer laboratory of SMK MuhammadiyahCangkringan, which is located adjacent to the SD Cangkringan 2. Inthe activity, which was attended by 31 elementary school teachers in this Cangkringan,servant teams conduct lectures, practical training and workshops andpresentation of results. The training materials include: orientation of learningmathematics in primary schools continued with the media game in elementaryschool learning that can take advantage of natural surroundings, and the use ofMicrosoft Power Point as a means of making learning media in primaryschools.Workshop in this activity has resulted five media for elementary mathgames, namely: Card monopoly for summation, multiplication and divisiongames with a quartet cards for the third grade, the number line games, game ofplace value and game for multiplication concepts. It also generated threesimulated games with Microsoft Power Point, namely fractional Games guess,guess the name of plane, and guess the number of coins. The activity that havebeen completed, it can be said to successfully meet its objectives. One factorsupporting this success is the spirit of the elementary school teachers who areeager to improve their competence in using the method of learning a game thatutilizes the natural surrounding and simulate with computer software.

Abstract

Sribitan IX which located in Bangunjiwo village has hilly topographiccountour that marginal soil. Most of the recident on sribitan village are in a notgood economical condition. About 51 families of the 282 families are poor.13.74% recident not finishing their elementary school, and 36.72% recidents arenot finishing their study on high schol grade and 21.8% recidents are unemployed.Most on the women are joblesss and some of the man arelabour andfarmer. Sribitan has youth organisation" AMUSRI" with 40 members thatconsist of senior and junior high school students, university student,and marriedyoung couple.Transfer of knowledge and technology is done with counseling, practicing,demplot, and comparative studying. Many kind of activity that give toparticipants on this program such as catfush farming, worm farming, verticaltureand producing instan beverages from fruits and spices.Yield of this submission are improving member of Amusri motivation toutilize the land, using their spare time to study, improving entrepeunerhip skill,and making Amusri member became more harmouniuos.

Abstract

Cow dung represent one of organic solid waste yielded from sectorof cattle. These days beef requirement will progressively mount so that sumup the number of cow is looked after by society also increase at full speed.In region Bantul the increasing of cow amount also give the production inthe form of feces in the form of solid and also melt manure. Cow manure inthe form of solid exist in one of group of livestock cage in unworkedorchard Celep Bantul maximally, most still be used by directly fertilizecrop. Cow manure as material organic is one of disease source for humanbeing because becoming place of various mikroorganisme live, despitefullyalso generate the aroma is not delicate and have potency to contaminate environment.Therefore this society devotion activity aim to give skilled to societyto can to manage the livestock dirt by composting. Compost from theprocess expected can be utilized by as healthier manure organic and canimprove;repair the land;ground condition of around mostly in the form ofland;ground sand.Composting of cow dung executed with the laminated heap methodbetween carbon component (C) and nitrogen (N). Linking cow dung ownthe ratio C / N of about 17, whereas ideal composting of C / N around 25-30, hence at this composting is] cow dung as especial material whichcompost have to be mixed with a carbon component in the form of strawowning ratio C / N of about 130. Composting executed at handbox fromlong fairish board wood 2m, wide 1.5 m and high 1.5m. Compostingexecuted during 12 month;, effective 9 month done/conducted by urning ofeach;every 3 week once.Result of composting indicate that the cow dunghave become thecompost at week 9, with the volume degradation of about 40-45%. So thatfrom 6 wight ton of early, after 9 week decrease to omit 4,2 ton. Cowmanure t become the compost distinguished by its colour is]black, odourlessand odourless crumb structure and also. Respon participants training verypositive because this newly performed by composting training untill finish,from planning till harvest the compost, screening and packaging. When204Inotek, Volume 15, Nomor 2, Agustus 2011conducted by test of phytotoxicity compost of the result of its compostingresult not yet communicable because compost still in stabilization phase.

Abstract

Basically this activity (Penelitian dan Pengabdian Masyarakat) haspurpose that is given to the sains teachers have to leads the unvisible andunauditory students so they can do Voice Thermometer well, in the Heat andTemperature lesson program. The Specific purposes of the activity are : (1)Leads the inclusive shcool teachers in the operation of Voice Thermometerin the realistic sains experiment, which is used by unvisible and unauditorystudents. (2) Write the experiments modules sheets to accommodateunvisible and unauditory students. (3) Make evaluation model of processesand products, that will be done by unvisible and unauditry students.The methods to plan the research use training in operation the VoiceThermometer and make the module sheets for unvisible and unauditorystudents, besides that also discuss the implementation sains learning bycontructivism approach and design the learning strategies. As the membersof the research are the inclusive school teachers for the unvisible andunauditory students in Yogyakarta. The sample of learning process is doneby students of Yakatunis Inclusive Junior High School (Sekolah LuarBiasa) and SLBN 2 Bantul. And the training research is held in two places,SLBN 1 Bantul and SLBN 2 Bantul.The results of the research and training activity are : (1) The Sainsteachers of inclusive school have been skilled in Voice Thermometeroperation. It gives quantitative measurement to accommodate the learning ofHeat and Temperature for unvisible and unauditory students. (2) Sainsteachers of inclusive schools can write the practce modules of Heat andTemperature for unvisible and unauditory students. (3) Sains Teachers ofinclusive schools can apply the evaluation model of process and product ofHeat and Temperature learning for the unvisible and unauditory students.The teachers appreciate of the new leraning equipment and learning strategythat have been developed by the research team, so the teachers desired toattend the next learning as they had been done before, and they suggest thelearning media that has been developed by the research team is usefull tolead the Sains learning.

Abstract

PPM - service learning activities aims to apply the results of research ononion crop productivity improvement as a strategic horticultural productsthrough bioharmonic audio system design as a natural growth stimulator frequencybased local animals. Particular purpose, are: (1) promote environmentallyfriendly technologies are cheap and can improve productivity and speed upthe onion crop harvest through community service in bukent corruption so thatthe resulting field of audio engineering and modification technologies bioharmonicsystem; (2) for the region contribute to community development programsPPM - based service learning fun and have significant benefits for students,the community and onion farmer partners; (3) obtain accurate data on theuse of variable frequency acoustic waves and sound intensity level that hasspecial characteristics for onion crop, thus increasing the productivity of onionbased indicators of yield and growth rate of onion plants from the aspects ofmorphology as well as shorten the harvest period.The design activities used are workshops and assisting in the creationand application of appropriate technology bio- harmonic audio source (ABH)with variable audio frequency change (f) 2000 Hz - 5000 Hz sound intensityand extent of 0 dB - 120 dB corresponding to the growth and onion crop productivity.Electronic circuit blocks including the source ABH SWG (SquareWave Generator) which form an astable multivibrator to produce a squarewave. Number 7 SWG that each - each issued a fundamental frequency of 2000Hz, 2500 Hz, 3000 Hz, 3500 Hz, 4000 Hz, 4500 Hz, and 5000 Hz.Activities undertaken in KKN - PPM has been able to realize these threeobjectives defined above which has managed to popularize the system bioharmonicaudio technology to increase productivity and accelerate the onion cropharvest through community service in the form of corrupttion.Percentage ofteam activities and the servants of corruption student activities that occur duringthe training process. Percentage of team activities devotees ranged from 10.5%to 35.5%. The most dominant team activity is explained training materials,namely 45% and 10% seek additional examples.while the activity is at least 4% provide feedback and to engage actively stimulate 5%. While the servicelearning student activity dominated by Listening/ attention explanation of theteam coach or student else CCN 40% and at least 50% is to ask questions andwrite down the things that are important 10%.

Abstract

The purpose of this activity were: (1) Providing instructional mediawith eco-education minded at the urban school with limited land area; (2)Providing knowledge about the benefits of a healthy environment and organicfoods; (3) Providing verticultural farming of organic horticultural plantskills to students.This service activities conducted with visiting the location, namelyin SMP Muhammadiyah 5 Patehan Lor Road Yogyakarta. The target activitywere 5 teachers and 25 students, the activities initiated by the pretestand ending with posttest. The activities included: (1) presenting the materialof a healthy environment and healthy food, nutritious and environmentallyfriendly; (2) demonstrating and practicing of verticultural farming of organichorticultural plants; (3) evaluating the effectiveness of action after onemonth activities.The evaluation was carried out by reviewing the one month activitiesto see success of practiced verticultural cultivation. Then, given a questionnairesheet about the activities benefits, and knowing the activities advantagesand disadvantages. This service activities could be said to be successfulbecause all participants were practicing the verticultural farming of organichorticultural plants in a groups.Keywords: eco-education, verticultural cultivation, and organic horticulturalplants

Abstract

Program the society devotion in Orchard Ngepring, Purwobinangun,Pakem, Sleman, Special Region this Yogyakarta aim to can make theyoghurt and cheese use the sour bacterium of laktat, can make the sourbacterium starter of laktat for the yoghurt of cheese and, can be non-stopedto make the yoghurt and cheese for the sale of as innovation of milk productafter existence of program PPM.Step of training Activity done by that is first through counselling ofmaking of milk product become the yoghurt and cheese; second give thetraining make the cheese and yoghurt with the method used by is: methoddemonstrate, and question and answer; and third conductthe evaluation fromcondition of citizen of pasca training and the increasing of skilled ofcompetitor.Result of training activity assessed enough succeed because citizencan mengolah of product of olahan milk become the industrial productolahan home. Abstract

The  voucher  program entitled  "Manufacturing  Static  Profiling  Machine(Router) for Small Wood Furniture Industries"  aims to increase  productivity  of the Indah  Jaya wood  furniture  industry especially  in profile  production  of the produced furniture.  It also wants to know the capacity and productivity  of such static router machine.The  steps  of  this  manufacturing  static  router  machine  are  planning,machine manufacturing,  and training for industry partner workers.  The planning step  includes  : (l)   designing  machine  plan  draft,  (2)  calculating  the  needed materials,  and  (3) calculating  the  implementation  cost.  The  machine manufacturing  step  includes  :  (1)  material  cutting  to  fit  the  work  draft,  (2) welding,  (3) assembling,  (4) electric installation. (5) machine performance  test, and (6) painting. The training for industry partner workers consists of:  (1) theory and speech delivery, (2) demonstration of machine using, and (3) mahcine using practice by the industry partner workers.The result of the voucer program is realization of a static router machine and skill acievement  by the industry partner workers in the machine operation. The static  router machine was made of right-angled  iron frame sizing 50x50x5 mm combined with steel plate of 3 mm thick. The machine is in 120x80x60 cm size moved by an electric motor power, SEM, of 0,5 HP and rotation  speed of2800   RPM.   The   machine   performance    and   productivity    especially    formanufacturing straight and curved, profiles for 9 mm size of meranti, kamper, and teak wood, is twice in speed as that of protable machines. If it is compared to that of manual profile planner, for manufacturing profiles with the same form and size, the router machine has five times in speed.Key words:   profile  machine,  small industry,  and wood furniture.

Abstract

Lack of knowledge and skills in product development making traditional potteryartisans in the village Pagerjurang not been able to increase the economic value of the products. While the potential of pottery in the village is very large, plus a slanted rotary tool which is the cultural heritage of the ancestors and the only one in Indonesia. On the other hand, the modern pottery craftsmen in this village already capable of making pottery as a work of art with a high economic value that integrates traditional pottery art with batik skills, which were developed are batik ornament, but have limited business capabilities to meet market demand. This IbM activities lead to create synergies between traditional and modern pottery craftsmen, so as to improve the business capabilities of both groups of the pottery craftsmen. The method used is the business couching, training, and knowledge and technology transfer. The results of the IbM implementation able to help artisans modern expand its production  apacity, craftsmen traditional pottery has led to the innovation of making pottery with batik ornaments, artisan pottery capable of calculating production cost and selling prices. Other than that IbM team give the oven test of glaciers and batik for media pottery tools
