Abstract

One aspect that needs to be considered in the assessment of learning outcomes is the quality of the test by a stable reliability coefficient. This study aims to determine the trend of the stability of the reliability coefficient of the mathematics formative test based on the sample size and the ability of the test takers. The study was experimental in the form of a simulation, using a population of scores based on the answers of 403 test takers. The research sample was taken from the population of scores with 19 variations in sample sizes. Each sample size was repeated 31 times with the return technique; the reliability coefficient was calculated for each repetition and was used as the unit of analysis. In addition to the differences in sample sizes, the differences in the abilities of the test takers were also seen in two categories of high and low. Data were analyzed using exploratory-descriptive statistics and analysis of variance. Results showed as follows: first, the formative test of mathematics that was developed by the teacher at school has a reliability coefficient in the inadequate category; second, the reliability coefficient of the test tends to be more stable with increasing sample sizes; third, the difference in the ability of the test takers does not make a significant difference to the reliability coefficient; fourth, there is no interaction between sample sizes and abilities of the test takers on the reliability coefficient of the test.

Abstract

Kebutuhan pangan merupakan kebutuhan primer masyarakat yang harus terpenuhi. Makanan pokok yang banyak dikonsumsi masyarakat Indonesia salah satunya beras. Beras yang berasal dari padi selalu diusahakan memenuhi untuk kebutuhan konsumsi masyarakat terutama di sekitarnya. Jawa Timur adalah salah satu provinsi penyumbang terbesar produksi padi di Indonesia.  Oleh sebab itu perlunya melihat pengaruh faktor-faktor iklim di beberapa wilayah produksi padi terbesar di provinsi Jawa Timur yaitu kabupaten Tuban, Nganjuk dan Gresik terhadap besarnya produksi padi di wilayah tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor-faktor meliputi suhu, kelembaban, curah hujan dan luas panen padi terhadap jumlah prodiksi padi. Data diambil dari website BMKG dan BPS tahun 2020-2022 di Kabupaten Tuban, Nganjuk dan Gresik. Metode analisis yang digunakan dengan memodelkan regresi non parametrik B-spline dengan beberapa kombinasi titik knot dari beberapa variable prediktor yang menghasilkan GCV terkecil dari kemungkinan banyaknya titik knot yang dicobakan. Hasil pemodelan mendapatkan knot optimum pada variabel X1 (suhu) berorde 2 dengan tiga titik knot bernilai 23,45584; 24,32467; 26,93116. Knot optimum pada variabel X2 (kelembaban) berorde 2 dengan satu titik knot bernilai 83,3828. Knot optimum pada variabel X3 (curah hujan) berorde 2 dengan dua titik knot bernilai 5,177247 dan 15,51238. Knot optimum pada variabel X4 (luas panen padi) berorde 2 dengan satu titik knot bernilai 16939,25. Nilai GCV minimum yang diperoleh adalah 18462458. Hasil analisis menunjukkan semua variable berpengaruh signifikan walaupun untuk variable iklim terdapat beberapa segmen yang kurang signifikan, dengan nilai adjusted R-Square sebesar 0,987. The need for food is a primary requirement of society that must be fulfilled. One of the staple foods widely consumed by the Indonesian society is rice. Rice, which comes from paddy fields, is always cultivated to fufill  the consumption needs of the community, especially in the surrounding areas. East Java is one of the largest contributors to rice production in Indonesia. Therefore, it is necessary to examine the influence of climate factors in several rice-producing regions in East Java, namely Tuban, Nganjuk, and Gresik regencies, on the level of rice production in those areas. The aim of this research is to analyze factors such as rainfall, humidity, temperature, and rice cultivation area on rice production quantity.  The data was collected from BMKG (Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency) and BPS (Central Statistics Agency) websites for the years 2020-2022 in Tuban, Nganjuk, and Gresik regencies. The analysis method used involves modeling non-parametric B-splines with various combinations of knot points from multiple predictor variables, resulting in the smallest Generalized Cross-Validation (GCV) among the possible knot points tested. The modeling results obtained the optimal knots for variable X1 (temperature) of order 2 with three knot points at values 23.45584, 24.32467, and 26.93116. The optimal knot for variable X2 (humidity) of order 2 was at one knot point with a value of 83.3828. The optimal knots for variable X3 (rainfall) of order 2 were two knot points with values of 5.177247 and 15.51238. The optimal knot for variable X4 (rice cultivation area) of order 2 was at one knot point with a value of 16,939.25. The minimum GCV value obtained was 18,462,458. The analysis results indicate that all variables have a significant influence, although for climate variables, there were some segments that were less significant, with an value adjusted R-Square of 0.987.

Abstract

Reading is an essential activity of learning. In this study, the researchers investigated the opinions of elementary school teachers, university students majoring in elementary school teacher education, and elementary school students on the mathematics audible book "Asyiknya Bermain Setatak". The researchers distributed questionnaires to collect the data. Data collection was carried out randomly using the random sample method. The respondents comprised 75 people (9 elementary school teachers, 53 university students majoring in elementary school teacher education, and 13 elementary school students) in Pekanbaru, Riau. The data were analyzed using  Rasch Model with item response theory (IRT). Based on the data analysis, all statements are valid and reliable, and it means that the items can be used to judge the design of the audible book "Asyiknya Bermain Setatak".Based on the results of the study, it was found that the audible book math media was in accordance with the learning of elementary school students. The use of math audible book is also easy to do by students, teachers, and prospective teachers. Math audible books also provide positive benefits in learning mathematics. Based on this, it can be concluded that teachers should consider using audible books as a media for mathematics learning.

Abstract

Students' understanding on the concept of a circle especially the relationship between central angle, arc length, and sector area of the circle based on learning obstacle and learning trajectory need to be developed well by creating a good didactic design. Therefore, it is necessary to design hypothetical learning trajectories (HLT) for students in learning sector area and arc length using the clockwork context. The didactical design was developed through three stages, namely: (1) the preliminary design; (2) teaching experiment; and (3) retrospective analysis. This study focused on the first stage, since the main purpose of this research was to develop a series of learning activities to delve into the concept of sector area and arc length as proportional problem in the form of HLT. The HLT was designed using a realistic mathematics education (RME) approach. There are three anticipated learning obstacles in the design of the activities, including errors related to the concept of the relationship between arc length, circle circumference, sector area, and circle area; errors related to the concept of the relationship between the central angle, arc length, and sector area of a circle; as well as errors related to the connection of concepts in circle material with other mathematical material; and students' difficulties in problem solving questions.

Abstract

Di era digital ini, dunia pendidikan dituntut untuk mengikuti perkembangan zaman. Salah satunya adalah penerapan digital learning. Digital learning juga kerap diaplikasikan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kesiapan siswa SMP di Kabupaten Purworejo dalam menghadapi digital learning pada pembelajaran matematika. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian survei dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada enam sekolah SMP dengan strata tinggi, sedang, dan rendah berdasarkan nilai Ujian Nasional matematika. Adapun sampel yang diambil sebanyak 171 siswa kelas VIII SMP. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah stratified proportional random sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui tes literasi digital yang terdiri dari 20 soal dengan bentuk pilihan ganda kompleks. Analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan estimasi parameter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kompetensi literasi digital siswa dalam pembelajaran matematika secara umum berada dalam kategori rendah. Rendahnya kemampuan literasi digital siswa menunjukkan bahwa kesiapan siswa menghadapi digital learning pada pembelajaran matematika juga rendah. Penelitian ini juga membahas bagaimana aspek-aspek literasi digital mempengaruhi kesiapan siswa dalam menghadapi digital learning pada pembelajaran matematika. In this digital era, the world of education is required to keep up with the times. One of them is the application of digital learning. Digital learning is also often applied in mathematics learning. This research aims to map digital literacy competencies in mathematics learning for junior high school students in Purworejo Regency. This type of research is survey with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted at six junior high schools in Purworejo Regency with high, medium, and low strata based on National Mathematics Examination scores. The sample of this study was 171 students of eighth grade junior high school. The sampling technique is stratified proportional random sampling. Data collection was carried out through a digital literacy test consisting of 20 questions in complex multiple-choice. Data analysis uses descriptive statistics and parameter estimation. The research results show that students' digital literacy competence in mathematics learning in general is in the low category. The low level of students' digital literacy skills shows that their readiness to face digital learning in mathematics is also low. This research also discusses how aspects of digital literacy influence students' readiness to face digital learning in mathematics.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui aspek proses, aspek produk, dan penerapan setelah dilaksanakan evaluasi pada program bilingual mata pelajaran matematika di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. Penelitian yang dilakukan menggunakan pendekatan Mix metode, diawali dengan penggunaan metode kualitatif dilanjutkan dengan kuantitatif. Model evaluasi context, input, process dan product (CIPP) digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan fokus pada dua komponen yaitu komponen process dan komponen product. Penelitian evaluasi ini menggunakan data penelitian kualitatif yang diperoleh melalui catatan wawancara, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Sumber data diperoleh dari guru dan peserta didik program kelas bilingual. Hasil penelitiannya yaitu pelaksanaan proses pembelajaran program bilingual termasuk pada kategori "Baik". Hasil evaluasi pelaksanaan penilaian program bilingual dengan menggunakan telaah dokumen berada pada kategori cukup dengan persentase 65%. Setelah dilakukan evaluasi, penerapan hasil evaluasi dengan melakukan refleksi atau membuat rangkuman dengan melibatkan peserta didik serta melaksanakan pengayaan didapatkan hasil bahwa penerapan hasil evaluasi efektif menggunakan uji t dengan nilai gain 0,32 kategori "Sedang" pada program bilingual mata pelajaran matematika. Kesimpulan dari penelitiannya ini yaitu secara keseluruhan proses pembelajaran program bilingual di SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta ketercapaian pelaksanaan dengan persentase yaitu 70,45% termasuk pada kategori "Baik". Pada kegiatan pendahuluan dan kegiatan inti sudah dilaksanakan dengan baik. The purpose of this research is to find out the process aspects, product aspects, and results of the implementation after evaluating the bilingual program in mathematics at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta. The research was conducted using the Mix Methods approach, beginning with the use of qualitative methods followed by quantitative. The CIPP evaluation model is used in this study with a focus on two components, namely the process component and the product component. This evaluation research uses qualitative research data obtained through interview notes, observations, and document studies. Sources of data were obtained from teachers and students of bilingual class programs. The results of his research are that the implementation of the learning process for bilingual programs is included in the "Good" category. The results of the evaluation of the implementation of the bilingual program assessment using document review are in the sufficient category with a percentage of 65%. After evaluating, applying the results of the evaluation by reflecting or making a summary by involving students and carrying out enrichment, it was found that the application of the evaluation results was effective using the t test with a gain value of 0.32 in the "Medium" category in the bilingual program in mathematics. The conclusion from this research is that overall the learning process of the bilingual program at SMP Muhammadiyah 3 Yogyakarta has achieved implementation with a percentage of 70.45% included in the "Good" category. In the preliminary activities and core activities have been carried out properly.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurang bervariasinya penggunaan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan pendidik sehingga berdampak pada rendahnya keterampilan berhitung perkalian dasar yang dimiliki siswa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui ada atau tidaknya perbedaan pengaruh penggunaan metode jarimatika dan metode permainan kartu terhadap keterampilan berhitung perkalian dasar siswa sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen jenis kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent pretest and posttest Control Group Desain. Populasi dan sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas II Sekolah Dasar berumur antara 8 – 9 tahun yang belum mempelajari materi perkalian, tetapi sudah mempelajari materi pertambahan sebanyak 40 orang Siswa yang ditentukan melalui teknik Purposive Sampling. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kedua metode ini memiliki pengaruh yang sama dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung perkalian dasar Siswa dilihat dari selisih hasil pretes dan posttest yang diperoleh yaitu sebesar 24,05 dan 25,6 . Kemudian, hasil perolehan gainscore yang diperoleh keduanya berada pada tingkat interpretasi sedang yaitu 0,55 dan 0,59. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode jarimatika dan metode permainan kartu tidak memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung perkalian dasar pada siswa sekolah dasar dan pengaruh keduanya sama-sama berada pada tingkat interpretasi sedang, sehingga kedua metode ini dapat menjadi alternatif solusi bagi pendidik untuk dapat diterapkan dalam proses pembelajaran materi perkalian dasar yang akan dilaksanakan guna meningkatkan keterampilan berhitung perkalian dasar siswa. This research is motivated by the lack of variety in the use of learning methods used by educators, which has an impact on the low basic multiplication calculation skills of students. Therefore, this research was conducted with the aim of finding out whether or not there is a difference in the influence of using the Jarimatika method and the card game method on elementary school students' basic multiplication counting skills. This research uses a quasi-experimental type of experimental method with a Nonequivalent pretest and posttest Control Group Design. The population and sample in this study were class II elementary school students aged between 8 - 9 years who had not studied multiplication material, but had studied addition material as many as 40 students who were determined using the Purposive Sampling technique. The research results obtained show that these two methods have the same effect in improving students' basic multiplication numeracy skills as seen from the difference in pretest and posttest results obtained, namely 24.05 and 25.6. Then, the gainscore results obtained by both were at a medium interpretation level, namely 0.55 and 0.59. It can be concluded that the Jarimatika method and the card game method do not have a different influence in improving basic multiplication counting skills in elementary school students and the influence of both is at a moderate level of interpretation, so that these two methods can be an alternative solution for educators to be applied in the process of learning basic multiplication material that will be carried out in order to improve students' basic multiplication calculation skills.

Abstract

Pemecahan masalah merupakan hal dasar yang seharusnya dimiliki siswa, terutama dalam mempelajari matematika, jika pemecahan masalah yang dimiliki baik maka kemampuan matematika nya juga akan baik. Penelitian ini memiliki  tujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan langsung maupun tidak langsung antara self-efficacy, dan representasi matematis terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian ex post facto. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa SMP Negeri di Kebupaten Pesawaran Provinsi Lampung. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu stratified random sampling jumlah strata sebanyak 3 dan untuk masing-masing strata berjumlah 24, 30 dan 26 siswa, kemudian dengan menggunakan rumus slovin maka diperoleh jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam pengumpulan data berupa angket self-efficacy serta tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis dan representasi matematis. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan langsung positif dan signifikan antara self-efficacy terhadap representasi matematis, serta representasi matematis  dan self-efficacy terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis, juga representasi matematis secara signifikan memediasi hubungan tidak langsung antara self-efficacy terhadap pemecahan masalah matematis. Problem-solving is a basic thing that students should have, especially in mathematics lessons, if the problem-solving they have is good then their math skills will also be good. This study aims to determine the direct or indirect relationship between self-efficacy and mathematical representation of students' mathematical problem-solving. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of research ex post facto. The population in this study were all-state junior high school students in Pesawaran District, Lampung Province. The Slovin formula was used to determine the number of samples, a sample of 60 students was obtained and the sampling technique used was stratified random sampling. The instruments used in data collection were self-efficacy questionnaires and tests of mathematical problem-solving abilities and mathematical representations. The results of this study indicate that there is a direct relationship between self-efficacy on mathematical representations, as well as mathematical representations and self-efficacy on solving mathematical problems. Mathematical representations also significantly mediate the indirect relationship between self-efficacy on mathematical problem-solving.
