The number line and the neutralization model have been used very extensively in teaching integer additions and subtractions for decades. Despite their advantages, issues concerning subtractions on these models are still debatable. Therefore, the neutralization on an empty number line (NNL) model is proposed in this research to help students better understand the meaning of integer subtractions as well as additions. This report is a part of a design research study conducted in a classroom of 28 elementary school students at the fifth grade. Data were gathered by collecting students’ written work, conducting interviews and observations during the teaching experiment. This paper focuses on students’ perceptions of the NNL model and what factors that might contribute to students’ achievements in understanding integer additions and subtractions. The analysis revealed that most students overemphasized on the use of the NNL model as a procedural method instead of as a model for thinking. Moreover, students’ mathematical beliefs and conceptions on the use of the column strategy and the absence of a discussion on the need of using the model are found to be some factors that could cause students’ misunderstandings. However, with a thorough planning, the NNL model has a potential to help students developing a meaning of integer additions and subtractions.

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan teori pembelajaran lokal pada konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat. Model dan konteks merupakan komponen yang menjadi perhatian penting dalam mendukung pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori pendidikan matematika realistik dengan model netralisasi pada garis bilangan (NNL) dan konteks penskoran serta permainan kartu bilangan dua warna untuk mendukung pemahaman konsep penjumlahan dan pengurangan bilangan bulat pada siswa. Dengan metodologi penelitian design research, Hipotesis Lintasan Belajar (HLB) dikembangkan pada tahap pertama, dilanjutkan dengan penerapan HLB tersebut di kelas, dan analisis retrospektif untuk membandingkan bagaimana proses pembelajaran berlangsung dibandingkan dengan desain HLB. Data diperoleh dengan mendokumentasikan pembelajaran di kelas, mengumpulkan hasil kerja siswa dan melakukan wawancara. Model NNL dan konteks penskoran serta permainan kartu bilangan dua warna memiliki potensi dalam mengembangkan konsep “tambah†dan “kurang†yang melibatkan bilangan bulat negatif. Namun demikian, beberapa perbaikan perlu menjadi pertimbangan dalam mengimplementasikan HLB di ruang kelas.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas penggunaan bar model terhadap kemampuan literasi matematika khususnya pada materi aljabar. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster sampling. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah 36 siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Kedua kelas yang dipilih berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal, memiliki varians homogen dan mempunyai kesamaan rata-rata. Pengumpulan data menggunakan tes tertulis yang dibuat sesuai indikator keterampilan literasi matematika pada materi aljabar sebanyak 5 soal yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang sama. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji-t dan taraf signifikansi Berdasarkan hasil post-test, diperoleh dan sehingga , maka ditolak. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan bar model lebih efektif daripada model konvensional untuk mengembangkan kemampuan literasi matematika. AbstractThis study discusses the efectiveness of bar modeling on specific mathematical literacy abilities in algebraic material. This research is quantitative research. The research method used is a research method with a sampling technique using cluster sampling. The subjects in this study were 36 students in the experimental and control class. The second class chosen is normally distributed, has homogeneous variants and has the same average ability. Collecting data using written tests that are made in accordance with mathematical literacy skills in algebraic material as many as 5 questions that have been tested for validity and reliability. Based on the results of the study, the experimental class and the control class were normally distributed and had the same variants. Hypothesis testing is done by t-test and significance level α = 0.05. Based on the results of the calculation, obtained and so , then is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of bar models is more effective than conventional models for developing mathematical literacy skill.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model generative learning dan connecting, organizing, reflecting, extending (CORE). Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen semu yang dilakukan pada kelas XI SMA Negeri 12 Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa diukur dengan tes yang dibuat sesuai indikator keterampilan berpikir kritis matematis pada materi integral sebanyak 5 soal yang telah melalui uji validitas dan reliabilitas. Kedua kelas eksperimen yang dipilih berasal dari populasi yang berdistribusi normal, memiliki varians homogen dan mempunyai kesamaan rata-rata. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, kelas eksperimen I dengan model generative learning dan kelas eksperimen II dengan model CORE berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians yang sama. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji-t dan taraf signifikansi Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan, diperoleh dan sehingga , maka ditolak. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa yang belajar dengan model generative learninglebih tinggi daripada model CORE.AbstractThe objective of this study was to compare in mathematical critical thinking skills of students who learn to use the generative learning and CORE models. The research method applied is a quasi-experimental method carried out in class XI SMAN 12 Jakarta. The sampling technique in this study adopted purposive sampling. Students' mathematical critical thinking skills were measured by tests made according to indicators of mathematical critical thinking skills of the integral material as many as 5 questions that have been tested through validity and reliability. The two experimental classes selected came from populations that were normally distributed, had homogeneous variances and had similarities on average. Based on the results of the study, the experimental class I (generative learning model) and experimental class II (CORE model) were normally distributed and had the same variance. Hypothesis testing is done by using t-test statistics with a significance level Based on the results of calculations, obtained dan therefore , then is rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the mathematical critical thinking skill of students taught with the generative learning model is higher than the students taught using the CORE model.

The purpose of this study is to identify, describe, and classify the types of student errors in solving indeterminate integral problems and find out the factors that cause these errors. This research is a type of descriptive research using qualitative research methods. The subjects in this study were students of the Mathematics Study Program FMIPA UNJ in 2018/2019 school year who were taking Integral Calculus courses. Data collection is done through tests and interviews. The test is conducted to obtain data on the types of errors made, while interviews are conducted to explore the causes of the mistakes made. The results of this study indicate the types of errors made by students based on the indicator approach are as follows. 1) Determine indeterminate integrals with the integration of substitution techniques. 2) Determine indefinite integrals with partial integration techniques. 3) Determine indeterminate integrals with the integration of trigonometric substitution techniques. 4) Determine indefinite integrals with the technique of rationalizing integrals. Factors causing errors include students lacking understanding of the concept of indeterminate integrals as anti-derivatives, difficulty in identifying the integrating techniques that must be applied, not proficient in carrying out integrating procedures, and errors in calculations.

Tujuan artikel ini adalah untuk mempresentasikan kegiatan pembelajaran mahasiswa berbantuan teknologi digital untuk memahami konsep dan mampu menyelesaikan masalah dalam perkuliahan matematika dasar. Penelitian ini adalah pre-eksperimental yang melibatkan 90 mahasiswa dalam satu kelas di salah satu STIKES di Jawa Barat. Teknologi digital yang digunakan adalah video online, game online, dan simulasi konsep matematika online. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes uraian singkat dan angket. Selanjutnya data dianalisis menggunakan model Rasch berbantuan software Winstep. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata peningkatan hasil belajar matematika adalah kategori sedang dan lebih dari setengah jumlah mahasiswa memiliki sikap yang positif terhadap pembelajaran matematika. Oleh karena itu perlunya penelitian lebih lanjut tentang kompetensi peserta didik melalui pembelajaran digital.

The Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) Numeration of the Program Merdeka Belajar is one of the components that will be tested in 2021 as a substitute for the National Examination (UN). The purpose of writing this article is to provide input on the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) design, especially in the field of numeracy related to content and cognitive processes. Writing this article is done using a qualitative approach through document review in the form of laws, government regulations, books and related journal articles. The result of this examination is the need for a Numeration Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM) design which contains the contents of numbers, algebra, geometry, statistics and odds as stated in Permendiknas No. 21 of 2016.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Fan N Pick lebih tinggi daripada Team Games Tournament. Penelitian dilakukan di dua sekolah, yaitu SMAN 1 Cibinong dan SMAN 2 Cibinong kelas XI IPA semester genap tahun ajaran 2018-2019 pada pokok bahasan limit fungsi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperiment. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan cluster random sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman matematis pada pokok bahasan limit fungsi sebanyak empat soal uraian. Instrumen tersebut telah melalui uji validitas isi, validitas konstruk, dan validitas empiris. Perhitungan reabilitas dilakukan menggunakan rumus Alpha Cronbach dan diperoleh koefisien reabilitas sebesar yang termasuk dalam kategori sedang. Berdasarkan perhitungan data hasil penelitian, data kesepuluh kelas berasal dari populasi berdistribusi normal dan memiliki varians sama atau homogen. Oleh karena itu, pengujian hipotesis statistic dilakukan menggunakan statistic uji-t pada taraf signifikansi α = 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian diperoleh = 2,4696 dan = 1, 9768. Nilai yang berarti tolak . Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Fan N Pick lebih tinggi daripada kemampuan pemahaman matematis siswa yang belajar menggunakan model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think-pair-square dengan pendekatan open-ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMA Negeri 48 Jakarta. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian yang digunakan ialah Control-group post-test only design. Populasi penelitian ini ialah siswa SMA Negeri 48 Jakarta. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling. Kelas X-IPS-3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas X-IPS-2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian menggunakan uji-t diperoleh rata-rata kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh dari model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe think-pair-square dengan pendekatan open-ended terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa SMA Negeri 48 Jakarta.
