Abstract

Refinery Unit (RU) V is a processing company owned by PT XYZ located in Balikpapan. Refinery Unit V has twelve warehouses with four warehouses being the main focus in this research of RGM, RMS, RIN, and RSP used to store products for refinery maintenance processes. In the initial conditions, there is a delay in traveling searching activities. The occurrence of delay in traveling searching activity caused by the absence of details of the product location clearly. The proposed product allocation is using Interaction Frequency Heuristic-Order Oriented Slotting method. The last step is to create a new layout for each RU V warehouse. The first step is to calculate the cycle time for each work order list by calculating the distance between the storage point with the point of I / O based on the aisle distance calculation. Next is to compare between the cycle time of each work order list with the standard time of the warehouse, so it will know the percentage of work order list that experienced delay for one year. Next, allocate product storage based on the popularity value of the product and the value of the interaction frequency between the products. The final step is to simulate using new work order list based on the proposed allocation layout to know the effect of change from the proposed layout. The result of this research is a new layout for each warehouse. All stock taking performance are better than the standard time while the exisiting condition violate the standard time.

Abstract

Abstract

In transportation activity, human need a transportation equipment such as car, motorcycle, plane, train, etc. As the number of urban population increase, the number of vehicle increase also, especially for country which has a big number of urban population like Indonesia. The more vehicle and private vehicle owned by urban population cause some effects. The first effect is air pollution that is caused by internal combustion engine gas emission that can give bad effect to human’s health. Second, the increasing consumption of fossil fuel which is one of unrenewable natural resources that we must keep the level of consumption so that we are not run out of fuel before it can be produced again. Third is the increasing of traffic accident which are caused by human error. Therefore, it is important to make a concept about future vehicle which is not use fossil fuel, environmentally friendly and equipped with smart system to prevent accidents. This research aim is to develop a car system concept which can help to solve this problem in Indonesia in 2025 using system engineering methodology from INCOSE which begin with need identification, stakeholder identification (context diagram), concept of operations (ConOps), stakeholder requirement (core functional matrix and QFD) and system architecting. The result of this research is a smart green car system masterplan in Indonesia in 2025.

Abstract

This research uses the Consultant-Guided Search (CGS) algorithm to solve job shop schedulingproblems minimizing makespan. CGS is a metaheuristics inspired by people making decisionsbased on consultant’s recommendations. A number of cases from literatures is developed to evaluatethe optimality of this algorithm. CGS is also tested against other metaheuristics, namely GeneticAlgorithms (GA) and Artificial Immune Systems (AIS) for the same cases. Performance evaluationsare conducted using the best makespan obtained by these algorithms. From computational results,it is shown that CGS is able to find 3 optimal solutions out of 10 cases. Overall, CGS performs bettercompared to the other algorithms where its solution lies within 0 - 6,77% from the optimal solution, averaging only 2,15%. Futhermore, CGS outperforms GA in 7 cases and performs equally well inthe other 3 cases. CGS is also better than AIS in 8 cases and is equally well in only 2 cases.
