Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui strategi guru dalam mengajar berbicara di kelas 10 sekolah menengah kejuruan di Denpasar. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan bagaimana guru merencanakan strategi mengajar berbicara dalam rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, bagaimana guru menerapkan strategi-strategi tersebut di dalam kelas, dan apa masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam menerapkan strategi-strategi tersebut. Tempat penelitian ini dilaksanakan yaitu di tiga sekolah kejuruan di Denpasar pada jurusan pariwisata, yaitu: SMK Negeri 3 Denpasar, SMK Negeri 4 Denpasar, dan SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar. Penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif yang melibatkan tiga guru bahasa Inggris yang mengajar siswa kelas 10 dari tiga sekolah kejuruan yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori strategi mengajar berbicara dari Harmer, Kelen, dan Bow. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi dokumen, daftar pengamatan, dan panduan wawancara. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa: (1) strategi yang digunakan oleh guru dari tiga sekolah kejuruan berbeda adalah role-play, discussion, games, reporting, picture describing, and presentation, (2) juga ditemukan bahwa kebanyakan dari ketiga guru tersebut menerapkan strategi yang sama untuk mengajarkan keterampilan berbicara, yaitu role-play dan discussion, (3) Ada beberapa masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru dalam menerapkan strategi. Masalahnya adalah pengelolaan waktu, perilaku siswa, kurangnya motivasi belajar dari siswa, dan strategi yang monoton yang digunakan oleh guru. Kata Kunci : strategi guru, penggajaran beribacara, sekolah menengah kejuruan Abstract This research aimed at investigating the teachers’ strategies in teaching speaking at the tenth grade of vocational schools in Denpasar. It is concerned with how the teachers plan the strategies on lesson plan, how the teachers implement the strategies in the classroom, and what the problems encountered by teachers in implementing the strategies. The settings of this research were three vocational schools in Denpasar under the tourism department, namely: SMK Negeri 3 Denpasar, SMK Negeri 4 Denpasar, and SMK Negeri 5 Denpasar. This research was a descriptive qualitative which involves three English teachers who taught tenth grade students from three different vocational schools. This research used the theory of speaking strategies from Harmer, Kelen, and Bow. The data were collected through document study, observational checklist, and interview guide. The result revealed that: (1) the strategies used by the teachers from three different vocational schools were role-play, discussion, games, reporting, picture describing, and presentation, (2) it was also found that mostly the three teachers implemented the same strategies to teach speaking, that were role-play and discussion, (3) there were some problems encountered by teachers in implementing the strategies. They were time management, students’ behavior, lack of motivation from the students, and the monotonous strategy used by the teacher. keyword : teachers’ strategies, teaching speaking, vocational schools

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) menemukan imbuhan yang terdapat pada dialek Menyali, 2) mendeskripsikan imbuhan dalam Menyali dialek yang memiliki proses derivation (imbuhan yang mengubah kelas kata), dan 3) mendeskripsikan imbuhan dalam Menyali dialek yang memiliki proses inflection (imbuhan yang tidak mengubah kelas kata). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Terdapat tiga sampel informan yang dipilih berdasarkan kriteria yang ditetapkan. pengumpulan data didasarkan pada teknik observasi, perekaman, dan wawancara. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah peneliti, perekam digital, kamera, dan daftar pertanyaan. Terdapat tiga tahap dalam menganalis data yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan terdapat empat jenis awalan {N-, ma-, pa-, ka-}, tiga jenis akhiran {-in, -ang, -e}, dan dua jenis awalan-akhiran {N-ang; ma-an} dalam dialek Menyali. Awalan dan akhiran dalam dialek Menyali yang merupakan proses derivation yaitu awalan {N-, ma-, pa-, ka-}dan akhiran {-in, -ang, -e}. Awalan dan akhiran dalam dialek Menyali yang merupakan proses inflection yaitu awalan {N, ma-} dan akhiran {-in, -ang, -e}.Kata Kunci : awalan dan akhiran, bahasa Bali di Menyali, proses derivation, proses inflection This study aimed at: 1) finding the forms of affixes in Menyali dialect, 2) describing the affixes in Menyali dialect that belongs to derivational process, and 3) describing the affixes in Menyali dialect that belongs to the inflectional process. This research employed a descriptive study by using qualitative approach. There were three informant samples chosen based on a set of criteria. The obtained data were collected based on observation, recording, and interview techniques. The instruments used to collect the data were the researcher, digital recorder, camera, and question list. There were three steps of analyzing the data, those were: data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verifying. The results of this study show that there were four kinds of prefixes {N-, ma-, pa-, ka-}, three kinds of suffixes {-in, -ang, -e}, and two circumfixes {N-ang; ma-an} found in Menyali dialect. Prefixes and suffixes in Menyali dialect that have derivational process were prefix {N-, ma-, pa-, ka-} and suffix {-in, -ang, -e}. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengembangkan materi menulis untuk mata pelajaran “front office” yang digunakan oleh kelas X di SMK Nusa Dua Sawan. Buku yang telah dikembangkan memiliki materi menulis yang berdasar pada silabus yang dimiliki oleh SMK Nusa Dua Sawan. Disamping itu beberapa materi menulis diambil dari situasi nyata di hotel guna menyiapkan materi menulis yang mencerminkan apa yang siswa hadapi di dunia nyata. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan dimana metode yang digunakan mengadopsi model ADDIE (1975). Terdapat lima tahap yang digunakan pada model ADDIE. Diantaranya adalah tahap analisa, tahan desain, tahap pengembangan, tahap pelaksanaan, tahap evaluasi. Tahapan – tahapan itu dikelompokkan menjadi 3 prosedur penelitian yaitu analisis kebutuhan, pengembangan produk, dan penilaian. Dalam mengumpulkan data, penelitian ini menggunakan beberapa instrument seperti observasi, angket, analisis silabus, dan catatan. Setelah mengumpulkan data, peneliti mulai membuat produk. Kemudian produk yang telah dibuat dievaluasi oleh juri ahli untuk mengetahui kualitas dari buku tersebut. Hasil dari juri ahli adalah “sangat baik”. Ini berarti buku yang dikembangkan sesuai untuk diberikan kepada siswa untuk mempelajari materi berbicara di mata pelajaran “front office” kelas X di SMK Nusa Dua Sawan Kata Kunci : front office, buku, materi berbicara, silabus, kebutuhan siswa This study was done to develop the writing materials for front office subject that was used in Tenth Grade Students at SMK Nusa Dua Sawan. The textbook which was developed had the writing materials that based on the syllabus. Besides that some materials was also taken from the real situation in the hotel, in order to prepare the writing materials that reflect the students into real life. This study was RnD research where the method that was used adapted ADDIE model (1975). According to ADDIE model there are 5 stages in developing the product there are Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Those stages were categorized into 3 procedures namely: need analysis, product development, and evaluation. In collecting the data, the researcher used several instruments, such as observation, questionnaire, syllabus analysis, and note. After collecting the need in the need analysis step, the researcher started to make the product. Then the product that was made was evaluated by the expert judgments in order to know the quality of the textbook. The results of the textbook that was given by the experts were excellent. It means that the textbook had been appropriate to be given for tenth the students in learning the writing materials for front office subject in SMK Nusa Dua Sawan. keyword : front office, textbook, writing materials, syllabus, students’ needs

Abstract

Penelitian dan pengembangan ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan materi E-learning Bahasa Inggris untuk tata graha untuk siswa kelas sebelas di SMKN 2 Singaraja. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan berdasarkan langkah-langkah penelitian dan pengembangan oleh Lee dan Owens (2004). Data yang dibutuhkan dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, kuesioner, dan expert judge yang kemudian dianalisis dengan cara kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa; (1) jenis materi yang cocok untuk mengajarkan Bahasa Inggris untuk tata graha meliputi topik: escorting guest to the room, entering guest room, taking and delivering laundry, giving direction about surrounding, handling complaint, and preparing for a job interview; (2) dalam mengembangkan materi ini, analisa kebutuhan siswa terlebih dahulu dilakukan melalui wawancara serta observasi praktisi dan guru untuk mendapatkan jenis-jenis materi yang sesuai dengan tugas para siswa saat sudah bekerja di industri pariwisata. Setelah itu, jenis materi yang sesuai kemudian dituangkan dalam bentuk desain yang menggambarkan tiap unit dalam e-learning. Desain tersebut kemudian dikembangkan dalam bentuk e-learning dengan runtutan yang logis dan berdasarkan pendekatan ilmiah (scientific apporach) yang dibarengi dengan expert judgement. Setelah tersusun dengan lengkap, e-learning kemudian diimplementasikan terhadap siswa kelas sebelas jurusan akomodasi perhotelan dan guru di SMKN 2 Singaraja. Setelah diimplementasi, e-learning kemudian dievaluasi melalui kuesioner yang kemudian diisi oleh siswa dan guru. Dari evaluasi tersebut, peneliti kemudian memperbaiki e-learning tersebut.Kata Kunci : Bahasa Inggris untuk Tata Graha, E-learning, Penelitian dan Pengembangan This research and development aimed at developing E-learning English for housekeeping material for the students of eleven grade at SMKN 2 Singaraja. This study followed the steps of Research and Development design which are proposed by Lee and Owens (2004). There were five steps conducted in this study, namely; Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The data of this study were collected through observation, interview, expert judge, and questionnaire. The data were anlyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. The result of the study show that: (1) the appropriate materials for teaching English for housekeeping subject should contains these following topics; Escorting guest to the room, entering guest room, taking and delivering laundry, giving directions about surrouding, handling complaint, and preparing for an interview; (2) in order to develop the materials, a design which describes each units of the material should be developed into an e-learning in a good sequences. In completing this e-learning, the next step is to implement it to the students of grade eleven and teachers at SMKN 2 Singaraja. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis jenis pertanyaan pemahaman bacaan yang digunakan oleh guru bahasa Inggris di SMA A di Singaraja. Analisis didasarkan pada domain kognitif dari Taksonomi Bloom Revisi. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desain penelitian kualitatif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah buku teks siswa, lembar kerja siswa, dan pertanyaan yang diajukan oleh dua guru secara lisan di kelas selama 4 pertemuan. Setelah menganalisis semua pertanyaan yang digunakan oleh guru, wawancara dilakukan untuk mendapatkan alasan guru dalam menggunakan pertanyaan-pertanyaan tersebut. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa pertanyaan lisan dan tulis yang digunakan oleh guru sebagian besar mengacu pada remembering factual knowledge dengan persentase 35,21% pada buku teks siswa, 57,95% pada lembar kerja siswa dan 45,61% pada pertanyaan lisan yang digunakan oleh guru selama kegiatan mengajar. Level pertanyaan kedua yang paling dominan digunakan dalam pertanyaan lisan dan tulis adalah understanding factual knowledge dengan persentase 35,21% pada buku teks siswa, 23,67% pada lembar kerja siswa dan 36,84% pada pertanyaan lisan yang digunakan oleh para guru di kelas. Dengan demikian, pertanyaan yang digunakan oleh guru lebih menekankan pada pertanyaan Lower Order Thinking (LOT).Kata Kunci : pemahaman membaca, pertanyaan, higher order thinking, lower order thinking This study was aimed at analyzing the types of reading comprehension questions used by English teachers in Senior High School A in Singaraja. The analysis was based on the cognitive domains of revised Bloom’s Taxonomy. The design used in this study was qualitative research design. The sources of this data were the students’ textbook, students’ worksheet, and the questions that were asked by the teachers orally in the class during 4 meetings. After analyzing all of the questions that were used by the teachers, interview was conducted in order to gain the teacher’s reasons of using those questions. The result of the analysis showed that the oral and written questions used by the teachers mostly refers to remembering factual knowledge with percentage 35.21% in the students textbook, 57.95% in the students’ worksheet and 45.61% in the oral questions that were used by teacher during the teaching activity. The second most dominantly used in the oral and written question was understanding factual knowledge level with percentage 35.21% in the students’ textbook, 23.67% in the students’ worksheet and 36.84% in the oral questions that were used by the teacher in the class. Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui jenis kesalahan apa yang dibuat oleh siswa kelas VII di SMP N 2 Seririt dalam tulisan mereka dan apa penyebab kesalahan dalam tulisan mereka. Ada 34 tulisan siswa yang dianalisis berdasarkan taksonomi strategi permukaan (surface strategy taxonomy) yang diajukan oleh Dulay et al. (1981). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan menggunakan teori analisa kesalahan dari Gass & Selingker. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada 253 kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh subjek penelitian ini. Kesalahan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah kesalahan pengurangan (omission) 183 (72,3%), kesalahan penambahan (addition) 25 (9,9%), kesalahan penempatan (misordering) 24 (9,5%), dan kesalahan bentuk (misformation) 21 (8,3%). Kesalahan pengurangan (omission) adalah kesalahan yang paling sering ditemukan dalam penelitian ini dan ada tiga jenis sumber kesalahan yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini, yaitu transfer intralingual (intralingual transfer) (86.7%), transfer interlingual (interlingual transfer) (10.3%), dan konteks pembelajaran (context of learning) (3,0%). Kata Kunci : tulisan, kesalahan, analisis kesalahan This study was carried out to find out what types of error made by students of seventh grade of SMP N 2 Seririt in their writing and what causes of the students error in their writing. There were 34 students’ writing which analyzed based on surface strategy taxonomy proposed by Dulay et al. (1981). This study was descriptive qualitative study. The data obtained were analyzed qualitatively by using Gass & Selingker’s theory of error analysis. The result of this study showed that, there were 253 errors committed by the subject of this study. The errors found in this study were 183 (72.3%) omission errors, 25 (9.9%) addition errors, 24 (9.5%) misordering errors, and 21(8.3%) misformation errors. Omission error was the most frequent errors found in this study and there were three types of sources of errors found in this study, those were intralingual transfer (86.7%), interlingual transfer (10.3%), and context of learning (3.0%).keyword : writing, error, error analysis

Abstract

AN ANALYSIS OF MORAL VALUES FOUND IN ROBERT FROST SELECTED POEMS By I Wayan Rengkuh Febri Subrata, NIM 1112021079 English Education Department ABSTRACT This research is entitled “An Analysis of Moral Values Found in Robert Frost Selected Poems”. This research that has been written in for analyzing the moral values point from the six selected poems namely : A Patch Of Old Snow, Dust Of Snow, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Devotion, A Question, and The Sound Of The Trees. This research use the library research method with supporting data from the internet. The Moral Values from the human behavior in good and bad. The first is A Patch Of Old Snow has a moral value to keep the kindness and love for peace and harmony. The second poem is Dust Of Snow that has a moral value of the forbidden way of the human action for killed himself. Killed himself as a part of the hell entrance or a wrong way of human choice in the new era. The third poem is A Question, that has a moral value for preventing ourself for the selfishness. Selfishness create the poverty and lack of humility. The fourth poem is devotion that has a moral value of unstoppable willpower of the human being for get the success point in their entire life. The fifth poem is Nothing Gold Can Stay that has a moral value of the beauty cannot stay in the long time. Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisa tentang perubahan morfofonemik dari Bahasa Inggris ke Bahasa Indonesia yang digunakan dalam majalah-majalah Info Komputer. Majalah-majalah yang digunakan adalah edisi-edisi spesial. Majalah-majalah tersebut dipublikasikan sekitar tahun 2014 sampai 2017. Penelitian ini merupakan content analysis karena data didapatkan dari majalah-majalah. Penelitian ini memakai model Interactive Data Analysis oleh Miles and Huberman (1994). Ada beberapa langkah-langkah untuk penelitian ini seperti, (1) Membaca, menandai, dan mengurutkan kata-kata yang dipinjam, (2) menerjemahkan kata-kata yang dipinjam, meletakkannya dalam tabel-tabel, dan menganalisis perubahan morfofonemik berdasarkan teori oleh Nida (1949), dan (3) menarik kesimpulan dari penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada lima jenis dari perubahan morfofonemik seperti, lima proses perubahan asimilasi, sepuluh proses penghilangan fonem konsonan, tiga proses penghilangan fonem vokal, satu proses perubahan palatalisasi, dan satu proses perubahan nasalisasi. Kata Kunci : kata-kata yang dipinjam, perubahan bahasa, perubahan morfofonemik This study analyzed the morphophonemic change of English words into Indonesian words which were used in Info Komputer magazines. The magazines which were used were special editions. The magazines were published around the years 2014 until 2017. This study was content analysis since the data were obtained from magazines. This study used Interactive Data Analysis model of Miles and Huberman (1994). There were three steps for this study such as (1) reading, marking, and listing the borrowed words, (2) transcribing the borrowed words, putting the words into tables and analyzing the morphophonemic change based on the theory of Nida (1949), and (3) drawing the conclusion of the study. The result of the study showed that there were five types of morphophonemic change such as five processes of assimilation, ten processes of loss of consonant phonemes, three processes of loss of vowel phonemes, one process of palatalization, and one process of nasalization.keyword : borrowed words, language change, morphophonemic change

Abstract

This study aimed at exploring the phonological and lexical variation viewed from age differences which occurred in Lemukih and Galungan village. This research was a descriptive qualitative research. There were 10 informant samples from both Lemukih and Galunganvillage were chosen based on predetermined criteria. The data were collected based on researcher as the main instrument and four other additional instruments namely: observation, interview, word list and recording. The results of the study show that, 1) there is an indication of phonological variation such asunpacking,haplology, syncope, aphaeresis and apocope, 2) there is an indication of lexical variation such as semasiological variation,onomasiological variation,formal variation and contextual variation, 3) the reason of a tendency of dialect variation viewed by age differences in both Lemukih and Galungan dialect is the development of the technology which leads to the broader access into villages and begin to imitate dialects outside of one’s villages Kata Kunci : dialect,phonological variation, lexical variation, age differences This study aimed at exploring the phonological and lexical variation viewed from age differences which occurred in Lemukih and Galungan village. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menginvestigasi (1) jenis-jenis TIK (Tekonologi Informasi dan Komunikasi) yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran (2) perencanaan penggunaan TIK dalam RPP (Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran) (3) prosedur penggunan TIK dalam mengajar Bahasa Inggris (4) masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru Bahasa Inggris dalam menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskripsi kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah tiga guru Bahasa Inggris yang menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data adalah peneliti, kuesioner, panduan interview, RPP guru, lembar hasil observasi, dan perekam suara. Metode pengumpulan data adalah survei, wawancara, analisi RPP, observasi, dan perekaman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru Bahasa Inggris SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura sudah menggunakan TIK dalam proses pembelajaran. Ada beberapa jenis TIK yang digunakan seperti laptop, LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) proyektor, speaker, video, Power Point, internet, dan pembelajaran online yaitu Quipper School. Sebelum menggunakan TIK, guru merencanakan penggunaannya pada RPP terlebih dahulu. Penggunaan TIK direncanakan secara eksplisit pada media, alat, dan sumber pembelajaran, sedangkan secara implisit pada langkah-langkah pembelajaran. Dalam menggunakan TIK, guru memiliki prosedur masing-masing, tergantung dari jenis TIK yang digunakan dan materi yang diajarkan. Guru menghadapi empat masalah utama yaitu masalah infrastruktur, masalah teknis, masalh waktu, dan kurangnya pengetahuan dalam menggunakan TIK. Kata Kunci : masalah dalam penggunaan TIK, TIK, TIK dalam pembelajaran This study aimed at investigating (1) types of ICT tools implemented in teaching and learning process (2) English teacher’ planning of the use of ICT tools in lesson planning (3) procedures implemented in teaching English using the ICT tools (4) the problems faced by English teachers who used ICT tools in teaching and learning process at SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura when using ICT tools in teaching and learning process. This study was descriptive qualitative research involving three English teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura. The instruments used for data collection were researcher, questionnaire, interview guide, teachers’ lesson plan, observation sheet, and recorder. The methods of data collection were survey, interview, lesson plan analysis, observation, and recording. The result of the study showed that English teachers of SMA Negeri 2 Semarapura had already implemented ICT tools in teaching and learning process. Types of ICT tools used were laptop, LCD projector, speaker, video, Power Point, internet, and e-learning namely Quipper School. Before implementing those types of ICT tools, teachers planned ICT tools in the lesson planning. The use of ICT tools were planned explicitely in teaching media and tools as well as learning resources, while implicitely in steps of teaching and learning activity. In implementing ICT tools, the teachers had their own procedures which depended on types of ICT tools used and topic taught. Teachers encountered four main problems namely infrastructural problems, technical problems, problem of time, and lack of teachers’ competence in using ICT tools. keyword : ICT, problems in using ICT, tools in teaching and learning
