Abstract

Matantimali village is a part of Sigi regency that currently has 147 households category zedas pre-prospero us families and the majority of them work in farming sector. This research was conducted in Matantimali village located exactly in West Marawola sub district of Sigi regency. The aim of this research was to determine whether such variables as education, number of family dependents, and asset ownership affected the poverty of the farmer households. This research was conducted fromJuly to August 2016.The samplesselected 50 households. Method used in this research was multiple linear regression analysis. The dependent (X1) and land area variables individually had significant effect on the income of the farmer households in Matantimali village.  Education dummy (DP) of those who weregraduated would increase the income compared with those who were not.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the production rate to reach break event point of roa fish sauce business of Raja Bawang Industry in Palu city and to determine the income and revenue of the roa fish sauce business. The exact location of the industry is in A.R. Saleh street No. 33.  The study was conducted in July 2016. The respondents consisted of one leader of the industry and two employees from the production section and two other employees from packaging section.Data was analyzed using the Break Event Point analysis. The income generated from 200g packaging of the roa fish sauce business was IDR 16,800,000/month with the production cost of IDR 11,258,416/month and the revenue of IDR 5,541,584/month. The Break Event Point reached for the 200g roa fish packaging was at the production rate of 270 packages with the selling price of IDR 35,000/package, thus the revenue generated from this selling price was 9,450,000/month.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the diversity and the evenness ofinsects as well as the production of soybean plants (Glycine max L.) sprayed with and withoutinsecticide. This research was conducted in March to July 2016 and located in Sidera village, Sigi Biromaru  , Central Sulawesi province. The identification of the insects was done at the Plant Pests and Diseases Laboratory of Faculty of Agriculture of Tadulako University. The number of families and species of the insects was not affected by the insecticide sprayed but on their individual number.  The diversity of the insects under the soybean plantation both sprayed and un-sprayed was categorically moderate.  However, the spraying could increase the production up to 3 t/ha compared to the non-spraying which was only2.21 t/ha.

Abstract

This research aim was toevaluate land suitability for dragon fruit plantation in  Maku village, Dolo sub district, Sigi Regency, Central Sulawesi Province. Seven land units were evaluated for their suitability. Survey was conducted in seven land units for observation on soil drainage, slope, stones, and root depth. Undisturbed and disturbed soil sample were taken from each land unit for physical and chemical analyses in the Soil Laboratory of Agriculture Faculty Tadulako University.  Of the seven land units, one land unit was classified as actual N1 (currently not suitable), another one land unit as S2 (moderately suitable) whereas the other five land units were categorized as actual S3(marginally suitable). The limiting factorsconsisted of texture, water, and soil pH. By correcting all the limiting factors existing in all land units, the actual classes of N1, S3 and S2 can be changed into the potential classes of S3, S2, and S1, respectively.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effects of growth regulators (ZPT) Growtone on pineapple seed growth (Ananas comosus L). The research used a Randomized Block design with seven treatmentsconsisting of without plant growth regulator, concentration 2 g Growtone/stem cutting,4 g Growtone/stem cutting,6 g Growtone/stem cutting, 8 g Growtone/ stem cutting, 10 g Growtone/stem cutting dan 12 g Growtone/stem cutting. All treatments were replicated 3 times, so there were 21 experimental units. The observation variables included plant height, leaf number, root length, and total fresh weight. Theconcentrations of theplant growth regulator (ZPT) Growtone at 2-12 g/stem cutting resulted in higher plant height, larger number of leaves and roots, longer root and largert fresh weight of the plant than without the growth regulator.

Abstract

This research aims to know the amount of the purchase of raw materials is the most economical and knowing the exact time of booking back in the industry "flamboyant" Village of the subdistrict Tawaeli the Palu City. Research locations selected intentionally (Purposive) on industry "flamboyant" which it produces banana chips with major raw material is banana horns. The respondent's determination was done deliberately (Purposive) by the number of respondents as much as 3 outsiders which consists of 1 and 2 employees. Methods of analysis used is the analysis of the inventory (Safety Stock, EOQ, ROP,). The results in this research showed that the number of economical raw material purchase banana chips should be done by the industry "flamboyant" in July 2015-June 2016 average of 756.08 Kg of seat Inventory 252 Kg. Reordering should be available in the warehouse as much as 630.04 Kg. The Total cost of the inventory budget issued industry “flamboyant” in July 2015-June 2016 an average of Rp 32,566.116.

Abstract

The research objective was to determine the physicochemical characteristics of acetylated arenga starches produced in varying amounts of starch. Modification of arenga starch with treatment of starch at 50, 200, 350, 500, 650, 800 and 950 g by adding distilled water as much as 112.5; 450; 787.5; 1.125; 1,462; 1,800 and 2,137 mL respectively, stirred using a magnetic stirrer for 60 minutes. Then added acetic anhydride 15%(v/w) at pH 8 were added 3% NaOH solution. Then added a solution of 0.5 M HCl to pH 4.5 to stop the reaction.Further starch precipitated and washed with distilled water two to three times and one time 75% ethanol, starch and then oven-dried at 50 ° C for 12 hours. Variable research of acetylated arenga starches include acetyl percent and a degree of substitution (DS), water holding capacity and oil holding capacity (WHC and OHC), swelling power and solubility, emulsion stability and viscosity. Results of research on acetyl percent (4.28%) and the degree of substitution (0.17). Physicochemical characteristics of acetylated arenga starches WHC (1.71 g / g), swelling power (36.40 g / g), solubility (1.32%) and emulsion stability (100.00%) higher than the native arenga starch while OHC (2.05 g/g) and viscosity (2933 Cp) with native starch is higher than the acetylated arenga starches. Then, on the characteristics of acetylated arenga starches can be applied to the food product as a functional food.
