Abstract

This study focuses on predicting hotel booking cancellations using machine learning to improve accuracy and operational efficiency. The methods used include Random Forest, Artificial Bee Colony (ABC), and Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT). ABC, which excels in optimization but is prone to local optima, is combined with GBDT for feature selection. The dataset used is Hotel_Bookings from Kaggle, with 119,390 entries and 28 features. The data is processed through cleansing, normalization, and split into 75% for training and 25% for testing. Feature selection is performed using ABC and GBDT, and the prediction model is built using Random Forest. Model evaluation using confusion matrix and metrics like precision, recall, f1-score, and accuracy shows accuracies of 86.17% and 86.65% for ABC and GBDT, respectively. Increasing the number of trees and features generally improves model performance, with feature selection showing significant performance improvements compared to models without feature selection.

Abstract

Abstract—Waste disposal continues to increase globally, causing environmental issues to worsen. Indonesia, with its rapidly growing cities, also struggles to manage all this waste. Numerous mobile applications were released to recycle waste more effectively. However, The rate of mobile recycling application adoption is still low. We contend that lack of awareness and knowledge on recycling is the main cause of low adoption from people, that makes them deny the need for recycling and individual responsibility. Hence, the purpose of this study is to find out if sociopreneur awareness implementation, workshop, on recycling application influence the adoption of recycling applications. TPB and UTAUT model is used to attest the acceptance of workshop on recycling application. Quantitative approach is employed in this study, using a questionnaire of 139 respondents. The structural model is calculated using Smart PLS tools, and the results are validation data. According to the results, the user's intention to use recycling applications with a workshop feature is positively and significantly impacted by four variables (T-Values ≥ 1.96), which are Functional Expectancy, Attemption, Support System, and Perceived Control. While, Society Influence have negative effects (T-Values 1.96) on the user's intention to use recycling applications with a workshop feature.

Abstract

Every year, the number of students accepted at the Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang continues to increase. Still, not all students can graduate on time according to the specified study period, resulting in a buildup of students who have not graduated according to their graduation period. One of the aspects evaluated in the Study Program accreditation process is the student graduation rate. Apart from that, for each semester, Study Programs are also required to report educational data to DIKTI, and student graduation is one of the factors considered in the report. There is an imbalance between the number of students graduating each year and the number of new students accepted. To overcome this problem, it is necessary to predict student graduation to determine whether they will graduate on time. In science and data analysis, predictions are often used to make predictions based on existing data and information. Classification models in predicting student graduation include the Nave Bayes method, Support Vector Machine SVM, and Random Forest, as well as the level of accuracy of these three methods. From the results of experiments and model evaluations carried out, with data from 458 Informatics Engineering Study Program students with details of 366 training data and 92 testing data, it was obtained that the SVM model had the highest accuracy, reaching around 87% and Random Forest also had good accuracy, around 82%. At the same time, the Naïve Bayes model has lower accuracy, around 76%.

Abstract

Every fingerprint that a human possesses must have a fingerprint pattern and must be unique. Each pattern has a ridge pattern that will not change as long as there is no change due to an accident or injury. This ridge pattern can be used as biometric recognition. Based on the ridge pattern owned, the fingerprint pattern is divided into 4 patterns, including the tented arch pattern, the whorl pattern, the loop pattern (ulnar loop and radial loop). The stage of fingerprint pattern recognition begins by looking for minutiae (termination and bifurcation) points on the fingerprint using the Crossing Number (CN) method. Before searching for CN, the fingerprint image must be processed using the Otsu and Zhang-Suen or Stentiford Thinning methods. Thinning is used to facilitate the extraction of minutiae in fingerprint images. The last stage in obtaining the minutiae point is classified by the Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) method. The results obtained from the test data were 30 images, 24 images could be classified correctly, and 4 images could not be recognized. The accuracy rate of the fingerprint pattern identification system is 80%.
