Abstract

The present and the future routing protocols in relation to the high throughput requirement, adaptivity to fast-changing link topology and speed makes the choice of routing protocol for unmanned aerial vehicle communication important. Due to this fact, an efficient routing protocol is highly dependent on the nature of the communication link. A flexible solution that presents these features is the use of light fidelity as a communication medium. Therefore, this paper presents the design of an interface protocol for indoor Flying Ad-hoc Network specific routing protocol using light fidelity as a communication link. The interface protocol governs communication when UAV move in a swarm. The architecture, the state machine model is discussed in this paper. Results of the design are validated via simulation using the NS3 in terms of packet delivery ratio and throughput.

Abstract

This study presents modulated-wavelength division radio signals over fiber with mixed modulation techniques in the transmitter stage. Hybrid optical sources are used to achieve optimal performance and enhancement for an optical fiber communication network. The proposed modulation techniques work at a frequency of 250 GHz. Optical quadrature phase shift keying (OQPSK) and phase modulation (PM) techniques were merged to create OQPSKPM. This was in addition to the minimum shift keying (MSK) modulation scheme that was applied in the proposed model. The modulated wavelength division multiplexing design to four subscribers was examined with a single mode optical fiber at a 1550 nm wavelength. The proposed and previous simulation models were executed, investigated and measured on important operating parameter quantities that expressed the behavior of the optical fiber network in detail, like maximum quality factor, minimum bit error rate, and output power. The obtained simulation results demonstrated the priority of the proposed simulation model.

Abstract

Orthogonal Frequency Code Division Multiplexing (OFCDM) is an attractive multiple access scheme for high data rate application in fourth-generation (4G) wireless communication system. Several previous researches were mainly investigated the performance of OFCDM based on variable spreading factor and subcarrier allocation. However, there are also several system parameters may affected the performance of OFCDM. For that purpose, this paper developes a model to investigate the impact of several parameters on the performance system of OFCDM over Rayleigh Fading channel as a realistic channel in wireless communication system. The proposed model is then created in the form of computer simulation using MATLAB programming in order to show the impact of several parameters for OFCDM’s performance including number of carriers, size of symbol, symbol rate, bit rate, size of guard interval and spreading factor. The simulation results show that the higher number of carriers, larger size of symbol, higher symbol rate, higher bit rate and larger spreading factor are giving the better system’s performance in terms of Bit Error Rate (BER). However, the larger guard interval is giving the worst system’s performance. So all the parameters should be considered in the implementation of OFCDM for the 4G wireless communication system.

Abstract

The level of attendance in an institution is very important because the credibility of a person seen from the high level of diligent presence or absence of the person. Like for example in activities at a university, data on the level of attendance of a student in a lecture to be very important because there are professors that considers presence as one of the components in the assessment. However, the system manually presence there it is less effective in storing the data. This study aims to design a system using barcode presence as presensinya data input. Presence system design includes three components namely the barcode found on the student card, barcode scanners Series CD-108E CCD (CCD scanner) and the computer. Attendance management through this system enables the optimization function Student Identity Card (KTM) equipped with a Student Identification Number. Use of this system will facilitate the presence to monitor student attendance mengontrolan the student. Presence system has been tested with several different variations of the KTM through the distance and position of the barcode on the barcode scanner. Test results obtained ideal position to barcode scanners barcode reading is at a distance of 2 cm with an accuracy rate of 100% and at an angle of 900 accuracy rate of 100%.

Abstract

Conventional erecting mechanism is cumbersome and the erecting velocity is slow, so a new hydraulic erecting mechanism is introduced in this paper. But it has two problems. First is the cooperation problem between the erect cylinder and the horizontal cylinder. Second, the nonlinearities and uncertainties exist in the system make the control precision poor. So the combined simulation model is built based on the software AMESim and Simulink. And from this model, the best cooperation time is confirmed. Further, the fuzzy adaptive PID controller is introduced to improve the control performance aiming to the nonlinearities and uncertainties. The fuzzy inference rules and parameters of the controller are also presented in this paper. Experiment results show that the cooperation time which received from the simulation is correct, and the fuzzy adaptive PID controller has nice tracking performance compared to the conventional PID controller and fuzzy controller.

Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the vibration behavior of a propulsion system subjected to hull deformations ina two dimension circumstance. As known that large scale ships have great developments in recent years which could cause much severer conditions among the interaction between the propulsion system and ship hull. Excited forces from thesea waves could make the ship hull deformed which further cause drastic vibrations of the shaft system. As a result, the malfunctions of shaft propulsion system are potential existed as the vibrations of the shaft always exceed its maximum allowable values. This paper establishes a simplified model of the large ship propulsion-hull system to analyze the vibration behavior of the ship propulsion system subjected to the ship hull deformations. The hull deformations were obtained as the excited forces under different sea conditions. Then base on the simplified 2D model, the effects of propeller, supports stiffness, the location of hull excitations, the amplitude of excitations are discussed.

Abstract

Antennas are generally contructed from metallic materials; therefore it is prone to corrosion when installed outdoors. Radome is an important part of an outdoor antenna that serves to protect the antenna from environmental conditions. Radome structure is not expected to have a significant influence on the characteristics of the antenna. Parametric study is generaly applied in finding the optimum antenna dimenssion included radome. A method for guiding a parametric study proses in finding the optimum antenna dimensions has investigated and proposed in this paper. In this study, a method for determining the optimum radome dimension for planar antenna by applying the algorithm Least Mean Error (LME) has investigated. LME algorithm is used to find the optimum dimensions of the radome. The simulation results show that the proposed method can be applied to determine the dimensions of a planar antenna.
