Abstract

Electromagnetic interference (EMI) due to lightning strike in Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) became a critical issue, since it could cause a severe damaged to electronic equipment which was installed in UAV. This paper proposed a method to reduce EMI by creating shield over the body of UAV with aluminum foil with thickness 0.15mm. A standard lightning impulse-voltage generated by impulse generator was delivered to the high voltage (HV) electrode at a particular distance from UAV. Indirect effect of lightning strike was investigated by measuring induced voltage inside the compartment of UAV fuselage during flashover between the HV electrode and UAV. Flashover between the HV electrode and UAV simulated the lightning strike. The result showed that the highest voltage only 1V at UAV compartment when 150kV impulse voltage supplied to the electrode with striking area on the wing. The measured voltage was far below 100V as the insulation level of low voltage equipment inside UAV. Although the direct effect of lightning has created a burning hole on the surface aluminum foil with thickness 0.15mm, the effect was overcome by increasing the thickness to 0.3mm. The application of aluminum foil over the surface of UAV repelled the electromagnetic interference which acted as a Faraday cage. The shielding method was successfully reduced the effect of EMI.

Abstract

Smart Grid (SG) provides enhancement to existing grids with two-way communication between the utility, sensors, and consumers, by deploying smart sensors to monitor and manage power consumption. However due to the vulnerability of SG, secure component authenticity necessitates robust authentication approaches relative to limited resource availability (i.e. in terms of memory and computational power). SG communication entails optimum efficiency of authentication approaches to avoid any extraneous burden. This systematic review analyses 27 papers on SG authentication techniques and their effectiveness in mitigating certain attacks. This provides a basis for the design and use of optimized SG authentication approaches.

Abstract

During the last decade, attention was paid to detect the accident and call the ambulance as soon as possible, the situation was neglected after the arrival of the patient to the specified service point. This negligence led to an increase in the mortality rate, especially where the highest percentage of deaths occurred during the first hour after the accident. This highest Mortality can be avoided by providing proper health care after the arrival of the patient to the hospital, the proposed system reduces the rescue time after the arrival of a patient to the hospital, and it requires each hospital to be endowed with a reception model responsible for detecting and reporting accident situations to the emergency service. It was be found that there is an urgent need for a web-based hospital management system with a mobile web service to respond immediately to incidents in the event of an accident. This system utilizes the Android phone application to connect to the server for transferring the specified data to the hospital and it can be used for comprehensive accident analysis and management. In this paper, a combination of Android phone application, database, and visual studio 2012 was used to develop the system.

Abstract

The electric motor is one of the appliances that consume considerable energy. Therefore, the control method which can reduce energy consumption with better performance is needed. The purpose of this research is to minimize the energy consumption of the DC motor with maintaining the performance using Hybrid Fuzzy-PID. The input of the Fuzzy system is the error and power of the system. Where error is correlated with matric Q and power is correlated with matric R. Therefore, adjusting the fuzzy rule on error and power is like adjust matrices Q and R in LQR method. The proposed algorithm can reduce energy consumption. However, system response is slightly decrease shown from ISE (Integral Square Error). The energy reduction average is up to 5.58% while the average of ISE increment is up to 1.89%. The more speed variation in the system, the more energy can be saved by the proposed algorithm. While in terms of settling time, the proposed algorithm has the longest time due to higher computation time in the fuzzy system. This performance can be increased by tuning fuzzy rules. This algorithm offers a solution for a complex system which difficult to be modeled.

Abstract

A radix-10 multiplication is the foremost frequent operations employed by several monetary business and user-oriented applications, decimal multiplier using in state of art digital systems are significantly good but can be upgraded with time delay and area optimization. This work is proposed a more area and time delay optimized new design of overloaded decimal digit set (ODDS) architecture-based radix-10 multiplier for signed numbers. Binary coded decimal (BCD) to binary followed by binary multiplication and finally binary to BCD conversion are 3 major modules employed in radix-10 multiplication. This paperwork presents a replacement technique for binary coded decimal (BCD) to binary and vice-versa convertors in radix-10 multiplication. A novel addition tree structure called as partial shifter adder (PSA) tree-based approach has been developed for BCD to binary conversion, and it is used to add partially generated products. To meet our major concern i.e. speed, we need particular high-speed multiplication, hence the proposed PSA based radix-10 multiplier is using vertical cross binary multiplication and concurrent shifter-based addition method. The design has been tested on 45nm technology-based Zynq-7 field programmable gate array (FPGA) devices with a 6-input lookup table (LUTs). A combinational implementation maps quite well into the slice structure of the Xilinx Zynq-7 families field programmable gate array. The synthesis results for a Zynq-7 device indicate that our design outperforms in terms of the area and time delay.

Abstract

This paper presents an efficient simulated annealing (SA) algorithm with a single decision variable to solve the economic load dispatch (ELD) problems. The philosophy involves the introduction of a new decision variable through a prudent mathematical transformation of the relation between the decision variable and the optimal generations. The objectives of ELD problems in electric power generation is to programmed the devoted generating unit outputs so as to meet the mandatory load demand at lowest amount operating cost while satisfying all units and system equality and inequality constraints. Global optimization approaches is inspired by annealing process of thermodynamics. The proposed SA algorithm presented here is applied to two case studies, which analyze power systems having three, and six generating units. The results determined by the proposed approach are compared to those found by conventional quadratic programming (QP) and genetic algorithm (GA).

Abstract

Matching process in tree is finding subtree in a given tree which to be replaced to variables those occur in pattern tree. It is an important problem that occurs as a crucial operation in functional and equational programming such as Term Rewriting System. We present an algorithm for matching process on such term in tree based on pattern matching. We linearize both given tree and pattern tree into string representation by using Euler technique and and apply prefix-sum to computers the rank of all linearized edge. And then we do matcing on string sequential.
