Abstract

Conversational recommender system (CRS) helps customers get products fitted their needs by repeated interaction mechanisms. When customers want to buy products having many and high tech features (e.g., cars, smartphones, notebook, etc.), most users are not familiar with product technical features. The more natural way to elicit customers’ needs is by asking what they really want to use with the product they want (we call as product functional requirements). In this paper, we analyze four factors, e.g., perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, trust and perceived enjoyment  associated to user’s intention to adopt the interaction model (in CRS) based on product functional requirements. Result of experiment using technology acceptance model (TAM) indicates that, for users who aren’t familiar with technical features, perceives usefulness is a main factor influencing users’ adoption. Meanwhile, perceived enjoyment plays a role on user’s intention to adopt this interaction model, for users who are familiar with technical features of product.

Abstract

In model based control, performance of the controlled plant considerably depends on the accuracy of real plant being modelled. In present work, an attempt has been made to design Internal Model Control (IMC), for three interacting tank process for liquid level control. To avoid complexities in controller design, the third order three interacting tank process is modelled to First Order Plus Dead Time (FOPDT) model. Exploiting the admirable features of Fractional Calculus, the higher order model is also modelled to Fractional Order First Order Plus Dead Time (FO-FOPDT) model, which further reduces the modelling error. Moving to control section, different IMC schemes have been proposed, where the fractional order filter is introduced along with the conventional integer order filter. Various simulations have been performed to show the greatness of Fractional order modelled system & fractional order filters over conventional integer order modelled system & integer order filters respectively. Both for parameters estimation of reduced order model and filter tuning, Genetic Algorithm (GA) is being applied.

Abstract

It is well known that sperm motility is the most important parameter in measuring sperm quality. Sperm motility can be measured manually by a medical veterinarian or using Computer Aided Sperm Analysis (CASA) system. Measuring bull sperm motility manually is the most popular method nevertheless it has major drawbacks which are subjective and high variability. CASA gives consistent results, hence it is an expensive system. Therefore, an alternative method is required. In this paper, a method to measure bull sperm motility was proposed, It was using ellipse detection and sperm head direction angle. The video samples were taken using a digital microscope. Compared with the manual assessment by medical veterinarians, the proposed method gave the average absolute margin of 5.16% which surpassed the previous method which gave 10.69%.

Abstract

This research aims to develop an automatic gamelan musical note player that can naturally play musical note as human does. A musician estimates time to hit an instrument button in an approximate time which is as close as to the target time. The tolerated time to play a note was identified based on the human play. A gamelan musician was selected to play five note sequences of songs, and the play was recorded to be analyzed. Execution time in hitting instrument buttons in human play was identified using time-frequency analysis and peak detection to define time range which can be tolerated as time value that not too fast or not too late in hitting buttons, and then the result of the analysis was used as parameters to randomize approximate time to play a note. The evaluation shows that the program played all note sequences in the approximate time as human does and the program played more natural and better than another program which played a note as exact as its time target.

Abstract

This paper describes the breakdown characteristic of the low density poly ethylene film caused by partial discharge in the air gap. The purpose of this paper is to clarify the effect number of discharge under repetition rectangular pulses with a needle-plane electrode system as a function of pulse frequency. The result performed, from 10 Hz up to 1000 Hz. From 10 Hz to 200 Hz, the pulse number up to breakdown did not change significantly with increasing the pulse frequency and the magnitude of partial discharge function of pulse number with varied frequency until breakdown were similar. By using both potential decay and surface degradation analysis function of number of pulse, the breakdown phenomena caused by partial discharge was shown to reveal a significant correlation between electrical properties and the transparency of its surface to change deposited on it by a partial discharge exposure.

Abstract

In general, photovoltaic (PV) array is not able to generate maximum power automatically, because some partial shading caused by trees, clouds, or buildings. Irradiation imperfections received by the PV array are overcome by applying maximum power point tracking (MPPT) to the output of the PV array. In order to overcome these partial shading problems, this system is employing particle swarm optimization (PSO) as MPPT method. It optimizes the output power of the solar PV array by Zeta converter. Output voltage of MPPT has high rate such that it needs stepdown device to regulate certain voltage. Constant voltage will be the input voltage of buck converter and controlled using adaptive PID. Adaptive control based on model reference adaptive control (MRAC) has design that almost same as the conventional PID structure and it has better performance in several conditions. The proposed system is expected to have stable output and able to perfectly emulate the response of the reference model. From the simulation results, it appears that PSO have high tracking accuracy and high tracking speed to reach maximum power of PV array. In the output voltage regulation, adaptive control does not have a stable error status and consistently follows the set point value.

Abstract

With the go on the evolution of both computer and internet technology, videos, sounds, and scripts are used more and more often. It can be used in sundry techniques in ciphering and data concealing. The objective of this paper is leading to the suggestion of a new method of the combination between encryption and concealment of information so as to make it difficult to identify the transmitted datavia networks. This study has used two force secure (2FS) to encrypt the images, in other words, the SF is frequent twice on the image, to obtain powerful encryption then the concealing of the secret message is done inside the cryptography of the image has been performed using a secret key (cosine curve), and this stego-encryption image has been transformed forthe Internet of things storage in the database in IoT (data flow), when the user needs any information can be access inviaof internet of things (IoTs). The outcome of the proposed system is obtained tobe evaluated through different measures, such aspeak signal noise ratio (PSNR), mean square error (MSE), entropy, correlation coefficient, and histogram. The proposed system is good, efficient, fast, has high security, robustness, and transparency.

Abstract

Telemedicine promises a great opportunity for health care service improvement. However, it has several issues for its implementation in certain area. They include communication service quality, infrastructure and operational cost. Since Wireless Mesh Network (WMN) is designed to reduce the infrastructure cost and operational cost, an investigation of network performance for implementation of telemedicine is required.  In this paper, a simulation to investigate the wireless mesh network quality of service.  Using network simulator 2, The QoS performance analysis was performed in different routing protocol scenarios of proposed system. It showed that OLSR protocol for Mesh Network maintained the time transfer of the EPT data. The field testing of the proposed system to measure the distance with various time has already been done.  The infrastructure has been also implemented using low cost 5.8 GHz transceiver for backhauls and low cost 2.4 GHz transceiver for clients.  Test result shows that the low cost telemedicine system is able to do real time communication between patient and medical staff with medical data rate up to 2 Mbps. It shows that telemonitoring system using wireless mesh network can give a low cost application in emergency time with acceptable medical data transfer quality.
