Abstract

This study addresses the gap in applying traditional service blueprint methodologies to technology-enabled coopetition networks characterized by simultaneous collaboration and competition among actors. Leveraging service science insights, it proposes an enhanced service blueprint framework designed for the complexities of digital coopetition. This framework introduces the cyber. Frontstage lane, physical backstage lane, and support stage lane aim to provide a holistic view of interactions, value co-creation processes, and resource allocations. Empirical validation within the Portuguese stone sector-a key player in the national economy-demonstrates the framework’s effectiveness in identifying network dysfunctions and its ease of use by industry professionals. Feedback confirms its relevance in capturing today’s coopetition environments’ multifaceted engagements and digital nuances. The study emphasizes adapting service blueprint methodology to better manage and innovate service processes in digital ecosystems. Future research should extend this framework’s application across various sectors and explore the integration of emerging technologies to optimize service delivery and value co-creation.

Abstract

In this study, the use of triple-sheet phosphor arrangement (TRP) in performing significant improvements to both color quality and luminous flux of white light emitting diode (WLEDs) is introduced. The phosphor layer of CaLaB3O7:Ce3+,Mn2+ is to accomplish green-spectra enhancement for the boost of luminous efficacy (LE), while MgB2O4:Mn2+ red phosphor layer is for red-spectra enhancement to better color rendering index (CRI) of WLEDs. The changes in these two phosphors’ concentrations present considerable effects on the yellow phosphor YAG:Ce3+ concentration, the color quality scale (CQS), CRI, and LE. Findings display the decrease of YAG:Ce3+ concentration accompanying the increase of red and green phosphor concentrations, for the stabilized average correlated color temperatures (ACCTs) between 6000 and 8500 K. Results also reveal that greater content of MgB2O4:Mn2+ leads to greater CRI value. Meanwhile using the increasing CaLaB3O7:Ce3+,Mn2+ concentration, the CRI lowers considerably. CQS, on the other hand, can increase with CaLaB3O7:Ce3+,Mn2+ concentration from 10% to 14%. Especially, given the enhancement for the CRI as well as CQS, LE value will surge to more than 40% due to the reduction of scattering light and the addition of green light. The outcome of the study is a priceless reference for light emitting diode (LED) producers.

Abstract

The quality of the website is quite important in generating customer satisfaction and loyalty. A website’s quality depends on several factors, features, and characteristics. Several computational methods are necessary to evaluate the quality of each factor and subsequently determine the overall quality of the entire website. Each factor does not contribute to the same level of quality required by the end users and thus requires a weighting system. Expert systems, which are either manually defined or learnt using artificial intelligence (AI), are to be modelled for assessing the quality of a factor/sub-factor or characteristics of a sub-factor. The quality of a website varies depending on the context. Context-based quality assessment of the websites is required. There is a need to generate example sets to assess the quality of websites and to establish relationships between web-related quality factors, subfactors, and characteristics. In this paper, a comprehensive framework is presented that caters to parametric structure building and mapping, parsers for computing characteristic values, context assessment, building expert systems, and learning models for assessing the quality of websites and weighing the factors that have specific significance on the quality of the website.

Abstract

Problems related to confidentiality in information exchange are very important in the digital computer era. Audio steganography is a form of a solution that infuses information into digital audio, and utilizes the limitations of the human hearing system in understanding and detecting sound waves. The steganography system applies compressive sampling (CS) to the process of acquisition and compression of bits in binary images. Rivest, Shamir, and Adleman (RSA) algorithms are used as a system for securing binary image information by generating encryption and decryption key pairs before the process is embedded. The insertion method uses statistical mean manipulation (SMM) in the wavelet domain and low frequency sub-band by dividing the audio frequency sub-band using discrete wavelet transform (DWT) first. The optimal results by using our system are the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) above 45 decibel (dB) and 5.3833 bit per second (bps) of capacity also our system has resistant to attack filtering, noise, resampling and compression attacks.

Abstract

The emergence of digital economies has led to the diffusion of digital innovation in business activities. A book-keeping digital application known as “Buku Kedai” is among the innovations invented by researchers to optimise entrepreneurial business performance. Despite offering tremendous benefits, its adoption is low. The intriguing phenomenon triggers the researchers to study the factors accelerating its adoption. Emulating the factors proposed by the theory of acceptance model (TAM), the researchers predict that adopting “Buku Kedai” is related to perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and subjective norms. The researchers distributed 300 questionnaires to Malaysian micro-entrepreneurs. However, only 248 data proceeded for further analysis. Employing SPSS 27 and partial least square-structural equation model (PLS-SEM) 3, the results indicated that all three variables, namely perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and subjective norms, are significant predictors of “Buku Kedai” adoption. The discoveries shed insights for policymakers, governments, and academia to formulate development programs for empowering entrepreneurs through digital and capability upscaling. Besides, the programs should encourage the involvement of social contacts to support microentrepreneurs in adopting “Buku Kedai”. Adopting the “Buku Kedai” application is crucial in enhancing microentrepreneurs' quality, viability, resilience, and competitiveness in pursuing success and sustainability.

Abstract

This paper presents an enhanced control strategy for optimizing energy capture in horizontal axis wind turbines operating in the partial-load region (region 2). The proposed approach builds upon conventional standard torque control (STC) by incorporating a generalized extended state observer (GESO) that follows the active-disturbance-rejection paradigm. Although traditional torque control methods have proven effective under steady wind conditions, they often lack robustness against disturbances, system faults, and model uncertainties inherent in wind energy systems. The proposed observer-assisted control scheme addresses these limitations by estimating and compensating for total disturbance signals, including non-modeled dynamics, parameter uncertainties, and actuator faults. The effectiveness of the proposed control strategy is validated through comprehensive simulations using a 5 MW wind turbine model subjected to realistic operational conditions. Simulation scenarios include turbulent wind speed profiles and actuator degradation to assess controller performance. The results demonstrate improved robustness and energy capture efficiency compared to the conventional control approach, while maintaining the simplicity of the implementation. This work contributes to the development of more reliable wind energy conversion systems (WECSs) by offering a practical solution that improves both performance and fault tolerance in partial load operation.

Abstract

The objective of this work is to take a step further in this direction by incorporating voice control and artificial intelligence (AI) into internet of things (IoT)-based smart home systems to create more efficient automated smart home systems. Accordingly, a home automation system proposal is presented, in which the related functions can be controlled by voice commands using an android or web application via a chat form. The user issues a voice command, which is deciphered by natural language processing (NLP). To accommodate the user’s request, the NLP classifies it into operation commands. Arduino and Raspberry Pi are used to translate the commands extracted from NLP into reality. Based on this, home applications can be controlled. Also, the utilities consumption could be calculated, saved, and paid on time. This is in addition to the introduction of a machine learning (ML)-based recommendation system for automated home appliance control. In this approach, the mobile or web application is considered as the central controller, deciding the appropriate actions to fulfill the user’s desires. The presented work has been put into practice and tested. It proved to be applicable, as well as having the potential for making home life more comfortable, economic, and safe.

Abstract

Smooth and stable gait generation is critical for quadruped robots operating in unstructured environments. This paper introduces a constrained Bézier fitting framework. It enforces tangent continuity (?1 continuity) at the gait cycle junction. This continuity addresses the tangential discontinuities that commonly arise in unconstrained Bézier trajectories. The method formulates foot-trajectory design as a constrained least-squares problem solved via Lagrange multipliers, enabling the control points to simultaneously satisfy interpolation targets and matched-tangent conditions. The resulting curves retain the geometric flexibility of classical Bézier parametrizations while producing well-behaved velocity profiles suitable for legged locomotion. These trajectories are integrated into an impedance-controlled leg model and evaluated in the MuJoCo simulator. Simulation results indicate noticeable reductions in torque spikes and improvements in tracking accuracy when compared to unconstrained Bézier and spline baselines, with representative trials showing reductions on the order of 40% and tracking improvements of approximately 25%. The proposed approach combines mathematical rigor with practical applicability, providing an efficient and reliable solution for high-performance quadruped gait planning.

Abstract

This paper presents an N-metal-oxide semiconductor (NMOS) rectifier designed for efficient radio frequency (RF) energy harvesting and wireless power transmission in passive ultra-high frequency (UHF) radio frequency identification (RFID) applications. The rectifier’s efficiency is improved through an innovative diode with a new block connection, reducing the threshold voltage compared to conventional diode transistors. This enhancement significantly boosts output voltage and efficiency. A seven-stage configuration, based on the proposed diode and optimized via a superposition method, has been evaluated for its ability to increase DC output voltage and power conversion efficiency (PCE), particularly at low RF input power levels. Simulations show a PCE of 63% at 900 MHz with an RF input of -11 dBm, delivering 1.610 V across a 0.518 MΩ load. Notably, the rectifier maintains a PCE above 30% across a wide input power range from -32 dBm to -5 dBm, overcoming a key challenge of maintaining efficiency under low input power conditions. The circuit architecture was implemented using standard 180 nm TSMC CMOS technology, showcasing its practical applicability in RFID systems.

Abstract

A new method using microstrip patch sensor is designed, simulated, and measured to detect the dosage of added chlorine to the drinking water using the relation between permittivity and matching impedance. The simulation is done using computer simulation technology-microwave studio software. The proposed sensor is designed on a single FR-4 layer with a low profile, 0.499 GHz bandwidth, center frequency of 2.94 GHz, gain of 6.55 dBi, and a good front to back ratio of 17.84 dB. In this work, the antenna design is started from a conventional patch antenna equation. Then, an optimization process is performed to achieve good parameter values for obtaining the desired objective. The objective is to utilize the microwave frequency to measure the chlorine dosage in water. The measurement results proved that the matching impedance can be used to find out the dosage of chlorine in drinkable water. The proposed method overcomes the open-ended coaxial probe method in terms of experimental time and contactless testing and shows high matching with the latter actual data. Moreover, the proposed method overcomes the conventional methods in terms of continuity and large scale of testing, non-contacting with the samples of water, and no additive chemical materials, which make the water samples not drinkable.
