Abstract

Background: The quality of health services in hospitals is strongly influenced by the process of service delivery and the quality factor of physical facilities, drugs and medical devices of human resources. The purpose of this study is to look at the relationship between the quality of care with patient satisfaction BPJS participants in District hospital DIY. Method: This research was quantitative research, with cross sectional design. It was conducted in Sleman district Hospital and Bantul District Hospital. The number of samples in this research was 203 patients on BPJS. Analysis of the data used in the bivariate analysis using chi-square test, and multivariate analysis using linear regression analysis. Results: The results showed p-value of all the variables is smaller than the value α (0.000<0.05), so it can be concluded that Ha Ho accepted and rejected. The order of the strength of the relationship is the largest to the smallest empathy (OR=0.342), tangibility (OR=0.280), reliability (OR=0.266) and assurance (OR=0.230) as well as variable responsiveness has a p-value 0.215. Conclusion: There were no relationship between tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy and patient satisfaction with service quality. Abstract

Background: People who live in a poor condition of house or in a bad environment quality can attract flies to thrive and transmit disease. In the protection against disease, the house should have safe and clean facilities and being prevented from vector that has role in transmitting the disease, such as housefly. Residential area in Cipayung village, especially around final waste disposal (TPA) Cipayung, Depok with a radius of 200 meters from the landfill of  final waste disposal has the potential to become perching place of housefly, because of flight range of housefly can reach around 200-1000 meters. Method: This research is done by a cross sectional study design that aims to determine relation between house condition with the density of housefly. Results: The results showed that there was no significant relation between house criteria with housefly density inside house with p-value 0.659 (OR 0.7; 95% CI: 0.136 to 3.920), however there is a significant relation between house criteria with housefly density outside house, house with unhealthy house criteria has risk 4.2 times higher houseflies density rather than house with healthy house criteria p-value 0.011, (OR 4.273; 95% CI: 1.414 -12.909). Conclusion: Housefly control can be executed through making healthy housing and environmental.

Abstract

Background: Clinical pathway (CP) is a collaborative guidance for patients treatments that focused on diagnosis, clinical problems, and stages of care. CP implementation becomes a guideline on hospital quality and safety improvement for the patient services. Method: The research used a descriptive-qualitative mixed methods. Primary data collected through medical record and secondary data is done by interview and observation by using CP format. Results: From medical records total, 23 cases were found that met the inclusion criteria. The acute appendicitis case in adults is more than children in number (3,6:1). Acute appendicitis CP compliance is 86%. There are three problems in CP compliance of acute appendicitis i.e doctors visit adherence (physician in charge of patient 87%, 0% anesthesia), 65% adherence therapy compliance, and 52% inpatient admission. The root of the problem is the lack of socialization, monitoring, and evaluation of established standards. Some activity variations may occur during each process from time to time that will produce a variety of the outcomes as well. How to reduce process variation is to standardize. The process of standardization includes the preparation, socialization, monitoring, control, evaluation and revision of thew standards. CP profit is that it could reduce variation, is a professional requirement, and the basis for quality measurement. Implementation of good standards will ensure the safety of patients and the healthcare providers. Conclusion: Almost all employees have conducted medical record (MR) in accordance with clinical pathway criteria as well, but the CP sheet is not included in the MR

Abstract

Background: Breast cancer is the second highest-rate incidence after cervical cancer. Moreover, the breast cancer epidemic is getting increasing over years. The aim of this research was to know the strength correlation between knowledge and delay in seeking treatment among breast cancer patients at General Hospital Center Dr. M. Djamil Padang. Method: This was a case control study. Respondents of the research were patients of breast cancer and had been registered at General Hospital Center Dr. M. Djamil Padang in July-December 2013. 122 of the total sample divided  61 cases and 61 controls were collected. Results: This research showed level of knowledge of controlled women had 1.86 times the odds of delay in seeking treatment of breast cancer. (OR=1.86, 95% CI 0.68 to 5.089). Therefore, having higher awareness in breast cancer is driven women  to early detection and screening methods by conducting an intensive counseling. Conclussion: Women had lower knowledge of breast cancer treatment this analysis suggests that women need further information about the different types of breast cancer symptoms to assist symptom recognition

All of the samples were measured the level of knowledge of DM through pretest and posted. Measuring glucose levels were also performed on 80 Bromonilan using rapid tests. Result: The prevalence of Bromonilan affected by DM was 10%. The level knowledge of DM increased 39.3% by intervention test. Conclusion: The prevalence of DM in Bromonilan was quite high. Integrated health services in community serve simultaneously to improve their knowledge such DM.

Abstract

Background: South Sulawesi Province is one of provinces in Indonesia with the highest prevalence of severe malnutrition (6.6%) and the highest prevalence was found in Makassar City (3.66%), especially in Kaluku Bodoa Village (3.23%). The aim of this study is to identify risk factor of severe malnutrition on children under five years old in Kaluku Bodoa Village Makassar. Method: This research used case control study design. Case was a child with weight for age Z-scores <-3SD (severe malnutrition) and control was a child with weight for age Z-scores ≥-3 SD these are from the median of WHO reference. Total sample 135 children with 45 cases and 90 controls were recruited. Data were gathered from face to face interviews with mothers of children. Analyses 2x2 table were conducted in this research that produced odd ratio (OR) with 95% confidence interval. Results: Among the cases, a larger proportion of them was female (57.8%) and their age between 25-36 month (42.2%). After adjusting all confounders, childhood severe malnutrition was significantly associated with low economic status (OR=9.514; CI95%=1.219-74.230), infection diseases (OR=5.744; CI95%=2.615-12.613), preterm delivery (OR=3.613; CI95%=1.452-8.987), low birth weight (OR=2.957; CI95%=1.387-6.302) and exclusive breastfeeding (OR=3.537; CI95%=1.481-8.446). Usage health care facilities (posyandu) were not associated with severe malnutrition. Conclusion: Low economic status, preterm delivery, infection diseases, low birth weight, and exclusive breastfeeding are risk factor toward severe malnutriton of children under five years old in Makassar City. Usage health care facilities was not associated with severe malnutrition of children in Makassar City
