Abstract

Approximately 15.5 million adolescents experience mental health problems, yet only 2.6% seek professional help. Without appropriate intervention, these difficulties may progress into more severe disorders, making help-seeking behavior critical for ensuring timely support. Youth Integrated Health Posts (Posyandu Remaja) serve as community-based platforms that promote adolescent health, including programs aimed at improving mental health literacy. However, low help-seeking behavior among youth attending these centers remains a persistent concern. This study aimed to examine the association between mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior among adolescents enrolled in Posyandu Remaja in Surakarta. Using purposive sampling, 114 adolescents participated in the study. Data were collected using adapted questionnaire-based scales assessing help-seeking behavior (α = 0.801) and mental health literacy (α = 0.528). Analysis was conducted using chi-square correlation tests in SPSS 25. The results indicated no statistically significant association between mental health literacy and help-seeking behavior among the participants, χ² = 0.631 (N = 114, p = 0.427). These findings suggest that improving mental health literacy alone may be insufficient to increase help-seeking tendencies among adolescents. Health service providers are encouraged to develop more comprehensive strategies beyond literacy-enhancing interventions. Future research may consider larger sample sizes, refined measurement tools, and the exploration of additional factors that may influence help-seeking behavior among youth in similar community settings.

Abstract

Posttraumatic Growth (PTG) has long been viewed as an individual psychological process shaped by cognitive and emotional struggle after trauma. However, recent scholarship highlights the importance of social, communal, and cultural factors that remain underrepresented in earlier reviews. This study follows a narrative review methodology with purposive sampling that synthesizes peer-reviewed studies published between 2020 and 2025 to examine how PTG theory has expanded beyond individual transformation. A structured search across major databases resulted in 20 studies meeting purposive inclusion criteria. Findings reveal two converging trends: the persistence of individual-centric PTG models and the growing recognition of collective and cultural pathways, such as social support, shared rituals, and culturally grounded meaning-making. Integrating these strands, this review proposes a multilayered ecological model positioning individual, relational, collective, and cultural dimensions of PTG. The review underscores the need for culturally sensitive PTG frameworks and community-based interventions, offering a more inclusive theoretical foundation for understanding trauma recovery.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between workplace spirituality and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) among healthcare professionals in Christian faith-based hospitals. A quantitative research design was employed using a total sampling technique involving 113 full-time employees. The workplace spirituality scale was developed based on Milliman’s conceptualization, encompassing three dimensions meaningful work, sense of community, and alignment with organizational values (α = 0.956). The OCB scale was constructed following Organ’s framework, consisting of five dimensions: altruism, conscientiousness, sportsmanship, courtesy, and civic virtue (α = 0.940). Pearson correlation analysis revealed a very strong and significant relationship between workplace spirituality and OCB (r = 0.961; p < 0.001). These findings indicate that workplace spirituality plays a critical role in enhancing organizational citizenship behavior among healthcare professionals.

Abstract

Recent shifts in romantic relationship dynamics among emerging adults have contributed to the increasing prevalence of diverse relationship forms,  including dating relationships and friends with benefits (FWB). Examining how these relationship structures relate to relationship satisfaction is essential for understanding contemporary romantic experiences. This study aimed to compare levels of relationship satisfaction between individuals engaged in dating relationships and those involved in FWB relationships. Employing a quantitative comparative design with a non-equivalent group approach,  data were collected from 136 emerging adults aged 20-25 years through an online survey utilizing the Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) developed by Hendrick. Participants were recruited using purposive sampling,  and group differences were examined using an independent samples t-test. The results revealed a significant difference in relationship satisfaction,  with individuals in dating relationships reporting higher satisfaction levels than those in FWB relationships (p < .05). These findings highlight the critical role of emotional intimacy and commitment in fostering satisfying romantic relationships. The study contributes theoretically by extending the understanding of non-traditional relationship dynamics within the Indonesian cultural context and offers practical implications for counselors,  sex educators,  and developmental psychologists in supporting emerging adults’ navigation of romantic relationships.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the correlational relationship between work stress and self-undermining behavior on perceived social support among Indonesian seafarers. The sample consisted of 185 seafarers working on domestic and international shipping routes. Data were collected using standardized questionnaires, including the Work Stress Scale, Self-Undermining Behavior Scale, and the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS). Analyses were conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality, Spearman correlation, and multiple linear regression. Results indicated that work stress (r = -0.177, p = 0.016) and self-undermining behavior (r = -0.176, p = 0.017) were significantly negatively correlated with social support, suggesting that higher work stress or self-undermining behavior is associated with lower perceived social support. However, multiple regression analysis revealed that these variables simultaneously did not significantly predict social support (R² = 0.004, p = 0.703), indicating that other factors contribute more substantially to seafarers’ perceptions of social support. These findings highlight the need for organizational interventions to strengthen social support systems in seafarers’ work environments and offer theoretical implications for understanding the dynamics of work stress and self-undermining behavior in maritime work contexts.

Abstract

Excessive fear of marital commitment, known as gamophobia, among adult career women has received limited scholarly attention, particularly within psychosocial and religiosity frameworks. This study investigated the effects of family support and religiosity on gamophobia among career women aged 33 years and older. A quantitative correlational approach was applied using multiple regression analysis. The study involved 47 career women recruited through purposive sampling. Data were gathered using standardized Likert type instruments and analyzed with SPSS version 26. The findings revealed that family support (β = –0.420, p < .001) and religiosity (β = –0.495, p < .001) were significant negative predictors of gamophobia, with the model explaining 52% of the variance (R² = 0.52). These results highlight the complementary roles of social support in fostering emotional regulation and religiosity in providing existential meaning, both of which contribute to reducing fear related to marital commitment. From a practical perspective, the findings suggest that intervention programs integrating family support enhancement and religiosity reinforcement may be effective in alleviating gamophobia among adult career women.

Abstract

Contraceptive decision-making is a complex process influenced by an interplay of psychological characteristics and interpersonal dynamics.  which may contribute to dissatisfaction and discontinuation among users. This study examined the effects of conscientiousness as a personality trait and dyadic communication on the quality of contraceptive decision-making among women of reproductive age. A cross-sectional study design was employed.  involving 186 married women aged 20–50 years who were current contraceptive users.  recruited through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the Big Five Personality Scale (α = 0.82).  the Dyadic Communication Scale (α = 0.89).  and the Decision-Making Scale (α = 0.87). Multiple linear regression analysis demonstrated that conscientiousness (β = 0.563.  p < 0.001) and dyadic communication (β = 0.358.  p < 0.001) were significant predictors of decision-making quality.  collectively accounting for 79.2% of the variance (R² = 0.792). In addition.  significant differences in decision-making quality were identified across age groups.  educational levels.  contraceptive methods.  and employment status. These findings underscore the importance of integrating psychological traits and partner communication into contraceptive counseling strategies to improve informed and satisfactory decision-making among women of reproductive age.
