Abstract

Several areas in Semarang City have been unable to get a clean water supply through the Local Water Company (PDAM) channel. One of the solutions that can be done to overcome this problem is by utilizing groundwater, which can be obtained by building a deep well made to obtain rock layers that can accommodate and drain groundwater (aquifer layer). To find out the approximate depth of the aquifer layer, it is necessary to conduct a preliminary investigation before drilling. There are so many methods that can be done, and one of them is by using the geoelectric method. After using the geoelectric method, we can determine the distribution of the depth of the aquifer in Semarang City by using interpolation analysis. In this study, the IDW and Kriging interpolation methods were used. The two methods were then compared to show the difference in the distribution of aquifer depths in areas that lack clean water using the two interpolation methods above. Besides that, we are using RMSE and MAPE analysis to find the error rate of the two methods. The results obtained were the RMSE of the IDW and Kriging methods amounting to 5,829 and 5,433, and the MAPE results were 10.90% and 10.34%. Based on this, the Kriging method tends to have better results when interpolating using geoelectric data. With this research, it is hoped to provide knowledge to determine the most suitable interpolation method used in determining the depth of the aquifer and also can be used as an illustration of the depth of the aquifer in the area that lacked clean water in Semarang City, so that it can be used as a reference in estimating the design of deep good development more accurately.

Abstract

This research aims to create a cluster housing monitoring system. This system combines IoT with the ESP-NOW protocol. In this system, the head of security and homeowners can unify the state of the house through a web application and an android application. The system will send notifications via the web and the LINE messaging application if there is an intrusion or gas leak or no fire is detected. The contribution of this research is to shorten the path and time of data transmission and make it easier for homeowners and heads of security to monitor and take action as soon as possible when something goes wrong in the residential area. The method used in this research is experimental. There are 4 main parts to this system, namely ESP-NOW sender, ESP-NOW receiver, gateway module, and server. All microcontrollers in this system use the NodeMCU ESP8266 because the NodeMCU, apart from being a controller, also functions as a WiFi module. By using the ESP-NOW protocol, it is possible for every microcontroller, both the sender and the receiver, to communicate without using WiFi WAP. In this study, the ESP-NOW sender collected 10 installed in each house to unify the conditions of the house. The ESP-NOW receiver worked to receive data from all senders. Any data received by the receiver will be sent to the gateway serially. The gateway module functions to send all messages to the server online. Application on the server-side built using PHP and MySQL. The display of the system can be opened through the android application or web application. The results of this test indicate that the system is running well with a 100% success proportion where every message from the sender is stored on the server-side, and the application can provide notifications according to the scenario of the system.

Abstract

The Percentage Depth Dose (PDD) and dose profile of X-Ray output from a LINAC therapy device have been modeled and analyzed. The research was conducted by simulation method through the use of Particle and Heavy Ion Transport code System (PHITS) program. The LINAC therapy device modeled in this work refers to the Siemens Primus LINAC therapy device, which is operated at 6 MV, 10 MV and 18 MV voltages. Determination of PDD was carried at a depth of 0-30 cm and dose profile at a depth of 0-20 cm in a water phantom, placed at 100 cm from the source, which is exposed to a radiation field area of 10×10 cm2. Results from the modeling of the LINAC therapy device agrees with the actual X-ray apparatus and has produced Bremsstrahlung X-ray. It was found from the analysis of the PDD curve that the maximum doses are at the depth of 1.5 cm, 2.5 cm and 3.4 cm. The value of build up factor for each LINAC voltage agrees with the reference. Additionally,  the results of the analysis of the doses profile suggest that the X-ray output has good degree of uniformity. The flatness of dose profile occurs at the depth of 20 cm with percentage value of flatness at 1.6 %, 1.9 % and 1.2 %. The flatness values are all less than 2%. The flatness values shows ≤ 2 % deviation from reference value, which is below the tolerance range required in a measurement.

Abstract

Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) is one of the popular use cases in 5G, expected to replace conventional internet service. However, investing in a telecommunications project requires massive capital, so careful planning is usually required. In general, investments are valued by the standard Net Present Value (NPV) method. When the NPV is positive, the project is profitable. However, the NPV possibly will not be as expected due to uncertainty in the future. One of these is the number of subscribers. This research proposes using Real Option (RO) to analyze the FWA project with an uncertainty of the number of subscribers and compare it to the standard NPV method. From the result of the research, the standard NPV method produces a positive Expected NPV of $153,176. However, there is a 33% possibility that the NPV will be -$406,246. By using the decision tree in RO to evaluate the project, the managers have an option to delay the project from one to three years and eliminate negative NPV resulting in the Expected NPV of $250,038, $216,842, and $188,371. Using Black Scholes Model to delay the project from one to three years also results in a higher Expected NPV of $220,668, $209,593, and $219,428.

Abstract

A service Level Agreement is an agreement between service providers and consumers that contains the rights and obligations of both parties, particularly in terms of the delivery of services provided during the subscription period on service-based computing. Once approved, normally, the Service Level Agreement will not change until the end of the subscription period. SLA violations are often positioned between yes and no. As a result, service providers must deal with severe penalties or compensation. In this paper, the use of weightage for each SLA parameter is introduced in this paper. Such quantification using weightage is the main contribution. SLA violation detection cases in service-based computing are used to demonstrate how SLA quantification works. In the simulation scenario of SLA quantification, the presence of weightage and its aggregates along with the upper and lower bound is able to help the SLA violation detection process more appropriate. Violations are no longer seen between Yes and No, but the severity of the violation can also be determined. The number of violated parameters is not very influential in determining the level because the main determinant is the weightage. At the same time, the upper and lower limits are also very helpful in determining the level of violation. It is believed that SLA quantification is the way forward for better SLA management.

Abstract

The researcher analyzed the Real-Time Clock (RTC) alarm readings on the Arduino MKR Zero, Arduino MKR Wan 1300, and Arduino MKR GSM 1400. The Arduino MKR board compared the data with the accuracy of reading the RTC values. To support this research, experimental quantitative research methods were used, and an independent sample t-test was used. The use of this method is very suitable because this method displays numbers as data and also conducts experiments directly on the Arduino MKR board. Comparative measurement of the three MKR using the RTC Alarm get the average time difference. This average indicates the IC capability and accuracy of MKR. From the experimental results, MKR GSM 1400 has the greatest. Arduino MKR GSM 1400 is the Arduino MKR that has the fastest data response among the other two Arduino MKRs. So, to create or develop a project related to real-time data transmission, it is recommended to use the Arduino MKR GSM 1400.

Abstract

Information technology (IT) is one of the strategic investments for Banks. IT can increase the efficiency and effectiveness of operational activities and strengthen their competitive position. Given that IT is an expensive investment, while its implementation contains various risks, Banks need to implement Information Technology Governance. Banks are required to implement some standards for IT governance in multiple aspects, one of which is the IT incident management aspect. IT services at the Bank are crucial because they must work optimally with zero downtime. They must ensure the management and prevention of any problems that may arise to support the sustainability of the company’s business processes. One of the frameworks that can be used for good IT service incident management is Information Technology Infrastructure Library version 3 (ITIL v3). ITIL’s incident management aims to restore disrupted IT services to their normal state and reduce the business impact. To measure the extent to which the Bank has implemented IT Incident Management Governance, the maturity level is calculated by comparing the current state (as is) and the desired shape (to be) to obtain the maturity level gap. The process of maturity level assessment is carried out using interviews and questionnaires addressed to all stakeholders involved in the entire IT incident management process. The research results show that 15 of the 42 IT incident management processes have not reached the desired state. Based on these gaps, an IT incident management governance document was designed based on the ITIL v3 framework, which is expected when implemented in the Bank’s daily operations. It will increase the availability of IT services.

Abstract

The primary component of an electric vehicle is the electric motor. In order for the motor to operate properly, some measurement and data acquisition are required for monitoring and controlling its performance. For this purpose, an embedded system is developed and attached to the vehicle. This paper presents the design and implementation of an embedded instrumentation system that includes a data acquisition device, data processor, and data display. A complete prototype-scale electric vehicle was developed and equipped with an embedded instrumentation system. A Brushless DC (BLDC) motor is employed as prime-mover taking power from a 10-Ah Battery. The input parameter is determined by the vehicle’s throttle opening, and the output variables are measured and processed. For the purpose of data acquisition, the system relies on Arduino and Raspberry Pi as processing and monitoring devices. The data and information are displayed on the vehicle dashboard to indicate the real-time vehicle performance and some related information. These include speed, power, motor temperature, distance achieved, and estimated distance that can still be reached with the remaining battery capacity. The data and information are graphically and numerically displayed, which would be useful for steering that enhances system efficiency. The system was tested in the lab and real system, where it demonstrated fine accuracy. The average deviations of the electrical data displayed in the instrumentation system with those given by the standard meter are 0.25 Volt, 0.03 Amp, and 0.43 Watt for voltage, current, and power, respectively. From a mechanical standpoint, the average deviations of speed and torque are 1.2876 km/h and 1.218*10-4 Nm, respectively. The contributions of this research are the development of a complete system to be operated in real conditions, and validation of the displayed information with standard measurement and manual calculation.

Abstract

Major disasters caused many casualties with the condition of the damaged bodies. It causes the individual identification process to be ineffective through biometric characteristics (such as lips and fingerprints). However, the palatine rugae can carry the individual identification process. Palatine rugae have unique and individual characteristics and are more resistant to trauma because of their internal location. In this study, an individual identification system is proposed to identify gender using the image of palatine rugae. The proposed system is developed by several algorithms and methods, such as Local Binary Pattern (LBP) as the feature extraction method and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) as the classification method. Based on the result of the system performed test, the proposed system can identify the gender of an individual by the combination of recognized palatine rugae patterns. The system achieved an accuracy test result of 100% with a specific configuration of LBP and KNN. The research contribution in this study is to develop the individual gender identification system, which proceeds with the palatine rugae pattern image with unique biometric characteristics as an input. The system applied several methods and algorithms, such as Geometric Active Contour (GAC) as a segmentation algorithm, Local Binary Pattern (LBP) as a feature extraction method, and K Nearest Neighbor (KNN) as a classification method.
