Abstract

Based on a preliminary study conducted in some high schools, most of the students experienced difficulties in writing their ideas in the form of short stories. This research, therefore, aimed at assisting students and teachers in producing short stories. The proposed solution is applying an instructional model based on projects. This research used quasi-experimental research method using non-equivalent control group design. This study took 60 students randomly as the sample from 385 students. The result shows that the mean of the experiment class was 91.43%, which was categorized as very good. The project-based instructional model was also effective based on a t-test calculation with its score of 7.45 >2.04.

Abstract

TThe aim of this study is to examine T the use of Indonesian by foreign speakers in Youtube video content. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with sociolinguistic approach. The data sources from this research are video creators videos on the Youtube.com networking site also known as Youtuber. The data was collected by the method of referring and ably by looking at the video of Youtuber. Youtuber selected based on customer number and audience size on each video. Data were analyzed to find code mixed form, code change, interference and language integration. The results of the study indicate that Indonesian foreign speakers are still influenced by English as well as local languages, such as Sundanese and Javanese. The use of local languages is due to the environmental influence of these Youtubers live. In addition, the emergence of regional language use is also influenced by culture. Another distinctiveness that arises is the use of taboo language by speakers either using a foreign language or regional language in the form of mentions related to sexuality.

Abstract

This study describes the application of the problem based learning (PBL) learning model as a solution to improve the skills of constructing the negotiating text of students of class X MIPA 2 Malang 7 High School. The purpose of this study is to describe the quality of the learning process in constructing negotiating texts using the problem based learning model, describing improvement in skills in constructing negotiating texts with problem based learning models, and describing changes in students' behavior after the learning process with problem based learning models. This class action research uses descriptive qualitative research design carried out in three stages, namely pre-cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The results showed that the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model was able to improve the skills of constructing the negotiating text of students of class X MIPA 2 Malang 7 High School. The ability of students to think critically when constructing text also increases. Through the problem based learning (PBL) learning model students are not taught to be wishful but directed to be able to solve their own problems through negotiations as outlined in a complete text in accordance with the structure and language of the negotiating text. Therefore, the application of the problem based learning (PBL) model was able to improve the skills of constructing the negotiation text by 7.22% in the first cycle and 14.50% in the second cycle and changing the behavior of students in a positive direction.

Abstract

Badan Pengembangan dan Pembinaan Bahasa atau Badan Bahasa melalui lamannya, www.badan.bahasa.kemdikbud.go.id menginformasikan tentang peta penyelenggara program Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA), baik di dalam negeri maupun luar negeri. Salah satu negara penyelenggara program BIPA ialah Tiongkok. Badan Bahasa hanya mencantumkan dua lembaga penyelenggara program BIPA di Tiongkok, yaitu Fakultas Bahasa Timur Universitas Peking (Kota Beijing) dan Universitas Bahasa-bahasa Asing Guangdong (Provinsi Guangdong), padahal menurut sejumlah pakar atau referensi, termasuk liputan khusus di Majalah Tempo, terdapat sembilan lembaga penyelenggara program BIPA yang tersebar di sejumlah kota/provinsi, seperti Tianjin, Shanghai, Guangxi, dan Yunnan. Kata Kunci: BIPA, Badan Bahasa, program BIPA di Tiongkok

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini (a) penyajian stiker vulgar dan (b) teknik pengkreasian stiker vulgar sebagai tindakan bermoral. Pengkreasian stiker vulgar menjadi stiker bijak yang bermuatan mendidik menjadi tanggung jawab moral si penulis stiker, guru di sekolah, dan masyarakat. Hal ini sebagai wujud tindakan bermoral yang tidak berpotensi pembiaran tetapi berpotensi penanganan yang nyata terhadap kondisi psikososial anak didik di masyarakat. Stiker digunakan anak didik SMA dan dipasang/ditempel di helm dan sepeda motor. Penelitian ini penelitian kualitatif. Kualitatif deskriptif jenis data berupa kata-kata, frasa, kalimat yang terdapat dalam stiker. Peneliti pengkreasian stiker vulgar dengan melaksanakan olah makna, baik dari aspek semantis maupuan pragmatis. Objek penelitan ini berupa kata atau ungkapan berkonotasi negatif atau vulgar yang digunakan anak didi SMA Muhammadiyah di Surakarta. Data primer berupa satuan lingual stiker vulgar dan data sekunder hasil wawancaraData Teknik observasi di SMA Muhammadiyah se-Surakarta dan wawancara dengan anak didik, kepala sekolah, wakasek bidang kesiswaan, guru bimbingan konseling, petugas parkir, dan masyarakat. Teknik dokumentasi berupa penggalian stiker yang terjual ke anak didik SMA. Keabsahan data kualitatif menggunakan teknik triangulasi yaitu triangulasi sumber. Teknik analisis menggunakan metode padan. Metode padan yang pragmatis dengan alat penentu referen yaitu berupa mitra wicara. Selain metode tersebut dignakan teknik Focus Group Descoussin (FGD). Hasil penelitian stiker yang digunakan berupa stiker tidak vulgar dan stiker vulgar. Stiker vulgar digunakan anak didi SMA Muhammadiyah se-Surakarta berpotensi mempengaruhi moral anak didik. Stiker vulgar tersebut dapat dikreasikan menjadi stiker bijak. Stiker bijak inilah yang disosialisasikan sehingga menjadi tandingan stiker vulgar. Kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, guru bimbingan konseling, dan masyarakat menjadi pihak yang terlibat dalam penyosialisasian stiker bijak (hasil pengkreasian stiker vulgar) ini.

Abstract

The study proposes marriage ceremony backdrop for their negotiations with language Minangkabau. Negotiations in this study aims to explain the culture of oral tradition in particular illocutionary speech act. This research uses a qualitative approach with methods of ethnography of communication. Illocutionary speech acts research results that found three of the five types of speech act speech act. The three types of illocutionary speech acts found in the form of speech acts assertive, directive, and expressive. Assertive speech acts found be stating a fact or truth of something. Directive speech acts found be sent (request), justifying, and asking permission to others. Expressive speech acts found be thanked.

Abstract

This article contains a discussion on the utilization of one of the archipelago text as a material for critical literacy review. Si Palalok is one of the texts of ancient texts originating from West Sumatra in Malay Arabic versions which have also been in the Latin edition. The manuscript of the story in this article is in the Arabic-Malay version found in the Aditiawarman Museum of Padang City in a still-complete physical condition, but there is a text with a lack of clarity. Much of the information contained in the texts of Si Palalok's story is still found in the reality of the people of life so that the younger generation can learn worthy values to use. The method used for text review is using content analysis techniques. The focus of the analysis of the text of the text can be obtained by using the critic literacy method. Through critical literation meth-ods, the reader is not only expected to read or understand the text but also to criticize the messages and the values of life contained therein.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the meanings of the writings on bonek t-shirts. There are characteristics and differences that occur when viewing the game Persebaya. The uniqueness is striking on the writings on the bonek t-shirts. With words that are meaningful and a love for Persebaya. The data source comes from some bonek shirts. This research uses Roland Barthes semiology theory. This study obtained data on the writings on t-shirts and banners during the Persebaya match, which is dominant from the writings that is to burn the spirit of the players and keep the big name of the team.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the human fact, collective subject, and world view contained in the Sekotengs webtoon. This webtoon is popular with 4.6 million readers. This type of research is qualitative, centered on description. The subject of this research is Lifina's  Sekotengs webtoon, while the object of this research is the author's humanity fact and worldview. The theory used is Lucien Goldmann's genetic structuralism. The results of this study indicate that in the Sekotengs Webtoon there are two types of humanity facts, namely the fact of humanity, cultural creations and the fact of humanity social activities. There are 36 data on humanity in terms of cultural creation, while 27 in humanity data on social activities. Collective subjects in the Webtoon Sekotengs are dominated by high social class, which is as much as 10 data. The main character and the side character are described as rich people. The depiction of the poor can be found through only a few patient figures. Besides this webtoon has a worldview of materialism. Lifina through Webtoon Sekotengs considers that someone who is considered handsome or beautiful and has a high social class will be more admired by others and become an idol.

Abstract

This study examines the style of repetition in Ustaz Adi Hidayat's preach (UAH) related to the socialization of the fatwa of the Indonesian Council of Religious Scholars (MUI) about performing worship during the COVID-19 outbreak. Data of this study were taken from the UAH's lecture which aired via Official Adi Hidayat Youtube account. Data analysis was carried out by transcribing the sermon, marking the information containing repetition and making analyzes. The results of this study conclude that not all forms of repetition styles are presented in UAH's preach, such as epistrophe.  The styles of repetition contained in his preach consist of (1) epizeuxis, (2) tautotes, (3) anaphora, (4) symploce, (5) mesodiplosis, (6) epanalepsis, (7) anadiplosis. Besides, the finding also reveals the existence of two repetition styles in one data, namely (1) anaphora and tautotes, (2) epizeuxis and tautotes, and (3) anaphora and mesodiplosis. The styles of repetition used by UAH aim to emphasize the key points of the MUI fatwa so that it can be easily understood by audiences. It is proven by the dominance of the epizeuxis and tautotes style found in this study. The findings of repetition style in spoken discourse will be different from that of written discourse. The repetition style in spoken is spontaneous. Preachers generally develop their style until repetition becomes their characteristic.
