Abstract

This research aimed to explain the way and culture of utterances in wedding proposal ceremony in Minangkabau. This research was qualitative research using ethnography of communication method. The findings of the research can be described as follow. First is the negotiation using turn taking in own initiative. However before the agreement was taken using own initiative, the discussion need to be done. The culture of discussion is the culture of Minangkabau society to get an agreement. It is because the decision made will give effect to other family members. Second is negotiation that always used in direct utterance in form of declarative utterance. Third is negotiation that always used in indirect utterance in form of declarative and imperative utterance. Indirect utterance was the utterance that mostly used. This is related with the culture of Minangkabau society that has intrinsic meaning.

Abstract

The study proposes marriage ceremony backdrop for their negotiations with language Minangkabau. Negotiations in this study aims to explain the culture of oral tradition in particular illocutionary speech act. This research uses a qualitative approach with methods of ethnography of communication. Illocutionary speech acts research results that found three of the five types of speech act speech act. The three types of illocutionary speech acts found in the form of speech acts assertive, directive, and expressive. Assertive speech acts found be stating a fact or truth of something. Directive speech acts found be sent (request), justifying, and asking permission to others. Expressive speech acts found be thanked.

Abstract

This study was carried out to produce a single sentence forms in the Minangkabau language acquisition in children 3-4 years of age with Syntax Overview. Forms a single sentence in the Minangkabau language acquisition in children age 3-4 year review based on declarative sentence (statement), interrogative (questions), and imperative (request). Reviews theories used in the study that is the first language acquisition, the forms of a single sentence, the acquisition of syntax in children aged 3-4 years, and Minangkabau language. This article is a review based on a qualitative approach using descriptive method. Source of data used children 3-4 years old female gender. Data in the form of speech, speech writing children aged 3-4 years which contain forms of a single sentence in the form of declarative sentences, interrogative, and imperative. Data collection techniques in this study as follows to record and observe the child who was talking to another friend, a parent, or to the researchers directly. Techniques for data analysis in this study: First, transcribing into the language of the Minangkabau language copy of the tape to the Indonesian language. Second, underline and give code discretion of the child in accordance with the forms of declarative sentences, interrogative, and imperative. Third, interpret or give meaning research results in the form of the sentence forms. Fourth, draw conclusions. Research results in the form of speech, speech delivered by Child Age 3-4 years. In this case informannya natured woman named Tika. Tika in communicating day-to-day use Minangkabau language of their parents, among friends, and the researchers themselves. Speeches delivered in the form of a single sentence in the form of declarative sentences, interrogative sentences and imperative sentences.

Abstract

Abstrak   Berdasarkan observasi awal dan hasil wawancara dengan guru bahasa Indonesia kelas XI SMA Adabiah Padang, peneliti menemukan beberapa kendala pembelajaran keterampilan membaca khususnya membaca pemahaman. Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimanakah peningkatan kemampuan menentukan simpulan bacaan dan group sequencing dalam membaca pemahaman dengan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD siswa kelas XI SMA Adabiah Padang? Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan peningkatan kemampuan menentukan simpulan bacaan dan group sequencing dalam membaca pemahaman dengan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD siswa kelas XI SMA Adabiah Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan  subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI IPS 6 SMA Adabiah Padang yang berjumlah 45 orang. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh data bahwa membaca pemahaman meliputi dua hal, yaitu 1) menentukan simpulan bacaan pada siklus 1 berada kualifikasi cukup menjadi meningkat kualifikasi baik pada siklus 2 dan kedua, 2) menentukan susunan kalimat atau group sequencing pada siklus pertama berada kualifikasi kurang menjadi meningkat kualifikasi cukup pada siklus kedua. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD membawa pengaruh yang sangat besar dalam menerapkan materi membaca pemahaman khususnya menentukan kesimpulan bacaan dan menentukan susunan kalimat atau group sequencing.  Kata Kunci: Group Sequencing, Membaca Pemahaman, dan STAD

Abstract

AbstrakDimensi moral erat kaitannya dengan dimensi watak. Setiap individu memiliki penilaian moral yang berbeda-beda. Itu pun tergantung watak dari tiap-tiap individu. Misalnya seseorang dikatakan jujur ketika dirinya mempraktikkan watak kejujurannya disetiap waktu dan tempat. Krisis moral bisa diatasi dengan pembinaan watak (karakter). Dalam lingkup sekolah, pembinaan karakter (watak) dapat diterapkan melalui kajian sastra. Artinya, sastra memiliki nilai-nilai yang berdimensi moral. Nilai-nilai moral seperti, kejujuran, pengorbanan, demokrasi santun, dan sebagainya, banyak ditemukan dalam karya-karya sastra. Baik puisi, cerita pendek, novel, maupun drama. Kajian sastra dapat dilakukan melalui memahami dan mengapresiasi unsur-unsur dalam karya sastra. Pemahaman dan penghayatan karya sastra melalui kecerdasan intelektual, emosional, dan spiritual siswa dapat dilatih dan dikembangkan. Siswa tak hanya terlatih untuk  membaca karya sastra saja mampu mencari makna dan nilai-nilai sebuah karya sastra. Diharapkan sejumlah nilai moral bisa dipahami dalam karya sastra serta diaplikasikan siswa baik di lingkungan sekolah, rumah, maupun masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Sastra, Karakter Anak Bangsa

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena tingkat kemampuan membaca siswa rendah. Salah satu diantaranya penerapan metode pembelajaran yang digunakan guru belum bervariasi. Metode pembelajaran yang sering diterapkan oleh guru yakni metode ceramah yang masih berpusat pada guru. Oleh karena itu, peneliti memberikan solusi untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca siswa khususnya kemampuan membaca pemahaman dengan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) siswa kelas XI SMA Adabiah Padang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas XI IPS 6 SMA Adabiah Padang yang berjumlah 45 orang. Data penelitian ini dengan pemberian tes objektif untuk mengukur peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa dan pemberian angket berupa respon atau tanggapan siswa terhadap pembelajaran yang akan diisi oleh para siswa pada setiap akhir siklus. Berdasarkan deskripsi dan analisis data dapat disimpulkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman meliputi pertama menentukan ide pokok paragraf pada siklus 1 berada kualifikasi baik menjadi meningkat kualifikasi baik sekali pada siklus 2 dan kedua, melengkapi paragraf pada siklus 1 berada kualifikasi cukup menjadi meningkat baik pada siklus 2. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) membawa pengaruh yang sangat besar dalam menerapkan materi membaca pemahaman khususnya menentukan ide pokok dan melengkapi paragraf.Kata Kunci: Ide pokok, melengkapi paragraf, membaca pemahaman, dan Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)     MPROVEMENT OF ABILITY TO DETERMINE THE IDEA IDEAS AND COMPLETE PARAGRAPHS IN READING UNDERSTANDING USING THE TYPE OF COOPERATIVE LEARNING METHODS OF ACHIEVEMENT TEAM STUDENTS (CLASS XI SMA ADABIAH PADANG) Abstract               This research is motivated because the level of students' reading ability is low. One of them the application of teaching methods used by teachers has not varied. Teaching methods that are often applied by the teacher is a lecture method that is still centered on the teacher. Therefore, researchers provide solutions to improve students' reading ability, especially reading comprehension with cooperative learning method of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) type XI SMA Adabiah Padang. This type of research is a classroom action research with the subjects of students of class XI IPS 6 SMA Adabiah Padang, amounting to 45 people. The date of this study with the provision of objective tests to measure the improvement of students' reading comprehension and questionnaire in the form of responses or responses of students to the learning that will be filled by the students at each end of the cycle. Based on the description and analysis of the data can be concluded the ability of reading comprehension includes first determine the main idea of paragraphs in cycle 1 is well qualified to be improved qualifications both in cycle 2 and second, completing the paragraph in cycle 1 is qualified enough to be improved both in cycle 2. Thus, the use of cooperative learning method of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) has great influence in applying comprehension comprehension material especially to determine the main idea and complete the paragraph. Keywords: Key ideas, complete paragraphs, reading comprehension, and Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD)

Abstract

This study aims to explain the implementation of the maxim of quality and quantity in a conversation. Conversation can be done under any circumstances. In this study the conversations were scrutinized conversations in a commercial commercial on television. This type of research is a research based on qualitative approach using descriptive method. Source of date used speech-speech in the form of conversations that exist in commercial commercials on television. The date in this research is conversation speech which contains the maxim of quality and quantity. The results of this commercial advertisement in the form of five types of commercial advertising include Yamaha Yupiter MX version of "Valentino Rosi", Pepsodent "candidate-in-law" version, ABC soy sauce version, US Card "King dangdut" version, and soapy Lifebouy Soap version. Recapitulation of research data found contained maximization of quantity in the form of 4 date and fulfillment maxim quality 3 date. Meanwhile, the maximal violation of quantity amounted to 3 date and violation of quality invoked amounted to 4 date.

Abstract

In order to obtain a bachelor's degree, a student had to compose KTI. Before writing the complete KTI, the students needed to focus on the title of KTI. This study investigated the method used in writing KTI titles by DIII Nursing students at the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Padang. This study used a descriptive quantitative approach. This study results showed that the writing of KTI titles for students in the DIII Nursing study program was success. Based on the performance of text in writing the KTI title, students obtained very good and good qualifications. For very good qualification, the score was 80-95, and Good qualification range of 60 -75. There was several indicators used in this assessment, namely the originality and relevant titles, provocative, short, clear and specific, titles in the phrases form, using capital letters and without punctuation, and logical.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the students' writing ability in learning procedure text with the demonstration method. This research is caused by the increase in students' learning motivation with active and presentative learning methods such as demonstration learning methods. This is in line with the observations and interviews that the researcher conducted with one of the Indonesian language teachers at SMP N 2 Solok City on November 25, 2021. The purpose of this study was to explain the ability to write procedural texts using the demonstration learning method of class VII students in the second semester of the academic year. 2021/2022 SMP N 2 Solok City. This research was conducted at SMP N 2 Solok City class VII. This type of research is quantitative using descriptive research methods. The research data was obtained using a performance test, which was to determine the structure and rules/language aspects of the procedure text. Data collection techniques in this study: (1) the first activity, the teacher describes the material about the procedure text, (2) the teacher provides opportunities for students to ask questions about the procedure text, (3) the teacher arranges student seats so that students can pay close attention to the text material. the procedure that the teacher will demonstrate, (4) the teacher presents a procedure text (titled making sweet tea) which is demonstrated as an exercise, (5) the teacher presents one procedure text (the title of turning off the computer (laptop) correctly) with different demonstrations for collecting data, and (6) students pay attention and write down what they see when the teacher demonstrates a procedure text. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the ability to write procedural texts with the demonstration method of students based on the structure of the procedure text was 79.35 with good qualifications and linguistic rules was 74.4 with more than adequate qualifications. Based on the results of the research described in chapter IV, it can be concluded that the ability to write procedural texts with the demonstration method of class VII students of SMP N 2 Kota Solok in the academic year 2021/2022 is 76.40 with good qualifications (B).
