Abstract

Hasil belajar mata kuliah optik selama semester gasal 2005/2006 kurang menunjukkan capaian yang maksimal, mahasiswa masihkurang menunjukkan sikap aktif dan mandiri dalam belajar. Sejumlah temuan mengindikasikan bahwa mahasiswa malas mengerjakantugas dan tidak mempersiapkan diri menghadapi perkuliahan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi tersebut peneliti berupaya untukmeningkatkan mutu pembelajaran agar dapat menumbuhkan kemauan mahasiswa untuk belajar mandiri dan aktif di kelassehingga dapat meningkatkan capaian hasil belajar mata kuliah optik. Model pembelajaran Self Regulated Learning paling sesuaiuntuk menyelesaikan permasalahan ini karena model ini memberi kesempatan mahasiswa untuk mengeksplorasi diri danmengarahkan ma-hasiswa untuk belajar secara mandiri. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kebebasan memilihteman dalam kelompok dan memilih pola belajar sesuai dengan minatnya ternyata memberi kenyamanan belajar dan motivasiberkompetisi yang positif sehingga capaian belajarnya lebih baik. Learning achievement of optics subject during odd semester of 2005/2006 showed that student's achievement was not maximal.The students were inactive and did not have self learning attitude. Several findings indicated that the students were lazy in doing theassignment and did not have preparation in facing the lesson. Based on the above evaluation, the researchers have an effort toincrease the quality of the lesson in order to grow student's will to be active and have self learning attitude, which in turn canincrease their achievement on optics subject. Self Regulated Learning model is the most suitable model to be applied for solving theproblem. It is because this model gives students a chance to explore and direct themselves to be able to have self learning attitude.The result shows that the opportunity to choose friend in a group and learning pattern suitable with the student's interest givestudents enjoyable learning and motivation to compete positively leading to get better achievement.

Abstract

The purpose of this study to determine the effect of the use of inquiry-based learning to the increased dimensions of procedural knowledge in electrical magnetic material. The study used a quasi-experimental research methods with research design is non-equivalent control group design and a sampel are selected with the random sampling method. The experimental group was taught by the method of inquiry-based learning and the control group was taught by conventional methods. Collecting data using the instrument of multiple-choice test that developed through this research with category of validity is valid, reliability with category of reliable, index of discrimination with category of low, and level of difficulty with category of medium. The results of the data analysis by using the formula N-Gain and t-test showed that an increase in the dimensions of procedural knowledge siginificantly for experimental class and less significant for control class. Based on the results of this study suggested to the teacher to always use the method of inquiry learning that an increase in procedural knowledge dimension, especially for topics related to experimental physics.

Abstract

Penelitian ini ditujukan untuk mengungkap pengaruh pembelajaran model penemuan terbimbing dengan strategi self-explanation terhadap peningkatan prestasi belajar fisika zat padat mahasiswa pada bahasan struktur kristal dan dinamika kisi kristal. Penelitian ini menggunakan disain kuasi eksperimen rancangan Pre- and Posttest Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran model penemuan terbimbing dengan strategi self-explanation mampu meningkatkan prestasi belajar mahasiswa, yang ditandai oleh gain score ternormalisasi rata-rata kelas eksperimen 0,467 (kategori medium) lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol 0,385 (kategori medium); dan mahasiswa kelas model penemuan terbimbing dengan strategi self-explanation memiliki pencapaian prestasi belajar lebih tinggi secara signifikan daripada kelas model STAD dengan strategi self-explanation. Penelitian menghasilkan effect size 0,47 kategori “biasa”. Tetapi, mahasiswa kelas eksperimen memberikan respon positif terhadap proses pembelajaran lebih rendah daripada kelas kontrol.This study is aimed to reveal the influence of the guided discovery model with self-explanation learning strategy toward improvement of students’ achievement on solid state physics of the crystal and dynamic of lattice structures. The study uses quasi-experimental with Pre- and Posttest Design. The result shows that the guided discovery model with self-explanation learning strategy can improve students’ achievement.  Experiment class attaines the normalized everage gain score of 0.467 (medium category), while control class attaines the normalized everage gain score of 0.385 (medium category). Experiment class students have higher achievement significantly than control class. This research has effect size 0.47 in typical category. However, experiment class students give lower positive response than control class for learning process.

Abstract

Students of Physic Education of Universitas Negeri Semarang often find some difficulties to understand the material. During difficult times, students usually find references on the internet,ask a friend who already understand, or ask a senior friend. Mostly students have a device that can be used to access the internet. Online-course via discussion-forum can be used as a discussion facility when they find difficulties to understand. Online-course via discussion-forum developed with ADDIE development models that includes the stages of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Online-course discussion forum contains the list of courses that can be accessed by students via internet through the website discussion.belajarfisika.web.id. Feasibility of online course discussion forum was measured through assessment sheets of feasibility test from validators and questionnaire responses from students. The results of the feasibility test from the validator and student responses indicate that criteria are eligible. Results of the questionnaire about students' perceptions of learning through online course discussion forum show that Physic Education Students of Universitas Negeri Semarang have good perceptions of learning through online-course via discussion-forums.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui capaian level berpikir reflektif mahasiswa yang menempuh program remidial perkuliahan Fisika Matematika 1(Fismat 1) berbasis Cognitive Apprenticeship Instruction (CAI). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendahuluan dari serangkaian penelitian mixed method dengan desain embedded experimental yang melibatkan 6 orang mahasiswa dan diamati dalam empat tatap muka. Perkuliahan berbasis CAI ini menggunakan sintaks perkuliahan yang terdiri atas tahapan modeling, coaching, articulation, reflection, dan exploration. Pada akhir penelitian mahasiswa diberi tes keterampilan berpikir reflektif, diminta mengisi angket, dan diwawancarai. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dan ditriangulasi dari hasil analisis observasi, angket, dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian ini menginformasikan bahwa perkuliahan Fismat 1 berbasis CAI membantu mahasiswa yang mengikuti remidial sehingga mampu berpikir reflektif pada level kedua dari empat level berpikir reflektif, yaitu understanding. Beberapa kriteria berpikir reflektif masih belum dicapai mahasiswa secara optimal. Oleh karena itu perlu strategi yang lebih efektif dalam setiap tahapan CAI untuk meningkatkan level berpikir reflektif mahasiswa.ABSTRACTThis research is a mixed method research design which aimed to determine the students’ reflective thinking level after they experienced cognitive apprenticeship instruction (CAI) based learning program in the Mathematical Physics 1. Syntaxes of CAI program are modeling, coaching, articulation, reflection, and exploration. The data was collected from six remedial students’ performances of reflective thinking skill test and was analyzed using qualitative approach by triangulating it with observation and questionnaire, as well as interview results. The data analysis showed that the remedial students’ level was on the second phase of reflective thinking skill, namely understanding level. Several criterias of reflective thinking skill were still poor achieved by the students. Therefore, the more effective strategies applied in every syntax of CAI are required in order to improve the students’ level of reflective thinking.

Abstract

Telah dilakukan modifikasi sistem penangkap gambar kedap cahaya yang dapat menampilkan langsung citra radiograf digital pada layar monitor PC dan menyimpan file radiograf tersebut sehingga bisa ditampilkan kembali. Penelitian ini bertujuan membangun model prototip sistem penangkap gambar berbasis kamera digital, sehingga hasilnya bisa diproses lebih lanjut menggunakan perangkat lunak pengolah citra berbasis Matlab. Hasil pemotretan dengan sinar-X pada benda uji dan volunteer digunakan untuk menguji keajegan hasil radiograf tersebut, dan diperoleh perbaikan kontras yang signifikan, ditunjukkan dengan tampilan histogram, nilai MSE dan PSNR yang sesuai. Aplikasi perangkat lunak tersebut dalam menganalisis radiograf benda uji, kaki, tangan serta stepwedge menunjukkan juga kenaikan ukuran file, kontras radiograf dan resolusi citra yang meningkat. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa model penangkap gambar yang dilengkapi dengan perangkat lunak berbasis Matlab dapat dikembangkan untuk pemeriksaan radiografi digital yang efektif, efisien dan mempunyai nilai ekonomi yang tinggi. It has been modified a system of light-tight image capturing which can display directly digital radiograph image on the monitor screen of PC and save that radiograph digital image for re-displaying it. This research aims to build a prototype of digital camera based-image capturing, so that the result can be processed further using a mathlab based-image processing software. The imaging process using X-ray on the test materials and volunteers are used to investigate its image consistency and find more contrast image, shown on the histogram, appropriate MSE and PSNR values. The application of this software for analyzing test materials, feet, hands and stepwdge showed the file size increase, radiograph constrast, and image resolution. This result shows that a model of image capturing completed by software based-mathlab can be developed to check an effective, efficient and has an economic value digital radiography test result.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini telah dikembangkan multimedia interaktif pada konsep kalor. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh multimedia interaktif dan gaya belajar terhadap penguasaan konsep kalor siswa. Penelitian dilaksanakan dalam tiga tahapan, yaitu studi pendahuluan, pengembangan desain, dan pengujian model. Pada tahap pengujian model digunakan metode kuasi eksperimen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan ANAVA dengan dua faktor, yaitu model pembelajaran dan gaya belajar. Gaya belajar siswa dibagi menjadi empat kategori berdasarkan model VARK Fleming, yaitu Visual, Auditori, Read, dan Kinestetik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata penguasaan konsep siswa yang belajar menggunaan multimedia interaktif lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang belajar tanpa multimedia. Penguasaan konsep kalor siswa juga dipengaruhi oleh gaya belajar, dimana siswa dengan gaya belajar visual memiliki penguasaan konsep yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa dengan gaya belajar lainnya.In this research, we have developed interactive multimedia on heat concepts. This research aimed to analyze the effect of interactive multimedia and learning styles towards students’ understanding on heat concepts. The research was conducted in three stages: a preliminary study, development, and testing of models. Testing phase of the model used a quasi-experimental method. Data were analyzed using ANOVA with two factors, namely learning models and learning styles. Students' learning styles were divided into four categories based on the model VARK Fleming; Visual, Auditory, Read, and Kinesthetic. The results showed that the average of students’ understanding who learned using interactive multimedia was still higher than students who learned without interactive multimedia. Students’ understanding on heat concepts were affected by learning styles, in which students with visual learning styles had higher understanding on heat concepts that students with any other learning styles.

Abstract

This study aims to produce teaching materials based on inquiry physics to improve the critical thinking skills of high school students. This type of research is Research and Development and refers to the 4-D development model. This study was tested in class X. The results of this study obtained some findings include: 1) the validation of teaching materials obtained categories are very valid and reliable; 2) test legibility of physics teaching materials categorized high readability; and 3) N-gain improves students' critical thinking skills. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry-based physics teaching materials worthy of use in learning and can improve the critical thinking skills of high school students.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendapatkan gambaran pembelajaran real laboratory dan tugas mandiri fisika pada siswa SMK. Paket real laboratory konsep gelombang bunyi dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi fenomena bunyi yang belum mampu dipraktikumkan menggunakan KIT mekanika. Prosedur penelitian terdiri dari persiapan dan pelaksanaan. Pada tahap persiapan dilakukan analisis konsep gelombang bunyi dan penyusunan instrumen penelitian. Pada tahap pelaksanaan diterapkan pembelajaran real laboratory dan tugas mandiri fisika pada siswa SMK, selanjutnya dilakukan analisis data hasil penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa keterampilan kinerja dan keaktifan siswa yang mendapatkan pembelajaran real laboratory dengan tugas mandiri lebih baik dibandingkan dengan hasil tes kinerja siswa yang hanya mendapatkan pembelajaran real laboratory. The purpose of this work is to get an idea of the real learning physics laboratory and self-regulated assignment of vocational students. A real laboratory package of sound wave concept was done to identify the sound phenomena that have not been able to be practiced using mechanics apparaturs sets. The procedure of this work consists of the preparation and execution, where in the preparatory phase it was done an analysis of sound wave concept and preparation of research instruments. The implementation was done using real laboratory learning and self-regulated assignment of physics subject on vocational students, further the analysis of the research data was also done. The result showed that the performance and activity of students getting a real laboratory learning with self-regulated assignment are better than that of students only getting real laboratory learning.

Abstract

This study aimed to find the structure of the theoretical model that can illustrate the achievements of Indonesian students in the field of physics. This study also examines the variables that directly or indirectly influence the physics achievement of Indonesian students. The data in this study are data of TIMSS 2011 on physics test with population involved were 4572 Indonesian students grade 8. This research used path analysis from LISREL 8.30. The physics achievement model of Indonesian students based on TIMSS 2011 results are as follows: (1) physics achievement is directly influenced by self-confidence, interest in learning, and students 'attitudes toward the importance of physics; (2) physics achievement indirectly influenced by students' involvement in physics learning indicated from their interest and confidence in physics learning; (3) attitudes toward the importance of physics have an indirectly positive impact on physics achievement. Students' self-confidence in physics learning has a stronger direct influence on their achievements than their interest in physics.
