Abstract

Kota Pekanbaru merupakan Ibukota Provinsi Riau yang memiliki potensi di sektor pariwisata yang cukup besar. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji bagaimana potensi Kota Pekanbaru dilihat dari sektor wisata dalam mendukung pembentukan city branding? Upaya apa saja yang telah dilakukan pemerintah dalam mengoptimalkan potensi wisata tersebut, serta bagaimana strategi yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengoptimalkan potensi wisata tersebut dalam mendukung pembentukan city branding Kota Pekanbaru? Penelitin ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Data didapatkan melalui hasil wawancara, studi dokumentasi dan observasi. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa strategi branding Kota Pekanbaru mengacu pada kerangka kerja branding kota oleh Kavartiz (2004). Strategi tersebut ialah mengkaji ulang mengenai visi dan strategi yang berhubungan dengan branding kota sebagai pintu gerbang budaya Melayu, dan melakukan sinergi antar stakeholders agar tercipta kerja sama yang baik. Selain itu, branding juga melibatkan warga lokal, pengusaha, dan pebisnis dalam mengembangkan dan mengantarkan brand. Selain itu, perlu pembentukan ruang publik yang mewakili branding Kota Pekanbaru sebagai pintu gerbang budaya Melayu seperti pembentukan taman terbuka untuk aktivitas kebudayaan.

Abstract

Sinar Harian has new comer daily newspaper in Selangor, and positioned as an independent newspapers. So, this media use marketing communication concepts in order to accepted by communities in their audience in Malaysia. The whole factor are become from their integrated marketing communication strategy (IMC), that have five indicators included advertising, personal selling, direct marketing, public relations and sales promotions as a promotional mix. Besides IMC strategy, Sinar Harian also make an IMC steps to high up their ranking at Malaysia newspaper industries. IMC steps have four indicators and it is identify market target, make SWOT analized, make a marketing communication goals and strategy with tactics arrangement After the research, researchers got the truth that Sinar Harian are threaten a promotional mix indicators like advertising, personal selling, direct marketing, public relations and sales promotion to get their profits and sold up the newspaper. Then the IMC steps are made for Sinar Harian make a strategy based on SWOT analyzed and the whole IMC steps indicators for their positioning at Malaysia newspapers industries.

Abstract

The victory of Slumdog Millionaire by winning 8 out of 10 nominations in Oscar 2009 is not only a recognition to Anil Kapoor, Dev Patel and Frieda Pinto's wonderful acting but also a proof that Bollywood movies can compete with Hollywood's. Through this glorious moment, the world's eyes are on to Bollywood, a movie industry which produces more than 8oo movies per year. This is such an amazing achievement above all the poverty and political issues that have been major problems in this second most-populated country in the world.

Abstract

TVRI still faces an identity crisis between representing the public interest with the interests of power. The influence of power remains strong even though TVRI has been established as public service broadcasting since 2002. This article tries to analyze the political and structural issues that interfere the transformation of TVRI as public service broadcasting. Various conflicts of interest, especially from the government and parliament eventually obstruct TVRI to act as a public broadcaster in the real sense.

Abstract

This article describes the role of the media to support the eradication of corruption in Indonesia, which is displayed in the form of editorial policy of the media in constructing social reality of corruption cases. Two patterns of reconstruction of social reality as a basis editorial policy, which consists of the reconstruction as rewriting and reconstruction as the actualization of the cultural ideology of journalism by working with certain strategies such as news or reconstructing interpretative facts accompanied by a media crew assessment. Its meaning is, the product should be aligned reconstruction of social reality and is able to transform the values of an anti-corruption into public space. The problem is when the national media or local media that makes governments and institutions that have economic and political power as a strategic partner, the media tend to be politically conservative attitudes or rewriting only in constructing a case of corruption by reason of maintaining objectivity the role of the media. That attitude can be used as an indication that the media in a crisis situation in favor of eradication of corruption.

Abstract

Soap opera or Electronic cinema, commonly abbreviated as sinetron, is a program which takes most portions and public interests among other television programs. A great number of spectators generate the number of its influences on society because sinetron has become one of television programs that catches public attention and is broadcasted in most hours of prime time. One of the sinetron genres is that is considered Islamic sinetron as it consists of Islamic symbols. However, it uses dialogues that do not represent Islamic values in that it consists of derogatory words expressing verbal abuse. This study aims at uncovering verbal abuse tendency of the soap opera in Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series aired by RCTI (Episode 296 – 407). The problem formulation is how are the tendencies of verbal abuses in the soap opera Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series aired by RCTI (Episode 296–407)? The objective of this research is to investigate verbal abuse in the soap opera Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series aired by RCTI (Episode 296–407). Theory and concept of the study are mass communication, mass media, television, verbal abuse. The concept of verbal abuse used in the study is in accordance to Indonesia Broadcasting Commission (KPI) Number 02/P/KPI/03/2012 about Standard of Broadcasting Programs 2012 and types of verbal abuse. Based on the data collection and analysis, it can be concluded that verbal abuses likely used in the soap opera Tukang Bubur Naik Haji The Series aired by RCTI (episode 296 – 407) are in the category of derogatory, threatening and insulting.

Abstract

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in Indonesia has been stated in constitution (UUD1945), some acts, and special regulations. Those are indicated that the implementation of CSR as a responsibility to local community is important Nevertheless, its implementation is still various. Black category is for company does not have CSR program, red category is for company holding CSR program within pressure, blue category is for company seeing CSR as investment, and green category is for company has noticed that CSR is its business heart As many as CSR arrangements, it is shown government intention to actualize Zakat, Infaq, and Shadaqah (ZIS) as a Moslem giving obligation to powerless other Moslem. To encourage company in implementing CSR appropriately, government shall control and sentence punishment to any company who does not implement it

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi informasi membawa jurnalisme berkembang jauh lebih pesat. Cara menyampaikan pesan melalui media pun berubah, tidak lagi monoplatform tetapi multiplatform yang mengintegrasikan tulisan, audio, dan video. Jurnalisme online yang ditopang oleh internet menuntut wartawan untuk bisa menulis, memotret, membuat berita video, bahkan berinteraksi lebih jauh dengan audiens. Seorang wartawan mesti bisa melakukan berbagai kerja tersebut sekaligus dalam satu waktu peliputan. Mereka juga harus paham karakter audiens yang akan mengonsumsi produk jumalistiknya. Penyajian melalui berbagai platform memudahkan persebaran dan memperluas keterbacaan. Meski perkembangan teknologi masih menyisakan perdebatan terkait etika dan nilai jurnalistik, tetapi praktik multimedia terus berkembang. Tak bisa dipungkiri, wartawan multimedia menemukan tantangan seperti pengelolaan waktu, keterbatasan alat, dan adaptasi dengan lingkungan sekitar. Terlebih, pakar mengkritik karaketer media online yang mengedepankan kecepatan berita. Alhasil, menjadi penting bagi wartawan multimedia untuk tetap berpedoman pada etika jurnalistik yang menekankan pada verifikasi dan akurasi berita. .Dengan melakukan studi pustaka dan wawancara mendalam kepada wartawan-wartawan di tiga media yaitu cnnindonesia.com, rappler.com, dan tribunnews.com, artikel ini berusaha mengelaborasi implementasi multimedia dalam perkembangan jurnalisme online di Indonesia dan bagaimana dampaknya terhadap perubahan yang teijadi di ruang redaksi dan cara kerja wartawan di lapangan. Dari penelitian ini ditemukan fakta empat wartawan telah menerapkan prinsip multimedia dengan menghasilkan setidaknya dua jenis produk jurnalistik berupa teks dan video saat liputan
