This study aims to analyze the implementation of Joko Widodo`s policy of Kartu Jakarta Sehat (KJS) and Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) programs. This research is to show the opinion from poor people of Jakarta related with KJS and KJP implementation based on the perspective of development communication. This research method is descriptive qualitative. Collection of primary data obtained through in depth interviews of the poor public in Jakarta related KJS and KJP programs. Meanwhile, collection of secondary data obtained through documentation of the various media and library research. The conclusion of this research explains Jokowi`s poverty alleviation policies has not fully implementation.

This article discusses the phenomenon of interaction on Facebook. This study used a subjective approach with a qualitative research method through the analysis of the phenomenology and symbolic interaction. The study was conducted to determine the essential meaning of symbolic interaction that occurs in the world of Facebook. Through in-depth interviews of 10 people found that Facebook users are interchangeable symbols emoticons users to interact on Facebook has a contextual meaning. At different users’ of a symbol can have different meanings so the meaning is no longer unconventional, but personal. This is caused by the user freedom in using or producing personal emoticon symbols as an expression of nonverbal cues. Essentially, the interaction on Facebook is the visual interaction. Through visual, users’ can display a variety of actions on Facebook including symbolic impression management. Impression management on Facebook is heavily influenced intentional relationship between physical self as a subject in the real world and themselves become symbolic objects in the virtual world. This relationship is illustrated by a model of interaction and symbolic impression management model in the virtual world of Facebook.

The political economy of information, as a reference for a communication scientific field, is widely used as a generic term for the political and economic investigation of media discourse. As media construction, an information frequently represent political and economical interests. Critical discourse analysis (CDA) become one important model to analyze relationship between reality, ideology in power relations in media. Interdisciplinary combination of linguistic theory, critical theory and political economics thought used to analyze how political or economical interests play in media appearance.

Profession and field of Public Relations (PR) in Indonesia are still on communication technician level. PR has not been put on strategic management function. PR roles in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities are still often be positioned within communication division. PR still does its traditional function as a media agent. PR shall be involved within every stage of CSR program, either research, planning, communicating, or evaluating stage.

Korean Wave (music, movie, and drama), recently, accept a lot of attention from Indonesian teenagers. Thanks to the power of mass media, Korean music, or we called it KPop, beginning to spread it virus throughout the world by the emerging of Fandom. Super Junior as one of the pioneer of Korean boy band become the group that has the largest fan club in the world named ELF. This research examines the private media consumption behavior by ELF Jogja and the interaction between its members in organic and virtual community. Ethnographic became the main method by using participant observation, indepth interview, and focus group discussion with snow ball technique. The finding are (1) the private media consumption behavior of fans showed that the fans had "hyperconsumerist" sensibility and (2) when fans already jump to virtual communities, they will have different communication pattern like they ever had in organic community before.

The development of communication technology has penetrated the lives of human beings. One form of communication is the development of new media technologies who gave birth to social media. Political world is also not free from the influence of new media and social media. Social media are like two sides of a coin for political actors. On the one hand, the success by using social media is getting positive support. But on the other hand failure by using social media is the risk by damaging the image.This paper discusses the challenges and opportunities of social media on political actors. Exposure to the use of social media in political communication becomes the first part of this paper. The second section discusses the challenges faced by political actors in the 2.0 era. The third section gives an offer opportunity for political actors in the utilization of social media. There is also the fourth and final section is a conclusion that contains what should be done by political actors to minimize the risks and maximize the opportunities offered by social media.

As social institution, national press should serve pubic interest by meeting the people’s right to know in the form of news which concerns the lives of the people. In addition to that, press is also required to serve public to spare its pace and time for people to express their voices and grievances regarding public issues. Due to its interactivity and hyper-local journalism, radio can perform this well. Talkback radio broadcasts containing interaction between the host broadcaster with the listener expressing their concerns and information on public issues have been able to encourage the process of local democratization. As such “Citra Publika" has been able to encourage citizens not only to exercise social control and take part in debating public concerns but also ask them to give solution the public problems. The research which used a qualitative approach with some informants form Citra FM radio has found that that listeners not only are asked to express their information and concerns but also are invited to provide solutions to these problems. Announcer then made every effort to contact the relevant parties to confirm the citizen complaint information. But managerial conflict within the radio has made the talkback radio unable to operate optimally. Unfortunately, to make things even worse, the conflict has led to cessation of broadcasting activities.

Journalism has its own problems: declining of revenue from circulations and advertisement; lacking of reading-less audience and authority. Most media institutions seek a new strategy to keep up their business, including convergence their products, institutions, and use the communication technology to serve their audience. Unfortunately, convergence in online news is not enough to solve the problems. Media routines, multimedia skill, and other technical barriers in news productions are more problematic rather than to bring up the news on the net. This research focuses on the media frames on online news, or in other word, how online news being constructed and influenced by culture of production from the media itself. Three online media were analyzed using Teun Van Dijk's framing model and confronted with contextualized journalism as primary element of online journalism.

Public journalism or civic journalism is a movement that has taken over the last ten years in the USA. Public journalism has emerged along side a revival of interest in civil society and civic participation by improving the quality of news coverage,for example by replacing coverage of political strategy with analysis of substantive issues. In public journalism, public can participate in defining their events. According to Broadcasting Law No. 32/2002, Radio of Republic Indonesia (RRI) and Television of Republic Indonesia (TVRI) has become public broadcasting. As a public broadcasting, the use of public journalism is necessary to move government oriented news to public oriented news in both stations's newsroom. Although, there are some conceptual and technical problems in RRI and TVRI, the successful coverage of Saturday's earthquake, May 27,2006 in Yogyakarta could be a lesson that have to be leraned develop amodelofpublicjoumalisminbothinstitutions.

Social media has changes the way public relations practitioners in doing their jobs related to communicate with the public how to communicate both individually and at the corporate level. Social media become a challenge for practitioners to improve their technical and managerial abilities as a professional to deak with the development of new technology. Practitioners continue to know more about social media in order to optimize utilization and help the company to establish a better relationship with the publics.Based on in-depth interviews with public relations practitioners in Yogyakarta, it was found that practitioners are already utilizing social media in supporting the activities of public relations communication functions in the company. In this research whole practitioners has been used social media for branding activities and dissemination of information about company's marketing. In addition, most practitioners have also been utilizing social media as a medium to communicate with the publics in a two-way conversation and began to engage in it. Some of the practitioners also began to involve social media in monitoring issues and crisis communication and dissemination of information about the activities of corporate social responsibility and social campaigns that is undertaken by the company.
