Abstract

This study examined how students’ scientific writing skills changed over as they participated in the Reading Project Based Learning (RPjBL) model. This action research was conducted by Biology Teacher of Education Program Faculty of Teacher Training and Education in SebelasMaret University. The results show that the scientificwriting level increased on the last writing activities. It was suggested that RPjBL could have a positive impact on students’ scientific writing. Students who experienced the RPjBL emphasized the sentences reflecting the application and used high cognitive level sentences.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to produce a lecture model of chemical education management based on lesson study as an effort to improve chemistry teacher candidates’ professionalism. This study used a model of ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Implement-Develop-Evaluate). Based on the results of the reflection, lecturer and team can arrange the post-presentation activities (discussing material theoretically) with a variety of management practices in the field. Activities will be carried out by presenting a real problem in the field to find the solution, thus the students’ curiosity about management implementation will be fulfilled. Lecture Model of Chemical Education Management Based on Lesson Study can improve the chemistry teacher candidates’ professionalism, primarily in preparing, presenting and being responsible of their work by learning from their learning experience.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to find the impact of feedback in formative assessment in the learning process activity and students learning outcomes on learning chemistry. The method used on this study was quasi experiment research with non-equivalent control group design. The result showed that the application of feedback in formative assessment has a positive impact toward students learning process activity. Students become more enthusiastic, motivated, and more active on the learning process. Thus in this study can be conclude that feedback in formative assessment have a positive impact toward the learning process activity to form a habits of mind.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop an alternative assessment on the 2nd General Chemistry Experiment through conservation-based chemistry fair project by utilizing the daily chemical (2) Determine the level of validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research is the development (Research Development) development model applied Dick and Carey (1985). The subject of limited testing and field trials is subject lecturers and students of Science Education UNNES. Determined by purposive sample, the lecturers and the students who take the course 2nd General Chemistry Experiment. The data obtained from this trial are: (1) input from experts, to determine the content and construct validity of the assessment feature; (2) input from a limited sample testing, to determine the practicality of chemistry clue fair project (CFP) based conservation by utilizing chemical daily; Instrument data collectors in the form of a questionnaire legibility chemistry making instructions fair project (CFP) based conservation by utilizing daily chemical, scoring guidelines. (3) student learning outcomes data to determine the effectiveness of the assessment. Input from experts student questionnaire, and the value of chemistry fair project (CFP) limited test samples analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Assessment of 2nd General Chemistry Experiment alternative developed is successful well-developed assessment if valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to build creative thinking skills and creative attitude of students through a model of problem-based lectures Environmental Chemistry (PBL) Green Chemistry visionary. Mixed methods research design experimental models embedded with pretest-posttest control group were used in this study, and the differences between assumed initial end-tests as the effects of the treatment. Creative thinking skills measured by the essay tests, non test while the creative attitude is measured from the completed questionnaires consisting of positive and negative statements of markers creative attitude. Data measurement N-gain of creative thinking skills for the control and experimental group were 0.40 and 0.71, while the creative attitude were 0.08 and 0.34. Improved tests of creative thinking skills or creative attitudes were analyzed by t-test. Implementation of research findings indicate environmental chemistry lecture- problems based Green Chemistry vision can improve thinking skills and of creative student.

Abstract

Based on the pre-research activity done, learning condition at fourth grade of SDN Gisikdrono 03 were not using learning media in science subject. Thus the action is needed to improve the science learning quality by developing ladder snake game-IT based on science learning with TGT model at SDN Gisikdrono 03. The purpose of this research was to improve the students activity and students learning outcome. The design of this research is research and development study (R & D). The subjects of the research are the fourth gradersat SDN Gisikdrono 03. Expert assessment results indicate that ladder snake game-IT based deserves for test material, media and language of experts. The percentage of the component assessment of content eligibility was 94.64% (very feasible), the component assessment of the media representation was 80% (very feasible), and the component assessment of literary was 75% (feasible). The result also showed that ladder snake game-It based affects cognitive learning results proven by the presence of difference in average students’understanding through T-test was 2.007 and average increase (gain) was 0.586 (fair). Students’ activity got score of 84.49% (very good). The study can be concluded that ladder snake game-IT based on science subject with TGT model can improve students learning outcome and students activity on material in the form of energy.

Abstract

This research aims to produce training program inquiry ability and in teaching science through inquiry approach (is called Program). This study used the methods of research and development. Program design began with a training needs analysis, conducted through field studies and literature, then validated and tested on a limited basis for program design. The implemented programs that have been revised in the main try out in KKGSD Bandar Lampung, by using quasi- experimental design, pretest-posttest control group design. Subjects in this study is the number of elementary school teachers in the city of Bandar Lampung, which involved teachers from primary schools located in the centre of the town, suburb, and remote area in Bandar Lampung. The instrument used was the initial test and final test, questionnaire, assessment of product format, and the observation sheet. The results showed: (1) The inquiry ability of the teacher with PPKIMS through inquiry approach it was higher than with conventional PPKIMS; (2) The inquiry ability of the teacher to teaching with PPKIMS through inquiry approach and conventional PPKIMS after training program was different, and significant improvement towards teachers inquiry ability of PPKIMS through inquiry approach, and it was higher than the conventional PPKIMS.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to know about students’ response and the effectiveness of Teams Games Tournament learning model with Flash Card as media. This research type is Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Group Design. The subject of the study is the students of 8 E and 8 F of the 13th junior high school of Magelang. The result of cognitive assessment showed that the classical learning achievement was 87% and the gained score was 0.46 which is included in media category. Value of Sig. (2-tailed) of Mann-Whitney U-Test is 0.01. It means that there is the significant difference of academic achievement between the experiment group and the control group. The result of affective and pshycomotoric assessments are included in good category at average score 75% and 71%. Correlation among cognitive, affective, and psychomotoric learning achievements was strong at R Score 0.684. Students’ response toward the learning showed average score at 74%, and it was included in good category. Based on the result, Teams Games Tournament learning model with Flash Card as media in learning about sounds at the 13th junior high school in Magelang is effective towards the learning achievement and the responses of the 8 D graders towards the learning is categorized good.
