Abstract

In general, misconceptions experienced by student could cause difficulties in study, meanwhile children have their own sense.Level of misconceptions experienced by student also unequal, in this case something experiences high level misconceptions, medium, and low. For that reason, student requires correct learning model for each level of misconception experienced to make thestudy become meaningful. In this paper, the researcher explored information about; (1) the level of science misconceptions of thestudent concerning the state changes of water, and (2) the most effective learning model to remedy students misconceptionsconcerning the state changes of water. The three learning models in this research are: learning cycle, guided inquiry, and conceptmapping model. The method applied in this research is the clinical interview and pretest-posttest. The information collected wasanalyzed in experiment quantitative manner by anova test and average normalized gains were calculated for each experimentgroup. Keywords: science misconceptions; learning cycle; guided inquiry; concept mapping

Abstract

This study aims to (1) develop an alternative assessment on the 2nd General Chemistry Experiment through conservation-based chemistry fair project by utilizing the daily chemical (2) Determine the level of validity, practicality and effectiveness. This research is the development (Research Development) development model applied Dick and Carey (1985). The subject of limited testing and field trials is subject lecturers and students of Science Education UNNES. Determined by purposive sample, the lecturers and the students who take the course 2nd General Chemistry Experiment. The data obtained from this trial are: (1) input from experts, to determine the content and construct validity of the assessment feature; (2) input from a limited sample testing, to determine the practicality of chemistry clue fair project (CFP) based conservation by utilizing chemical daily; Instrument data collectors in the form of a questionnaire legibility chemistry making instructions fair project (CFP) based conservation by utilizing daily chemical, scoring guidelines. (3) student learning outcomes data to determine the effectiveness of the assessment. Input from experts student questionnaire, and the value of chemistry fair project (CFP) limited test samples analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Assessment of 2nd General Chemistry Experiment alternative developed is successful well-developed assessment if valid, practical, and effective.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to build creative thinking skills and creative attitude of students through a model of problem-based lectures Environmental Chemistry (PBL) Green Chemistry visionary. Mixed methods research design experimental models embedded with pretest-posttest control group were used in this study, and the differences between assumed initial end-tests as the effects of the treatment. Creative thinking skills measured by the essay tests, non test while the creative attitude is measured from the completed questionnaires consisting of positive and negative statements of markers creative attitude. Data measurement N-gain of creative thinking skills for the control and experimental group were 0.40 and 0.71, while the creative attitude were 0.08 and 0.34. Improved tests of creative thinking skills or creative attitudes were analyzed by t-test. Implementation of research findings indicate environmental chemistry lecture- problems based Green Chemistry vision can improve thinking skills and of creative student.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a character integrated science learning media on the theme of conservation with science edutainment approach. The method used to achieve the goal of development through Research and Development (R and D) is directed to develop media integrated science learning environment characterized by caring conservation theme for junior high school students, in the form of puzzles, crossword and ICT-based squareword. The results of this study indicate that the integrated science learning outcomes increased conservation theme. Overall of the improvement (gain) learning outcomes of 0.85, means increase with height criteria. The average total score of the indicator is 93.75 environmentally conscious characters that have shown entrenched criteria (MK) among students.

Abstract

Learning application is a medium that can be used to convey the content of the material involving mobile devices such as mobile phones based on Android. Learning Phenomens of Eclipse is android-based multimedia application that is created as a supplementof science instructional material in concepts of eclipses that can be accessed using a mobile device such as mobile phone. The methodology used to make this application is waterfall methodology. The purpose of making the application is the conception of conservation and science mobile learning is expected to help the students in particular and scientific community in general to get the ease of learning the concept of solar and lunar eclipses using a smartphone device without having to print using paper (paperless). The application also comes with interactive features of images, videos and quizzes. The conclusion is that mobile learning science applications of eclipse phenomenon  in conception of conservation is developed and feasible to be used to study the concept of  eclipse and support theefforts to reduce the use of paper (paperless).

Abstract

Science Education Seminar course aims to develop the communication skill of students. The materials and assignments are given to train how to communicate effectively both written and orally. The tasks consist of the scientific papers analysis, conceptual article draft, and other assignments. It took longer time to assess those assignments with only pencil and paper methods therefore a web-based alternative assessment was designed to assess the assignments. Web-based alternative assessment (e-assessment) can facilitate students and lecturer in the process of collecting and assessing tasks. The validation score by the assessment expert of the four aspects resulted 94,64%, 92,86%, 91,07%, and 92,86% meanwhile the score of expert information systems was 90, 63%. Thus the product can be said as valid in very feasible category with the average score of 81.5%. The percentage of positive responses of students was 84,43% that indicates the product is effective to help students and lecturers in the assessing students’ assignment and performance. Therefore, it can be said that the research has met the indicator of feasibility to result a valid and effective product.
