Abstract

Science process skills approach needed in effective chemistry learning. This can be done with the help of student learning media such as student worksheets which contribute to the development of students' independence, skills, affective, cognitive, and psychomotor and personal abilities of students and further developed in the group, especially on the practical implementation. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the chemistry teaching science process skills approach with worksheets assisted that is applied to the teaching process of SMA N in Pemalang. The study design was a pretest and posttest control group. Samples were choosen by cluster random sampling technique, so the experimental class using science process skills approach aided student worksheets while the control class without learning science process skills approach. Data analysis used the left-mean difference test and t-test, cognitive learning outcomes were analyzed with statistical parametric, whereas the affective aspect, psychomotor and science process skills, were analyzed descriptively. The effectiveness of treatment is known from the results of gain test that using student’s pretest and posttest data. The gain results of the analysis of cognitive test is 0.79 for experimental class with a high criterion that indicates the level of understanding students are significantly different (high). The conclusion of this research is science process skills approach aided worksheets effectively to the achievement of student learning outcomes with classical learning completeness 86.09%.Keywords: Learning Effectiveness, Science Process Skills, Student Worksheets

Abstract

A study concerning the application of multi-intelligence teaching materials based animation to improve student achievement and student motivation in Chemistry Tadris IAIN Walisongo Semarang on the material structure of the metal packing have been observed. Research using cluster random sampling technique. The samples were divided into experimental class (a class that uses animation-based learning media) and control classes (classes that do not use animation-based learning media). Data analysis showed that there were significant differences between the experimental class and the control class. On the one hand the test calculations obtained t count less than t table with dk = 20 with  = 5%, then we can conclude that Ha is accepted, which means that the average student learning outcomes using media-based learning animation (the experimental group) was better than average of chemistry student learning outcomes that do not use the animation (the control group). As well as in the assessment of the affective aspects. Students who get the lesson with animated media proved to have the learning motivation better than students who do not use animation media. Therefore it can be concluded that the animationbased learning media is effective to improve student achievement and student learning motivation.Keywords: Multi-intelligence Animation-based

Abstract

Kurangnya aktivitas dan motivasi belajar yang menampak pada saat siswa menjawab pertanyaan  guru  dan  anggapan  bahwa  kimia merupakan mata  pelajaran  yang  sulit menyebabkan hasil belajar siswa kelas XI IPA SMA N 1 Gringsing kurang maksimal sehingga ketuntasan  belajar  tidak  tercapai  baik  secara  klasikal maupun  individual. Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan hasil belajar  siswa dengan pendekatan Science, Environment, Technology, and Society (SETS) melalui metode eksperimen aplikatif dengan subyek  penelitian  siswa  kelas XI  IPA  1  sejumlah  38  orang. Data  dikumpulkan melalui metode  dokumentasi  guna  mengetahui  kondisi  awal,  tes,    observasi,  dan  angket  untuk mengevaluasi  hasilnya. Peningkatan  hasil  belajar  kognitif  dievaluasi  dengan  tes,  aspek afektif dan psikomotor diperoleh dari pengamatan mengacu lembar observasi dan angket Hasil  penelitian menunjukan  adanya  peningkatan  hasil  belajar  kognitif,  afektif maupun psikomotorik yang signifi kan dari pra siklus, siklus I sampai dengan siklus III. Kata Kunci: pendekatan SETS, eksperimen aplikatif

Abstract

This research was aimed to improve the generic skill (observation, sense of scale,causality, logical frame, and logical inference) of students. The research was conductedby using education research and development design. The data were collected by test,questionnaire, and observation sheets. The subject of research was fourth semester studentsof chemistry education programme of educational institute of Central Java. Achievement ofgeneric skill enhancement was evaluated by written exam, deed test, work observation, andstudents’ work results. The result of research showed the signifi cant enhancement of thewhole developed aspects. The success was shown also by the students’ positive attituderesponse.Keywords: science generic skill; instrument analytical chemistry

Abstract

Meningkatkan pencapaian kompetensi yang menjadi indikator dalam kajian mutu pendidikan di Indonesia dapat dilakukan melalui pengadaan bahan ajar kimia yang bemutu dan inovatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan Chemistry Handout berstrategi Problem Based Solving (PBS) bervisi SETS sebagai bahan ajar inovatif dan mengetahui kriteria validitasnya. Pengembangan dilakukan dengan metode penelitian Research and Development model 4D yang dimodifikasi menjadi 3D. Validitas Chemistry Handout diperoleh dari hasil validasi menggunakan lembar validasi ahli materi dan ahli media. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa validitas isi Chemistry Handout mendapatkan nilai 93,33 dengan kriteria sangat valid. Chemistry Handout memiliki kesesuaian untuk digunakan pada pembelajaran berstrategi PBS dan mendukung pembelajaran bervisi SETS. Validitas Chemistry Handout dari aspek media mencapai nilai validitas 95 dengan kriteria sangat valid. Chemistry Handout disusun sesuai dengan tujuan pembelajaran dan karakter peserta dinilai dapat mendorong peserta didik untuk aktif menggali pengetahuan, melakukan pemecahan masalah dan bekerjasama dalam kelompok. Desain Chemistry Handout memasukan aspek–aspek yang memberikan kesempatan peserta didik melakukan pemecahkan masalah yang dihubungkan dengan unsur SETS dinilai mampu mendorong peserta didik belajar. Chemistry Handout berstrategi PBS bervisi SETS berhasil dikembangkan dengan kriteria validitas sangat valid diharapkan menjadi bahan ajar bermutu dan inovatif untuk membantu meningkatkan ketercapaian kompetensi dasar stoikiometri.Increasing the competence accomplishment as the indicator of education quality in Indonesia can be hold by developing an inovative and qualified instructional material. This researh had purpose to develop and validate the Chemistry Handout with Problem Based Solving (PBS) strategy and SETS vision as the inovative instructional material.This research was constucted with the Research and Development (R & D) method which modified 4D model to 3D model of development. The Content and media validaty of Chemistry Handout were collected from result validation through expert assesment used the content and media validation sheets. Results showed that the content validity of Chemistry Handout reach 93,33 value which had very valid criteria. Chemistry Handout was stated suitable to used as an instructional material to support the Problem Based Solving Learning and SETS visson learning. The media validity of Chemistry Handout reach 95 value which stated very valid criteria. Chemistry Handout had be arranged suitable to learning purpose and student characteristic so it had potent to motivated student be actively involve learners, active role of practitioners (problem solvers) conronted with ill-structured problem wich refleted the real world and create a collaborative learning environment. The design of Chemistry Handout containt apects which gave student the opportunity to solve the real life problem that integrated to the SETS element, so it was potential to increase the student’s motivation learning. The Chemistry Handout with Problem Based Learning strategy and SETS vision is a valid instructional material can be used in the Stiochiometry learning to increasing the competence accomplishment.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the influence of applied practical implementation of Chemoentrepreneurship (CEP) oriented towards improvement learning outcomes on colloid chemistry subject of class XI high school students. The population of this study were all Science students of class XI of the high schools in Magelang, 2012-2013 school year. The design used in this study was pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling, obtained Science XI-3 as experimental class used practical methods applicable CEP oriented and Science class XI-2 as the control class. The results showed that there was an influence of applied practical implementation of CEP oriented towards thew improvement of student learning outcomes chemistry. The magnitude of the effect of applied practical implementation of CEP oriented towards improvement of student learning outcomes chemistry was 63.64%. The improvement of student learning outcomes in the experimental class in the high category with N-Gain value of 0.84 was greater than the control class with Ngain value of 0.51 was included in the medium category. Based on the results, it can be concluded that there are significant influence of practical implementation of CEP applicative oriented toward chemistry learning outcome of students in one high school in Magelang.Keywords: Applicative Experiment Method, Chemoentrepreneurship, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of inquiry learning model with REACT strategy on learning outcomes and to determine the contribution to the learning outcomes. The expected benefits are improvements in learning chemistry subjects in class XI of high school through constructivism learning activities. The population in this study were students of class XI of high school in Semarang. The analysis showed the early stages of the population have the same degree of homogeneity and normal distribution. Average learning outcomes after experimental class treated were better than the control class, which amounted to 75.52 and 67.14. Test the difference between two average results obtained t from calculation (4.85)> t from table (1.66), so we can conclude the experimental class learning results are better than the control class. Correlation test resulted biserial correlation coefficient (rb) of 0.58 and t from calculation (5.68)> t from table (1.99), so the influence was significant. Effect of application of inquiry learning model with REACT strategy shown by the coefficient of determination of 33.64%.The cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class had reached mastery learning classical while control class not yet. The average value of affective and psychomotor experimental classes are better than the control class. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning with REACT strategy have positive effect on learning outcomes chemistry in student class XI of high school in Semarang.

Abstract

Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara yang telah dilakukan dengan guru, ternyata hasil belajar kimia siswa kelas X SMA Ibu Kartini Semarang masih rendah.  Hal ini disebabkan karena pembelajaran didominasi dengan metode ceramah yang berpusat pada  guru. Penggunaan  pendekatan  game  simulation,  diharapkan  dapat meningkatkan kecakapan  hidup  (life  skill)  dan  hasil  belajar  siswa  pada  pokok  bahasan  hidrokarbon. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam tiga  siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refl eksi. Fokus yang diteliti dalam penelitian ini adalah kecakapan hidup siswa dan hasil belajar siswa. Data yang diperoleh kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif untuk mengetahui peningkatan  hasil  belajar  siswa.  Indikator  keberhasilan  penelitian  ini  dilihat  hasil  belajar siswa  yaitu  secara  klasikal  85%  siswa mencapai  ketuntasan  belajar  individual minimal 65%. Berdasarkan analisa data hasil penelitian, rata-rata kecakapan hidup (life skill) siswa meningkat dari pada siklus I(86%), siklus II (71.52%), dan siklus III (75.02%). Sedangkan hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata 71.05 (siklus I), 75.27 (siklus II), dan 82.24 (siklus III). Kata Kunci: game simulation, life skill

Abstract

Suatu pembelajaran akan menyenangkan dan optimal jika menerapkan media pembelajaran yang tepat. Sa/ah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan oleh guru dalam mengajar adalah pendekatan Aesop's berbantuan media Guidance Worksheet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan pendekatan Aesop's berbantuan Guidance Worksheet berpengaruh terhadap hasil be/ajar siswa materi pokok hidrokarbon dan untuk mengetahui efektifitasnya terhadap hasil be/ajar siswa suatu SMA di Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimen nyata. T eknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, yakni satu kelas dipilih sebagai kelas eksperimen menggunakan pendekatan Aesop's berbantuan Guidance Worksheet dan satu kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvensional. Pengambilan data penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode dokumentasi, tes, observasi dan angket. Rata-rata nilai post test kelas eksperimen adalah 86,80 dan kelas kontrol adalah 80,64. Pada uji hipotesis thitung (4,858) > t1abel (1,99) yang berarti rata-rata hasil be/ajar kognitif kelas eksperimen lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pendekatan Aesop's berbantuan Guidance Worksheet berpengaruh terhadap hasil be/ajar kimia materi pokok hidrokarbon dan setelah metode tersebut diterapkan ternyata menambah keefektifan be/ajar siswa.Learning activity will be fun and optimal when applied using an appropriate learning media. One approach that can be used by teachers in teaching is the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet. This study aimed to determine whether the use of the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet have significant effect on student learning outcomes in subject of hydrocarbons and wether it have effectiveness after it applied on an high school student in Semarang. This study uses a real experiment design. The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling, one class was as an experimental class using the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet while one class was as a control class using conventional methods. The intake of data research were obtained through the method of documentation, testing, observation and questionnaires. The average grade of post test in experimental class is 86.80 while in control class is 80.64. Hypothesis testing obtained tcaunt (4,858) > trable (1,99), which means that an average grade of cognitive learning outcomes in experiment class was better than the control class. It can be concluded that the Aesop's approach with media assisted of Guidance Worksheet had an effect on chemistry learning outcomes of hydrocarbon subject and it increase the effectiveness of student learning.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui letak kesulitan, faktor penyebab, dan caramengatasi kesulitan siswa dalam memahami materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian dilakukandi SMA Negeri 1 Pemalang dengan subjek penelitian sebanyak 126 siswa kelas XI PSIA.Penelitian dilakukan melalui observasi proses pembelajaran, tes tertulis dengan Two-tierMultiple Choice Diagnostic Istrument, dan wawancara. Letak kesulitan siswa untuk konseppada materi larutan penyangga adalah (1) konsep pengertian larutan penyangga 35,52%,(2) konsep perhitungan pH dan pOH Larutan Penyangga dengan menggunakan prinsipkesetimbangan 26,03%, (3) konsep perhitungan pH larutan penyangga pada penambahansedikit asam atau basa 40,83%, dan (4) konsep fungsi larutan penyangga dalam tubuhmakhluk hidup dan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari 68,26%. Faktor penyebab kesulitansiswa antara lain kurangnya minat dan perhatian siswa pada saat proses pembelajaranberlangsung, kurangnya kesiapan siswa dalam menerima konsep baru, kurangnyapenekanan pada konsep-konsep prasyarat yang penting, penanaman konsep yang kurangmendalam, strategi belajar, dan kurangnya variasi latihan soal. Cara mengatasi kesulitansiswa dalam memahami materi larutan penyangga adalah meningkatkan minat dan perhatiansiswa pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung, mengkondisikan siswa agar siap dalammenerima konsep baru, pembahasan dan penanaman konsep-konsep prasyarat secaramendalam, serta banyaknya latihan soal yang bervariasi.Kata kunci:Two-tier Multiple Choice Diagnostic Instrument
