Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of inquiry learning model with REACT strategy on learning outcomes and to determine the contribution to the learning outcomes. The expected benefits are improvements in learning chemistry subjects in class XI of high school through constructivism learning activities. The population in this study were students of class XI of high school in Semarang. The analysis showed the early stages of the population have the same degree of homogeneity and normal distribution. Average learning outcomes after experimental class treated were better than the control class, which amounted to 75.52 and 67.14. Test the difference between two average results obtained t from calculation (4.85)> t from table (1.66), so we can conclude the experimental class learning results are better than the control class. Correlation test resulted biserial correlation coefficient (rb) of 0.58 and t from calculation (5.68)> t from table (1.99), so the influence was significant. Effect of application of inquiry learning model with REACT strategy shown by the coefficient of determination of 33.64%.The cognitive learning outcomes of experimental class had reached mastery learning classical while control class not yet. The average value of affective and psychomotor experimental classes are better than the control class. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the inquiry learning with REACT strategy have positive effect on learning outcomes chemistry in student class XI of high school in Semarang.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to determine the characteristics of the testlet assessment instrument items of student’s prior knowledge on thermochemistry material. The method used in this research was research and development method of 3-D model (Define, Design, Develop). Instruments were piloted on 39 students and validated by experts. Instrument reliability (r11) of the instrument was 0.9 with very high category. The validity of the items consisted of 42 valid questions, and 3 invalid questions. The difficulty index of item consisted of 7 difficult questions, 34 moderate questions, and 4 easy questions. Discrimination index of item consisted of 7 questions bad category, 17 questions enough category, 20 questions good category, and 1 question very good category.Keywords : assessment instrument, prior knowledge, teslet, thermochemistry Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan karakteristik butir soal instrumen penilaian pengetahuan awal (prior knowledge) mahasiswa berbentuk tes teslet pada materi termokimia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian dan pengembangan model 3-D (Define, Design, Develop). Instrumen diujicobakan pada 39 mahasiswa dan divalidasi oleh ahli. Reliabilitas instrumen r11 sebesar 0,9 dengan kategori sangat tinggi. Validitas butir soal terdiri dari 42 soal valid, dan 3 soal tidak valid. Tingkat kesulitan butir soal terdiri dari 7 soal sukar, 34 soal sedang, dan 4 soal mudah. Daya pembeda butir soal terdiri dari 7 soal jelek, 17 soal cukup, 20 soal baik, dan 1 soal sangat baik.Kata kunci: instrumen penilaian, pengetahuan awal, testlet, termokimia

Abstract

Science learning has potential in the nation's development efforts in terms of process. Applicative science materials can be used to develop the entrepreneurial spirit of students. However, the lack of student awareness in the application of science science has resulted in science education being only seen as science learning materials for junior high schools. Students lack the ability to have a scientific attitude that affects their entrepreneurial abilities. The purpose of this study is to determine the entrepreneurial ability of students by applying the PjBL learning model. This research is a quasi-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. The research population is the students of Science Education, Tidar University. Sampling by random method. The instrument used is a student entrepreneur response questionnaire. Data collection techniques through questionnaires. The results showed that the students' pretest results in the very low category were the highest at 43%. However, the posttest results showed progress with the highest percentage, namely the high category with a percentage of 38%. Thus, project-based learning (PjBL) has a good effect on students' interest in entrepreneurship

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of the Project-Based Learning theme Blue My Sky is Healthy My Earth to increase environmental literacy. The research carried out was quasi-experimental quantitative research using statistical tests on numerical data. The overall N-gain value of environmental literacy in the experimental class that uses the Project-Based Learning model is 0.76. From the research results, it can be concluded that the hypothesis test value from the data results is fulfilled, namely, tcount 5.657 > ttable 2.012 so there is a difference in increasing environmental literacy between students who receive the Project-Based Learning model and the conventional learning model. The category of increasing environmental literacy is high. The value of each environmental literacy indicator is 0.73 for the ecological knowledge indicator in the high category, 0.81 for the environmental skills indicator in the high category, and 0.75 for the attitude towards the environment indicator in the high category.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze flipped classrooms in online learning in improving to improve Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) skills. The application of the Flipped Classroom strategy can provide a number of advantages for teachers and students. Where it is very helpful in online learning. CPS skills include 21st century skills that are influential in the field of life. CPS is complex in nature involving cognitive and social abilities. The benefits expected from this research are to become an alternative teaching and learning activity during online learning. This research method is a literature review through a literature study with a qualitative approach. The data obtained is identified and analyzed to become a meaningful knowledge. The results of the study show that the role of technology in flipped classroom learning provides an overview of the quality of learning using technology. Flipped classrooms provide opportunities for collaboration and interaction that are beneficial in mastering collaborative problem solving skills. The conclusion in this study is that flipped classrooms in online learning can improve students' collaborative problem solving skills.

Abstract

Azas kekekalan energi merupakan salah satu topik dalam kajian termokimia yang telah dipelajari mahasiswa Program STudi Pendidikan IPA pada saat mereka di bangku SMA. Pengetahuan awal mahasiswa pada topiktersebut akan menjadi dasar bagi mereka untuk mempelajari materi terkait di perguruan tinggi. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan pengetahuan awal mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan IPA pada topic azas kekekalan energi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskrivtif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Sampel penelitian adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPA FKIP Universitas Tidar tahun 2017/2018. Instrumen yang digunakan merupakan tes bentuk testlet terdiri dari 9 pertanyaan dengan 3 soal utama dan 3 soal pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa masih terdapat mahasiswa yang belum dapat memahami konsep azas kekekalan energi dengan baik.

Abstract

Water for consumption purposes must be standardized, in terms of quality, physical, chemical and biological parameters, therefore will not cause side effects to health. Water quality standards indicate the recommended and permitted concentration value for all parameters. This research aims to examine the quality of water sourced from the Salak mountain springs. The location of clean water sampling was carried out on Ciapus Mount Salak raw water. Water quality test results from physical parameters of clean water including turbidity, color, total dissolved solid, temperature and odor have. Chemical parameters int the clean water standard are pH, iron, fluoride, hardness, Manganese, Nitrate, nitrite, cyanide, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, chromium, selenium, zinc, sulfate, lead and organic. Biological parameters of clean water including MPN coliform and Escherichia coli have standardized quality standards. Based on research results that all parameter of clean water including physical, chemical and biological have standardized quality can used to treatment drinking water.Keywords: clean water, drinking water, water quality standard, chemical parameter, biological parameterABSTRAKAir yang dikonsumsi harus memenuhi standar kualitas fisika, kimia dan biologi agar tidak menimbulkan efek samping bagi kesehatan. Baku mutu kualitas air mengidikasikan batas kadar tertinggi yang disarankan untuk semua parameter. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji kualitas air yang bersumber dari mata air Gunung Salak. Parameter uji kualitas air fisika meliputi kekeruhan, warna, padatan terlarut, suhu dan bau. Parameter uji kualitas air kimia meliputi pH, besi, fluorida, kesadahan, mangan, nitrat, nitrit, sianida, merkuri, arsen, kadmium, khromium, selenium, seng, sulfat, timbal dan zat organik. Parameter uji kualitas air fisika meliputi MPN coliform and Escherichia coli. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua parameter kualitas air bersih yang meliputi fisika, kimia dan biologi memenuhi baku mutu yang dapat digunakan bahan baku pengolahan air minum.Kata Kunci: air bersih, air minum, standar kualitas air, pamateter kimia, parameter fisika

Abstract

Ethnoscience is a study that includes original knowledge of the community which can be verified through scientific methods. This original knowledge can be used as a learning resource to provide in-depth experiences, broaden knowledge, and increase students' interest in studying science. The purpose of this research is to reconstruct the original blacksmith's knowledge into scientific knowledge. This study used a qualitative approach with interview and observation methods. The population used in this research is the people of Rejosari Village, Pakis District, Magelang Regency who work as blacksmiths. The focus of research is on the tools and materials used by blacksmiths during the production process. Data analysis uses the Miles-Huberman model which includes data reduction, data presentation, drawing conclusions and verification. Based on the results of the research, a number of conclusions were obtained, including the form of the relevance of original science to period IV chemical elements, so that it could be used as a learning resource. The scientific concepts contained in the original knowledge of blacksmiths include metal elements, electron configurations, metal properties, corrosion, redox reactions, and metal alloys.

Abstract

Science learning is often considered difficult by students because students think that science material is abstract in nature. Science learning is learning related to real life that requires direct experience from the natural environment so that learning is more meaningful. The natural environment is the environment around us that can be used as a learning resource. The purpose of learning science is to provide knowledge (cognitive), skills (psychomotor), and attitudes (affective). The natural environment that can be used as a source of learning science is rice fields. This study aims to analyze the use of the natural environment as a learning resource in junior high school science learning. This study uses the literature study method with the results of the data in the form of written words. Based on the analysis of the articles that we have done, we obtained data that the use of the natural environment as a learning resource in junior high school science learning has a significant influence on science process skills. The success of improving science process skills is due to the impact of using learning facilities using nature. The purpose of writing this article is to describe the use of the natural environment as a learning resource in junior high school science learning.
