Abstract

The background of this study was the reality that the understanding of students in class X of SMAN 1 Kaliwungu about Hydrocarbon compounds is still very low. Learning method that has been done was the discussion of information and exercises. Students’ attention was initially 100%, but weakened after a such period and just when students did exercises, they seemed to lose of desire to learn. The change of teaching methods used was attempted by using the method  of Tuba Asyik, the method of peer tutor combined with the fun games. This action research consisted of two cycles, each of which had a step of plan-action-observation-reflection. The analysis used was a qualitative and quantitative analysis, while the validation of the data used was triangulation. The percentage of attendance of students in Cycle I and Cycle II was 100%. The number of students who are enthusiastic about taking on the learning process was 65% PreCycle, Cycle I was 90%, in Cycle II was 92.5%. Classical Thoroughness of Learning in Cycle I was 78% and that in Cycle II was 85%. These figures showed that Tuba Asyik method was an appropriate and effective mthod to improve student learning outcomes in hydrocarbon compound topic.Keywords: TUBA Asyik Method

Abstract

Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang Pengaruh model pembelajaran sistem jawabberantai dan minat siswa terhadap hasil belajar kimia pokok materi larutan penyanggapada siswa kelas XI SMA N 1 Brebes. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XISMA Negeri 1 Brebes tahun ajaran 2008/2009. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknikcluster random sampling, yaitu diambil dua kelas sebagai kelompok eksperimen (kelas XIIPA 2) dan kelompok kontrol (kelas XI IPA 3). Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalahmodel pembelajaran Sistem Jawab Berantai dan minat siswa, sedangkan variabel terikatnyaadalah hasil belajar kimia. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan metode dokumentasi,tes, observasi, angket dan dilanjutkan dengan analisis regresi ganda. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh model pembelajaran Sistem Jawab Berantai terhadaphasil dan minat belajar kimia pokok materi larutan penyangga pada siswa kelas XI SMA N 1Brebes. Guru hendaknya menggunakan model pembelajaran Sistem Jawab Berantai sebagaisalah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran kimiauntuk meningkatkan minat siswa dalam pembelajaran kimia. Kata Kunci : sistem jawab berantai, minat siswa

Abstract

Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran Team Games Tournament (TGT) berbantuan media crossword puzzle terhadap hasil belajar dan mengetahui tanggapan siswa. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MIA. Pengambilan sampel secara cluster random sampling yaitu kelas X MIA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol dan X MIA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Berdasarkan hasil uji peerbedaan dua rata-rata hasil belajar yang diperoleh kelas eksperimen 54,73-78,06 dan kelas kontrol 49,65-72,06. Sedangkan uji ketuntasan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen mencapai 87,10% dan kelas kontrol 40,54%. Berdasarkan hasil uji peningkatan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen mencapai 16,30 dan kelas kontrol 12,80. Adapun hasil observasi terhadap aspek sikap diperoleh nilai rata-rata kelas eksperimen 84,21 dan kelas kontrol 82,08. Sedangkan untuk hasil observasi terhadap aspek keterampilan diperoleh rata-rata nilai siswa kelas eksperimen 79,66 dan kelas kontrol 72,70. Berdasarkan hasil angket tanggapan siswa, model pembelajaran Team Games Tournament memperoleh tanggapan positif yaitu siswa merasa senang dan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman pada materi tata nama senyawa. Simpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu model pembelajaran tipe Team Games Tournament berbantuan media crossword puzzle berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar dan mendapat tanggapan positif dari siswa.This research is experimental research. This study aims to determine the effect of learning Team Games Tournament (TGT) media-aided crossword puzzle on learning outcomes and determine responses that students. The population in this study were all students of X MIA class. The sampling is a cluster random sampling, they are the X MIA 2 class as a control class and X MIA 3 class as the experimental. Based on the test, the results of the difference of two average are 54.73-78.06 for the experimental class and 49.65-72.06 for the control class. While the result of the test is based on the learning completeness are 87.10% for the experimental class and 40.54% for the control class. Based on the learning outcome test, the results are the experimental class reached 16.30 and 12.80 the control class. The observation result of students attitude aspects are 82.07 for the experimental class and 84.21 for the control class. As for the results of the observations of the students skills aspects gained an average value are 73.15 for the experiment class and 80.73 for the control class. Based on the result of the questionnaire for the students responses, that the TGT learning technique get the positive responses that students feel happy and not boring and it can improve the understanding of the nomenclature of compound and material. The conclusions from this research that the type of learning technique, Team Games Tournament media-aided crossword puzzle influences thelearning outcomes significantly and get the positive responses from students.

Abstract

The limitations of the tools and materials made practicum in school is not performing well, so it requires a simple experimental strategy. This study aims to determine the differences of outcomes in using contextual learning with a simple experimental strategy and the magnitude of mastery learning subject matter of redox reactions in a high school in Tegal. The population of this study was all class X at the high school. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, obtained X-2 as an experimental class using the strategy of implementation of contextual learning environments on simple experiments and X-3 as a control class using the expository method. The study design was a posttest only control group design. After learning by using the contextual method, a posttest were performed in the experimental and control class. Statistical test used are the test for normality, equality of two variances, the difference between two average and mastery learning. The average grade of experimental class posttest 80.86 and control class 73.70. In the hypothesis test, obtained t  3.501 greater than 1.993, with 5% significance level and 74 degrees of freedom. It means that the average grade of cognitive achievement is better than the control experiment, so it can be concluded thah the implementation of contextual learning with a simple experimental strategy based environments in class X gives a positive difference to the learning outcomes of the subject matter of the redox chemistry in class X.Keywords:A Simple Experiment Based Environments, Contextual Learning

Abstract

This study was motivated by the lack of student learning outcomes and involvement of the student in class XI of High School in Kudus especially on solubility and solubility results subject. Think pair share learning model based on creative problem solving was applied to overcome these problems. This study aimed to determine the improvement of student learning outcomes. The experiment was conducted on an experimental basis, with the entire population  of high school students of class XI. Sampling was done by using cluster random sampling, so then obtained XI IPA 3 class as the experimental class and XI IPA 1 class as the control class. The data of increasing students' cognitive learning outcomes derived from the test multiple choice questions, while the data psychomotor and affective learning outcomes of students were from the observation sheet. The result of data analysis showed an increase in learning outcomes and student activity. In addition, an increase in cognitive learning outcomes classical achieved completeness. It can be concluded that the application of the think pair share learning model based on creative problem solving can improve student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Metode pembelajaran ceramah yang umum dilakukan oleh guru membuat siswamerasa bosan dan jenuh. Untuk itu diperlukan suatu pendekatan pembelajaran yang tepatagar siswa merasa tertarik dan termotivasi untuk belajar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untukmengetahui apakah pembelajaran berbasis Question Student Have (QSH) dengan bantuanChemo-Edutainment (CET) media key relation chart efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa.Populasi dalam penelitian adalah siswa kelas X SMA N 1 Kedungwuni kecuali kelas X1tahun ajaran 2008/2009 Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas X7 sebagai kelaseksperimen dan kelas X6 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pemilihannya dengan cluster randomsampling. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengambilan data adalah dokumentasi, tes danangket. Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen 72 sedangkankelas kontrol 61. Hasil analisis data menunjukkan adanya keefektifan pembelajaran berbasisQuestion Student Have (QSH) dengan bantuan Chemo-Edutainment (CET) media keyrelation chart terhadap hasil belajar siswa pokok bahasan hidrokarbon dan minyak bumi. Halini dapat ditunjukkan dengan peningkatan hasil belajar dengan peningkatan kelompok kontroltidak lebih baik dari eksperimen yaitu masing-masing sebesar 37 dan 46. Berdasarkan hasilpenelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa Question Student Have (QSH) dengan bantuan Chemo-Edutainment (CET) media key relation chart efektif terhadap hasil belajar kimia siswa SMA. Kata Kunci: question student have, media key relation chart

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa suatu SMA N di Jekulo dengan menerapkan metode praktikumberbasis masalah. Metode pelaksanaannya dengan desain control group pretestpostest, yaitu penelitian dengan melihat perbedaan hasil pretest maupun postest antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Populasi penelitian ini adalah kelas XIIPA sebanyak 4 kelas.Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga didapat XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Analisis uji perbedaan rata-rata hasil postest kelas eksperimen menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dibanding kelas kontrol. Kelas eksperimen memperoleh rata-rata nilai postest yaitu 76,8 sedangkan kelas kontrol yaitu 70. Uji normalitas Gain pada hasil belajar kognitif siswa menunjukkan bahwa kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan yang lebih baik dalamketerampilan proses sains sebesar 0,48 dan kelas kontrol peningkatannya sebesar 0,35dengan kriteria sedang. Tingkat ketercapaian indikator keterampilan proses sains menurut analisis deskriptif menunjukkan rata-rata kelas eksperimen sangat baik yaitu91,12%. Menurut analisis koefisien determinasi diperoleh hasil bahwa penelitian ini berkontribusi sebesar 37,21% dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis tersebut disimpulkan bahwa penerapan praktikum berbasis masalahdapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran Probing-Prompting Berbantuan Lembar Kerja Berstruktur terhadap hasil be/ajar siswa di suatu sekolah pada materi Hidrokarbon dan Minyak Bumi. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling. Pada kelas eksperimen digunakan model pembelajaran probing-prompting berbantuan lembar kerja berstruktur, sedangkan kelas kontrol menggunakan metode konvesional. Setelah diberi perlakuan yang berbeda dan dilakukan post test dapat diketahui bahwa hasil be/ajar siswa kelas ekperimen lebih baik dibandingkan hasil be/ajar siswa kelas kontrol, yaitu masing-masing 77 dan 70. Berdasarkan uji perbedaan rata-rata hasil be/ajar, diperoleh thitung(4,074)> trabe1(1,669), maka dapat dikatakan bahwa rata-rata hasil be/ajar kelompok eksperimen lebih baik dari kelompok kontrol. Pada uji ketuntasan be/ajar, persentase ketuntasan kelas eksperimen mencapai 91, 18% dan kelas kontrol mencapai 59,38%. Uji korelasi memperoleh harga koefisien biserial sebesar 0,5638. Dari seluruh hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran probing-prompting berbantuan LKB berpengaruh terhadap hasil be/ajar siswa pada materi pokok Hidrokarbon dan Minyak bumi dengan memberikan kontribusi sebesar 32%.This study aimed to know the influence of the use of a learning model Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet on learning outcomes in an high school especially in the Hydrocarbon and Petroleum. Sampling is done by using purposive sampling technique. In the experimental class, learning used Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet, while in classroom control used conventional methods. After being given a different treatment and after post test was done, it can be concluded that students' learning outcomes in class experiment is better than the control class, respectively 77 and 70. Based on the analysis of difference average learning outcomes, it obtained fcounr(4,074)> trabie(1,669), so it can be concluded that the average of learning outcomes in experimental class is better than the control class. In the test mastery learning, mastery percentage of experimental class reached 91. 18% while control class reached 59.38%. Test correlation obtained biserial coefficient of 0.5638. It can be concluded that the learning model of Probing-prompting assisted by structured worksheet have significant effect on student learning outcomes on Hydrocarbons and Petroleum subject with contribution of 32%.

Abstract

This research aims to produce innovation of performance assessment rubric on practicum salt hydrolysis material. The rubric was being consulted and validated by experts, then it was being revised and tested. The trial result was being analyzed and revised, then usage test was given. The research was conducted at SMA in Semarang using purposive sampling technique. A small scale was given to ten students and large scales were given to the students in class XI IPA 3 and XI IPA 4. The results showed that the validity of innovation of performance assessment rubric by experts was 86.46%. Implementation innovation of performance assessment rubric on practicum salt hydrolysis "test salt solution in water", the agreement has been reached between the observer and the student with the value of generalizability coefficient are 0.711 and 0.744. The impact of the use of performance assessment rubric is that the cognitive learning outcomes of the students can achieve mastery learning. In class XI IPA 3, there are 33 students from 38 students achieve KKM and in class XI IPA 4 there are 33 students from 37 students achieve values KKM. Student’s characters can also be developed during lab activities, such as discipline, honesty, independence, curiosity, responsibility, and cooperation. Based on the results, innovation of performance assessment research practicum salt hydrolysis "test salt solution in water" could be used as a guide to the performance assessment (psychomotor) of the students and increase understanding of the concept and fosters student’s character.  Keywords : Innovation, Performance Assessment Rubric, Salt Hydrolisis

Abstract

According to the most of students, chemistry is an abstract and diffi cult subject.The learning approach that can attract the students’ interest and correlate the science,environment, technology, and society aspects, and therefore enhance the students’ academicresult, should be applied. This research was conducted using quasi-experimental methodwith cluster random sampling technique. The developed instruments consist of the learningsets using salingtemas approach, test sets, observation and questionnaire sheets. The resultof this research shows that the chemistry learning on chemical bond topic using salingtemasapproach is effective to enhance the students’ academic result and come up the students’learning interest. The implementation of chemistry learning using salingtemas approach issuggested to be performed using more variative method in order to more improvement ofstudents’ interest and academic result.Key words: effectiveness, Salingtemas, Interest, academic result
