Abstract

One interesting phenomenon  found in Indonesia to date is “living and growing in a city with the characteristic features of a Kampung (urban village) with all of its distinctive faces”, like the interdependent relations between the Kampung Kemanggisan around the Syahdan Campus of Bina Nusantara Jakarta. The students find their daily needs in the Kampung and the villagers find business opportunities and reproduce the “Social Interaction Space” along the Haji Senin street (study location) which is dominated by buildings with the ground floor as a place of business and the upper floor as a Kost or the private housings with rented rooms which in this study was called the “Kost-Shop” building. Variations of the “Pedestrian-Friendly Kost-Shop” building grew and had an impact on the appearance of the facade. This study to reveal and provides an understanding of typology of “Kost-Shop Friendly Facades” that exists based on student “Needs and the Opportunities”, therefore, this study was written with the title of “Kost-Shop Facades” in “the Reproduction of Social Interaction Space” based on the “Needs and Opportunities” between Kampung and Campus. By using qualitative research methods; case study with indications of “social, permeable, active” obtained 12 types of “Kost-Shop Friendly Facades”.

Abstract

Abstract. A humanist open space area will not be implemented if it leaves some important segments in society such as parents, children, women and people with special needs. Integration of green infrastructure is needed to optimize open space area values. Public facilities and infrastructure especially for people with disabilities must meet four principles and criteria which include easiness, usefulness, safety and independence. Lunggi Park is one of the open space areas that still not accessible for all people. Drainage channel have a huge role in controlling water runoff in Lunggi Park. The research is concentrated in designing drainage system for Lunggi Park in order to construct a suited facilities and infrastructure for parents, children, women and people with special needs. This research also uses hydrological and hydraulic analysis in collecting prime and secondary data. The highest rainfall in 2008 was 192 mm. The processing of rainfall data using Gumbel Type I Method obtained a maximum discharge of a 2-year return period of 0,0445, a 5-year return period of 0,0569, a 10-year return period of 0,0649, a 20 year return period of 0,0728 and for a 25 year return period of 0,0744. Based on this result, the facilities and infrastructure of Lunggi Park should be arranged. The channels that do not function optimally is in spot one, two and four, so it is necessary to arrange new dimensions for these spots. Channel in spot one is designed to be square with 1,10 meters wide and 0,91 meters high. Channel in spot two is designed to be square with 1,40 meters wide and 0,76 meters high. Channel in spot four is designed to be square with 1,55 meters wide and 0,68 meters high.

Abstract

Abstract During our field surveys, two types of woody debris deposition were found. One is deposition of individual wood pieces and the other is formation of woody debris jams at obstructions such as a bridge. To investigate behavior of wood debris jam at a bridge, a series of flume experiments was performed in a smooth acrylic rectangular flume. A model of an arch bridge was used as an obstacle in river. The arch bridge was based on Yoriguci bridge. Wooden cylinder was used as model of wood debris. An interpretation of experimental results shows that the wood debris jam can be determined by number of released wood pieces and shaded area of obstructions. These experimental results also reveal that wood debris jam formed by the model bridge contribute to backwater rise. From investigation on flow around model bridge, it is clearly shown the presence of backwater rise caused by the number of wood pieces trapped by a model of an arch bridge. The results also show that the loss coefficient depends on trapped wood pieces. A simple procedure was proposed in this study which seem to provide for predicting backwater rise due to wood debris jam at obstructions.

Abstract

Abstract. The old kampongs along Gajahmada Road are one of the oldest sections in Semarang City. The existence of the old kampongs can be seen on the map in 1900. However, the old Kampongs changed their environmental conditions considerably due to their commercial activities, especially in 2007. The existence of high-rise commercial buildings dominates corridors along the Gajahmada road, and the presence of old kampongs located behind the buildings is also displaced. Whereas, the presence of these old kampongs keeps a history of the development of Semarang City and traditional houses. This article seeks to identify changes in the appearance of the old kampongs which are displaced due to the development of the commercial activity, based on a field survey, map analysis, building form and street analysis. There are significant changes and minor changes that occurred in the old kampongs along Gajahmada road. Physical changes that occur are changes in land use, ways and building functions.

Abstract

Abstract Innovations on the use of precast concrete are developing rapidly, one of them is a fly slab precast plate. Fly slab is a reinforced concrete mixture designed using high quality technology to produce concrete that is more effective, efficient and economical than conventional concrete. The concept is to reduce the mass of a precast concrete floor plate by making ribs on a concrete floor plate. By minimizing the volume of concrete in the tensile area of the floor plate while maintaining the mechanism of force transfer from concrete to reinforcement or on other contrary, it is expected to reduce the mass of the structure without reducing its strength. The objective of this research is to find out how much the efficiency of material requirements in planning earthquake resistant building structures using fly slab plates. The results of the analysis showed that the total weight reduction was 18.46% and the total concrete volume reduction was 26.53%. Reduction of structure vertical reaction was 30.78%.

Abstract

Abstract:  This research was conducted to know the maneuver of public passenger car (PPC) on an intersection, to determine the passenger car equivalent (pce) of the public passenger car and to analyze whether the stopping near intersection, PPC reduces the actual saturation flow. From this research can be known that PPC prefer using left lane because the driver want to get the closest distance to the passenger waiting on the left side of the road. PPC also prefer stopping at the place where the passenger is comfortable for waiting near the intersection. The pce of PPC is different from the pce of light vehicle. Based on the capacity method, pce of PPC are 1.13 and 1.201. Based on the headway method, pce of PPC are 1.203 ans 1.234. The stopping PPCs near intersection reduce the saturation flow.

Abstract

Abstract Betawi is one of the indigenous cultures that inhabit the capital city of Jakarta. This culture was born from a fusion of several cultures that came to the Jakarta area. Betawi culture can be seen from the system of customs that are still preserved such as silat, traditional food, community life, and traditional buildings that are still preserved today. This research used a case study of the Betawi cultural area located in Setu Babakan, Srengseng Sawah, South Jakarta. Setu Babakan area is a stronghold of the Betawi cultural heritage site which is still preserved today. The research objectives of the Betawi architectural concept in the Setu Babakan area are as follows: to know the Betawi architectural Concept, to identify the Betawi architectural concept in the Setu Babakan area, and to find solutions related to the application of Betawi architecture concept in architecture buildings today. The research method used a descriptive method based on empirical facts. The data of this research consisted of primary and secondary data obtained from literature and existing field conditions. Betawi culture as the local culture of the capital city of Jakarta is increasingly marginalized, it is even not the majority in its own area. The results of observations on the site of 879 housing units were divided into original houses as much as 22.75% characterized the Betawi architecture and 77.25% did not characterize Betawi architecture. The application of Betawi Architectural Ornaments in the Setu Babakan area, especially seen in the following elements: pendopo or front porch of the house, langkan [Betawi balustrades], hanging lamps, doors, windows, blinds, roofs, and colors.

Abstract

The growing number of private transportation ownership from year to year creates congestion problems, especially in urban areas. Public transportation conditions such as the Rapid Transit Bus (BRT) are an alternative way to use transportation. BRT Trans Semarang Corridor 1 is the busiest public transportation route in Semarang City that stretches from Mangkang Terminal to Penggaron Terminal. About 50% of the passengers of BRT Trans Semarang Corridor 1 chose to walk to and from the bus stops. However, in reality, currently, the conditions of the pedestrian paths are less than optimal in creating pedestrian comfort, and the integration system is still minimal with various modes. The purpose of this study is to identify a travel demand model suitable for pedestrian BRT Trans Semarang Corridor 1 passenger using the new urbanism 3D approach (Density, Diversity, Design). Where the data collection for analysis needs using naturalistic observation techniques by looking at the condition of the object of research in a more real way directly to the field. Density analysis used descriptive statistical analysis methods and simulated interpolation of population and building density data using the ArcGIS 10.3 application to generate pedestrian demand for their environmental density. In analyzing diversity using the land-use distribution simulation method with ArcGIS 10.3 and FAR (Floor Area Ratio) analysis using the 2016 Sketchup simulation. Compile a pedestrian path model recommendation under pedestrian demand.

Abstract

Abstract: The use of anchors in construction is gaining popularity to connect steel and concrete constructions, and to transmit tensile loads acting onto the concrete. This research aims to find out the difference in the strength of anchor based on two methods of installations that are cast in place compared to post installed with the influence of effective depth, diameter of anchor and quality of concrete, and failure of concrete breakout. Expansion anchor used in this study is "Sanko" M12x100 and ready-mix concrete PT Bonindo Ungaran, fc 25 MPa with 6 pieces of test specimens of 300x300x150 mm. Each specimen has 4 anchors with a distance between the anchors of 100 cm, the distance between the anchors to the edge of the concrete 100 mm, and the depth of installation (hef) of 60 mm. The result of the study is the predicted value of the anchor pullout capacity with the failure of concrete breakout due to the theoretical pullout, namely 42,223 N, anchor pullout test results with cast in place method of 40,574 N and post installed method by 37,494 N. Tensile strength tests (material) of anchor (fy) 338 MPa, for flat concrete compressive strength strength of (f’c) 25,698 MPa. The results of the cast in place pullout test are larger and better than post installed (40574 N>37494 N). Failure that occurred in cast in place method is a failure of concrete breakout and post installed method has occurred slip. Failures that occur are relevant to the theory.
