Abstract

The addition reaction had been done on the terminal alkynes of 17α-ethynylestradiol with ZnCl2 and HCl catalyst mediated by dichloromethane. The reaction conditions were carried out at a temperature of 70°C for 29 h, the separation of the reaction properties was carried out using Gravity Column Chromatography, and the reaction products were identification using by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR). The catalyst used was a cationic ligand coordinate, where Zn acts as the central ion and 2-propanol as the ligand. In the reaction mechanism, the reaction begins with the formation of dimeric ether. ZnCl3 catalyst acts as Lewis acid which converts alcohol to dimeric ether and forms a complex with ZnCl3. The nucleophilic terminal alkyne then attacks the C-O bond of the ether to form a vinyl carbocation which then attracts a chlorine atom from ZnCl3 which was complex bound with ether, resulting in a reaction product of 17α(chlorovinyl-3-methyl-butene)estradiol

Abstract

Insurance provides services in the form of services in facilitating a disaster that may occur based on a history of problems that have occurred. One of the private insurance companies in Indonesia has provided an insurance service program to guarantee employee welfare for policy-holding companies. The purpose of this research is to find out the pattern of association rules from the character of the insured by the policyholder so that it is expected to be able to make valuable information as input or consideration for the policymakers of private insurance companies in Indonesia. This study uses the rough set method as one of the efficient data analysis methods or techniques in database mining or knowledge discovery in relational databases. Rough sets provide algorithms to quickly and easily find hidden patterns in data. The results of the pattern of association rules for the character of the insured by the policyholder have formed as many as 14 rules. The certainty value is intended as a proportionate evaluation amount in order to find out the record of insurance claims that can be chosen by the insured. At the same time, the coverage value is intended as an evaluation amount to produce a decision for the insured to submit a claim record. The probable percentage of all events that are most recommended is seen from the highest coverage value related to record indicators, namely for administration by 45.9%, inspection by 44.1%, others by 40.8%, operation by 48.8%, financing by 46.3%, maintenance by 42%, and compensation of 65.9%.

Abstract

The number of Covid-19 patients is the main thing to be concerned about in the time of pandemic, because Covid-19 can directly affect the sustainability of human life. Thus, adequate health services are needed in treating Covid-19 patients. One of the health services is home referral hospital. For example, in Batam City, there were 3 referral hospitals and one of them is a special hospital to hospitalized the Covid-19 patients. In this research, we were using queuing theory and Monte Carlo simulation to predict the queuing system of the patients. Queue conditions have levels density more than 100%, so that a hospital simulation is carried out using a minimum number of hospitals. It is obtained that at least 5 referral hospitals are required so that the density level becomes 83%. Based on the Monte Carlo simulation, it is suggested that the minimum number of hospitals is about three to four hospitals. When the minimum number is fulfilled, the average number of patients waiting to be treated and currently under treatment reduced to 3-4 people from the original, that is 4-5 people. The average waiting time to get treatment is about 5 minutes, originally 18 minutes and average waiting time to get treatment until it was stated that the condition had improved enough to be 5 hours which was originally 8 hours.

Abstract

Lead (Pb) can decrease children’s IQ and cognitive abilities. This study aims to analyze the risk characteristics of lead exposure in children aged 4-5 years related to the risk of low IQ as an obstacle in realizing “Indonesia Emas” of 2045 and to analyze the role of medical intelligence to anticipate these potential risks. This study was conducted in Tangerang Industrial Area. The Pb concentrations in food, urine, water, and rice were tested using Flame Atomic Absorption Spectrometry (FAAS). The results showed that Pb levels in food were lower than the Limit of Quantification (LOQ) method, thus, censored data rule was used for data processing. Overall results indicate a risk of causing long term cognitive impairment. However, The results of the calculation of exposure and Margin of Exposure (MOE) are based on the assumption of 50% and 100% of LOQ value. The obtained exposure and MOE values can not be used to said that the status of Pb exposure occurs. The resulting data is still useful as a basis for further research.

Abstract

Abstract: One of the problems encountered in the forecasting process is the problem of heteroscedasticity. Heteroscedasticity occurs a lot, especially in stock data. Pt Share Price Indosat (tbk) from March 6 2012 – January 18 2022 has fluctuated from time to time, so the variance is heteroscedasticity. The Generalized Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedasticity (GARCH) model and Artificial Neural Network Backpropagation (ANNBP) are methods that can be used on data with heteroscedasticity. The aim of this research is to obtain models and forecasting results from GARCH and ANN Backpropagation. In this study, the two models were compared based on the smallest MAPE value. This study uses daily data on the closing of Indosat shares. Forecasting is done on Indosat stock closing data, the total data is 2453 data divided into two parts, namely 80% training data totaling 1962 data and 20% training data totaling 491 data. Forecasting results from the GARCH model obtained a MAPE value of 11.04%, and the ANN Backpropagation model with 7 input layers, 20 hidden layers, obtained a MAPE value of 7.01%. Thus, the best model for predicting Indosat's share price in this study is the backpropagation model.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the microencapsulation of C. caudatus K. leaves extract under optimal conditions, focusing on its potential as a therapeutic option for type 2 diabetes. In order to determine the inhibitory effect on the α-amylase enzyme, which plays a crucial role in glucose metabolism, biological activity assays were performed. The procedure of effectively encapsulating the substance was achieved at a pH level of 6 using sodium alginate at a concentration of 2% (w/v), resulting in a 77.2% percentage of encapsulation. The experiment involving the inhibition of α-amylase exhibited an IC50 value of 69.44 ± 0.924 μg/mL, demonstrating the significant biological activity of the microcapsules. The bioactive substances encapsulated in the microcapsules were released during intervals 30-120 min, at pH conditions of 2.2 and 7.4. The release of bioactive substances was only 2.32 % after 120 minutes at a pH of 2.2, whereas it increased to 64.54 % at a pH of 7.4. This discovery indicates that the microcapsules contain the capability to be utilized for the regulated delivery of drugs. The findings of this research demonstrate the potential to develop herbal medicines with therapeutic properties through microencapsulation, providing an excellent opportunity for managing type 2 diabetes.

Abstract

Carrageenan is a polysaccharide widely used as a material in the packaging industry in search of plastic replacement. κ-Carrageenan contains the lowest amount of sulfat group among other types of carrageenan which makes it the most hydrophobic one. Hence, the most suitable kind for this particular purpose. This research combined commercially available of both κ-Carrageenan and green tea extract (gte) to create a biodegradable film and then to study its characteristics. The concentration of gte was made as 0 µg/mL, 5 µg/mL, and 1 µg/mL while the concentration of κ-Carrageenan and glycerol remained constant. Incorporation of gte produces in darker, colorless film. While there is no effect of gte addition in water content observed, the higher concentration of gte will create a thinner film and lower level of water vapor permeability (WVP). An additional study of the mechanical properties of κ-Carrageenan/gte film indicated a direct proportion between the concentration of gte and tensile strength of the film. Meanwhile, there is no sign of correlation between gte concentration and elongation at break. SEM study displayed a more compact surface with smaller pores when the concentration of gte is increased
